We went there for lunch and the view is spectacular. The food, not so much. We got fish dip and there was about a quarter cup with 8 captains wafers for $9, my Mahi had been done one a flat top and tasted like burnt oil, my husband got the blue cheese burger and it was a LOT of blue cheese. If you are looking for a beautiful view, great place, if you're looking for good food, not so much. The server told me nothing is homemade, it is all store bought. Plus people were also smoking at the bar and tables.

Nice campground, friendly people. A little tight getting around with a long 5th wheel, just go slow and watch. Bar and marina on the water was open maybe 4 nights a week in February. Shower house, pool, some cabins, and a well equipped outdoor kitchen and bar area for gathering with the neighbors, but we didn't see anyone using it. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. There are several cool places to eat or have a drink on the water in town. Probably lots of fun in warmer weather.

My husband & I have been coming to Welaka Lodge for 7 years. We always enjoyed the old Florida atmosphere and the cozy cabins.I m very sad to say that this time (Nov 17, 2023) was VERY different. We were greeted by roaches in the kitchen & bathroom. The toilet was loose on the floor due to rusted bolts (they did come out and fix this) the shower head leaked, the hot water constantly ran out, the finial on the railing at the front porch was not secure making an extreme safety issue, the ice maker didn t work, we couldn t get the stove to work and when we called and left a message at the office, no one ever returned our call... turns out the front burner wasn t working. The floors were so filthy that the bottoms of our feet were black. I literally took pictures and showed them to the lady in the office and I heard every excuse in the book. What happened to this place? It s gone downhill with the new management. They advertise the boat bar and yet when we went there, the girls behind the bar never even acknowledged us, we left and took our business to Shrimps R Us... and shared our experience with several other people there.Sadly, we won t be returning. We didn t plan for and spend our hard earned money to go and live in filth.Happy to be back home in Port Orange!

Welaka Lodge & Resort I am sorry, but you have gone too far. Don't threaten me with a good time.Don't make it easy for me to walk on and take my boat for an an amazing time on the St. John's River. It really sucks when the resort staff is overly friendly.Don't allow me to rent a golf cart (for little $$) just to explore the town like a local and enjoy everything Welaka has to offer. And, when things change for me and I bring my new puppy, don't fully accommodate my needs. You can't treat people so good and get away with it.I don't know how you stay in business with such a great staff, and a community of great people who make everyone feel welcome and important.I am home now for only a few hours, and I already miss you.Damn it!

Our first time here on Christmas to visit family in this town. This cottage was like a Paradise, Nice clean but because we were staying at Christmas so no staff working. The only 3 problems are1) NO internet Wi-Fi the staff said had problems for a week so I can't work on my computer at all.2) No TV channel because TV. Box is broken3) No shampoo and shower gel we have to go out to get it.

We have been going here for about ten years for a week in late January just to get out of the cold in Virginia. It has always been very clean and quiet, no matter which cabin we stay in for the week. They are always very good about letting us keep our bass boats trailered and close by our cottage. Most evenings are very quiet and enjoyable. The same was for this years trip. We did see changes and things happening that I don't know are for the good. We noticed two nights of our stay this year that it was loud outside passed 11 pm and close to midnight with people talking loudly, lights from golf carts running by the cabin while we were trying to sleep. It was the two nights that people were around the bar at the river. We have never experienced this during any of our prior stays. We hope the changes that we are seeing are not that of partying and loud music all hours of the night. We go down to enjoy quiet nights and beautiful days on the river. We are planning 10 day next year and we hope the changes we saw this year is different. We love this little community and all the ammenities.

We went to visit family in Welaka and rented a cottage, I wish we could have stayed another week! The cottage was so beautiful and had everything we needed for our stay, full kitchen, ice maker and stove! The river view was awesome from our front porch drinking coffee! CLEAN the entire room was spotless. I dropped something behind the dresser and pulled it out.... no cobwebs and not a spec of dirt. The entire staff were so helpful and very accommodating! We will be back and might not tell our family!! Thank you Jessica, Lori and the rest of the staff!

We took a 7-day tour of the St. John's River from Sanford to Jax, and this is hands down the best place to stay along the entire 160 mile route. The cabins are amazing both inside and out, with a huge deck that houses your own private Jacuzzi and gas grill. Plus the resort itself has a pool, covered boat parking, and the only pump-out we found along the river. On all future trips to the St. John's River, our entire stay will be at Welaka Lodge, because the north end of Lake George is also the best spot from a boating, dining and fishing standpoint, with Silver Glen Springs being the crown jewel.

Seems great here, unfortunately for us as I arrive, just had to start raining lol for the short time we was here, I always check ppl and places out! To be honest not one person look mad or without smiles. My kinda place place was really clean of trash or weeds! Who ever runs this place cares, and not all about money! Next time I will check out the food and bar.

Great place for a short family trip. Most of the spaces seem to be occupied by long term travelers... but they sure are nice and greeted us warmly. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Great tree coverage, unlike many other places that just seem to be cleared parking lots. They have a beautifully maintained property, from the pool to the bathrooms to the dock, these folks keep it clean. They have a sweet looking bar set up down at the dock... only open Fri-Sun... so we'll have to come back to check it out. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for the memories!

Great little "hide away" and boating spot, brings you near the heart of welaka Florida. A small lovely community with a great people and good food, if you have a boat you definitely want to stop by. If not you can come by land and still enjoy everything! Make sure you stop by and see the waitress Chelsea, she's very nice professional and gives you excellent customer service. I had a smoked barbecue Angus burger with pepper jack lettuce tomatoes onions! WOW! What a great burger also when you making hamburger they have a full condiment tray where you can pick out your food yourself.

Can't beat the location. Sitting in a marina on the St John's River in Welaka Florida. Accessible by boat (I saw no room for yachts) or down a few flights of stairs from the parking lot and trailer park. Mahi fish sandwich was grilled perfect and delicious. Fries were great.

Absolutely loved it. What a great "getaway" even if it was less than an hour. The cottages are totally ready for you to bring in your clothes. The rest is already there. Loved the "personal" touch. The bed was comfortable. Customer service on steroids. I would highly recommend this gem of a place..especially if you're into nature, fishing and sunsets.

Menu is very limited. Even addition of chicken wings or salad would help. Wait staff very friendly and nice, but some need a bit more experience. Overall though, we will certainly go back. It's a great spot to meet up with friends. But I will eat before I go!

Love this little spot with a gorgeous view of the sunset. They have delicious frozen cocktails at great prices. They also serve a small food menu. The burger was good!
