I took my Ford Fusion there based on a recommendation fro Dean's in Elberta, AL. Dean's was too busy (I had a rebuild from him for an 02 Ram).Anyway, the owner for Hirst represents the model of Customer Service! He listened to my concerns, and called me the next day with the results. He's honest! Did the diagnoses at no charge! Sorry it took so long to post this review. But if you want Service that is gleaming with old-fashioned "Full service gasoline station" friendless, go to Hirst Transmission! The owner is a Breath of Fresh Air!

I scheduled a transmission flush appointment with Hirst and everything about it felt seamless! Steven was very friendly, energetic and knowledgeable. He and I had discussed the service price over the phone prior to my appointment, so what he quoted was what I ended up paying. I dropped my car off at 9am and expected to be without it for at least half of the day but he told me it would only take about an hour. I decided to wait in the lobby and sure enough, I was back in my car a little after 10! I drove all over the place for the rest of the day and I definitely feel a difference. My car has a DCT and the manual mode would delay sometimes with the shifts. After the flush, it's more immediate and responsive! I'll definitely be coming back after another 60k miles. Big thanks to Steven and his mechanics!

Steve Hirst is a top notch mechanic. My car was in and out of his shop in only a couple of days. He took the time to answer any and all questions I had concerning my car and even took the time to be personable and shoot the breeze for a bit.

Very helpful,answered all my questions. I've only had the vehicle back for a week or so. we'll see how long it lasts, hopefully it'll match there reputation. They are just a spot pricey but then so is everything else these days.

When an issue presented itself within the transmission of my newly purchased vehicle I contacted multiple transmission repair shops with my questions and concerns. Out of the many shops I contacted, Steve with Hirst was the only man who thoroughly listened to my concerns and answered my questions without cutting me off mid sentence and telling me to just drop the vehicle off. I had planned to drive my vehicle to Hirst on my appointment day, but unfortunately my car stopped shifting before my appointment. I contacted Steve and presented my issue of safely delivering my vehicle to him and he made arrangements to have my vehicle brought to his shop for diagnosis on my appointment day. Within a few hours of picking my vehicle up, Steve called me with the verdict. My transmission would need to be rebuilt. He quoted me a fair and affordable price and offered me a 2 year warranty. I thought it over for a few hours and called him back and asked him to begin the rebuild. They had possession of my vehicle for 7 days. In a week exactly he called to tell me my vehicle was repaired and ready for pickup! As of now, my vehicle is shifting like a champ and we are back in action! I will always go to Hirst with any of my transmission needs! They made this experience very easy for me and i am forever grateful for Steve and his team at Hirst Transmission! Had a Ford E4OD completely rebuilt with a torque convertor for roughly 3200 in July. Have had no issues since then, I dont think I will need to exercise the 2 year warranty. Ex trans tech freind, and everybody I knew told me go to Hirst as it's one of the few honest transmission shops who won't sell you a rebuild for simple issues that doesn't require a teardown. Met Steve personally. He was friendly and very helpful to my questions involving maintenance and break in recommendations. I would recommend hirst for any of your transmission needs.

Steve and his crew went above and beyond. Dealt with my nightmare of a truck more than I assume they wanted, diagnosed and fixed an electrical issue although they don t typically do that sort of work. Can t say enough about how they saved my butt as time was of the essence.

Wow. This was a great experience. The free evaluation showed I had a different issue than the transmission and they were honest and did not try to have me do work that was not warranted. I was very pleased and will recommend them just due to the honesty and professionalism they showed. Keep up the good work!!

Okay, so I'm finally getting around to writing a review for Steve and the staff. That is, after having finally gotten around to taking my car in in the first place, since after all the transmission was really starting to be a problem. They got me in at the opportune time and found a good used transmission to replace (after the first one they found did not make the grade). I'm a little lighter in the wallet now -- I knew that going in -- but the price was fair and they did a great job for me. They are, in a word, reliable.Service: Transmission

We spent over $3,000 with Hirst in April of this year fixing my dad's truck (for a "complete transmission overhaul including torque converter"), which has sentimental value to me, as we lost him in 2021. So, the problem: there was an issue with the transmission lines, which we were not notified about nor were they replaced during the transmission overhaul," so when my fianc� was driving the truck all the fluid came out & the transmission burned up. We have the warranty & receipt and called Hirst to ask them to make this right before I resorted to leaving this negative review, but they are currently refusing. [EDITED from 1 star to 4 after Hirst honored the warranty, and then went the extra mile of rehanging our transmission lines at no extra cost.]Service: Transmission

Steve you are amazing very knowledgeable and great to work with. My 2020 Colorado broke down do to transmission issues and I came to Steve just a few days before Christmas needing my truck for work and they got me back up and running with prompt service the next morning Steve called me and said that they got it ready for pick up I even told him I understood if it was after the holiday break. I live in Texas so the service at HIRST was above and beyond. My Daughter is a new school teacher in Pensacola she had an issue with the KIA long story short Steve and the. Guys fixed the issue. Steve Hirst is the regional expert on transmissions. He's the guy other transmission shops go to for work to be done. There's a 2 week waiting list to get in, but you know the job will be done right for a fair price. And if you don't need work done, he will tell you that too.

Hirst is the ONLY transmission show we trust. I have had transmissions worked on other places, then had to take them here to fix the other shops mistakes. Take it from me, save your time and money and come to the right place 1st. Mr. Hirst is and has always been nothing but professional. Call any mechanic shop in town, ask them where they send transmission work or who they recommend. 9 out of 10 times it will be Hirst Transmission.Service: Transmission

Hirst Transmission is a very respectful, honest place of business in our community!!! They are busy, but it s only because the quality of work they provide is impeccable!!! They re trustworthy and always treat anyone that walks through their door with the upmost care and respect!!! Not to mention, they are beyond knowledgeable with what they specialize in!!! Transmission s are a very intricate part of a vehicle, Hirst will take care of you and provide you with an excellent quality of work, with awesome customer service and personable quality of care for your vehicle!!! And the prices are definitely honest and competitive to other places!! I didn t go to any other transmission places, but my best friend did and was completely taken advantage of!!! Contacted Hirst just before Christmas because the clutch broke in my 1986 Corvette. I talked to Stephen and he got parts ordered and was ready to go the week after New Years. He even arranged towing from my house to the shop. It was all done for a good price. A few weeks later my car got stuck in first gear. Took it back to Hirst and they found a broken pin in the shifter linkage. Fixed it up same day without charging me and got me back on the road. Probably just an old pin that had nothing to do with the clutch replacement, but Stephen took care of me anyway. Great customer service and great work. Would happily recommend Hirst to anyone.

I will NEVER use them again, even with my warranty. Completed the rebuild transmission job after about a week, I needed to pay for a rental all this time as well, so another added expense. Got truck back and still experienced issues, a jolting grab occasionally in the transmission, they told me bring back, but being only open Mon-Fri it was not convenient for me being I would need to take more time off work, pay for another rental, and for who knows how long. Email replies back to me also very condescending and NOT professional. Go somewhere else! Wish can give ZERO starsService: Transmission

Stephen and his team expertly pointed out some things. More importantly he was honest about what it did not need. We all know that is rare in this industry and we don't always know the truth. I would recommend them as I myself would use them.

I have a service repair comany and transmission went out on a van. Had two recommendations for Hirst and went with them. Great experience!
