I ve been taking my 06 Mercedes ML 500 here for at least 6 years now. Joe and his team actually care and do what s right to get the job done. Reasonable prices and will give you an honest opinion if it should be done or not. He s done so many things for me out of loyalty that he shouldn t have, which I appreciate so much! My car is at 170k miles and driving strong because of them!

I needed to get my clutch and IMS replaced in my 01 Boxster. Joe conducted a thorough assessment and found other items needing replacement. Very grateful to take care of other stuff while the transmission was out fo the car. I highly recommend German Tech!

Joe s service level is authentic, kind, and professional. He does an excellent job communicating issues and price and does his best to work through issues. He was beyond considerate with my time constraints. 10/10 would recommend for those with German vehicles. A classic touch!

Awesome, professional staff providing exceptional service. This place outperforms/ outshines any and all German made car Dealerships. They have corrected errors from the Mercedes dealership, they give honest feedback and only fix what needs fixed without overcharging for unneeded repairs. I highly recommend and highly encourage German made car owners go here.

Joe Vatter is very professional. He cares about the owners and their love for their cars. His prices are very reasonable and he is very detailed in his work. I have a '89 Porsche 944S2. I trust him. I've worked with other mechanics in St. Pete and Sarasota. Their prices are almost double the price for the same work. He's been working with the German cars since childhood. I definitely recommend him.

About a year ago my radiator crapped out while driving. Fortunately, I was able to creep along until I reached this shop. I have a 2004 Audi convertible and was on the fence of just selling or repairing. They not only gave me a fantastic deal (I think the shop was slow at the time) it was fixed quickly. They also made a few recommendations to keep it running smooth. No pressure. No upsell.I only had this one experience with the shop but after reading some of the reviews I had to speak up and say the last thing you could accuse this shop of is a lack of knowledge with Eurpoean cars.These guys were more than fair in price when many shops would have tried to take advantage of the situation.Car still runs beautifully, by the way! Love my Audi and will keep her forever and thanks to knowledgeable mechanics, she runs better than most newer cars on the road today.

Herr Vater is from Germany and has a genuine passion for striving for excellence in repairing all issues with your German automobile. His prices are very fair and reasonable. He is repairing my 1989 Porsche 944S2. If he can't find it, he will do his best to fabricate it to perfection. He keeps me informed of his progress and pricing. He is now my go-to mechanic because of his professionalism, technical expertise, and fair & reasonable pricing.If you have a German-made car, this is the place to take it. I definitely recommend!

I don t know much about cars!! all i know is i drive a BMW & i was referred to these guys. I went in there not sure what i needed done & i left more confused. He looked at my car for less then 20 seconds. oh yeah that s going to be $1200.00 Like what ? no information. no diagnosis. no steps or papers. Is this how you guys operate 24/7 or did i just run into an off employee who wasn t in the best mood? I couldn t even tell you his name 100%, john maybe?! very unprofessional! maybe because I m young but please don t treat other customers the same. I went somewhere else and got an $800 quote with all the information on what would be done and what needed to be done to fix the car. $400 cheaper!!! plus they actually treated me like a customer. Thank you for loosing a true customer. please look around before going here!

Very helpful and extremely reasonable! Had a problem with my boxster that required some exploration and problem solving. Joe was communicative, respectful of cost, and ultimately got it fixed for a lot less than expected. Absolutely recommend this shop for all porsche needs!

Before I came to German Tech Inc I went to a Jiffy Lube where they were unable to change my dead passenger headlight on my 2007 beetle. I was shocked that they weren't able to fix it especially since I bought the correct bulb myself. A friend recommended this auto shop and referred me to Stephen and said he would be able to fix everything no problem. Stephen was extremely kind and knowledgably and gave me a fantastic deal! As a woman who doesn't know anything about cars, I am always worried of getting taken advantage of and/or being talked down to. I am so grateful to have found someone I can come to with all my car problems who will kindly explain the problem and won't over charge when being fixed. I will continue to come to Stephen as long as I am in Florida and would definitely recommend him to anyone I know!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I learned of German Tech, Inc. through a friend that had used them. I contacted them, made an appointment and took the car in. All the work I wanted to be done was done, in the time indicated it would be done and all the work was done to my complete satisfaction. I have used German Tech numerous times since the first visit, and am very pleased with the work product, cost and end result. I have a much older Mercedes Benz E-320, and this guy knows what he is talking about when it comes to European Import automobiles. Trustworthy, knowledgeable and honest. I used to bring my 1985 BMW 325e to Joe back in the early 90's and I now have him work on my 2012 328i.He's been servicing BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi and VW for decades in this location. I highly recommend German Tech!!

Joe is a mechanic with years of knowledge. When you question him and he gives you his answer; and it doesn't fit with your internet expertise you cry and say its Joe's fault. No his professional answer is not what you wanted to hear. So as a BMW man and a father of a Luxury Import Mechanic in Indiana; Joe will and has always gotten my business. Unfortunately the shop is very limited in knowledge. I came in for a water pump for a VW GTI MK7 and because I was having random misfires i asked them to clean up the carbon build up as the manifold had to be removed to replace water pump. They showed me the clean up they did initially and wasn't the best but I let that slide. Then they call me and tell me that my 2 month old coils and spark plugs had to be replaced cuz i still have misfires. ( I assume they broke the coils trying to remove them). Then my car still has misfires and they just sent me on my way to see what the car does... Whatever that means. Save your money and find a reputable german shop. This unfortunately isn't one.

Had a coolant line pop on my 996 GT2, repaired it myself and pressure checked the system, all came back good.Called Joe at German Tech to get a quote on preventative maintenance with pinning the rest and he got very argumentative with me as to why I would want to do this if my cooling system had no leaks. I told him there was info all over the net and Porsche forums, including an article by Sharkwerks as to why one would do this and he then asked if I believed everything I read on the internet. Joe then said the coolant lines popping applies to a very small percentage of cars and compared it to the IMS issue with non-TT/GT cars and said it's blown way out of proportion. That's not what I've read, I see hundreds of entries all over the forums of people saying their lines popped and it was dangerous as their car fishtailed at high speed.Not sure if Joe was having a bad day or what but I won't take my car there after this conversation and I am seeing the reviews here Joe can be this way so I'm not the only one

The best thing you can say about a mechanic is that he's honest. Joe is very honest and experienced in German automobiles. I would trust you with the smallest or the largest problem on my Mercedes.

Joe was amazing. Had AC issues and engine was overheating. Had tune-up done, wasn't running right, took it back two different times still not running right. I would never let this co. Work on any car I own. Now it won't start at all, may not because of their work, but I wouldn't trust them.
