I needed a new transmission and Rick definitely sounds like he knows what he's doing. I just got the vehicle back today, so time will tell if he did a good job or not. I have to say that the lack of communication on his part is dreadful and I do not recommend that kind of stress on anyone needing automotive work done. Installing a rebuilt transmission is very expensive. I understand that. For the amount he charges, he could definitely be better about responding to clients because I had to guess for how long I was going to need a car rental and had he given me proper information, I could have saved a lot of money.Again, I'll post here in a couple of weeks if the transmission at least works well.Update: The same night I got the vehicle back, the transmission isn't working correctly. I put the car in drive and it just revs without moving. After a few seconds, it catches. Putting it in reverse also gives me issues. It is clear that Rick and Chris Bernard did not fix the transmission even though they charged $100 per hour, which totaled $2,900.I have been calling them to address the issue but Rick and Chris Bernard are evading my calls.This is highly unprofessional and untrustworthy.

When our car would not start in the parking lot of our hotel at 8 pm , we needed help as soon as possible since we were driving back to NY two days later. I searched to find that the auto shops were closed except for Rick. I called him immediately and told him the problem and was going to tow the car to him. He wanted to check the car that night to make sure what was needed and drove to the parking lot. Rick diagnosed the problem and said not to have it towed because he can change the damaged parts in the lot. The next day he fixed the car for a reasonably fair price. We safely returned to NY. I recommend Rick to anyone who wants a caring and fair priced mechanic! Thanks Rick!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. This mechanic came to the house and evaluated the car. Told me I need a new engine. I paid him to do so. While he was installing a new engine he dropped a bolt into the transmission housing . This cause the fly wheel to break, ruined all the new sensors and left a hole in the transmission. In addition, He left one engine bolt missing and one bolt loose. DO NOT HIRE

He went to check my dad's car he charged him $60 just for check it and Rick was supposed to return and fix the car and we are still waiting for him also he doesn't answer the phone or even the messages so my dad lost his money and the time (do yourself a favor and do not call that phone number cause is a scam). The people who wrote the previous reviews I'm sure they are their friends. DO NOT CALL CUANDO COBRA SE PIERDE!!!!!!!!

He is very selective with who he chooses to work with. If it's not a suburu, a Ford, or has a horse for a logo he will not return your calls or messages. You could show him the money and he will not contact you. Does not care about your needs just what is convenient for him. I wont lie he is a great mechanic, just a terrible business man

brought my Subaru wrx sti in for a complete engine rebuild , he was very upfront and explained to me EVERYTHING . he is very knowledgeable about all types of cars . I felt very comfortable with his pricing and service.

I had my dads Audi R8 transmission rebuilt by Rick, he absolutely knows what he's doing, and he's extremely affordable! I highly recommend him

Recommended I change part to save cash after informing him this part might seem like fix and asked if he could do more work when needed ,and I would call him if I still have issues with vehicle ,well still broke down 2days no answer 80$ quick come up I guessPeople are in tough times and this is how we treat each other sad...
