Tampa/ St Pete and Clearwater are super lucky to have access to such an awesome resource! Larry and team have a passion for their work and clearly know what they are doing, having seen and dealt with most gremlins that an old VW and their owners can throw up. And given the age of these cars, I am sure that it s not easy sailing. OAC installed a new wiring harness in my split window bus, did some brake work and tidied up some other areas that have been irking me. As of today my bus has never ran and stopped so good. And I am sure that other motorists are happy also :)Thanks for what you do team Olsen. It s really appreciated!

Have a Meyers Manx style dune buggy and needed a throttle cable in a pinch Larry helped me out! $12 out the door and he directed me to the right item where I would have bought the wrong one. Back on the road and running better than ever.Larry has also raced the Baja 500 years ago and I will now be collaborating with him to reinforce and tune up my buggy for the Mexican 1000 Safari Class in 2024.Just a great experience so far with this shop.

Best air-cooled VW shop on this side of the Mississippi River. Period. April and Larry are very helpful and do anything and everything they can to take care of everyone that walks through the door. Unlike a big dealership style shop, you really feel welcome and at home when you walk through Olsen's shop. They are the best in the biz from service and maintenance all the way to ground up restorations. They are always willing to work with you and make sure you and your classic VW or Porsche is leave happy

Took my beetle here for some minor work and when I got my bug back, It was in worse shape then when I took it there. Loose wiring and he replaced some of my brand new parts with his own inferior parts, which now I have to replace again. When I confronted him about it, he denied it and refused to look at it. I would not recommend Larry to anyone!Service: Auto maintenance

Olson's Air Cooled is an old school family owned business with decades of knowledge and experience along with an inventory that will blow your mind. 99% of anything you need is in stock for several years of VWs and what they don't have, April will order for you. They will not rip you off. You will be treated like family. Their repair shop is amazing.

Went to Olsen's for the first time this week to pick up a part for my 65 bug. First of all, the place looks like it would be a VW shop/parts store. It is a great old building built in the 20s. I met both Larry, the owner, & April his daughter. It is a family ran place. Larry and I started to briefly talk about our military lifes; it was a great conversation. It was like we served together, even though he is a Vietnam VET and I am an Afghanistan VET. The beauty of being veterans. We called each other "Brother" and "Charlie Mike-d". Nice to know that there is another reliable VW spot in Tampa.

This is a shop/store dedicated to restore, fixing and parts sale for all types of Volkswagen. Larry and April are very knowledgeable, super friendly and really good with costumers. If you have a vintage bus or beetle this is the place you want to visit in Tampa I promise you won t regretted.

They replaced the exhaust system as requested, but the rest of the work I had asked them to look into was very poorly done, or not done at all.They missed a filthy fuel filter, and a filthy air filter, they left the distributor loose, and there were some other areas of the car that appeared to be intentionally tampered with, to create problems I didn't have when I brought the car in.The vehicle left me on the side of the road after 8 miles.I ended up taking it to the VW professionals 6 miles southeast, who really took good care of me.Services: Carburetor cleaning, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine tuning

The service is great! I ran into a jam with my 72 VW Karmann Ghia, as a previous shop claimed they could repair, but their efforts proved COSTLY and futile! April, the co-owner is a sweetheart. She knows her stuff! Great service and good price$$. Highly recommend.

Absolutely love April and the guys at Olsen's! They work on my vehicle like it was their own, and are upfront and honest about issues and are not looking to just make a few bucks. They are like my bug family, and I wouldn't want it any other way! Thanks guys, you rock!

Absolute BEST place to take your air-cooled car! '71 Super beetle running better than ever! I'll be a lifetime customer! Also gave my dad a GREAT deal on a '74 super beetle awhile back. Great place to go!

Olsens is an old school VW shop. A dying breed. They have very knowledgeable techs who can literally work on your VW blindfolded. Larry the owner and his lovely daughter April will help you with anything you need and 90% of the time will have what you need in stock. Make olsens your first call. I always do.

Here's the real deal for aircooled services! My '78 VW bus needed an adjustment before driving 250 miles home and these kind folks slipped me into their very busy day - preparing for their annual customer appreciation party weekend! - and had me back on the road in less than an hour. I'll be planning an overnight trip to Tampa the next time my bus needs expert TLC!

Olsens took great care of my 69 trike. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It was a mess when I brought it and they figured it all out. There is no other place that's better. Good vw shop very knowledgeable on the vw scene. My girlfriend says Mr Olsen is a VW hoarder lol if you need one worked on or any parts these guys are great
