Five stars for brake service? Ray Gordon Brakes have worked on numerous cars of mine since 1990! They are the only local business I allow to work on my brakes for the service, price and NOT having to return as the work was not done right the first time-

Whole experience was terrible. Was told by Jeff, I missed my appointment as soon as I walked through the door but then he realized he was looking at the wrong day. That's fine. Then he ask me why I'm at the brake place.... Test drove my car. Came back and said nothing was wrong. Even though its clear my rotors need to be replaced from the vibrating stopping. They think I might need new brake fluid and to change that is almost 300 or to do my brakes, which should also do that, is the same. Or I could just pay the 80$ diagnosis fee and leave with bad brakes. Spent all that money and there's still a problem.. go to DTs garage and its the rotors and now 1,000$ later my brake problem is fixed that the brake place couldn't do. Dont recommend. Definitely an unprofessional scam

Went to ray gordon brakes on oct 23 to my brakes serviced I was told that I needed a master cylinder and 2 rear wheel cylinders no warning lights on when they got through with it they charged me 919 dollars when i paid them they informed me engine light and brake warning light was on basically said didn t know why i was half home called said bring it back they had left an oring out when they installed it I m 75 years old this is very dangerous

I needed some work done on my brakes and didn t want to have it done at the dealership. My father recommended Ray Gordon. He told me they would take care of what I needed. I dropped my car off and they notified me when my car was ready. I was very satisfied with the quality of work, cost and promptness of their work. They are very professional and courteous as well.

I was told by two different tire shops that my car's front brakes needed replacing. I didn't like the quotes ($500+) they were giving me, so I took my car to Ray Gordon. Jeff told me the brakes were fine, had about another year's worth of life. He recommended only a brake fluid flush & fill, which I accepted. I appreciate the honesty of Ray Gordon Brake Service and will certainly use them in the future when brakes are REALLY needed.

My daughter took her vehicle there and was taken advantage of. She was given two options for brakes, but was never told her brake pads were good. $577 later when it should of been turn rotors that were 3 years old and replace pads. You better know mechanic terms if you want to keep money in your pocket. Otherwise they ll take it.

These men are probably the most honest guys in the business of auto repair. I went in thinking I needed to replace all of my brakes. They assessed my car and then determined I only needed the front brakes and I had about a year left on the back. I took my car to Ray Gordon twice and have been extremely satisfied with all of their work. Furthermore, the follow up each service with a courtesy call just to make sure everything is ok. Went in believing I needed new brake pads because my brakes were squeaking. After going in and informing them I needed new pads they said it would be 40 to check it out and they would let me know what they would cost.After inspecting them I was informed my brake pads actually had a good bit of life left in them and the squeaking was caused by something else. Saved me a good bit of time and money. Really appreciate honest local businesses will definitely go to them again!

These are truly professionals and know what they are doing. The Dodge dealership tried to tell that I needed just rear brakes and rotors. Ray Gordon's found my front front brakes almost metal to metal and I didn't need rotors. I got all four wheels done and a brake fluid flush for tha same amount Dodge was going to charge me for just a back brake job. They are thorough too. Great job! I highly recommend Ray Gordon's for your brake srrvice.

Excellent knowledgeable mechanics. I have a 2018 Range Rover and that no one else in town was able to service the brakes because they did not have the knowledge expertise or equipment needed to remove the rotors or the computer software needed to put the vehicle into service mode. I got a quote from over $1300 at range rover to fix my problem and we did a complete fluid swap out and corrected my problem for under $300.. very excited to find a shop in town that's not after the almighty dollar and does great work at a reasonable price. Jet used his 29 years of experience to correct my problems fast and efficiently. Thanks LimoMike

Recently had a front brake job completed. From the scheduling over the phone to the completion of the job, nothing but excellent service. I mentioned that i thought at least on side may require a new rotor. Prior to commencing the job, the technician came to the waiting room and explained that a new rotor was not needed. He could have just as easily sold me a rotor without me knowing the difference. I appreciate the speedy and honest service. I would highly recommend this business to anyone. I have done business here throughout the years. Always the same level of service.

Because they used to be the best in Tallahassee I went to get an estimate and quote. What I ended up with was a demand of $88 to check out my car, advice to defer the brake job, a $114 bill to change the brake fluid, a light on the dash that they told me was the check engine light that didn't actually that, and later when I got my tire pressure checked somewhere else it was pointed out Ray Gordon had not replaced sensors properly and of course the light went out. Go there at your own risk it's not what it used to be!Service: Brake service & repair

This is a good shop for honest brake work. I took my son's Mercedes C250 there and they did a great job and for cheaper than the dealership but better quality.. Cool Guys. Great customer service and everything was done in a timely manner..Thanks AgainService: Brake service & repair

Great people, honest, and good value! Read a review on here talking about "watch out for this place". They don't know what they're talking about. They haven't even been to Ray's. Their whole review was based on what their friend said and whatever parts they buy at a parts store and doing it themselves compared to a professional shop with a much higher overhead. Why buy a house already built when you can go build your own house and save some money?!

I shopped around at several locations and with the AdMax coupon, this was among the beat deals, plus it's a local small business. They did a great job on my front brakes. I will return for the back brakes. I recommend them. One downside is they aren't open on the weekends, but it's worth juggling your schedule for.

My daughter is in school in Tallahassee and we are in Atlanta. She called us to say that her car was making a funny noise, when she would press down on her brakes. I told her that sounds like her brakes were scrubbing. I went online and found Ray Gordon Brake Service. I had her to take her car to them, they inspected the brakes and gave us an estimate and we had them to replace them. They were very friendly, courteous, worked in a timely manner and the price was affordable. We are very satisfied with the service!

Went to these guys for squeaky brakes and was told I would need a $650 master cylinder replacement. Went to a different shop for a second opinion and the only problem was dirt in the rotors, which cost $85 to get cleaned at the second shop. I saw the guys at ray gordon with my car on the lift and tires/pads/etc. taken off so they definitely saw the rotors. Either they're incompetent to the point of making $650 mistakes or they were trying a scam. Either way, bad business and disrespectful. Pretty sure they saw a young, probably naive person and attempted to rip me off. I would not trust ray gordon brakes with anything and feel bad for anyone they've tried this on successfully.******I would like to have the refund, if you could advise me on what information you might need and how to go about receiving said compensation. Thank you.

These guys were great! I have a Buick and was having serious problems with my brakes to where I wasn't even comfortable driving. I first took my car to A+ Dealer Alternative on a Friday and they said they would be charging me over $850 and wouldn't have my car back until around Wednesday. After talking to a mechanic friend of mine, I found out they were WAY overcharging me. I called around to some brake specialists and ended up deciding on Ray Gordon. On Monday, I had my car towed from A+ over to Ray Gordon and they not only took care of my brakes, but also fixed a problem with my tire rod that A+ didn't even tell me about. And they got my car to me Monday night! Being a younger girl, I was worried about being taken advantage of but they were very honest, thorough, and efficient. I'd absolutely recommend them!

I have taken down my incorrect review. I was unaware of the issues and reasons behind those issues. I got my Civic 2013 serviced at this shop and got it serviced, there were other issues stemming from bad tires which were explained to me upon my complaint and subsequent visit. I appreciate the professional service at this place and will continue to get my car serviced here for any braking concerns.

Website looks about 20 years old but they sure know how to service brakes. They could double their revenue in one year if they just upgraded their website and IT profile. Ray Gordon is a Tallahassee Gem. Your website should reflect this.
