Water pump on vw went out. Bob was very professional and explained the whole process. Great rates and very prompt. Parts had to be special ordered from California. Very detailed explanation and proper service. I recommend Bob's to anyone who needs a repair.

After being towed into Panama City from Montgomery, Alabama our vacation started out very stressful and worrisome. After checking into our condo I started searching for automotive techs close by with dependable reviews.After speaking with Mrs. May we were able to gimp our Blazer to the shop and Bob gave us a ride back to the Condo.Later that afternoon we were contacted via the txt machine that a diagnoses has been determined.I was ready to just donate the Blazer and rent a car for our trip back home to Ky. but instead my gut told me to let Bob and his team go forward with the process.After receiving the parts needed to fix our automobile we were contacted the following afternoon that our car was ready. Bob sent one of their techs to pick me up to get our car.I m glad that we decided to go ahead with Bob and his business because the rest of our vacation and trip back to Ky. was flawless.Other than the double red flags on the beach but we still where very great full to find a honest auto technician so far away from home..I hope you never have a need for his expertise but I would highly recommend Bobs Automotive to anyone local or tourist like us.

Had some problems with my 2011 Sienna while on vacation from Minnesota. Was super nervous about repair shops in an unfamiliar city so I started reading google reviews. That s how I chose Bobs! Bob and May were amazing and quickly got me back to my vacation. Absolutely feel confident bringing your business here!!!!!!!!!!

I highly recommend Bob s Automotive! My family was on vacation for only a few days and the vehicle starting acting up. The dealership was estimating 7-10 days before they could even diagnose my vehicle. no wonder you have terrible reviews everywhere!!! check bbb reviews and yelp reviews. i m convinced all of these good reviews are fake to be honest. look at the bad reviews first, always. took my car in for timing chain issues and after i was talked into an unnecessary diagnostic that cost $170 after they told me $145, i walked out with my car no longer running*. my guess, like a few others here, is that they overheated my car after they left it idling for testing . was told by bob and may that they had to do this for whatever reason. was given a quote of about $7k all together for anything they could find, but not told that my car didn t start until i walked in the next day after not getting texts back. why not call me immediately to tell me my car isn t running*? why would you still send me a quote if my car wasn t running*? all super fishy and grimey. wish i would have double checked where i was taking my car to.* didn t respond at all to the part about overheating, which you have done in the past.* i read everything, my point was you wanted to quote me thousands without even telling me my car no longer ran* and i had to reach out multiple times and then eventually come in person to get a response.* maybe stop speaking to people like they re stupid or you re better than them, could get you some of the brownie points you re clearly desperate for. no response when my car had problems but now you can reply like that* to argue with people! amazing.* my problem with the diagnostic charge isn t unheard of in your reviews. maybe start listening to your customers about what bothers them if you re so concerned with making them happy, and not making the most money you can. especially considering the fact that you don t take it off even when service is done through you. which most auto shops will do, to actually take care of their costumers and actually help them out.* id like to see the forms i signed that authorized you to charge me $145 also.* grasping at straws and correcting a word i used is so desperate and sorry.UPDATE! my car did start and run, it just needed a jump. silly little people you are

came in with a working car and left having to get it towed. believe they overheated it. then they gave my PERSONAL PHONE NUMBER to one of their friends trying to buy my car from me. super interesting. BEWARE!!!

Had an accident while on vacation. Contacted this company and was immediately taken care of. They got my car in and worked over to get it repaired before I had to leave to drive back to TN. The lady I spoke to was prompt in getting everything lined up and super sweet. I was updated on what needed to be repaired and clearly was not taken advantage of suggestions of other repairs that needed to be done. Charge amount was reasonable! I was impressed with the service, the updates and the follow up! Highly recommended!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance

Was on vacation when car broke down. Bob's automotive fixed the car and keep us updated along the way. We were able to continue enjoying our vacation and only had to mis one day with no car.

Bob's Auto came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. On vacation and blown water pump. Bob's Auto fixed it perfectly. Drove it all the way back to Illinois no problems. May stayed in touch with us the entire time to let us know the status of the repair and all pricing. Vacation never missed a step. Would definitely go back with any issues. This place is phenomenal. I was looking for a mechanic to do some minor checks before heading home from vacation. This shop is operated by the NICEST couple, and they were VERY knowledgeable and super friendly! I know that I would definitely use them again the next time I'm in PCB and need mechanical assistance.

We were visiting Florida from Missouri for vacation when our radiator fan went out. We landed on Bob s Automotive after a quick search of repair shops and based on prior reviews, gave them a call. He took great care to make sure the radiator fan and thermostat were repaired so that we could make it safely back to Missouri. We are very appreciative that he worked us in and even stayed late to get our repair done so that we could still leave on time.

Anything 'unkind or non-complementary' is is factual, and I guess things that are not good can be considered unkind. Unfortunately that is the case.Nothing 'irrational' about any of the content in subject reviews.Bob asserted on Monday that they stick 2 and do not deviate their process of the $130 diagnostic pressure test-THAT IS THE REASON he gave me. If it was something different as he now asserts, then apparently he was lying about sticking to there process etc.No one has harassed this business in any way shape or form, another lie. I asked questions that are verifiable in texts.Original review(sorry if the facts are not 'kind' to Bob):This guy REFUSED to do a visual check of my radiator, hoses, which would have taking maybe 15 minutes. Insisted on only doing $130 pressure test.Turns out the cause of the coolant leakage from the radiator was somehow the drainage plug opened.These guys did a coolant flush, replaced the thermostat, and a radiator cap a few weeks ago.. and now the drainage plug ends up opening.May is very friendly very nice, Bob is super nice to first timers.Beware of any shop or mechanic who insist on costly diagnostics and refuse to do visuals. Visual should be done first.

I stopped in at Bob s Automotive while visiting Panama City from out of town. My check engine light came on and with only a few days left prior to the journey back to IL, I needed to make sure it was not a major issue needing repair. Bob s wife greeted me at the front desk with a smile. Though they were booked solid, she asked Bob to help. Bob did so without hesitation, printed out the report and explained what each code meant, at no cost. This is the kind is service we need back in Illinois. I highly recommend this business! Thank you Bob!

My son's car died on him during spring break. He had it towed here--Bob and May were so easy to work with remotely. We decided the repairs would be too extensive and they held on to the car for 3 weeks while I arranged a buyer with no storage fees. They even facilitated the transfer once I mailed the title to them. May put my mind at ease and I can't thank them enough for taking care of my son. I am so pleased with the service I got at Bob's Automotive. I have only lived here 6 weeks. Bob's was suggested to me by another automotive business because they had no openings. I'm tickled that I did listen to their suggestion.I couldn't find my keys for the first appointment. I was really upset. Bob assured he could work on my car as soon as I could find them. He did, the next day. He found what was causing the check engine light to be on. He fixed that. Then did a check of several other mechanical systems on my Volvo.The charge for all this work was so reasonable. I have such confidence in his service that I plan on taking my Corvette in to have it checked. There's an unusual noise in the back of the car.I will recommend Bob's to anyone I know that is having car trouble.Must add. His wife that is the receptionist is so personable and helpful. Best service in town, quickly gets your inspection, has very smart mechanics, does wonderful job and you will get a loaner car if you don t have another car!! May and Bob are fantastic!

I really enjoy working with Bob and May.I brought my car in thinking I had thousands of dollars of work and after a few hundred dollars they had it as good as new.May keeps in constant communication so I always know what's happening.Love working with Bob and May (especially May) Services: Electrical repair, Auto battery replacement, Auto A/C replacement

Wow. Do NOT trust this guy.Told me I had a blown A/C compressor and metal shavings were everywhere in the system and it had to be entirely replaced, over $2500 expense.This was under my warranty and the Ally warranty inspector came out to assess. Told me zero metal shavings and he would cover the compressor but that I should get a second opinion.Took it to the ford dealership and all they needed to do was recharge the A/C. $200 bucks and the a/c runs fine.Run from this guy. All of the positive reviews are people who believed him.Service: Auto maintenance

Charged my kid $175.00 to check out why his fan wasn't working, car was overheating, fan wouldn't come on automatically to cool the car down. Bob's said they couldn't find anything wrong. My kid said specifically to let him know if it would be over $100, and they didn't. I thought that was a law? Anyway, not happy, I think we got ripped, but not really sure. I say beware and clarify with Bob.

The only place to have done any work (Bob's did a thermostat and radiator cap replacement, along with coolant flush) on my car (in several months) is Bob's. After finding an actual honest mechanic after a leak occured, my cars radiator was removed-and I watched this mechanics every move- THIS is what was found. Look like 5 jabs. There were no noises when driving from any kind of debris-never drove in a construction area. No dents or marks anywhere else.Don't have a for sure answer But this is a logical concern

Totally satisfied with the service and cost of service at Bob s. We had our front brake rotors and pads done. We ve taken our car to the dealership several times for the same service without much satisfaction. Bob s team completed the job while we waited and in record time. And now our brakes are quiet and work better than ever! Great family run business. Highly recommend.Service: Brakes

Overpriced and failed to deliver vehicle by promised date. Suggest finding a more reliable and reasonably priced shop.Delivery date - The AC compressor on my truck went out a few days before I had to drive to Tampa for a week. Bob's assured me that the compressor would be replaced before I had to leave on my trip. I spoke with them several times about the deadline and they repeatedly promised that the vehicle would be done. I went to pick up my truck the evening before the trip and they hadn't even started the work yet. I had to borrow a friend's truck for the trip due to their incompetence.Overpriced - The estimate provided by the shop included a $663.98 charge for an AC compressor kit. The same kit could be purchased from the NAPA in town for $367.96 or online for $261.79. I understand that shops add a markup when they purchase parts but a 154% markup is not reasonable. They refused to alter the price when I brought this up. I agreed to their price because I had no other choice due to my trip but they failed to accomplish the work in time. After my trip, I replaced the AC system myself. It cost less than $350 for the tools and parts and took about 4.5 hours to complete. Bob's wanted to charge me $1,269.11. Find somewhere more reasonable.Service: Air conditioning

They got my car in and out and they weren t crazy expensive, and they told me exactly what they did and helped me to make the best decision for my car and my safety. I called Bob s Automotive because I had seen all the wonderful reviews dealing with out-of-towners. We are in town from Cincinnati, Oh and my brake pads has started grinding terribly on the drive to Florida. I obviously was very nervous to contact the local garage for fear that they would overcharge or not be able to get me in. Bob was very kind and was able to schedule me immediately! I was a little nervous when I pulled up because it s obviously not a chain. But him and his wife are both super professional and got the job done in just a few hours! The price was fair in the work was good I would highly recommend the small mom and pop shop to anyone!

I wouldn t recommend going to this shop. They will take advantage of you. 1st I Paid $170 for a Diagnostic then I was told I need two sensors replaced I asked was that all that s wrong with my car and was told yes so I paid for the parts even though they charged 3 times the amount that auto zone quoted. Then I paid Labor which was not even a hour cost $130. I was told they cranked the car and let it run for 2 hours! Doing this over heated my car Then they told me I had a leak in my water pump and it would cost me $2600 to fix. I told them no thanks and decided to drive home needless to say my car broke down 5 minutes leaving the shop!Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection

Absolutely would never take my vehicle anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and Bob is so knowledgeable about the mechanics of vehicles I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I've had them work on my Yukon Denali multiple they do not overcharge they do not try to sell you things that you do not need. They are also very speedy with their work but do a great job. Absolutely a fantastic mechanic shop. They always fit you right in even if they're busy I'm very grateful to this place.
