Needed a wheel bearing and inspection, they had my car in and out in just a few hours, and the car feels amazing now. They also found unrelated issues without me asking. Much cheaper than other shops around, definitely recommend Butlers!

I took my 75 Camaro to Butler Automotive and had them check it out and do PM They called and all I needed was belt tightened.It cost me very little money anyone else might have changed more Mr Butler is extremely knowledgeable and took time to show and explain a lot about my car

Travis has an amazing team of motivated, talented, and resourceful technicians. They're always extremely honest, and will never try to upsell any unnecessary services. I highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of quality service to their vehicle, as it's without a doubt the best auto repair shop in Athens. My car has been stalling out while driving and I saw this place had good reviews so I decided to take it here. I have a general sense about cars but not good enough to be a mechanic and fix problems, but when I gave them my car I told them I m pretty sure something is wrong with my fuel pump. I made the mistake of giving them my car while it was low on gas, and they wrote it off as I ran out of gas, and thats why my car broke down. I told them I understand what they were trying to explain, but this isn a one timesituation, my car has been stalling out no matter the gas level. I started asking questions on what all they did and the mechanic started getting defensive. I found out all they did was run codes, fill my gas tank up, then reset the codes because it cranked up, so essentially they didn t actually look into anything. I tried to explain to him this is a reoccurring problem and he kept going in circles on either no it s cause i ran out of gas or I can t fix a problem I can t find. I m only writing this review because my car stalled out THE DAY after, 36 hours after getting my car back after they looked at my car. I would only go here for simple fixes and tune ups like oil changes.UPDATE: took it to a friend of a friend and he found within 5min through a program called ProDemand which he said every mechanic shop should have some version of. There was a recall on my Canister Purge Valve explaining why my car unexpectedly stalls and he said it was a very easy and basic search that butler neglected to do.

Travis and his staff are amazing! I called him at 5:00 on a Friday afternoon and told him my son s truck was having problems. He immediately told me to bring it on by. He diagnosed the problem and eased our minds. We ve done business with him several times. I was new to the area and just here a couple days. The gear shift stopped working on my truck. Googled Butler Automotive because it was close to me and had good reviews. I asked about towing and the man walked me through how to fix it enough to get me home. After I got home I called back just to thank them and another guy told me how to fix it with a zip tie. I'm raising two of my granddaughters on a fixed income so money is always tight. Butler was in a great position to take full advantage but didn't make a dime. Integrity like that (out of two different people) is not easy to find. When I do need a mechanic, you can bet, this is the place I'll be calling. Definitely one of the top 5 best experiences dealing with a business that I didn't know and didn't know me. Just can't thank them enough.

Honest, timely, friendly. I usually go to 5 star but they ve been booked solid. They referred me to Butlers and very glad they did. No run around, fair and transparent pricing, affordable for sure. There s a certain level of comfort knowing you can trust your mechanics. Travis and his staff are THE BEST!!! Travis Butler has always been 100% honest, incredibly knowledgeable (and will admit if he s not sure about what s going on we all know that some issues just aren t that easy to fix or diagnose or the car only acts up with us and not when we take it in-IYKYK), dependable, thorough and still gets our vehicles back to us quickly (usually same day), so nice and ALWAYS reasonably priced. I ve NEVER been disappointed by these guys.Our family has been getting our vehicles serviced by Travis for 25 years (before he had this location) because he s just that great. Even when I lived out of state, I d bring my vehicles to Butler s for servicing! Thank you so much, Travis and all the guys there!!!P.S, I am a female. This place is the best! We have been using them for years, have since moved 45 minutes away but still bring our cars here for everything. They are the kindest and most trust worthy people, not to mention they are excellent at what they do!

For the second time, I took my car to Butler Automotive after a tire/oil change place suggested a substantial problem (axle). Both times they told me that I had been misled, my car didn't have the stated problem, and they didn't charge me for looking at it! They've also done excellent and reasonably priced repairs as well. It is heartening to see that there are still people who value integrity and honesty! I always recommend them for this very reason.

If you have an auto issue, call these guys. My daughter attends UGA and I m hundreds of miles away. Her car broke down at UGA and we didn t know where to take it. Found Butler online and had it towed to there. I dealt with Travis. He couldn t have been nicer. They fixed the car inside of 24 hours and it was actually less than he quoted me. My daughter is a UGA student, her car just quit running and she pulled off the side of the road. All lights lit up on dash and the tachometer needle was bouncing. I was out of the state and called Butler to see if they could take a look at it. I spoke with Travis and he said they would be expecting the car. An hour or so after the car arrived, they had diagnosed the issue and contacted me with an estimate of cost and repair time. Travis was able to get the parts and get them installed that day! My daughter was able to pick up the car after she got out of class. Travis even fixed the fender skirt that had gotten caught on raised curb and pulled loose. They did a fantastic job, going above and beyond all expectations. They cleaned out the air intake just because they saw it was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Travis really saved me from having to foot the bill for a rental or Uber service. I felt that even though I was out of state, I could completely trust him with the repairs. The service was amazing, great prices, and I would recommend them to anyone needing auto service. Repaired my daughter's car twice, very reasonable - very trustworthy. If your child is at UGA, this is a fantastic place to get their car repaired. In short: fast, exceedingly high quality work, affordable, trustworthy and helpful staffI backed into my roommate's car, severely scratching the paint and caving in the door. I went to several places to get an estimate, and they all told me that they would have to buy a new door and paint it to match, which would cost upwards of a thousand dollars. I went to Butlers, and not only did they tell me that they could fix and paint the door, but that they could do it for about $600. We brought her car in on Friday, then after the weekend, it was ready. Not only was is shockingly fast, but you could not tell this door had ever been touched when they were done with it. It was perfect, I mean perfect! Nine months later, it still looks great, and they use super high quality paint. They also told me that the color had been off a bit the first time and they'd had to redo it, but it was still so fast. They really care about quality, and they didn't charge me more for the repaint. It came out to be exactly how much they told me it would be. Really great work, friendly and helpful staff, and above all, they just want to fix your car. They're not trying to make as much money as possible. So, it was ideal for a college student. GO HERE TO GET YOUR WORK DONE.

This place is top notch! I usually just go to the dealer for any type of service but not anymore. My rear wheel bearing was bad and they fixed me up within a few hours. Super timely and reliable guys! They will definitely keep getting my service. Truly the best folks in Athens hands down.

i really appreciate the honesty of the guys here at Butlers. They are very knowledgeable and by far the best price in town. i never write reviews but i just had to give it to them. very pleased with the experience, will be a returning customer for sure

The Toyota dealer gave me a quote to replace a wheel bearing for $1200. Butler's did it for $343. Several months later when the other wheel bearing started going out, I took it back to them. When the CV axle went out, the Toyota dealership tried to charge me around $1000. So I called Butler's to get a price quote: $224. The guy at the dealership decided he would do me a favor and come down to about $400 - still a no go, so I took it back to Butler's. This is a great place to take your vehicle - highly recommend! I've had a great experience every time! Moved to Atlanta but still take my vehicle back to them.

Rats ate wires in my car. Took it here thinking it was the chain Butler automotive-- it's not, the owners last name is Butler (I think). Only con was turn around of 3 weeks, but I think this was very unusual as it was a tough and weird problem. Price was extremely low and reasonable. Owner is charismatic, friendly, and smart. I would highly recommend.

Travis is as hard working a guy as there is in the business. What really sets him apart is his honesty to his customers...if you have an easy fix, he will not try and give you some phony upsell like others do. He has been my mechanic for 13 years, and I can honestly say that I have had zero problems with him.

My son called me and said his car was broke down. He is in college in Athens and I m too far away to help him so we called Butler. They were great! Took care of towing, repairs and had him back on the road in a day. Very comforting to know That I have a trustworthy auto shop to call

Absolutely the most genuine shop I've ever been to. Travis personally helped me with my main fuel line for my 1953 Buick and let me watch while giving some info so I understood what was going on. I will definitely continue to take my auto repair needs to this wonderful shop!

Not only the best in Athens, they're the best in Atlanta. They're superlatives in all areas including the two most important areas: Expertise and Honesty.Took my car there twice for two separate issues. Both times got excellent quality, fast, courteous, and most importantly honest straight forward no up-selling scam-like service. Each time, they could have ripped me off and they did not.First time, I thought the car needed a new alternator and was ready to spend the bucks for it but then it ended up being something else ... for about a tenth of what I was expecting. My alternator was indeed old but didn't need replacing "yet". Based on that, I knew a typical rip-off-shop wouldv'e replaced it claiming it was part of the problem.Second time, fuel gauge was failing resulting in three different component fails (oxygen sensor, fuel level sensor, and sender unit) ... all repaired for about a quarter of what the dealer was estimating and that didn't even include the dealer rip-off-fee just to look!The only complaint I have about them ... is that they're not in Atlanta closer to my home! (UGA guy here.) Since I have triple AAA, if I ever have a problem with my car, I'll have it towed there because of how reasonably prices and honest they are.Travis is the owner and his son TJ run everything. Both outstanding in every way.

First I called at 8am 3/11/2021 they told me they would try their best to work me in ! The way they talked with me on phone very courteous and polite and previous reviews made me choose this place I made it there about 830 they were slammed pack and short handed with staff members but they still pulled my car in about 30 minutes and began diagnostics now while I was waiting they had probably 100 calls come in but never did they panic or get upset it s business as usual with these guys. My AC compressor was done and it would be tomorrow before they probably would finish but behold at 4 pm they called with great news that my car was ready the exact same day Wonderful service #athensfinest I will be back again........ I am from another town and got stranded in Athens when my fuel pump went out. They went above and beyond in taking care of me and getting my car fixed. The price was fair and the work was excellent. I will definitely use them again.
