Very effective shop. I had a diagnosis from Ford that the engine in my car needed to have the flex plate replaced, but the price to do it at Ford was much higher than here, so I brought it in.After checking the car at no cost before proceeding to do the replacement of the flex plate, he was not clear on the diagnosis from Ford and helped me reconsider the decision and instead of replacing the flex plate, we are trading in the car as it may have bigger engine issues.I am definitely coming back to this shop

Excellent service, got my car towed (free of charge) to the shop and had a solution and quote same day. Car was done and ready for pick up next day, with a free installation of windshield wipers. Very happy, thank you!

We had alternator trouble on the interstate. Guessing I had a little time before I ran out of battery we pulled off and found Tharp.They quickly diagnosed the issue got the part ordered and had us back on the road within 2 hours.But more importantly, than that they were kind but straightforward. We also witnessed 4 others receive service and were taken with how to the point and quick they were able to serve their issues as well.

Tharps is the best auto repair shop around hands down! My husband and I have brought our last 3-4 vehicles here, having been going for years and I could honestly say we won't go anywhere else. It's hard to find an affordable, honest and schedule efficient mechanic and Steve and his guys are all of these. They are always very straightforward about our diagnosis and give us affordable options to fix it. They don't pick apart things for extra services and fees and are confident in their work. After I have major parts replaced they will reach out months later and make sure everything is running great and I have NEVER had an issue after a repair. Whether you just need a simple oil change or something big looked at go to tharps! They are the best!

Great auto repair shop! I have taken my car here several times now and I always get great service! They diagnose my problem quickly, give me an honest price to fix it, and my car is always done when they say it will be. Great communication. The staff & owner work diligently to make sure I am satisfied. The owner & staff follow up with you by text to make sure that you are still happy after your visit & you ve had time to drive. That is an added touch that I never get from the dealership. Thank you Tharp s Complete Auto Care! I appreciate you keeping my car running in great condition. I drive a lot & it means the world to me to have a reliable auto mechanic that I can trust!

Steve is an honest mechanic and a great dude! His guys do great work and go above and beyond! Ignore the few defamatory reviews, written by people who like spoiled children, didn t get their way. Treat others with respect and you ll get respect and that saying applies at every business, not just at Tharp s. Steve has treated my family right and I ll continue giving him my business. Thanks Steve!

Took our car in today and am so happy with the results. They were able to fix all our issues for a great price. Even received a status call to let us know that they were waiting on a part and what was done so far. Received great customer service and would definitely recommend this place!

I won t take my car anywhere else. I found Tharps by accident and am so glad I did! They are honest and no nonsense. Had tires put on my car at a very reasonable price. It kinda feels like a hometown service center. They are straight up and didn t try and take advantage of me (which has happened at most other places). They towed my car and had it ready when they said it would be. Thanks for your great service!Update: I have sent one of my co workers here recently. She s also impressed with Tharps.

We were told to have our transmission checked in our 2019 Dodge caravan. Brought it to Tharp transmission shop. Greeted very pleasantly. They took a test drive with my husband. Took it in the bay. Checked everything out. Explained what was going on. Everyone very professional. No charge for this service.

Honesty is the best policy and Steve surely delivers!! Straightforward with everything I needed to have done to my 2007 Dodge Durango. Very pleased with all the work done. Made sure my vehicle was safe to be on the road again. Wouldn't take my vehicles any where else.Thank you Steve and all the guys that worked on my truck! Steve Tharp is a loud mouth arrogant idiot if I could give zero stars I would. I did a drive up at this shop to ask if they could check an ABS code for me because I don't have the capability to test for computer ABS faults myself at home. I never expected anyone to do this for free and was willing to pay. Steve was nasty and smart mouthed from the start to me and his technicians to the point of possible violence happening, when asked how much he would charge his response was did I say I was going to charge you ? leave the keys in the car and get out of it. on and on smart comments rolling out of his mouth. Technician Mike Guidice was very uncomfortable with the whole situation but was very respectful and helpful. Mike gets the five stars not the moron he works for. I've sent people to this shop because it's been in Palm Bay for many years with behavior like this they won't be around much longer. After this experience never again.

Best shop around! We ve been treated kindly, fairly and honestly. Today, I brought in my daughter s old and tired Dodge Journey after she was stranded on I95. Truly, this vehicle just wants to be put to rest. Not today! The issues were diagnosed and fixed by close of business. I have all the confidence that the work that was done was exactly what was needed and that it was done properly. And, my daughter can be assured that this Journey will continue for awhile longer.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My family has been using Tharp's since we moved down here in 2012. Steve will be 100% straight forward with you and while his delivery may be seen as let's say abrasive he won't steer you wrong and actually cares about the safety of the customer and if there's a safety issue with your vehicle he'll do everything he can to make sure the vehicle is safe before you leave that shop. While this review isn't about a recent repair done but just in general about work I've had done here over the past decade. I recommend them to everyone but I do let them know that Steve is brutally honest first.

About 45min ago I got out of class and saw that my front passenger tire was flat. I went straight here and as I was walking into the door the gentleman there (wish I caught his name) (40-50 y/o male with glasses) was immediately helping me because he saw me pull up. In literally 5 minutes he removed the nail in the tire, plugged it up, and filled it up for free. He then said I truly would love your business but I want you to be able to drive your car again asap he then advised me to go to the Firestone on Palm Bay Rd. To see if they have the tire in inventory so I wouldn t have to wait until tomorrow for my tire to come in because they would ve needed to order the new tire. I am currently at the Firestone and only have to wait 30min for the tire to be replaced. Thank you so much, I will most definitely go to Tharp s the next time I need to get maintenance on my vehicle.Such fast service, very funny, and genuine human. Very helpful and very thankful for the free service.Service: Tires

This is our auto shop of choice. Mr. Tharp is exceedingly fair and he and his mechanics work hard, fast, and honestly. This is the kind of shop I can send my wife, who knows nothing about cars, and know she won't be taken advantage of or overcharged. We are so grateful to have this business in our neighborhood.Lobby is welcoming and very clean, and even had some children's toys and books for my son.Can't recommend them enough.

Steve and crew are top notch and have been nothing but trust worthy and dependable throughout the years I have brought my car and my kid's car to the shop. Steve will give you his honest, straight forward opinion on what's best for you and your automobile....even at the expense of him losing a few bucks because he seems to genuinely care about human beings. They work quickly and are very friendly. Family owned and they help with toys for tots. They have fair prices and do pretty much anything and everything you need for your car. The owner talks with a voice of authority so I understand why some people mistook that as rude but it's just the way he talks. He's very friendly really. 10 out of 10, would recommend.

After reading some of the reviews I was a little concerned about trying them out. I absolutely glad that I trusted my gut. They provided great service and my complete brake job was done on time as they suggested. They kept me informed as they completed the job. While I was there I was really impressed with Steve at the front counter. He was upfront and honest with everyone he spoke with and he didn't pull any punches. I prefer someone like that instead of the shops that sugar coat everything and recommend service and parts you don't need. That's my new local repair shop!

Visited Tharp's for the first time after my previous mechanic of 30 years closed shop. Steve was friendly, straight forward, professional, and got me in for my failing water pump immediately. I had multiple repairs (including some suspension work and an oil change I asked to add on) done in less than 24 hours, all in time for a morning appointment. He kept me informed throughout, and even checked in a couple days later to make certain everything was golden. There is by far no better mechanic than tharps in Palm Bay.. Steve is a great guy always checking in making sure his work meets all your needs. I took my car in for an alternator last week it had actually broke down about 3 blocks from the shop. Steve did not hesitate to go get my car . This happened around 3:30 in the afternoon and By 5 o'clock my car was ready to go.. I would not take my car to any other mechanic I do not trust anyone else.. If you need good car service I recommend Steve and THARPS! 1000% I have been going there faithfully for almost 5 years!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I checked with two other companies close to my home and both quoted me over $2,500.00 for a new AC. I decided to drive the nineteen miles to Tharp's as I have in the past. His crew inspected and tested the AC and said that all of the components were operating properly. A small set screw that holds the coolant line in place had come loose. My charge: $8.00 plus coolant. If you want an honest opinion, GO TO THARP's!Service: Air conditioning

Actually the one star rating is because any real mechanic would tell their customers where 5 quarts of oil went when there was no leaks.Any real mechanic having been told EVERYTHING prior to the car arriving would have had a plan of action. No secrets.... 17k miles was a lie. A door sticker. It had been changed during Covid. A real mechanic would have asked questions.Instead a little boy who never had to work a day in his life has zero appreciation for what his parents HANDED him so he waits until someone has to pay then he treats them like a dog because that gets him offThis is the second time a car of mine was held ransom so you could tell me what you think. You're paid for a service not your personal feelings.Don't worry.. I'll do it now handicapped and all because no REAL MECHANIC tells a customer he doesn't even want my car in his shop.So... Rant away and show the world the truth.Future customers you have a 50/50 chance which Tharp you'll deal with. Great changing tires and changing oil. Don't expect much past that.To others reading this. Look through all the 1 star reviews. Look at the time periods.... Look at the common theme. It's all right there.Consumer beware!....and I quote "I don't even want this car in my shop" Steve Tharp (Owner)The mutual friend was sent for your safety...I have a bad habit of not handling arrogance and conceit well. Steve, you really run an honest business, I recommend everyone I come across with car issues to go to you. Always a fair price and quick good work. And what makes me feel even better about taking my vehicles to you is the text and or call I get a few weeks later making sure everything is still running as it should. Keep up the work man.
