Stayed for 1 night and wished I could have stayed longer. The hospitality is phenomenonal and the room had everything I needed. The owners were very considerate when thinking about what their guest would need. The porch is so peaceful and has a lovely view of the river. The breakfast was homemade and they were highly accommodating to serving their guest based on their guests morning schedule. The building is 140 years old and in immaculate condition. It was fun to get a mini tour to better appreciate what I was looking at. I felt that I was in a very comfortable and inviting museum. What a gem!

Absolutely gorgeous! We were traveling north from Tampa and were looking for a place to spend the night, when my mom found this place. The rest of us didn't know what to expect, so when we pulled up, we were absolutely amazed by the grandeur of the building. It was nighttime, and all the Christmas lights were on, so it just beautiful. Far more breathtaking was the interior, though. As we stepped in, the intricate decorations and luxurious style of the house just blew us away. As we explored more of the house when making our way up to the second floor to our rooms, we just got more and more impressed. It felt like time travel, honestly. Mr. Tate and Mrs. Jessie were also very kind and welcoming, and he truly completed our stay by offering us a guided tour of the house, as we were the only ones staying there. The food was good too and Mrs. Jessie is very sweet. I highly recommend for anyone to experience this if only for one night. Thank you so much for everything!!

Beautiful older home converted to B&B. I had private bath & nice bed. Because I'm gluten free, breakfast choice limited to scrambled eggs. Not a favorite, but it was a good sized serving. Close to river. Adequate parking. Would like to have seen more, but got there at after midnight, and was in hurry to leave so didn't tour. Probably just lovely.

A friend of mine stayed here for a couple of nights while in town to do some bike riding. Although I didn t stay there, I did get to tour the B&B. You could feel the history walking into every room. Very clean very well maintained high ceilings, pedestal beds. Antique tubs with feet in most of the rooms. The whole place was decorated very very nicely with period type furniture.Rooms: All of the rooms seem to be spectacular. Was high ceilings decorated with. Appropriate furniture and decorations. very clean.Nearby activities: The riverfront, downtown has shops and restaurants, close to the Saint Augustine to Palatka Trail, Ravine Gardens is about a mile and a half away. There is a golf course nearby. Palatka to Lake Butler paved Trail. The cross Florida Greenway is nearby where you can check out the locks. Lots of fishing opportunities in the area.Safety: The B&B is located in the historic district of Palatka pretty safe overall!!Walkability: Within walking distance of the riverfront and downtown, where there are restaurants and different shops to check out. Even a brewery. Also, the Saint Augustine Palatka is nearby if you re into bike riding.

It's a beautiful piece of history. You shouldnt expect perfection. I was thrilled we were able to stay there. The tour of the house was fabulous, we learned so much of the history surrounding this house. Just an overall incredible experience. Also, we had a ball just wandering around the historic neighborhoods around River Walk and old downtown. I took many pictures of the gorgeous murals painted all around town, and we met so many people. The restaurant, Mariachilles, was wonderful. I highly recommend the Jalepeno Margaritas. So delish! Also, The Magnolia was incredible for lunch. A wonderful weekend!

We absolutely loved it here. I would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are magnificently appointed. The history is wonderful. The staff is phenomenal. I can't say enough about how much we loved our stay. We stayed in a two-room suite, my wife, myself, and a friend of ours. We loved everything about our stay. It was cozy while also being large and regal. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to travel through the area or even not. Even if you're going out of your way, you should stay here

I have stayed at this bed and breakfast before and enjoyed it so much that I planned a return trip. The home is beautiful and elegant with a rich history. In fact, in the past a gentleman lived here who knew and worked for president Abraham Lincoln. The architecture and fine details are exquisite. The owners and host are lovely and welcoming. Would recommend strongly for anyone who enjoys old grand homes.

Charming, warm, cozy, and clean. We felt like old fashioned royalty. The owners are friendly and pleasant. We stayed in the large (major s) suite with the additional room next to it. The bathroom had a beautiful claw tub perfect for a bubble bath (My favorite). Ceiling fans, central AC with a nice additional Indoor unit inside of the suite. The furniture was just beautiful, bed was very comfortable and most importantly clean . I slept better than I had in weeks. Thank you for hosting us, we will definitely be returning!

This is the most beautiful Queen Ann style home with a fabulous story to go with it. We love historic B&Bs, so this one was a real delight. The host was pleasant and accommodating. The home was clean and elegant. And the room was comfy and inviting. Thank you for a lovely stay!!!

We recently stayed in the drawing room which was perfect for a couple. My parents stayed in the sergeants quarters room and absolutely loved the stay and (so did we.) The best part was the tour given by the hotel owner. Lots of interesting facts about the house. The home has a wonderful history and is absolutely breathtaking. Please do the tour if you have the opportunity. The home is just a short walk to the river and there s lots to do nearby such as renting a pontoon or going antique shopping at the local stores. Staff is very friendly and the front desk woman makes sure you are comfortable and taken care of.

I brought my nephews here for a local adventure. We were all amazed when we walked in the door- it was beautiful! The owner was kind and helpful. We had fun at the park down the street then got homemade ice cream. The next day we enjoyed a lovely breakfast. Wi-Fi was good. TV has ability to sign into streaming apps so that was nice. Bring books or games for kids, plenty of interesting books for adults. We really enjoyed our stay!

We used to own it and lived in it until we sold it and the new owners turned into a bed-and-breakfast. it's a lot of housekeeping for one person!! I did my college studies in the basement. My favorite thing about the house on Emmet Street the giant mahogany doors in the mahogany staircaseWalkability: It's one Street over from the St Johns River. Beautiful views

Owner and staff were very friendly, loved the tour we received and the history of the house. The entire house was beautiful and our room was no exception. Compared to what you get for the same price in St. Augustine it was a great deal. Several good restaurants nearby and only about a half hour drive from St. Augustine and Crescent Beach. Would definitely return.

Absolutely beautiful historic home. We stayed in the Drawing room which had a suite with the ladies parlor room... the only downsides of the room we stayed in is the bathroom is not attached so you have to walk across the hall (clothes required) and people kept opening the parlor room doors (I believe it was the owners trying to get their paperwork because we checked in early).Quiet hours are from 10:30-730 and I believe that is when the doors get locked so you can t get back in. Bathroom was spacious (extra towels are available) and the bed was comfortable. They offer you a small menu and a selection of breakfast times. I ordered a bacon/egg/cheese on an English Muffin and my husband ordered waffles with blueberries... very good! Before we left, the owner offered us a tour of the home and gave us the history of the property. Well worth the 15 minutes extra! Beautiful home and I m glad that the current owner saved the place as it had been vacant for decades, minus a remodel in 1995 which had been undone by being abandoned.

My wife and I recently had a short stay at the Grand Gables Inn. We brought our two dogs and found the owners to be very pet friendly. Our room and the community area was very clean. The architect of the home is amazing and we loved to hear the history of the home and of the surrounding area. The owners were helpful and very welcoming.

The best bed and breakfast in Florida. I was lucky enough to get to stay here this December. Tate and Jesse really make it feel like home and speaking of the home itself, it is a historical Beauty and work of art you need to see. The location was perfect as well, one block from the river , only a few blocks from downtown & a 25min drive to St Augustine. The St Johns River to Sea Loop bike trail is also only a few blocks away. I would recommend the grand Gables Inn bed-and-breakfast to anyone looking to deviate from the normal cookie cutter hotel-motel stay, it will not disappoint.

It was absolutely beautiful. We stayed for a night to have a small honeymoon night and it was amazing. The gentleman running it is so sweet and gives you an amazing tour of the building. Definitely will be going back again!

We were only there for one day but this was a wonderful place to stay and the Millers (no relation) are a great, friendly couple who made us feel welcomed and care for. All the extras of a major hotel but with a feel of home. The tour was interesting and full of history. Will definitely go back and would advise my family to stay there if they are ever in Palatka

Gracious old home with a fascinating history. Tate and Jess are excellent hosts. We sleep so well and breakfast was perfect in the dining room. A lovely way to discover this quaint area of Florida.

Grand Gables Inn is a true gem rich with history, comfort and hospitality. The front porch is the perfect spot for a book and a glass of Ros. Brick streets and hanging moss make walking the neighborhood extra special. In an architecturally stunning town on the St.John's River you will have loads to explore. Ravine State Park is within walking distance, as is the downtown area...definitely hit Magnolia Cafe and the pathway along the river. The beaches are about 20 minutes away, beautiful and not too "touristy". WE WILL BE BACK! Thank you.

Spent the weekend of February 10 and 11th there with my girlfriend. The owners Tate and Jesse were extremely hospitable. When we got there we got a tour of The inn that was built in the 1800s. They have done a great job restoring this house into a bed-and-breakfast and they made both of us feel at home. Everything from the pedestal bathtubs, furnishings and Decour was breathtaking.. I definitely recommend it and will be coming back. It s also located one block from the river and only a few blocks from downtown Palatka...

The house built before 1880 and still beautiful! Big wrap-around porch one block away from the St. John's River. Perfect place to stay.

What a gorgeous Inn! We loved it. Take a look at the pics, It looks like a castle from Disney. So beautifully decorated for Christmas. The room was clean, comfortable, cozy. Mr. Tate is such a gentleman and very kind, he offered us a ride from and to the train station, but we had already contacted a driver. He also paid for our breakfast because our train was going to leave early the next morning and we weren't able to wait for breakfast at the Inn. We truly recommend this B&B Inn. if you plan to go to St. Augustine and travel by train, your stop would be in Palatka. Stay there, you will be amazed! And this place is also so close to the Ravine State Garden, that is so beautiful. Can't wait to come back <3
