Just wanted to give a shout out to Steve's Auto Shoppe. Steve has done work on my cars over the last few years. They've always done great work at a fair price.Recently Steve has gone above and beyond what I consider good service. I'm in the process of purchasing a used car. Steve has been super willing to assist me in the process. My in-laws use Steve's for their service and are happy with him. I needed my car programmed to accept a cruise control and talked to Steve about it after the local dealer couldn't do it. He recommended Roger Dean in Cape Coral, and he was correct; they did it without a problem. I don't think my in-laws went to Steve's often, but he obviously knew them and asked how they were doing. He seems to be a good local mechanic.

Took my van into have the engine looked at on a Wednesday morning. He called Wednesday evening and said he couldn't find the problem. I told him to keep it overnight and start it in the morning because it would misfire only if engine had been off overnight. He call the next morning and tells me that it could be a couple different issues. I told him okay I will come pick it up. When I arrived to get my van he charged me $50 to tell me what it could be and not what it is. Took it somewhere else and they couldn't find the issue that day and didn't charge me a dime to look at it. I have never dealt with a company that would charge to tell me what something could be. It would be different if he charged $50 and said this is the problem and this is what is will cost to repair. Total rip off!!!!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My car overheated on I75 and I was stranded in Punta Gorda overnight. Steve's team had at least a dozen cars ahead of mine but they jumped right on fixing mine and had me out of there by 2:30PM the next day. The price was very reasonable and they were wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend them - whether it's an emergency or regular maintenance. They're a great group.

I have been going to Steve and the guys for 4 years now. I have a project car (91 Honda) and recently moved to Tampa which is a 2hr drive but when i have problems with my vehicle i will drive the two hours for them to look at it. They have never EVER let me down and have never had to keep my car longer than 3 days. I highly recommend them. Also they arent cheap but they are honest (dont think he could lie if his life depended on it) & reasonable which is really hard to find in a mechanic. Ps they are busy ALL THE TIME! So as a patron of Steves i recommend calling in advance to schedule an appointment. Also they like pizza for lunch.

Steve and his crew are some of the friendliest people I've known and truly a blessing to work with. When steve says something you can trust that with your life! Hes a man of his word and has been dedicated to his shop and his customers for probably 15 years+ and the reason he KEEPS his customers because well, he earned them.

I had a very unfavorable experience at this shop. I have been traveling over 100 miles to use a mechanic out of town for the past 11 years since i know and trust him. This time, I was not able to take my car there, since my starter had failed and i was stranded. I went to Steve's based on a couple of local recommendations that he was honest. I was given a verbal estimate of "around $300" to diagnose and replace the starter. I got no written estimate, and was not called to be told it would be significantly more. When I went to pick up my car, the bill was $515. I was told the part alone was $293, and 2.1 hours of labor was charged. I have two family members in the auto parts industry, and they sourced the part at $90 wholesale. My mechanic out of town also confirmed that the part price was outrageously inflated, and that Florida State Law was not followed as to the estimate. When I complained about the bill, I was told that I should be happy because my car was fixed in one day. I had no idea there was an "upcharge" to replace a starter or repair a car in a timely fashion. Needless to say, I have gone to Steve's twice in the same day....first and last time!!

Steve is amazing! I was in an emergency with a nail in my tire ,and he was super busy but still managed to get me taken care of that day so I could drive my hour and 15 min ride back home again ..I highly recommend Steve's for your auto needs ..

Travelled around the world and have only met a few people as great as Steve. Great mechanic and SO much more! Prices 1/2 of dealership prices and better customer service too. No offense to some other great guys in Punta Gorda, but don't waste time with anyone else.

After 3 weeks of our truck sitting on his lot he hadn't even looked at it, when we inquired he said to take it elsewhere but he is the best so he was sure we would bring it back.If there was a way to report his actions I would do it,Im a professional employee with the City of Cape Coral and this was completely uncalled for,his actions and words were harsh. Anyone that wants to know more feel free to contact me.

I brought my truck to Steve after the dealership tried to charge me twice as much for the wrong parts on a major internal engine issue. He's very honest and reliable.

I was referred to Steve by my father and ever since I have been treated like a friend instead of a customer. Compared to other mechanics I have worked with, Steve has gone out of his way to accommodate my friends and family far beyond what's considered the highest standard in the industry.

I have been using Steve's shop for years now. He fixes foreign and domestic. Honest and reliable. He is generally busy, but worth the wait.

They are a rip off! Over charges and has underage son work on cars/trucks. He has his son who is irresponsible and forgets to do things on vehicles work on customers vehicles. If you care for your children in the vehicle than I would avoid this place. They do not let you be aware of any repairs that need to be done for your safety.
