I took my sisters 1993 F-150 to them about 3 months ago. The truck has a 5.0 V8 in it and an E40D transmission in it. Apparently the E40D was common with the I6 engine and not the 5.0. The shop owner preceded to argue with me on the phone for 20 minutes over what engine was in the truck. Despite it even having factory 5.0 badges on it. Finally he popped the hood and confirmed it was a 5.0. After all of that he texted me about 2-3 days later to let me know that the transmission was completely smoked and I would need a complete rebuild. Total bill would be around $2,500. Give or take. He claimed first and second gear were completely gone. Which is not possible because the truck could manually be pulled down into first gear and it ran fine. My only problem was the trans would not downshift back down to first gear without doing it manually. I took the truck to Bill s transmission and they called me within 4 hours of having the truck and said that the shift solenoids were bad and needed to be replaced. All in all it was $350 at bills to get the shift solenoids replaced and the trans works perfectly. All 4 gears work and there are no downshifting problems anymore.

Affordable Transmission was very professional throughout the entire process. They provided one on one consultation with problems and potential issues with my truck. For the amount of work (replaced U-joint and two CV joints) they put into my truck, it was very affordable. Lead time on when I turn my truck over to the mechanics was exceptional (24 hours). Highly recommend the services of Affordable Transmissions.

Brought vehicle in for shifting hard. They replaced my torque converter, which was of course very costly, but this didn t fix the problem. So we took it to a shop a little closer to our home and they found that Affordable Transmissions didn t put any transmission fluid back in when they changed the torque. That has caused my car to permanently shift hard, hopefully this will be the only problem due to their stupid error.

We were visiting the area, and the driveshaft dropped out of our truck as we were trying to find a transmission repair place that could accommodate the height and weight of our vehicle (truck & camper) to take a look at the driveshaft. Not a fun mechanical problem to have when away from home! Luckily Dustin and his crew help get us back on the road! Dustin helped us find a towing company that could safely accommodate our rig, had an outdoor hoist that could accommodate the height and weight of our vehicle, and worked hard to quickly evaluate the problem, get the parts ordered and ultimately get us back on the road as soon as possible. Dustin the manager is a awesome dude abs very respectful! As is the owner Rick. The builder is very knowledgeable and willing to explain things that are normally harder to understand when it comes to transmissions and the turn around time was great... they have done 4 transmissions for me and all ended up great. They always made it right and only one had 1 to have warranty work and they got it in and out as fast as possible!!! Great team of great people!

Might as well stop scrolling now and give this place a call to schedule an appointment. You'd be hard pressed to find a more honest and fair priced transmission shop in the area. Dustin and the team do quick and reliable work with pricing to match. I will be taking all my vehicles that need transmission work to this facility from here on out. Thanks guys!

We are snowbirds and was in the area when our transmission gave out. Dustin at affordable transmission was able to answer all our questions and get us in immediately to start the repairs. He was easy to communicate with kept us well informed and got the job done in a timely manner. It was $4800 for a rebuilt transmission.. we were told that was very high but we were in no position to go elsewhere.Services: Transmission, Transmission replacement

If I could give a rating of 10 's, I would. From the moment I dropped off my 2016 Dodge Ram 2500, Dustin took care of my every need and updated me with phone calls and Excellent communication. He work well with my warranty company and handled the entire process flawlessly. I highly recommend Dustin to take care of your needs...you will not be disappointed! Best Transmission shop in Bay County! Week before Christmas, my 2013 Silverado lost 3rd and 4th gear on I10 at 200k miles. I took it in Monday and it was ready on Wednesday. Better gas mileage, 40 degrees cooler AT temp, and it used to vibrate between 40 an 60 mph, but that was the transmission going out. It runs great. Smooth quick shifting, and no more vibrations.Super friendly and honest fair pricing.Still working great

Dustin is amazingly helpful. I've brought multiple vehicles to him for new transmissions and cv shafts. I will continue to return with anything mechanic problems I have. If he's not able to get to it in the time frame I need he has reccomended people that do great work as well but I will always choose Affordable over anyone else.

Affordable Transmission came highly recommended from a family member that had their transmission rebuilt there a couple of years ago and it s still going strong! I brought my Jeep in for a non-transmission, but drivetrain, related issue. After taking a look at it, Affordable Transmission determined that there may be a better local shop to service my particular issue and helped me get in contact with them. They didn t even charge me for the diagnosis. That level of honesty and integrity is rare! Even though they didn t get this sale, I will definitely keep them in mind for future repairs and recommend them to anyone I know in need of their services.

Had my transmission done here, happy with the work done. He worked with my warranty company and cost was higher than expected but not their fault(warranty company didn't pay for everything). Expect to add a week and half to time frame they give you.

Had my car for almost a week but took amazing care of my vehicle. Runs just as good, if not better then when I purchased it. Quoted me a set price and did not change it. Brought my 2008 mustang here for a transmission rebuild a few months back, still running perfectly. One of the guys even met me there on his day off so i could pick up my car, will definitely be coming back for any issues in the future, highly recommendUpdate; a couple years later. I sold the car recently and at that time the transmission still shifted perfectly

The guys are great thumbs up to jasonupdatestill under warranty I had to to have repairs fix what they did wrong twice my gas line was put back in wrong way and melt the tube. Then transmission was heating up and had to put a cooling fan on?1year and half later my transmission went out all gears gone and when I called they said I sounds like you need a new transmission. My shock was what his answer was when I told him its only got 1500 MILESon your transmission you put in my car 1 1/2 years later? I spent $2400 for work only lasting the long? Yes that's right never know how long they last. WOW ....Don't take your car there.

My mom's car was having problems and we were told by a couple of mechanics that it was the transmission. So after dealing with Affordable transmissions before I took her to get her vehicle fixed. The mechanic was so professional and willing to help us out will continue to do business with them whenever I need transmission work done.

We are very impressed with the techs at Affordable Transmission. Jeremy was fenomenal and extremely professionals. What other were saying that will need a new transmission and they were charging $3250.00, Jeremy found the issue, fix it and it was only $300.00. I will recommend this people to everyone. When I tell you Affordable Transmission is the best.I absolutely love Brandi,she is the sweetest woman in the world .Ricky is great as well.The whole staff is wonderful. I am so happy to have come in contact with them, they were all great.They fixed my sons transmission, which only took a few days ,They also offer a warranty after the work is done .He has had zero problems with his car after they fixed it .I just want to say Thank You Affordable Transmission!!You are the best.Service: Transmission

I would not recommend,I took my truck there for a new TCM and they called for us to pick it up 3 days later told us the truck was ready got in it realized my step on my driver side was bent like they tried to pick my truck up with the lift by the steps it was still doing the same thing I checked the transmission temperature and it was -40 degrees so I took it back then they called 3 days later again said truck was ready and they changed something else some kind of manifold sensor and it was still doing the same stuff took it back drove by it everyday and it sat in the same spot for 3 days finally just said screw it picked it up yesterday and took it to the Chevrolet dealership and come to find out they put a salvage TCM in it. I definitely would not recommend this place at all.

We have had a Dodge and a GMC transmission replaced here. Trustworthy. We can call and ask any auto question. Please with the results and how we were treated. 5 stars. It's so nice to have a reliable & knowledgeable mechanic!

Was referred to this place by a local Tuffy Auto center. Jeremy nor anybody at that place knows what they are talking about or doing. After nearly a month and a half and being told when I called initially that would be $375, I ended up with a rebuilt transmission and "new" BCM and $2800 bill, yet the problem was still there.Ended up taking the vehicle to the dealership for another $800 Bill only to find out the whole problem was over at $89 brake switch that they weren't able to diagnose, they broke both O2 sensors off of the exhaust, stripped out two manifold studs and rreplaced them with bolts. They tried to JB weld the gap between the exhaust manifold and the pipe when they stripped the studs out and didn't say a word to me. I figured it out after about an hour of the truck running and an exhaust leak developing as the J-B weld blew out.As if all this wasn't enough, they try to send me to some other shop in town after they had no idea what the problem was and swapping all the parts they could swap at my expense. I called the shop they were trying to send me to a day before my appointment however they didn't bother to answer the phone after four tries, nor did they have the courtesy to return my phone call after leaving a message and let me know when my appointment was scheduled the following day.After all this had failed and chance after chance given, I asked Jeremy what he was willing to do about the bill since they just basically swapped out parts until they figured the problem out which never occurred, since the BCM nor the transmission were obviously the problem. "Nothing I can do for you".Jeremy is probably wishing he would have handled the situation better, credit card chargebacks work! Still out the $800 from the dealership trip but at least Affordable Transmission didn't get away with $2800 AND a good transmission and BCM!!!Save your money time and frustration and go elsewhere let me know what they're doing.

Skilled repair & reasonable prices but my transmission rebuild took over a week. Tried to call for updates but their phone was never answered so I had to drive all the way to the shop any time I wanted info
