Nick installed a Thermal R&D catback exhaust on my Explorer ST. This included replacing the OEM flex pipe section that is known to rattle. Nick was courteous and professional and charged a fair price. Looks and sounds awesome. Thanks MadMaxxNick!

Went up to Mad Hatter, boss man there listened to exactly what I wanted. Provided and Preformed the Service with ease. He was a really great individual to get along with. Nick at this location treated me right throughout the entire process. I called to make an appointment a week in advance and received a follow up confirmation by him the day before I was scheduled to go in. Once I arrived he went over my exhaust install in detail and performed the service. Price quoted was the price I paid. Great experience! I highly recommend!

Nick at Mad Hatters is amazing. I needed my flex pipe replaced and he gave me a great price. Nick was very professional, honest and had the job done within 2 hours. I HIGHLY reccomend him and is now my go to guy.

Had my 3.5 altima coupe get a straight y-pipe after resonator and muffler delete, great sound and very good work. I remember at the shop you guys talking about how you don t really like to mess with cat-converters. Wanted to ask about the possibility of fitment of test pipes in replacement for my cat, as ive been looking online and havent had much luck and may need custom work done

Ok. Let me just say that Nick is an asset to this location. From phone call for pricing, to walking out the door, I have never been more impressed with a staff and to the the level of professionalism and teamwork between him and his techs (Edwin worked on my car) was amazing. Especially with a rare car (93 Dodge Stealth R/T).They did everything that I asked for in a custom exhaust, and got me exactly at the price I wanted with high quality work/parts. The car sounds amazing. I will continue to travel from Lakeland to West Tampa, just to have Nick and his team work on my car again. Thanks guys!!!

Do not go here they will change prices, try to get you to pay over the quoted price to correct their shoddy work. I was quoted $220 to put in 2 Catalytic Converters in a 2010 Supercharged Range Rover sport. I ordered my genuine parts from the Land Rover dealership once my parts arrived I scheduled the installation for the next day. When I brought the vehicle in the shop owner offered to source the parts. I told him I ve already purchased the parts from the dealership. He responded that is fine and they began to get started. I waited the estimated 2hr for work to be completed. I stepped out to get get lunch and I received a call from them saying they were having trouble fitting the catalytic converter s to the manifold pipes. They said the fittings were not the same. I contacted the Land Rover dealership who confirmed the part numbers. They then told me they can take the system back down to correct the spacing and re-fit the catalytic converters for an additional $200 or they can cut the inlet off of the old catalytic converter and attach it to the new catalytic converter because they felt that would make it fit. Dealership advised against this saying altering a part would void the warranty. I asked them to put the vehicle back together that it s probably best I go to another shop. 5 min late I got my truck back went to leave and it stalled out multiple times. I pulled over and viewed the catalytic converters fittings, both were left completely loose with a 1/2 in gap. The check engine light, restricted performance light, and low battery light are now on and the truck barely runs. When I returned they kicked me out and refused service after telling me I bought eBay parts They also refused to refund payment although they never completed the job properly. I had the vehicle towed to another repair facility immediately. I would stay far away from here if you value your vehicle.***update madd max/hatter welded the two parts together that do not belong together saying they couldn t seat the exhaust. The company who corrected the issue sent these additional photos**** The parts did not fit because your tech tack welded the cats together in a place they never had to where you have to physically remove other parts to reach. Which sounds pretty shady to me. As soon as the weld was broken they seated and sealed just fine. The pictures tell it all no need to apologize I will never recommend this shop.

brought in my car to get a cat back exhaust installed and was greeted with good and friendly customer service. Nick was extremely knowledgeable and seemed enthusiastic about his work. He kept me informed with all the details of the install and most importantly the work was done correctly at a fair price. Would definitely recommend for exhaust work.Service: Exhaust

This place is a joke never bring your car here for any type of engine repairs. Absolutely no knowledge of repairing a vehicle good at welding mufflers and that's it. I should have known better to have dropped of my car after giving the owner of the shop $150 cash to replace my valve cover on my 08 Infiniti G35S and not getting a receipt. My car kept misfiring from bank 5 replaced my sparkplug and coil pack twice then took apart everything on my own only to realize not only did they not install my valve cover properly but they didn't put my clip on my fuel injectors on bank 5 back that's what kept causing my coil pack and sparkplug to misfire. Then to top it off they tried to tell me my upper oil pan was cracked were the oil sensor is which was not the case the oil sensor it self was cracked morons for the owner telling me it would take 1 hour to fix ended up 5 hours later to replace a valve cover what a joke crooks.

Super cool owner! Described exactly what was going on and what he was doing and never left me (the customer) guessing as to what was going on with my vehicle. With precaution even let's you on the shop floor to view the progress of the job he's completing. I'm very confident in the owner Nick's capabilities so much so I told many of my friends who need work done to visit his shop to get it done right. I couldn't be happier with the service and experience he provided 10/10. Also keep in mind to those reading this review he's running a one man show for the shop and he managed to weld 5 joints of my exhaust system in under an hour and had me on my way with a smile on my face.Service: Exhaust

Great friendly and knowledgeable service, an excellent price / value, veteran owned & a veteran's discount - what's not too like? I brought my truck to Nick to fix the horrible and incomplete welds of my so called custom exhaust by Tuffy Auto Center. It had leaks everywhere. Nick took the time to fix every weld, including lowering spare tire to get to exhaust tips welds.He checked every weld and allowed me under truck to verify! This is exactly what I wanted! He did an unbelievable job after Tuffy hacked this job! Thank you Nick for all you did and being so informative! You want a great exhaust, go see Nick! Thanks again, brother! Excellent work , I took my Mercedes Gt53 to them to have a catless downpipe installed, work was done in one day by Luis and Nick and the price for the Labor was fair . They communicated with me through the whole process to keep me informed. That's great customer service!

Nick really is the bomb. He is a one man operation who knows what he s doing. He doesn t need anyone else. Been here for exhaust swaps, muffler swaps, muffler deletes. Any metal work I need done on my car I schedule an appointment with mad hatter. Quality work at decent prices. Place is appointment only so make sure to call ahead.

I was charged almost $300 for 2 exhaust welds for 1 hour of labor. The car was in and out of the shop in an hour (I timed it), and was charged $220 for 1 hr of labor plus $53 in shop supplies for 2 exhaust welds. I work in the automotive field and know that's not fair pricing. the quality of the work may be A+ but this shop makes the prices they want. I will not be returning here.

I went there and he gave me a quote that was going to be worst case scenario, set an appointment. Fully expecting that it was probably going to end up as the worst case scenario, but after he made his assessment he gave me his honest opinion and saved me a bunch of money and did it in a very timely manner. This guy fully embodies why small businesses are able to be successful for a long period of time in my opinion. Thank you Nick and your team

I used to come here a few years ago when they were located on Hillsborough to get my car repairs done. The owner Nick was very friendly and knowledgeable and always explained to me what was going on with my car and what was being done to it with visuals which I appreciated because I m clueless about cars. Never had any problems and I felt confident leaving. I just found out they don t do repairs anymore and only do mufflers. Kinda bummed because a good mechanic is hard to come by, but they did recommend another good one.

I spoke to the guys over the phone and explained what I wanted, they said they could do it and quoted me an approximate price. It took me a little to get my car running enough to get it to their shop as I had just rebuilt the motor. I called last minute and asked if they could complete it in one day, they said sure, bring it down and we can discuss the install of the exhaust. It's not very often that you find great shops and then great shops with friendly knowledgeable people, and then to add that they knew about old cars and how to properly install the exhaust for ground clearance. I have built many different classic Ford muscle cars and these guys did BY FAR the best exhaust job I've had on any of my cars! This shop is fantastic and would recommend anyone to this shop. Great Service! Quick assessment and quality repair of both exhaust brackets and welding of cracked pipe.All staff was very welcoming and helpful in explaining work that needed to be completed.Started and completed work in less than 40 min and cost was very reasonable.I was not aware of all automotive services they offered until now. I will definitely return based on experience.

I heard about this place from word of mouth. I had to get a catalytic converter replaced. I was welcomed by Nick at the front desk. He was very polite, professional and helpful. I was introduced to the mechanic (Edwin) and he told me exactly what my car needed and what he was going to do with it. Nothing more, nothing less. I have to say that Edwin did a fantastic job. If you re looking for a great shop with great core values look no further! Service and pricing here is like no other. I went in early in the morning to drop my car off for an exhaust install and did notify them in advance that I would be able to pick it back up but at around 6:30ish ( an hour and a half after closing).And they were able to work with me! Luis waited for me after closing and went above and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service and my vehicle. I was more than happy with everything and will be returning when needed! Great shop and great employees!

A great experience with having an additional exhaust bung installed for a Wideband sensor yesterday. Due to being in the middle of an ECU upgrade project, I had my car towed to and from the shop. Nick was awesome to deal with. Excellent communication, and the up-front estimate over the phone was accurate and fair. The technician was friendly, and did a very nice job. Nick and his team assisted the tow truck drivers as well. Thanks for the excellent customer service and a job well done!
