I had such an amazing experience with Gary at Barbics Transmission. I shipped my Honda minivan down here from California, needed a new transmission among other things. Gary went above and beyond to make sure the van was right, even though it took us a few tries. He was extremely communicative, answers the phone, all of the time, is kind and looks you in the eye when speaking. I highly recommend Barbic Transmission in Sarasota Fl.

You can look near and far and still be hard to find a place and people like Barbics. Old school service. Absolutely A Plus service. Just can't beat Gary, his professionalism and treatment is exceptional!! I found Barbic via the internet without any personal reference from someone who had had work done successfully. Trying to find someone to trust with the recommendation to rebuild or replace a transmission in a vehicle is not easy, and I was super happy to find Gary. Gary was very knowledgeable with our particular vehicle (2003 Toyota Tundra) and I believe he did a great job of pricing out the various options and explaining the value of doing the job in different way. Ultimately, Barbic did a full rebuild of our transmission with new parts, instead of putting in a used transmission and is backing it with a warranty. The work was not cheap but I believe in the product and Gary's shop to back up their work. The truck drives great and was worth rebuilding the value into.

Brought my Sons 7.3 in and needed a complete 4wd Transmission rebuild. Knowing it was not going to be a quick fix or cheap we were very nervous. Gary was very honest and transparent through the entire process and the price was extremely fair. Given the way the current economy is it s refreshing to deal with a truly honest and reputable company. I highly recommend Barbic s Transmission to anyone!Service: Transmission

Attention to detail! I spoke to Gary on the phone who greeted me when I arrived and took my information. When I returned to pick up my car I was pleased to be invited to meet the gentleman who rebuilt my transmission. I could tell Robert was a master of his craft by speaking with him for that short time. Then I was introduced to Steve and Austin who installed my new transmission. I felt welcomed into their world and really appreciated being treated more as a guest than just a customer. Keep up the good work.Service: Transmission

After self diagnosing a transmission issues and thinking my truck was dead I brought it in for a second opinion and it was probably the best decision I made all year, Gary and his staff were extremely professional understanding and saved me around $3500 worth of unnecessary work that might ve been pushed by another company. Inspected for vibration at low speed that I thought was from the drivetrain. Gary the service manager knew from listening that it was corroded heat shield on exhaust, not transmission or transfer case, and took the time to put it up on a hoist and show me, both clamps that were supposed to hold it in place were corroded and loose. He was super nice and charged nothing for 15 minutes of his time. Honest and expert, this is the place to come for transmission, they won t suggest unnecessary repairs.

Gary is the best! This guy saved me tons with his honesty and integrity. Literally thousands under misquotes from other shops trying to make money. They are second to none... Honest, knowledgeable, fast turnaround time, helpful & very fair pricing! They do more than transmissions also. Gary is the absolute most honest and talented Master Mechanic in all of Sarasota County. He was my go-, to tech at Lexus..and I have followed him to Barbics!He is an honest guy and I totally respect his opi ions and work. I brought my car to Barbic s with a last bit of hope before junking it. Gary was a pleasure from the second he picked up the phone. Let me know to bring it in for a free diagnostic. To my surprise my transmission was not bad(like I was told by previous transmission shop) he figured out the real problem. Got my car fixed up within days for a great price AND had his guys drop my car off to me at work! I will forever do business with Barbic s & recommend them to everyone I know!

A few weeks ago, I came here for a second opinion. I had a sensor issue that is generally a pretty easy fix and the other place I took it to replaced it but the issue persisted. I brought my car here for a second opinion, which they did for free, and told me the other mechanic replaced the wrong sensor, and even showed and explained to me the issue in depth. They saved me hundreds of dollars of what would have been useless repairs the other mechanic was suggesting. I would recommend them to anyone!Service: Transmission

You ll find nothing here but good, honest people whose company mission is doing right by their customers here. Had a complete trans rebuild on a 2017 Silverado, had it back a couple times after initial overhaul for some shuttering. Turns out they got a bad batch of torque converters, every visit was warranty until they got the job done right, got me in and out every time, great attitudes from everyone I dealt with.Service: Transmission

This is the best transmission shop in the area. They serviced my transmission and installed a pressure switch that I provided. Gary was great, did what I needed done and didn't try to up sell me. I highly recommend Barbic's Transmission.

The guys at Barbic's know how a shop should be run. They diagnosed my problem in under 10 minutes and gave me an estimate for repairs based on the diagnostic. I was informed that if they encountered any internal issues once they dropped the pan I would be made aware before proceeding.Their diagnosis, a bad temperature sensor, was indeed my problem. They replaced it in under an hour for the estimated cost.100% recommend Barbic's!

I had the transmission on my 2009 Chevrolet HHR repaired at Barbic's Transmission. They came highly recommended to me for transmission repair. My wife drove the HHR to their shop. From the time she walked into the shop, she received nothing but respect. She dealt with Gary. Gary was honest, friendly, personable, and he did everything possible to make my wife comfortable. After talking with him, she called me and told me that I had to come and pick her up. I drove the 45 minutes to go get her. When I walked into the shop, I received the same respect that she did. I met everybody that was working, got a tour of the shop, and a detailed explanation of what needed to be done to our HHR. I was probably there for an hour. The next day, I got a call from Gary letting me know that the work was complete and that we could pick up the HHR. When we got there this time, we both received the same professional respect. Gary showed us the parts that needed replaced and why they needed to be replaced. The owner of the shop was there working, so Gary took us out to meet the owner. Everybody that we met were outstanding gentlemen. I was afraid that the transmission was going to need to be replaced. Anybody could have taken advantage of my wife, and sold her a transmission, but these guys did not. They saved us money and fixed the HHR properly. It runs great again. No problems. The job was done fast and properly. Gary is a great guy, and he took care of my wife, like he would have taken care of his own wife. Gary and the crew have earned much respect from me, and when the time comes again to have service on either of my vehicles, I will go back to Barbic's Transmission Repair.Service: Transmission

Gary and his team came in clutch exactly when I needed it. My car was having a major transmission problem, and they told me that it was probably gonna be a couple of days. But somehow Gary and his team worked their magic and had me out the very same day. Very honest and upfront people! They tell you what the problem is thoroughly, and what they did to fix it. Their team is very specialized considering the area. If I ever have a transmission problem I'll be returning to the same shop that's backed Sarasota for over a decade.

A couple hours ago we picked up our 7.3L F-350...they did TWO things I doubt very few transmission/repair/automobile places would even consider doing.First, I noticed the valance on the front bumper body kit had been secured. We were missing a nut on the driver's side...and a transmission shop put a nut on the bolt holding the very corner of the valance to the body kit. What transmission shop does body work?? None! but these guys went out of their way and DID it.Second, they checked out the truck and found a sensor had gone bad...since they had a vehicle in stock, that took the exact sensor...they took it off their vehicle and put it on ours - no charge.Are they going to do that every time for every body? I can't speak to that...but for a shop to even consider it, for it to cross their minds, that tells me more about the caliber of the people I'm dealing with...and I'd rather go to them than anyone else.Service: Transmission
