We have been going here for every car (Volvo) we have had in the last 20 years. Steve owns and runs this business and is one of the most honest men I have ever known in any field. He is a solid business owner who knows Volvos inside and out. His rates are fair and he stands behind his work.

Five stars are not enough to rate the experience I had here. My Volvo broke down while traveling across states over the holidays and instead of having to wait until the next day for repairs, they prioritized my situation and made sure I was up and running so not to delay my trip! Very rare to find such amazing customer service.

Popular Mechanix Team is number 1!! They were able to fix an issue that multiple other shops could not diagnose. Popular Mechanics is The one stop Volvo shop in Tallahassee. Pictured is a most recent purchase from Steve at PM.A 2000 S70 with 172K miles. Why? PM takes care of Volvo customers so well that they sell PM their Volvos when they buy newer Volvos. And PM customers drive far and wide to bring their Volvos to PM for service. I live in GA and my family happily travels over 100 miles roundtrip for oil changes.Where can you buy a older car from the person who took care of the car for over 20 years? And still have $$ and ! Volvo owners in Tallahassee FL know Steve. Get to know Steve, buy a Volvo and drive happy for less!

Steve and his crew have taken great care of my car since freshman year of college. I wouldn t dare take it anywhere else. Not only does he fix the issues but he does his best to tell you about upcoming ones too. Excellent and honest team . Highly recommend

Being a Lady, one of the most dreaded places to go has been an auto repair shop; not so with Steve and his staff. I am very comfortable, I never feel out of place. Steve and his crew are hands down the best at what they do. Take it from experience. A Volvo is different. Can't always explain why, but never take a Volvo to a regular mechanic no matter how simple the issue seems. And these guys are top notch and great people. I actually miss my car partly because I can't bring what I have now to them.

Wow! I thought I was thrilled to own a Volvo, but I m even more thrilled to know this mechanic. Their customer service is impressive, their expertise is unsurpassed and the experience was amazing.They know Volvos and help you get many years of trouble free service. And, they do this at a fraction of the cost of a dealership. I am particular when it comes to choosing mechanics, and these guys did not let me down. I can recommend them without reservation for all Volvo needs.

Quoted me 9k to fix my volvo, I did the job myself with all oem parts from Sweden for under 2k labor costed more than everything else he wanted 6k in labor struts took me 4 hours and I'm not even a pro that's 1 hour per shock he didn't stack labor for all the parts that would be replaced at the same time and again he wanted to tax me on labor almost 1000 just in taxes asked for a parts sheet in order of important to east i.portant and he gave a scribble sheet of parts and tremendously over priced parts wanted 900 with labor for brakes and rotors I found brakes and rotors for 200 new radiator he wanted another 1000 with labor I found it for 98$ from Sweden again this dude is a con artist he even told me my pcv system is fine when it fails the glove test if you know anything about cars don't have yours fixed here!!!!

I recently moved to the area, and in less than a month of me being here my car stuttered and I had to turn the car off and back on to get it to start. When I did that I got a message saying my "transmission needed serviced". I immediately began to panic slightly, because I just moved to a new city and didn't have a clue where to take my car. I called a few of my coworkers and was referred to another mechanic, he didn't work on Volvo's so he recommended Steve. I went in and was greeted warmly. I let him know the issues and he said he would see what was going on. When I got a phone call the next day I braced myself, but Steve let me know that it was a sensor and the transmission didn't need to be replaced (Thank you JESUS!!!). I was able to pick my car up and wasn't beat over the head with the price. I won't be taking my car anywhere else, as long as I have a Volvo (100,000 miles more lol) I will take it to the Popular Mechanix. It's just a good feeling knowing your car is in good hands!

The owner here is Steve. If you are looking to have any work done on a Volvo, there is no other logical place to turn. I know a fair bit about cars, yet every time I talk to Steve (or any of his staff) I learn something about Volvos; because, these folks are true experts in their field. Kindness, professionalism, and customer service are not a once in a while thing here; but rather the order of the day, every day. Popular Mechanix is the only place that I would consider taking my Volvo due to their business practices and integrity. I have paid $200 to have a car towed there (past several other shops along the way) simply because I can trust them. If you deal with them once, you ll want to own a Volvo for the rest of your life, just so you know that whenever something goes wrong - these guys will be your service provider. My current Volvo is at 297,000 miles at the time that I am typing this. That tells you everything you need to know about the way they maintain your car.

These guys provide honest, dependable service. They do great work. I have been taking my Volvo to them for a few years. They are the best around, hands down! They definitely know Volvos and they care about their customers. I would not take my car to anyone else.

I recently evacuated the Tampa FL area due to Hurricane Irma. On the way out of state my 2001 Volvo S40 started to overheat. I had to call AAA and have my car towed almost 200 miles to Tallahassee, FL. While there, I found Popular Mechanix on Google and had my car towed to them for repairs. From the first phone call with Steve, I knew my car would be in good hands. They quickly got my car into the shop, diagnosed, and repaired. It turned out I needed a thermostat and engine coolant temperature sensor. This shop could easily have told me that I needed a far more expensive repair, but Steve was honest and caring about the whole ordeal. This repair was completed on Friday, September 8, 2017 and Steve even called and left me a voicemail today (9/13/17) to check and see how we are doing! I would ABSOLUTELY reccomend this shop to anyone needing repairs on their Volvo! Thanks so much, Steve!! You are truly one of the "good guys".

If I could give popular mechanix a 30 star review I would! This shop is amazing, they are trustworthy, honest and helped me fixed my car when I didn't know what to do or what was wrong with it. The customer service was amazing and I am really glad I went to popular mechanix!! I would highly reccomend them If you have a volvo or any car and want an honest place to check it out!. Took my 2004 Volvo S60 in for some repairs and they did some solid work! Got my A/C running like new for a very very reasonable price! Will be back.

EXCELLENT WORK: Having Popular Mechanix change your oil is extremely important. Why? Because when the mechanics there "Service" your car they examine it carefully, so that they may inform you of circumstances that may become serious problems, saving you time and money!

My car and possessions were ransacked by Popular Mechanix. After bringing it to their attention they told me I must have been burglarized and that was not their problem. This is not true since they were in possession of my keys and all the doors were fine after the fact. No evidence of a break in what's so ever. My glovebox has always been jammed shut and they actually pulled it out of the car to get inside. My car has been torn apart by these people and of course there is no way to prove they caused this damage. This is a place of thieves and destruction is there only skill. My bill said "no repairs" yet my car came back to me with a destroyed interior and, all of my things in the trunk had been moved to the inside of the car where there were maggots and water drenching all of the paperwork I have on my vehicle. These nasty people don't deserve a dime after what they've taken from probably many more people than just myself.

My wife and I have been coming to these guys for repairs for the past few years and not one regret. They fix what you ask them to fix, they let you know if something is wonky and always gives us great deals. Never had a problem with them and totally recommend them to anyone!
