Coming from out of town we need a pre-purchase inspection on a car we wanted to buy. We contacted Mark the owner of Personal Auto Repair he was great. He said bring it by and I'll check it out for you... he gave the car a thorough inspection and was very informative we really appreciated it and we highly recommend

We found this shop through the purchase of a used VW Tiguan, previous owner had used this shop. Shop is very clean and well run, the owner is very knowledgeable. They have NOT suggested repairs that are not needed, they are not hard sell.

Mark is a phenomenal business owner. His knowledge of cars and diagnostic abilities are superb. His shop is always well kept and his employees are just as professional and knowledgeable.

I gave a one star because there was no option for a zero star. I left my Lexus SUV with the owner of this place four months ago to get some simple work done. After four months, three visits and a handful of promises, the main work, a seat weld, replacement of a radio mast motor, seat motor was still not done. All so got was a promise each month that the work would get done by the end of the month. I finally had to take the vehicle to another shop. When you ask the owner to get it done, all he does is talk and talk. It s always some excuse that could have been rectified by a simple parts order and installation. After I figured into this equation my lost time from work and the insurance I paid on a vehicle that I could not use (He had taken the seat out but didn t do the cuts and welds as promised not had he ordered a new seat motor.) it would have been far cheaper and better if I had taken my SUV to my regular mechanic in Tampa or even the Lexus dealership. Thank God, the vehicle is paid off or I would have been out of that money too. How can anyone run a business this way? I certainly cannot. I would not recommend this place to anyone and would actually recommend against it.

Mark is very professional and knowledgeable on all makes and models. His prices are very fair as well. I have had all of my cars serviced at Personal Auto for over 30 years now. Mark (owner) has always been prompt, thorough and completely informative. Not to mention he is quite courteous and super knowledgeable about anything cars. You really will never find anyone with more knowledge about automobiles. He has always told me EXACTLY what was wrong, what it would take to repair, precisely how much it would cost for that repair and when it would be done. He's never been wrong with this in over 30 years. His diagnosis have always been spot on. And his repairs always stay repaired. I very highly recommend Personal Auto and I have the highest degree of trust in Mark. You really will not be steered wrong here.

Three of my neighbors told me about Mark's shop. They did a great job. I was never pressured to get more work done than was needed. The price was very affordable. I have been looking for an honest auto mechanic since I've moved to this area. I was so impressed with Mark and the work they preformed he will continue to get all of my all business from now on. My sister also goes there now!

Mark and his team are second to none. Never a bad experience and pricing is great. They won't try to sell you what you don't need. Trust them completely. Not a better place around in my opinion.

Great men running this place! Honest, they use good parts, and they don't overcharge for easy to fix services. Their location is within walking distance to Main St. downtown Safety Harbor. Last time, I hung out a couple hours at Copperheads while they did my brakes. I told them no rush since I had the day off but it was done in a good amount of time for a fair cost. They are worth every penny I give them and I hope they stay humble. :) I'm a very happy customer.

I have five work trucks from my business as well as our personal vehicles that we take to Mark for repairs and maintenance. I was having trouble with other repair shops doing work correctly and having to take things back in. A friend recommended them to me. We had a Ford F-150 pick-up that had nothing but problems and was in and out of different shops. I took it in and Mark gave it a good going over and told me what needed to be done. After the work my tech who drives it told me it felt like a new truck. I have had a lot of vehicles here in the last two years and everything is always done correctly. I trust Mark when he tells me something needs to be done to keep all my vehicles running well.

Mark is my go-to mechanic. They always take great care of my car, and he is an honest owner. He always calls to confirm what work you want done before getting started, and he never tries to convince you to have unnecessary work done. Every oil change includes a safety check. I trust him, and that means a lot in this business.

Mansplain much? My daughter dropped off the 2003 Mustang V8 she has been borrowing before her vacation to get "looked at and a 50 point inspection." It was running rough due to an issue with the spark plugs. She is 19 and not as experienced with cars or mechanics as her father and I. She has used Mark before and liked the result.I am working and am not currently in Florida. Due to my contract I could not make it back to Florida to deal with the car, yet. I did not meet Mark myself. I know my Mustang like the back of my hand. I had been repairing her coils and other old broken parts. A replacement upgrade engine is already on it's way to a performance car mechanic in my town ( Not Safety Harbor.) I didn't want us to waste money. We just needed the spark plugs replaced & threaded. The coils are brand new.Mark opened the conversation with a 3-minute long list of everything wrong with the engine. ( All of which I knew before the phone rang hence the new engine) I asked Mark to fix the plugs only and put coolant in her. He continued to try to upsell. When I wasn't taking the bait, he said there is no point in doing the work.I agreed to have the car picked up by my daughter when she returned from her trip, to which he mentioned there was a storage fee. He also admitted to not warning my daughter about the cost, and she did not ask about the storage price. "Everyone knows about storage fees and can read, and it's in the contract she signed" was Marks's response to my question. I had reminded my daughter several times to ask. Mark proved not only was he aware my daughter was na�ve about storage costs, he intended to take advantage of that naivety.Between throwing my daughter under the bus, a bait and switch, and mansplaining. I would advise anyone to use a mechanic with better communication skills and will not assume a woman doesn't t know anything about cars.

Ive been going to mark since i was a teenager. Fair prices,good work, and they always do 55 point expection which is nice. The only downfall of the auto shop is they dont give you a finish time ive never had my car finish earlier than 6 hours even for a routine oil change. Many times ive had my car there over a day or over the weekend which hinders where i can go and alters how ill get to work. Besides that mark is a reliable and honest mechanic.

I have gone to this shop before and have always been very satisfied with the service quality and value. I unfortunately have had nails or screws and tires a couple times and they have conveniently repaired them for me saving good tires. They are good people, the owner is very nice, and I would definitely recommend the shop for any repairs needs.

My entire family has been taking their vehicles to Mark for over 30 years. Mark will make sure your car is fixed right before you get it back. He's very honest and professional.

Dropped off car on a Friday and was told Tuesday at the latest. It's now Thursday after business hours and we were told it's not ready because they stop what they are doing to work on all the little projects that come in the shop. So, not only do we have $100 in uber charges (not counting the weekend or Monday and Tuesday), but we still don't have our vehicle and EDIT: they called and said by tonight. I had two other shops say they would have had it ready by now since our vehicle was there first. I would understand if the issue was with the car, but the mechanic said its because they stop to change tires and work on whatever comes in the shop. EDIT AGAIN: It's been seven days to change a water pump that is a seven hour job.

I take my vehicles there for regular maintenance. Today my truck started making a horrible sound in/near the engine. I went there to set an appointment but they looked at it right away. Turns out it was a minor fix involving a few rivets. They wouldn t even let me pay!!! Love this place...will continue to go there in the future....

Mark is great! He often knows what is wrong with the car just from the phone call. Wouldn't trust anyone else to work on my car. Extremely reliable service!

I ve recently relocated outside the Clearwater/Tampa area, and still make the effort to come back to receive the same quality service and advice from the owner. If you like not being told what is wrong with your car go here , this is the place you want to be. They ll make it seem like your car is fixed when in actuality it s just rigged and will more than likely never actually last . I wouldn t recommend this place to my worst enemy . Coming back to have the issue fixed again for free still isn t worth going . It maybe worse than you think .

This was the only place I would take my car to be serviced, even if it meant an expensive tow to deliver it here. The owner is honest and would only fix what needed to be fixed. Was told about this place by two women who took their cars here for many years before me.

Great, honest mechanics!I have been going to him for years and never once have they steered me wrong nor tried to take me for my money. I have a new car now and I still won't let the dealership touch it.

Good mechanic knows what he's doing then get you an answer about your vehicle same day as long as it's not too busy. And he is very prompt with his return calls

Been using him since probably 2013 & never had any problems with him. He's open every Saturday, barring holidays etc, from 8:00 to 6:00 and just like Monday through Friday

Mark is very knowledgeable on many types of Autos, the prices here are about half what the dealer charges and twice as fast in repairs

I did some research on what the car needed and prices on the labor and I can say this place was Honest and personal. Will go back again
