10/10 AMAZING experience here. I went in and they completely fixed all of my brake pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, everything. In one day, I dropped it off around 9/9:30 am and picked it up around 4pm. And it was fair pricing, I paid with cash for a cheaper price. Definitely would go again with any future car repair.

Had a failed transmission with metallic grinding, Family Auto said transmission could not be rebuilt, 6k for new transmission which was false, it can be rebuilt. They recommended dropping the pan and fluid / filter change, charged 400 dollars for that. Stated it might fix it. Did nothing to fix problem. Called a few Transmission shops, they say the action was pointless. Should have put that money towards transmission replacement. Was told since I "authorized" I must pay. Would not budge a cent on the bill or take any responsibility for bad recommendations. Family Auto...You got your 400 from me, but lost a customer.Do not go to this shop, they are playing games.

My father gave me his prized possession when he turned 92 years old. A 2002 Chevy Camaro, rally sport anniversary, edition, my father was a collector of Camaros, and this one happen to be the best one he ever owned. This car is super clean, low mileage, mint condition, clean motor, it s a real treasure, It is very special to me, so when it started acting up, it was very devastating to say the least. I had a recurring issues with throttle body and sensor s. Therefore the car kept going into reduced engine power mode and was very difficult to drive. It would be good for 100 miles and then act up again. I thought for sure I would never be able to resolve the issue for good. I was at a loss afraid I would have to sell this or get rid of it because it wasn t reliable enough for me and my children. I was so very heartbroken. We decided to go with a new mechanic one my sister s boyfriend uses for his truck. So we gave it a try. I was very nervous being the third mechanic now to work on my Camaro. I asked him to take his time to drive the car lot. And make sure the issue was resolved. Because it seems to come back within So many miles. No matter what we do to it. Family Auto must have looked every single thing over on my car because they found the root cause of this issue. And trust me, it was a needle in a haystack, because my car has been running poorly for a long time. You have a customer for life family auto. Thank you so much! God bless you and your whole family. I'm very pleased with my first visit here. I had a lot of things wrong with my truck and Ray and his team worked very hard to get everything done so I wouldn't need to rent a car for more than a day.

Had a weird wobble for a few days while driving. I was in town doing some dog training, and decided to stop at the nearest auto place. Looked up a few reviews in the area and theirs stuck out more because of how friendly and understanding they are. We drove in hoping they could assist us the same day and they were happy to help us immediately. Told us what was wrong and didn t charge any weird fees or try adding anything else. Great experience, speedy, and fair pricing.

I just moved from Colorado to Florida and Family Auto is by far my favorite Mechanic in Sarasota county. Family owned, honest professionals who offer great customer service with competitive prices. They had to put out fires from other mechanics I went to in the past and Would show me in detail the problems and fixed them in reasonable time. In an industry full of salesmen / unethical people family auto is a breath of fresh air. No up sales, no gimmicks, just straight shooting all day! Recommend this business to anybody looking to repair their vehicle.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!! FOR GRINDING THE BRAKE DISCS THEY CHARGED ME $160, THAT JOB DOES NOT EXCEED $100 BY MUCH, IF YOU ARE NOT KNOWN THEY WILL CHARGE YOU VERY EXPENSIVE... THE MECHANIC IS A LATIN GUY IF HE IS VERY GOOD AT HIS JOB AND HONEST, EVERYTHING THE OPPOSITE OF THE OWNERS WHO WERE THE ONE WHO CHARGED ME. 0 STARS FOR THAT WORKSHOP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I brought my 2015 Mazda Miata in and had air conditioning fixed and my windshield washer was not pumping the windshield washer fluid out. They fixed both in a timely manner and the price was very reasonable, will definitely be using them for my automotive care. Thanks to Michelle and the team.

Great family owned business. Have used them for mostly tire service. They plugged tire from a screw that punctured my tire and I used them for a tire purchase for a full size spare tire mount. They actually can order tires for your vehicle and put them on for a good price. Will definitely use them in the future for my oil changes,too. They do good reliable work. Great shop.

We had our van serviced here. It took twice as long as expected and I m still writing a five star review! The circumstances were out of their control and their team was resourceful enough to complete the job effectively. Throughout the process they were communicative and not to mention honest with their pricing. We definitely recommend this shop! Super kind and down to Earth people which is tough to find in a mechanic shop. I showed up here with my 2013 Elantra for general maintenance. Because of my job, I don't drive much. That made me susceptible to a rodent calling my car their home at some point. Family Auto made me aware of this, waited for my OK, then acted swiftly to replace my cabin air filter and serpentine belt.Friendly staff. My daughter was driving from Naples to Gainesville on I75 and was caught up in a multi-car accident, 2 hours from Naples. Our car was not drivable and needed towed to a nearby repair center. I was out of state and unfamiliar with the area. A quick google search and I took a chance on SFASC. Great decision! Caring, understanding and dedicated team! Thanks for helping my daughter and I through a tough experience and getting her back on the road!

Being new to Sarasota, I was apprehensive about finding a mechanic as I had just purchased a 2004 Ford Ranger from a dealer a few hundred miles away. Ray was thorough in his inspection, honest and communicative. He is competitive with big online retailers for parts and rectified the few issues with the truck. I was out of the shop and on the road quickly.Ray and his staff are friendly and knowledgable. I feel very lucky to have found Family Auto and would highly recommend them to anyone in need. A good mechanic is hard to find and I just found them!Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

The entire team at Family Auto is the best in town. I live over 45 minutes away and still only chose to have my Acura serviced by Family Auto. The close attention to detail, honesty, service and efficiency is what really stands out to me. I have never been to a more honest and reliable shop for service. Not only did they save me over $600, they also saved my trust in mechanic shops!! I dropped my vehicle off this week and told them to do whatever it needed , they didn t take advantage of my pockets, they simply repaired what was needed the same day and sent me on my happy way. 10 stars. It is so hard to find a trustworthy mechanic in a new town. I am so happy I found Ray & his auto center. He treated me fairly & honestly and gave me a great price. He even noticed my air conditioner was not great & hooked me at no additional charge. I have already recommended him to all my coworkers and will contact him for all my auto repair needs. I highly recommend!

Best family run auto shop around. I had a bad timing chain on my Cadillac and had it towed in. Repair was fast and efficient within a day or two and the car runs great. It was a major repair because you practically have to pull the whole engine. Staff is friendly and understanding. This is our new place for all things automotive.

I first checked out Family Auto through a neat package offer that included several oil changes and other additional services, and I am very glad that I did! The atmosphere has a lot more of a family feel than most mechanic places I have visited, everyone I interacted with was down to earth, helpful, and friendly. When I got my oil changed, Ray took the extra mile and thoughtfully repaired my front window crank by transferring the back handle(which is barely used) to the front, so that I could wind down my window easier, super cool! The best part is that they repaired my A/C, for a very reasonable price, and it is now blowing ice cold as never before! Great experience and I will be back for sure

I have been searching for years for a mechanic/auto shop that I can trust and are reasonably priced. This true family run business. The office manager, Ashley is so considerate and treats you as top priority. I shop around for everything before buying. So, when I needed tires for the second time on my SUV, I called for pricing. Their total (all in) price was cheaper than the chain company's SALE pricing (buy 3 get 1 free). I have since had to take my car in twice and they have been fast and honest. While I waited for my SUV, I overheard conversations that is unheard of in this day and age. " I did my best to keep the costs down for you. I didn't charge you for"....etc. They are the absolute best and you won't be disappointed.

Best auto shop in town! I have a 2008 Honda civic. The starter died on me. I called up Sarasota's Family Auto Services and spoke with Kaeley at the front desk. They got the car in right away and replaced the starter at a good price. The civic fires up perfectly now. The crew there is really friendly and honest, exactly what you need from a mechanic.

I stopped here based on positive reviews and the need for a tire repair, brakes, and an oil change. This is truly a family service place - not only did I chat with the owners, but I met their granddaughter as well. They all made me feel right at home as if we d known each other for years even though I m from out of state.The price was reasonable for the work and they even washed off the 1000+ miles ofgrime on the car! If you are looking for excellent vehicle service from some down to earth folks at competitive rates, I encourage you to stop in here.

I have had the pleasure of having Family Auto, Ray and his crew, service my vehicles for over 20 years now. I have been made to feel like 'family' by them. We have shared good and rough times and Ray is always there to help. His service is above superb. Fair pricing in all areas of your automotive needs from oil to tires, brakes to lights. They never hesitate to take on the job and complete it well. I highly recommend them to everyone. If Ray says " it needs to be done " then have it done. Remember it is no fun sitting in the rain waiting to jump start your car after Ray just said " You need a new battery. "

Ray is such a great guy and super patient and understanding! i went in to get a bunch of stuff fixed in my new lemon of a car and he did an amazing job and worked w me on prices and even fixed a coil for free! i just picked her up today and drove around for an hour and she ran even better than when i bought her a month ago! my family has been going to them for awhile too because they always beat any quote they got from other mechanics! the whole crew is very capable! patient! and polite!

I know Ray from working at a Pool company down the road. We take all our fleet vehicles there. One day my personal vehicle starting puking oil all over the driveway. I know a bit about these things and judging by the amount of oil I figured I better have the real pros handle it. Ray called me back within a few hours explaining a few different gaskets failed in my engine (kind of figured with my luck). This is no easy job. It involves a lot of work and tearing down of the engine etc. I was a bit overwhelmed but Ray and the crew got it up and running again at a fair price! Hasn t dripped a drop of oil since and it s been over 1,000+ miles later. Family auto is awesome! Job well done! Now hopefully my luck changes and it stays that way for a bit!! Highly recommend!!!

Brought my Smart car in complaining about an odd sort of wobble and a strange pull to the right when driving, thinking it was an alignment issue. Brought it in around 3 PM on a Friday, and they lifted the car and showed me all four of my tires were in terrible shape (the car is going on 6 years old, and I believe the tires had never been changed since it was manufactured. I bought it used, so the previous owner must of just worn it down until they needed to be replaced and then ditched it) and on the verge of blowing out. Had tears all over it and the rubber was super thin and worn out. Uneven wear, no tread.They rush ordered four new tires for my car, and had them put on and the car realigned all in 2 hours the following Monday. I thought it was going to easily cost 1k+ but it was well below that! And the car drives better than it ever has, I d almost forgotten what a smooth ride felt like! No idea how they got the tires in so fast.Side note: They even dispose of old tires for you (something like 14 dollars extra?) and even recycle them! Which is a huge plus. I drive a smart car, it d be ironic to have the tires go in a landfill.Thanks Family Auto! I ll be referring anyone who needs a mechanic here. So nice to know there s affordable mechanics who service specialty cars.
