Booked through Costco and had a great experience. Price was fair, pick up & drop off was easy. We had a small technical issue with the navigation system, and let them know when we dropped the car off. Colin was very nice and professional and even gave us a discount for our troubles - totally unexpected! I would definitely rent from Alamo again.

Good experiences deserve good reviews, IMO. Chose Alamo b/c of the Skip the Counter feature and it worked flawlessly. Reserved a compact SUV in Tampa for a week to drive all over Florida and return in Miami. Entered my license and payment info to check-in a few weeks prior and got the barcode to head straight to the lot. An attendant pointed me to the correct aisle and we were out in less than 10 min with no waiting. Car was fine all week, and we had a quick and easy drop-off in MIA with a friendly attendant showing us where to park and asking how our trip went. Good experience!

***UPDATE**. I just wanted to get back on here and add to my post that when I returned the replacement mini van at the end of my rental I was met at the van by a manager and was treated very good and they was very understanding with the hassle and trouble that I faced and they made it rite with me. I was very impressed with how they handled it and I will for sure rent with them again and will recommend them to others looking to rent. I have grown up in a family company and sometimes things happen that nobody can control and how you resolve the issue is what separates the good company s from the bad ones and I will say they get a A+ in customer service.The rental was easy to get and everything was great til we had car problems in Miami Beach and the premium suv needed towed. At that point I called the 800 number and they sent me a Uber to Alamo of Miami Beach for a replacement which was very rude and told me they had nothing after waiting in line for 2hrs. I walked 2 miles back to hotel where my family was with a baby there and finally they sent another Uber to take me to Alamo Miami airport where there was a manager named Obie not sure on spelling but was very helpful and did all he could do for me which was give me the only thing he had left which was a mini van which will not fit all of my family and luggage. I will now have to make 2 trips everywhere I go I have tried calling Tampa Alamo several times to get no answer. This all started on the the 1 full day of my 12 day trip so I now have 11 days left of not having the vehicle I reserved and am paying for. I have wasted 1 day of my vacation dealing with this problem and will have to spend double the time and money for fuel to get my family from place to place I would really like to know how to get hold of management at the Tampa airport as the have good reviews and feel they would try and do their best to fix this poor situation. I understand it s spring break but there has to be something they can do to help make the remaining days of my vacation better

I had a positive experience with the representatives of Alamo at the Tampa Airport. I can t say the same about the customer service reps on the phone who told me my reservation would be canceled if I couldn t arrive within 24 hours even though I explained my flight was canceled. They explained that s their policy and nothing could be done. After speaking to 4 different people and finally a supervisor they assured me I would have my rental vehicle upon arrival. Once I arrived in Tampa the rep at the counter, Brian was extremely helpful as was the person I returned the rental to.

My service was unbelievable. My wife and I rented a midsize car. It was small and was not really what we wanted. We drove up to the exit and asked the young lady if it was possible to get something larger. She called her supervisor who came and was so very kind. He called via his radio calling for a very nice crew cab pickup truck to be delivered to the exit lane. He than got into our original car and took it away. The truck was there in 2 minutes. All this was completed with nothing but kindness on their part. Lastly, the upgrade should have cost an additional $11 per day for the week we were to have it. We were not charged this amount and only paid for the mid size car. It was Saturday afternoon at the Tampa FL airport at approximately 4:00pm, exit lane #5. GREAT customer service. Thank you guys so much. You made our week much better!

Great experience at the Tampa airport location. The guy at the service desk was sooo friendly and helpful. Whole process was really quick and easy! When I walked into the garage, I was told to choose any car in a specific row. As I began walking down it, another gentlemen directed me to a specific car and said choose this one! It was brand new, with 4 miles on it and it still had plastic on the handles and screen inside. It was so nice of him to point me towards that car, it was great. Really couldn t have had a better experience. I ll definitely use Alamo again.

We skipped the counter and after a short wait were informed or reserved small SUV want available so we were able to take a midsized for no extra charges. Our Tucson was a great vehicle and we were very happy with the upgrade. Gabe made the return process quick and easy. This was our second time renting from Alamo and we will use then the next time we need a rental.

First time renting from Alamo. Rented at the Tampa airport. Reservation for a full size SUV (eg Expedition / Tahoe) was made online through Chase travel portal. Alamo is an on-airport renter (like Hertz and Avis). Pickup was smooth (maybe 5 minutes max) with plenty of staff on available. We had 6 vehicles to choose from. Picked a nearly new Expedition that had all the bells and whistles and was a great vehicle. Drop-off was even faster (they were done before we had all the bags out of the car). Would definitely rent from them again.

The process to pick up my vehicle at Tampa Airport was very efficient. I appreciated the option to select my own vehicle. The vehicle was very clean, full tank of gas and ready to go.Drop off was okay, but I felt a bit rushed being in a long line of cars with people waiting behind me and I ended up leaving behind one of my charging cords.

Overall, a very positive experience. Easy to Arrange, pick up at airport, pick out vehicle. All vehicles to choose from were very new and clean condition. Very easy drop off and so far no unexpected additional charges.*One concern was that we were not aware that any tolls we paid while driving our rental Alamo vehicle would they would incur a $5.00 additional fee they collect along with the toll fee! Very concerned about this. Luckily we only had to use one toll on our vacation. I feel this policy needs to be looked at and changed, or made very clear to future renters before they sign up with renting an Alamo vehicle.

In the past and recently I have rented a vehicle from Alamo and I was not or never disappointed. The service we received was friendly, professional and helpful. The vehicle, mechanically, worked great, no issues and very clean upon pick up. Online booking is easy to navigate and the payment process was straight forward.Thank you Alamo for helping us enjoy our vacation(s)!

Excellent experience on every level. Rented a pickup to furnish a space. First time renting a truck from a rental co. Was a full size Ram that suited the purpose. Easy access from their desk. No extra insurance tactics. All good!

Customer service and overall experience was great. The car was nice, although it could have been a little cleaner. (A fair amount of sand inside, granted it was near the beach.) The only real negative was the self check- in kiosk. That part was terrible. Computers from 1988 had better performance.After several attempts with the self check in and after a Alamo representative tried to help, they also gave up and sent me to the counter. As soon as I was able to communicate with a live person, everything was much better. The person at the counter, and the guys at the cars were great. It is for that reason I give a five star rating. (Less than one star for the self check-in.) I truly feel that if a company would go back to good old fashioned customer service with live people, they would stand above the crowd and capture a much larger piece of the overall market.At the end of the day, I was happy and will certainly use Alamo again for my car rental needs.

Clean, new car, easy pickup and return, freindly employees. Alamo has always been very reliable. I am much more comfortable with this company than going with one of those discount car rentals where I read so many horror stories from other customers.

Part of the fun when visiting the US for me is driving a big/ fancy car which I ve never driven before. So this time I went for a luxury suv (in this case navigator or similar). Booked months and months in advance so you would expect your reservation to be there once you arrive. After a super long day of flying the car is not available. And instead of upgrading me they downgraded me. They looked at me and said you don t qualify (still don t know how that works ). Received a full size suv instead and was told to look it up with the rental company I made the reservation with. Quick thinking on my part made them change it before I left (cause if not good luck). In the end all was fine so that saves them from a truly negative review. I will also consider this an anomaly. Will surely try Alamo again cause all the other times I rented from them went well.

Car was ready when I landed at the Tampa Airport.Had an issue with a flat tire. Had to wait 2 1/2 hours for help. That was the worse but it wasn't Alamo's fault.Returning the car was very simple. Torrean was efficient and made the return a pleasant experience

The service was incredible! They accepted my order on the spot and had me checked out and on my way within a half hour. Where as the other company I contracted with had a very long line and wait time. Im thankful for Alamo and will rent from them again! They're the best!

Would definitely rent from Alamo again! I didn't have to put any money down ahead of time. The process of picking up and delivering the car was so simple at the Tampa Airport. Their staff was helpful and friendly. They had so many mid size SUV to choose from. It was a great experience!

Great experience. I chose the "skip the counter" option and everything went smoothly. There was a representative in the garage to assist me. They did not have the class car I reserved so upgraded my ride for free. Return was simple and immediate. I had an email outlining all the charges before I even left the garage. Will definitely be using Alamo again.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! From the moment I stepped into the Almo center at Tampa international, I was greeted with the best service anyone could ask for. They were prompt, efficient, kind and eager to help. They certainly won my business for future car rentals. Not sure if this is standard of all Alamo locations, but Tampa International is the very best service I have ever received. From beginning to return, top notch customer service!!! VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

We always dread the hire car collection process but I have to say this was the easiest pick up ever!! We booked luxury SUV and had a choice of a few rows to pick from with a range of sized cars! Staff super helpful in choosing and we had a really fab Mercedes suv that we loved! No queues when we arrived and check in with a lovely helpful lady! The process couldn t have been easier, wills definitely use again!

I arrived at the Alamo Kiosk and it was packed. It was a heavy travel day. After I walked in there was a customer service person with a QR code that allowed me to get checked in electrically since I already had reservations and I headed straight outside to pick out my vehicle. I paid as I pulled out and it was an easy process. I m thankful because I was able to avoid traffic that was building up. When I returned the car it was seamless. They are well organized and helpful. Will definitely do business with them again.

This was our first time renting from Alamo and definitely won't be our last. Great experience from pick up in Fort Meyers and drop off in Tampa. When we dropped off in Tampa, Wilmi was great. She wanted to make sure we took our time to ensure we didn't leave anything behind. She even took the extra step to confirm for herself that we didn't leave anything, which was greatly appreciated. Great customer service.

From the moment me and my family landed to being asked how was our trip by Cole. I d say 5 stars. The car we rented was clean and didn t have that rental car smell. Everything I d expect in a rental was met from service to product.100% recommend. Will use again next visit to Tampa.

Excellent experience at TPA Alamo both at pick up and drop off. I was looking for a specific convertible and the staff member specifically found one for me and kept me updated as it was cleaned and prepared. At drop off I mentioned a small issue with the rear windows and the staffer discounted my bill as a courtesy even though I didn't request anything like that. Good folks down there working for Alamo!

Pick-up/return was smooth. Car was in good condition.I have a complaint about the toll policy. Specifically, you charged us a fee ($5 per day) if we used toll roads AND we also have to pay the toll. Seems like a way to squeeze every penny out of your customers.

Alamo consistently has good service. I experienced car trouble and they sent a tech within an hour. It was a quick fix. They added a $67 service charge to my bill, which I asked the receiving agent to remove after I explained the circumstances. He removed the charge immediately.

Similar to recent reviews, we had a car with a mechanical problem while in St. Pete, and we discovered that there is no way to actually get someone from the Tampa Airport Alamo on the phone. Roadside had us wait two hours for a tow and Uber to the nearest Alamo (PIE), who gave us a downgraded replacement that smelled of cigarette smoke. Had we known that going to a different Alamo meant being put in whatever exchange car they had available, we would have had them Uber us 10 extra minutes to the Tampa airport, but we had no communication from the Tampa Airport Alamo, and thus didn t know. We lost half a day of our relatively short vacation to this problem, and their management absolutely refused to pick up a phone to call us (they claimed by e-mail they don t own any phones). Can you give negative starts for customer service?
