10/10 recommend!! They are completely fair and honest about the pricing, what needs to be fixed and why, so you need not worry about being ripped off or scammed here. Mary Grace walked me through every part that needed to be fixed and was more than happy to schedule me as soon as she and Craig could get me in. My car is now driving nice & smoothly, and hasn t done so in a while! Thank you so much A+ alternative!! I will definitely be back! :)

Have sent my truck here twice now, each time they ve fixed the problem way faster, with more transparency, and for far less than the actual dealership ever has. The best part is, when you call, an actual person (who knows what she s talking about) picks up not an answering system.

Right before Christmas break, my son s (FSU student) car would not start. I live far away, but decided to have him try A+ based on their reviews. I m so glad that I did! Mary Grace got us in 3 days before the break even though they were fully booked. They quickly determined the problem and had the car back to my son the following day. It saved our holiday, as he was supposed to be coming home for the first time in 6 months. I highly recommend this shop. They were quick and honest, which are 2 things that you rarely find anymore.Service: General repairs & maintenance

These folks are AWESOME. Recommended by several coworkers, and they did not disappoint! My daughter has a Subaru Outback and I have a Subaru Forester. Excellent work and fair prices. Honest staff. First time I used them and had to have an engine replaced in my Honda Pilot. The work was done on time and well under what they quoted me. And my car runs great. This will be my new garage for repairs

Craig and Mary Grace are top notch folks. They are honest, friendly, and simply good people. Their service is second to none and their prices are more than fair. What I appreciate about them most is that they tell you what's needed to fix the problem and nothing else. They might make other suggestions for preventative measures down the road, but they don't pressure you. They're not out to make any extra money on service. I am so glad we have an automotive repair facility in Tallahassee that considers honesty and integrity paramount. I have recommended many friends and family here and they have been just as happy. This is the best mechanic shop in the Big Bend bar none. They are honest and family run. I've taken vehicles from Toyotas, Ford's, GM, and Hondas. They've always done a great job. They aren't the cheapest but they are the best. You will save money versus going to the dealer and you know these folks are going to do what's right.Plus they have a friendly bull dog on staff wagging its tail waiting for you to say hello.

Great place. I had my high-mileage Ford Fiesta serviced here for a couple of years and they were always fair. At least once or twice I took it in with something that ended up being a non-issue and they never charged me for the diagnostic time. Highly recommend.

Knowledgeable mechanic, family owned and operated, honest and fair. They will let you know everything that is wrong with the vehicle, and they will tell you how important each issue is to get repaired. They just tell you how it is. It's up to you if you want to get the repairs, no pressure. If there is someone who does it better or cheaper or a service they don't offer, they let you know and aren't afraid to refer you.Bottom line: They want to be helpful and get your vehicle working properly. They are a great family who do a great job. We have taken our vehicles to them for five years or so and have not been disappointed with their honesty and persistence in fixing the problem. Their prices are not necessarily the lowest, but knowing that they are only fixing problems that really need fixing and giving honest advice about the others I think we come out ahead.

What's not to like!? In most cases I am a DIY'er when it comes to maintaining my car. I have been a customer with A+ Dealer Alternative for approximately four years. I have had nothing but great experiences. In my opinion they have been fin-nominal in regards to their dedication to customer service, professionalism, honesty, and reasonable pricing with diagnosing/repairs of my car. They only make recommendations on parts that need to fixed/replaced immediately and other parts in the future that need to be taken care of. Highly recommended and I will continue to bring my car to them for things that I don't feel comfortable doing myself.

I was passing through Tallahassee over the Easter weekend, when my service engine light went on. I thought I might be stranded there for a day, but they were willing and able to look at my car right away. They were very honest with the problem, stating up front that it could be the ignition coil and/or the ignition control module. But after some investigating, they told me it was only the ignition coil, and had me on my way back on the interstate in about 2 hours after a quick repair. This is a small family owned business and a little hard to find because it's in the back of another building. I had a very good experience here and am thankful I found them.

I was having serious problems with my brakes and my parents had been to A+ so they recommended them to me. I brought my car in on a Friday afternoon and they called that night giving a ridiculously high quote and telling me the car wouldn't be ready until the following Wednesday. After talking to a friend of mine who is a mechanic, I realized they were seriously overcharging me and ended up taking my car to another place. They may do good work on some things, but don't take your vehicle in for any brake work.

We were traveling from Massachusetts and shortly after crossing into Florida had a loud rattle from under our 2013 Toyota. We called the local Toyota dealer to see if we could bring it in to look at our vehicle. This was on a Wednesday and we were told that they could not get us in until at least Friday or we could stop by and maybe they might be able to squeeze us in but no guarantees and this was a good half hour plus ride from where we were staying. We wanted to leave Friday and the maybe we got from them was not something we wanted to hear. Our friends who recently just moved to Tallahassee and we were staying with knew of A+ Dealer Alternative though his daughter who has lived in that area for years and brings her car in to repair. So we call and we were told that at the end of the day that they were leaving to go on vacation but to bring the car buy and they will take a quick look at it to see if they could help. So we did and within five minutes the car was in the shop. In less than ten minutes they pulled the car out and told us that the heat shield bolt came loose and ended up making a bigger hole in the heat shield and all they had to do was to move the heat shield over and tighten up the bolt which they did. Eventually we would have to get a more permeant solution but for now it will work. So problem fixed, and the cost of this....zero, no charge. Being an out of towner with a problem that had to be fixed before we travelled on they could have soaked us but they did not. And by they way they were very friendly throughout the whole process. Really a pleasure doing business with them.

I am a single mom and my dad passed away years ago. I am very paranoid about getting taken advantage of with auto repair shops. So naturally when I had car problems I had no idea where to take my car. The woman who took care of my daughter suggested that we use A Plus. I was aprehensive, but any worries I had were quickly put to rest when I met the man and his wife who own the company. This is a family owned business. The wife runs the desk and they even have their children up there playing in the lobby. It gives you the feeling as if your family were the ones that owned the shop. Trust me when I say you will be glad you trusted them to take care of your car. Not pushy, not overpriced. Just fair.

I am a little confused as to how my review was deleted from this business. Oh well, I will share my experience again because I am still shocked it happened. Around 8 years ago when I was in college, I brought my car to this shop and was informed I would need a new alternator costing close to $600 for my 2002 nissan sentra. I didn't have the money at the time and left in tears. They charged my battery for me and I decided to get another opinion. Brought my car to another shop and all I needed was a new battery for $72. I had my car for three more years and never had problems with the alternator. Either this business does not know how to properly diagnose car problems (scary) or they take advantage of people for their own monetary gains (even more scary). I still reside in Tallahassee and make sure to inform people not to take their car here.

Honest mechanic I have come across after a long time. Being just out of the warranty and with low miles the local dealer want me to pay a large amount of money for a known issue(timing belt chirp) for my Acura. Looking for an alternative one of my friends recommended A+. They gave me a reasonable quote to get it fixed with them. But they have advised me to call Acura customer service for a resolution instead of pushing to get it repaired with them. Guess what.Acura has approved the repair free of cost.I owe the A+ big time..

Our daughter is in college in Tallahassee & when she had car trouble, we were apprehensive about where to send her, not being in town to help. A friend told us we could trust the folks at A+ Dealer Alternative. The car was repaired promptly, correctly and at a fair price. We are very thankful.

I have taken multiple vehicles in to have service here and have always been pleased with the result. We have had a couple of problems that were difficult to identify and each time they worked on the problem until it was resolved. They are fair and friendly. I would definitely recommend them.
