If most reviews were nice n superb, why friend encountered daylight nightmares?Friend paid Diesel Specialists roughly $31,000 for recommended engine n transmission replacements to restore 2015 Mitsubishi Fuso Diesel Truck. Friend trusted merchant's initial quote for the truck's Engine replacement at around $20k that was to be done in 5- 6 weeks but such turned into 5 months (September 2022 to February 2023) + another $10k for transmission + other replacement parts said needed. Upon pick up date, service rep said 'all good' , ready to go. Friend's nightmares began under the bright daylight. Friend a handicap still under spinal recovery took the truck, was informed that one tire needed replacement then noticed AC not working. Once traveled on the express way the box truck started loosing speed n exceleration.$31k payment for a 'all good to go' 16 foot truck broke down on expressway 45 minutes drive from Diesel shop. Why the "all good to go" truck still had bad Nox sensor n EGR issues as the shop re-diagnosed n informed that weren't detected after engine n transmission replacements? The shop quoted another 3k for the replacement. Boss said the shop initially informed friend the truck was not worth of fix. Friend and his co-worker both at the shop when paying $10k down payment last September did not recall such saying was suggested to them. Friend's senior mechanic noticed shop didn't credit $2,000 core fee on invoice, when confronted, boss said they will give back once manufacture credited them. Really? How nice! Friend never was inform of such.Friend's mental trauma occured for too trusting Diesel specialists. 5 weeks turned into 5 months, 20k turned into 31k and all good to go truck still not starting and now, '... told you not to fix' saga. Health issue occured when friend was stranded for hours with a broke down box truck by expressway; was not able to use toilet especially with his medical condition, such complicated urinary track infection. Friend hired lawyer try seek resolutions with merchant. Merchant offered settlement to replace Nox Sensor n EGR valve issues for free but friend CAN NOT bring a 3rd party mechanic to help him inspects all jobs done by merchant. Friend wants to prevent unnecessary breakdown again once driven out from service lot.Sadly merchant refused such request citing 3rd party mechanic not allows doing service on merchant's property.Merchant's Settlement indicated once free replacements done, friend is to: not come back, bye bye (merchant hands washed), sign the settlement, agree not to discuss and expose what happened. This time friend refuses to trust nor sign.

Never thought the day would come where i would be writing a bad review about this place. I brought my truck in for a power steering leak and adjust my parking brake. Well turns out they over tightened parking brake and knocked the shifter selective valve out of place. They charged me over 250.0 dollars to do a diagnostic check and they still couldn't figure out the problem they did. I took it to Detroit diesel and they broke every thing down to me and described to me the damage that diesel specialist did. I had to spend another 950.0 dollars to repair the damage that diesel specialist did. This place has gone from diesel specialist to diesel beginners. I miss the old owner and his crew

We purchased a truck from Diesel Specialists back in 2012, the purchase was very easy and great to deal with the sales team. For the last 5 years we have had the truck maintained by the great team here. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a truck!

I've been bringing my Diesel trucks to Mark since he started in business here. There are mechanics much closer to my business, but there's no one I trust more than Mark. The extra drive is definitely worth it to me.
