Warm welcome was the first thing that my service animal and I received. The front desk clerk was extremely polite and asked the right questions. Showed us to our room. They are a little small but not cramped. The small TV in the room welcomed us too. Provided the weekly forecast but seemed like an afterthought based on the placement in the room. I would love to give it more stars than just 3, but the bathroom has looked like it was flooded and just painted over the sheetrock to cover it up. This was way better than what I expected based on the reviews.Nearby activities: Close to the airport.Walkability: Lots of places to visit that are all within walking distance.

I booked the TownePlace Suites by Marriott in advance because it was affiliated with the Clayman Thyroid Center and offered the sprinter van service to and from the hospital, and my family member helped arrange the friends and family rate. I was excited about the hospital sprinter van service so I did not have to try to set up renting a car or driving in an unfamiliar area after my cancer surgery.I booked 6 weeks out to ensure everything went smoothly. Three days before my check-in and cancer surgery, I called to see if I could possibly check in 2 hours early. I was told that it is a busy time of year and they could not promise me anything, but that I could call the morning of my reservation and check availability. Even though this would mean I would be calling when I got off my plane, I understood and planned to do so.Then the gentleman said that by the way, as of today, we are under new ownership and no longer allow the sprinter van service to and from the hospital that you inquired about (he had remembered that I called 6 weeks prior to ensure the service was offered). He said he was doing me a favor by letting me know about this change (even though I had called the hotel about an unrelated question, and otherwise would not have known until my arrival). The staff member did not apologize or offer alternative suggestions. The male staff member was obviously annoyed when I asked about whether the hotel had come up with any ways to assist their customers who no longer had transportation for early morning surgeries and had not budgeted for this. He stated that the hotel had no responsibility to help. Frustrated at the amount of disregard the hotel had for their customers, I requested that they cover the cost of the ride shares I would now have to arrange (while I prayed that there were rides available at 4:30 am).Even then, the staff member said he would consider asking his managers but could not promise anything since the managers don t work over the weekend. I ended up having to wait until Monday, when I flew in to Tampa, to be told at the front desk that they would cover one way to the hospital. When I already had to worry about cancer and undergoing surgery and the financial stressors or that, I did not expect to be lied to and treated so poorly by a hotel with such well-known branding. I highly advise that you AVOID the TownePlace Suites by Marriott for your travel and go with a company who cares about its customers. I have already notified the hospital of this encounter so they are able to warn other patients.

Clean rooms, friendly service, good room furnishings, well-stocked kitchen, convenient airport shuttle.AC is loud and not that effective, building style seems dated, mattress is uncomfortable (can feel the springs), and generally a bit overpriced.Does not meet the usual high standards I expected from a Marriott property.Walkability: There's a couple restaurants that are close, but it's mostly other hotels around. Would not recommend walking to/from TPA skytrain after dark.Food & drinks: There's an okay Publix a few miles to the south.

We had a short stay, excellent service by the front desk and the breakfast area ladies. Everyone went out of their way to be helpful. Very special shout-out to Shasta, you are so kind. Room was in great shape, seating wasn't the most comfortable in the room (large overstuffed chair) but my goodness, all the extras -- cooktop, full fridge, microwave, full set of serving dishes, everything sparkling clean. It's right by TPA but the noise wasn't a factor for us. No dining on-site but front desk directed us to nearby dining with a good menu, also another nearby option, both a very short walk away. Would stay here again.Rooms: Well stocked for a longer stay. Comfy bed. Could use more pillows.Walkability: Easy walking distance to dining.

Quite possibly the worst value in this area near Tampa International Airport. I chose to stay here due to proximity to the airport since I had an early morning flight. Room is cramped. The specific room I had was first floor near an exit. Exit door closed loudly and was used throughout the night. I got maybe 2 hours of sleep. Several fixtures throughout the hotel were broken and the room and common areas were poorly maintained. If I were to stay nearby again I would spend the extra $20-40 per night for a significantly better quality hotel and better experience. Absolutely a waste of my money.Rooms: Cramped with broken cabinets and awkward layout.Noteworthy details: Near the airport on a relatively low traffic street. Within walking distance to a restaurant. Poor quality and value.

Very outdated! The mattress of the pullout couch was very stained and nasty and old looking. There were no extra sheets in the room for it. The bathroom was nice but there was a bug in it which freaked me out. Breakfast was meh and the cheerios were from February since they were the hearts. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I ve ever slept in at a hotel.

The location is the only pro as this is less than five minutes from the airport. There are several other hotels you could try instead. I recently stayed here thinking it would be the same quality as the Orlando location. I was sorely disappointed. Days Inn would have given me a similar quality at half the cost. The faucet was coming off the wall. The shower knob kept getting stuck. The front desk was inconsistent. To top it off, the pool was dirty. This is unacceptable during vacation. I requested a room change but no one followed up. I gave a reminder. For a two night stay and not hearing from anyone by the next check in time, I called them late the next day and said don t worry about it. They hadn t bothered to follow up with me. This is probably one of the poorest experiences I ve had with Marriot.Rooms: The bathroom is very outdated with poor plumbing.

** Since the business has decided to comment. My group of SEVEN was offered a smaller room (Studio) compared to our two bedroom suite. So no, that did not work for us hence why we said no. All other issues including the roach and toilet paper were absolutely brought up to the front desk as they were the ones that came up to the room to handle the disgusting state this room was in. We were also asked to go buy our own fan and then get a reimbursement. I'm sorry, but on vacation I don't believe a customer should be asked to go to Walmart to fix the hotels disaster. Please do not try to make it look like this comment is coming from a problematic customer. This was a genuine BAD experience at a POORLY run hotel and future customers should be aware of it.**Really confused as to how this hotel has the positive reviews it has. As someone who reads these reviews to make a decision I appreciate honesty. My family and I unfortunately had a terrible experience at this hotel. I will start with the staff was kind enough to comp us for the first night and a portion of the second night. We stayed here for two nights for a concert nearby. Upon arrival to the room, we noticed it was hot in the room and immediately turned down the AC. The AC system never kicked up that night. We called the next morning to let them know the AC was clearly broken. The person did offer us a smaller room but with 6 people it was not a good option plus we were arriving late from a concert that day.During night two, we arrived late from a concert to a room that no one ever attended while we were away. No towels and no toilet paper. This was another HOT night. We all tried to take cold showers but that wasn't an option either. The only water coming out of the shower head was hot water. So add that to the already hot room.I also want to add that the rooms were disgusting. There was clear water damage on the roofs and walls. We woke up to a cockroach on the carpet the last morning. The bathtub had clear stains all over it.Overall will NEVER stay or recommend this hotel again.

Just left here and had to leave a review.....I enjoyed staying here, it was nice and clean and the staff was amazing from the time I walked in the door until the time I checked out. Breakfast was good and the room actually had EVERYTHING you need in it. It is like a small efficiency apartment. The area was perfect, nice restaurants, mall and real close to the airport. I'll be back for sure.

Great place to stay with kids. We were here for a night for my boyfriends surgery near by. They arranged a ride/shuttle for him to get him to the Norman Parathyroid Center early in the a.m.They are welcoming and friendly at the desk. The breakfast was hot and amazing. Very well organized and clean. From hot coffee/tea to orange juice and Apple juice. Waffles, muffins oatmeal along with cereal. The pool is heated. It's a very nice long pool. Very well maintained. There is also a grill outside beside the pool area. They also have a 24 hour gym area.I'm very pleased with my stay. If your ever in the area for the airport or Norman Parathyroid Center this is the place to stay. I would recommend it.

Having stayed at other Marriott, Hilton, Hyat I was surprised how compact it was. BUT- what it lacked in space was made up in amenities. A cooktop, microwave, frig-freezer, etc. Bed comfort, breakfast variety great, and my favorite-Pure Life bottled water. Friendly and helpful staff. I'll be back. (Booked under family name. Rm 207 on 9/9/23)

This hotel bills itself as the airport hotel with free shuttle service. My daughter and her friend were flying at 5 a.m., so I booked a room for them. At check in the Marriott employee explained that to catch the shuttle, just come to the lobby about 10 minutes prior to the time they want to be picked up. Not comfortable with that, they arrived in the lobby at 2:40 for the 3 a.m. pick up. The shuttle DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 3:40 a.m!!! My daughter had an anxiety attack. The only reason they made their flight was the pilots were also late, probably catching the same shuttle. We will not stay or trust this place again. Use at your own risk, but be forewarned.

Worst hotel I have stayed in. First room we were put in had a live cockroach, mentioned to front desk he moved us to a room that was as hot as a sweat shop. He almost acted like it s a normal issue based on his attitude. The bed is like laying on a concrete floor. Nothing feels clean at all. This place is terrible, never stay here!!!!!Rooms: Disgusting!Noteworthy details: Place is horrible!

Overall a nice hotel where I enjoyed my stay. The staff was exceptionally friendly, including the support staff such as housekeeping and maintenance. The layout of the hotel is intelligent, giving easy access to any amenities you desire. Free continental breakfast is served each morning, and an always open self-service store is in the lobby for any food, liquor, or utilities you may need during your stay. Some light criticisms would be:the laundry machines on site are all coin operated, the option of a credit card operated machine would be handy, since many people don't carry change any more. The airport shuttle runs every 30 minutes which is great but it can get overcrowded and even full where they need to ask people to wait for the next shuttle. Arrive early for the shuttle and definitely don't wait for the last possible shuttle before your flight. The lighting in the bedroom of my unit was lackluster, there was no overhead light, only the bedside lamp. Even with the curtains open during the day, the room felt a bit dark.A more major criticism is that the bed was a horrible spring mattress that I'd advise anyone with existing back pain to avoid. I've slept in plenty of spring mattress that have been fine, but this bed was particularly painful to sleep on. I need a massage after this stay.In summary this is a good hotel with great staff and nice amenities, but the bed was a major detriment to my comfort.

TownePlace Suites is a decent hotel surrounded by better hotels. The rooms were suites that were clean, well equipped, and comfortable. They had a decent free breakfast in the lobby area, a functional gym, a gas BBQ (with available utensils on request), and a pool. I visited the surrounding hotels for their bars and restaurants and was happy I wasn't paying the premium for those amenities. It is close to the airport and within a short drive to many nice restaurants and entertainment venues.

Horrible experience. This place is disgusting, more like a Motel 6. Lobby door was locked. After 10 minutes standing outside, the front desk person finally showed up, without a friendly welcome. Carpet is dirty, minimal decor, dingy hallway. The room was the same way. Didn't want to touch anything. Bed had no life left in it. Must have been 50 years old. Don't waste your money on this place.

Very friendly staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Didn't like that the only mirrors were located in the bathroom (full length and over the sink), this made it difficult for two people to get ready at once. Only close restaurant is world of beer. Had to uber to the store and a more populated area but we did walk back.. took about 40 mins to walk. All in all, it's a decent hotel, very close to the airport that offers free shuttle from the airport.

We've traveled the country in the last three years and so far this has been the worst TownPlace Suites we've stayed in. Dirty rooms, like grossness dripping down the walls. Mold covered up with paint. Greasy and sticky. We would have switched rooms, but this wasn't an option as they were too booked to accommodate cleanliness. On top of that, they were $400 a night and were able to get it because the other hotels in the area were comparable... but only in price. Next time, we stick with Hilton.Rooms: DisgustingSafety: Not sanitary, had to clean our own roomFood & drinks: Breakfast was okay. It's free so... but we've had better even at other TownPlace Suites before. This place is just underachieving.

Overall I'm giving it a five. The bathroom is the biggest con; the tub spout doesn't pull up all the way causing less shower flow, the toilet has slow flush, high traffic areas could use a paint touch up. All easy fixes. Snack shack had an interesting self scan which nice option. Breakfast provided hot sandwiches and waffles from dinner grab and go. Staff super friendly. Room itself was nice and clean. We were in walking distance of World of Beer ( download the app). I would def stay again!!

First of all, it cost way too much for the caliber of hotels. This is I am a lifetime, titanium member, and was not treated with respect that I deserve. No upgrades available no welcome gift. How can you charge it was $400 for a hotel of this class? I will never stay here again. I was giving Marriott a bad name.Noteworthy details: None
