For the second time I dropped my vehicle off at Pinellas Auto Repair for service and for the second time I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship and pricing. They called after diagnosing the issue and provided a detail explanation of what needed done. Again, they are two-for-two with me. They are my go-to auto repair shop going forward.

I happily experienced all 3 of the advertised goals of this business - Trust, Talent & Time! I met the obviously talented owner Paul, immediately felt I could trust him & he completed the repairs/services in less time than I was prepared to wait. Significantly, the cost was less than my estimate & far below what the Honda dealer wanted.I won't hesitate to return & I'll enthusiastically refer others to this very competent & trustworthy facility!!

We've been bringing our cars to Pinellas Auto now for over 7 years. Very friendly, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. It's awesome that there is still a local shop that turns out quality work! Thanks to Ellen, Paul and the entire team!

Dropped my car off thinking I needed a major repair, found out it was just a minor repair!Pinellas Auto was fast efficient and courteous and got my car back to me within 24 hours . Highly recommend!!

I have been using Pinellas Auto for many years and have always found their work and service to be excellent. They have taken care of my Ford truck and my Toyota highlander and my Acura MDX all with great results.

We live in palm Harbor and also in colorado and it took us quite awhile to find an honest reputable mechanic and can't say enough good about this establishment. They are always patient and somehow are able to " work is in" and make our little emergencies important ro them also. Again, can't say enough good about them.

Preface: I don't like disparaging a small business and I don't write reviews. These people inspired me to inform others of my unfortunate experience. In addition, Yelp shows Shannan T., the manager, with her own 5-star review posted right after I left.Last night, my car shut down while I was driving. I have not had any major issues with my vehicle, and I've owned it for 9 years. It has served me well, but of course, these things start to happen at higher mileage. The driver told me he suspected it was the fuel pump and later, when I filled out the drop-off form, I mentioned this.At 8 AM, I received a call from the receptionist and she stated that the diagnostic would be $40. She said they would remove it with service, and I acquiesced.An hour later, she said the mechanic could not find the issue and it would be another $85. Later, they told me that they meant it would be a *total* of $85, not $125.Because she did not communicate that their diagnostic test is not a flat fee, like for example, Tires Plus lets you know up front, I was more than perturbed, I was livid. It sounded as if I were being penalized, baited-and-switched for their incompetence (It took Tires Plus one hour to find the problem following this incident). I left the drop-off note as a trail of bread crumbs for what should have been an easier diagnosis. So why should it take this mechanic longer? They apparently milk it and charge for a diagnosis by the hour; they might want to let the customer know that up front.I admittedly yelled at the receptionist with an, "Are you f****** kidding me?" and she remained silent. I asked again. She still remained silent. I said, "You are silent right now because you KNOW this is wrong." She still remained silent. I said I was coming to get my key, I said god****you and I hung up.When I arrived via Lyft, I found my vehicle (see pictures on Yelp) with the hood up, window open (I don't know why or how it was open because the car had no power to get it open and I couldn't close it afterward), a hose exposed and other assorted parts like my filter gathered into my passenger seat. The Lyft driver was appalled at the scene. I requested that the receptionist take a look at how my car was left and I asked her what kind of place it was. The manager, Shannan, followed her out.Shannan smiled the entire time I expressed distress over the situation. I asked her if she felt it funny, and while she said no, she continued to facially express it with an even bigger smile. She said, "Well, you were rude to my receptionist."Emotions can get high when you bait-and-switch a customer with something as serious as their vehicle, which for most of us, is the vessel for our livelihood: work. While I should not have yelled at the receptionist, she knew that not telling me their diagnostic fee could increase was wrong and at least looked and sounded as if she acknowledged this. We know when someone understands us and she did understand why I was upset. I actually want to apologize to her because I should have saved the full breadth of my insults for Shannan, who smiled smugly while exclaiming: "It's your problem because it's your car." Obviously, it IS my problem.Shannan stood there with a verbal shrug: "We've been in business for thirty years," while I asked her how they could be so unprofessional to leave parts of my car in literal pieces, IN my passenger seat, with the hood up and car open in the middle of their parking lot. Anyone could have robbed my car of parts while it sat there, open and abandoned. They never even took the car inside their garage.They may have been there for 30 years, but I've been here for 33 and this is not how you run a business. The mechanic never showed his face and he never spoke to me. He sent out his two receptionists to gloat at me while he cowered inside.I had to waste another AAA tow to move my vehicle.Don't let this happen to you.

Great people.. I had a 2017 Ford Escape that the windshield fluid wasn t spraying. Ford told me 4 days 2days to look for the problem and 2 to fix. Took my car to Pinellas Auto at 8:15 am Ellen called me at 9:15am told me what was wrong and had my car fixed my 11:30am. The staff is very friendly and they do a great job of explaining what the problem was and what they do to fix it. Their prices are reasonable as well! Came here a few weeks ago with a crack in my thermostat housing, 1500 dollars later I'm left with a car that can't hold oil and told that it'll cost more to take my entire engine apart AGAIN. Thanks a lot.

My truck ac was thoroughly looked over, dye was used to check for leaks, and it was charged in 45-50 minutes. The waiting room was big with very comfortable furniture and a TV to watch. The lady up front was very friendly and informative about what was going to be done. She also popped into the waiting room to update me partway through. I recently acquired a 24 year old car with almost 250,000 miles on it as a gift. It s running good but I decided to take it to Pinellas Auto and have it checked out. I specifically asked for Jimmy to check it out because I know him and trust him he has worked on, my cars for the last four years since I first moved to Florida. He gave my 1999 Toyota Camry a good going over and I got a reasonable written estimate for taking care of the couple of little issues that it did have.

This is PART 2 of my review, I cannot express how wonderful this establishment is, They have taken care of me as if my own brother who is a mechanic has done for years until I moved to the sunshine state.They entertained my concern even though it didn't seem to be warranted. And they found the PROBLEM!!!! I could not thank you all enough for saving my car, my engine, and my Livelihood. Ms. Ellen and the Mechanical engineers are OUTSTANDING. October 2023 - Terrific place and people - I needed an emergency repair so I could get to a series of doctor visits and medical tests so they worked me in and made the fix so I could make all my appointments. Good, honest service with reasonable prices. Previously, we brought our car in at 8 AM as scheduled and received a job is complete phone call at 10 AM. We received an explanation as to the type of work and the reason for doing it. July 2023 - once again honest, reasonable repair to A/C.

I'm visiting from Wisconsin and needed an oil change. My host recommended them. I am super pleased. The charge was less than quoted, the mechanic did everything I needed- topped all fluids, checked tire air, etc., and told me my van is in great shape. That was so nice to hear as I travel and live in it. Ellen was wonderful and so helpful. I highly recommend them.

Great Customer Service!!! A human actually answers the phone and she is amazing (Ellen)!!! Easy to make an appointment, problem diagnosed same day and quotes same day, honest and reliable - what more could you ask for these days!!. My first experience with Pinellas was really favorable in terms of customer service. Ellen is very pleasant and courteous. I received update phone calls in a timely manner and the work (radiator replacement) was also done promptly. However, in terms of the work completed it is far too soon to evaluate as I am given this survey on the same day the work was completed. I am hopeful and optimistic that I will have no issues with the new radiator. I like to support local businesses and will continue to patronize Pinellas Auto in the future based on my experience so far.Update-It has been a year since having my radiator replaced and I have had no issues with it. I also have had some oil leaks fixed and window regulators replaced since then. I am completely satisfied with all the work done on my vehicle at Pinellas Auto!
