I have been working with Hoover performance for 2 years now from regular maintenance to 800hp dream build over a few of my cars and other toys. He is a very honest person who sits down with me and helps direct my goals into realistic options. I know when I walk out of his office we came up with the best realistic options for the car. Very good with warranties. This is a good person who deserves success. Thanks for everything so far and more cars to come!

Thomas Hoover has staffed his operation with experts who are renowned and legendary in Northeast Florida and they never fail to impress me. My off-road vehicle gets extreme use and I have the confidence of expert maintenance, performance parts and repairs. Best of all, they are personable and strive to insure that you are fully satisfied with their services.

I took my 60+ year car to be retrofitted with power disc brakes and AC. As well as updated electrical and a new carburetor. Not only did Thomas and his crew come through, they exceeded my expectations. I will definitely remain a life long customer.

Took a 24 year old suv in for some minor maintenance and an oil change. Had been having an issue with bump steer and the battery leaking and dying after a few days of sitting from a parasitic draw. I have been working on cars for over 25 years but do not have the expertise or equipment to diagnose things like they can. They found multiple suspension bushings were allowing much more play in the suspension than normal which was causing the sloppy steering and bump steer. The parasitic draw (I tried EVERY fuse to find it) was actually the alternator causing a strange micro current draw but also over charging at 15v when the vehicle was at idle. Would have never been able to find that without their specialized equipment.Great service and communication, expert knowledge and capabilities, would recommend to anyone who needs a shop that really knows what they are doing.

Hoover Automotive installed a lift kit on my Ram 1500. Thomas sent me pics through out the process, paint marked every nut and bolt, and it came out GREAT! I was even able to order the lift kit through Hoover Automotive and have it delivered to their shop. Ordering through them kept me from having to store and then load up an entire pallet of parts! Even though it took the shop longer than they thought, they never cut a corner! I highly recommend you take your projects here, if quality is important to you! I m sharing my experience with Hoover automotive and performance. I have a 2017 Hyundai Tuscan and I took it to a Hyundai dealership to run a diagnostics for the issue I was having, I wasn t sure of the results that they gave me so I got a second opinion through Hoover automotive and performance. Thomas did a diagnostics he told me what he found, and I had him repair my car. It was less than what the dealership would have charged. Thomas is very thorough. He gives you updates as to what he finds. He attaches pictures and notes. 100% recommend Hoover, automotive and performance

I was recommended on Facebook to take my tundra to Thomas at Hoover Automotive several years ago and have been nothing but pleased with every experience. From brakes and oil changes to lifts and timing belts. Excellent communication, reliable and honest. I won t go anywhere else.

Had an alignment done on my 2010 Tundra lifted with 35s and some aftermarket suspension parts. I have had it since 2011 with only 12k miles. They went above and beyond to make this thing ride great and took there time being as meticulous as can be and fine tuning it even after the last shop failed to get it in spec and already had chopped tires. I m a do it yourself kind of man, but after today s fine display of professionalism and knowledge amongst the team, I am now team Hoover Automotive. Semper Fi!

I had my entire engine replaced by these guys and everything is great from communicating to the work I just did the first oil change and everything is good... Hard to find an honest mechanic and he is a good one thank you Thomas from the Mazda 3

I wanted to share my experince after finding a mechanic we can trust. We had a great experience taking our older Lexus to Hoover Automotive. They were quick to get us in and provided excellent service. The cost was very reasonable and the service was top notch. They run an honest business and really care about doing a good job. I was having a conversation with my next door neighbor about the i just purchase the airbags and compressor for my chevy silverado and now i have to find a place to have them installed. He recommended this location and ask for Brian they just to work together. Next day February 20 i stop by and i meet Brian i told him the my next door neighbor his name is Chris recommended this place and to ask for you. Brian took some time to remember him but eventually he did. I told Brian i just purchase new airbags and compressor for my 2021 chevy silverado and i would like to know if you could installed them for me and how much the labor would be. He went to speak to someone at the shop and came back he wasn't sure how many hours would take he didn't want to tell me is going to take 6 hours but it only took 3. So to make sure he ask me to send him the link of the airbags and compressor to his cellphone so they could do some research so they could know exactly how many hours would take. I told Brian that fine with me take your time doing your research but i need them to be installed by March 6 so Brian said he will contact me. I waited into March 5 and Brian never contacted me. So i call Dixieland Offroad Inc but since it was short notice the best day they could installed them is on Friday March 8 and i said no problem i be there first thing in the morning.

Love the way this came out. Thomas was amazing the whole way thru from making sure all the right parts were ordered to working with the manufacturers to make sure everything was installed correctly. He kept me in the loop at all times and helped work around my schedule. Great communication the whole time. I will definitely be back for other services. Thank you so much.

I called around to 5 different shops trying to get my wife s vehicle fixed and Hoover Automotive was the only one that would work on it. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional. They did a very thorough pre check and honest with what needed to be done. Service was completed in a realistic timeframe. I would definitely recommend them and will be back with my other vehicles!

This is the only place I will take my 370z to. They always do a way better job than any shop I have been to. Completely thorough and never had an issue. I recommend them to everyone.

Quality! These guys are awesome! They are so helpful and knowledgeable. You know that they will take care of any issue and be upfront with you about what it is that needs doing. Better than going to the dealership.

Long overdue review. A couple weeks ago a sent an Infiniti to this shop based on word of mouth recommendation. Based on my concerns I did not expect the high repair bill but yet agree to it. I'm a diesel tech myself so I know the business. Fast forward add some extra money in the mix get the car back but had some minor issues that were addressed immediately but my test drive was longer. Week and a few days later still no issue and honestly we could not be any happier with the repair. I myself performed the same rear repairs in a different vehicle and therefore wasn't too happy about a second one.Thomas Hoover and his team are the absolute best at what they do. Thumbs up they'll be getting our money when I'm too lazy to do the repairs so I wholeheartedly recommend Hoover Automotive and Performance

It isn't too often that I'm impressed with an automotive shop, but Hoover Automotive really amazed me. I brought my Tundra in and within 30 minutes Thomas had me back on the road.Overall the shop is extremely clean, as was the office and restroom.Thomas definitely takes pride in his business and it shows.Fair pricing, excellent customer service and a professional clean environment.I will continue to do business with Hoover Automotive and I certainly recommend this shop to anyone looking to service their vehicle.

If first impressions mean anything, these guys are pros. Thomas and his crew are very personable, professional and thorough. They did a pre purchase vehicle inspection for me on short notice ( ) and made sure I understood exactly what the inspection revealed and their (luckily very few) concerns. This is the only automotive business I trust to do work on my granddaughters car. Thomas the owner is a remarkable young man that has built this business in such a short time into a huge success because of his diligence, honesty and customer service. My granddaughter goes to school in Gainesville and was coming over for 1 day to visit and mentioned a continuous problem with her A/C even though it had supposedly been fixed by a mechanic in Orlando (her home town) Because we had used Thomas before with a thorough diagnostic test getting her ready for college, I decided to call him and he did his magic all in one day, keeping myself and my granddaughters father informed as to progress and then emailing us the full diagnostic test.Sorry this is so long, but I cannot be more impressed with this young man and business. I was a long time customer of Brian Billings. Brian retired and sold his business to Thomas. I have had Thomas do work for me at least 3 times since he opened. Very pleasant experience each time. He has handled a couple issues that could have turned out to be costly and each time he was able to get the job done at a reasonable cost. Twice he has been able to help me on short notice without an appointment. I'm hooked. He's my mechanic now. He has my highest recommendation. They say you can't have all 3, cheap, fast and quality. Well Thomas comes as close as you can get.

I m usually not one to write a review but I feel this I time I need to. Tom and Jeff are absolute LEGENDS!!! I brought them my truck which I had a terrible vibration after doing everything to fix what I thought could be an issue I decided to man up and take it some where. I went to the dealership first and they looked at it for 2 hrs to tell me they couldn t find the problem along with another shop both costing me my first born child (not really but might have well been). After I brought it to Hoover, tom and Jeff dove into the truck like it was their own personal truck. They found the problem which no else could. Tom and Jeff replaced my transfer case which was the problem all along for what I could only was assume their cost (not driving the price to sink my wallet). This is one shop that actually is out to help the customer and not take advantage of them. Not only do I recommend Hoover I recommend you don t go anywhere else. THESE GUYS KNOW WHAT THEY RE DOING!!!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Transmission repair, Auto maintenance

I have to shout out Thomas and his shop for just being an above and beyond guy and a great shop.I took my G37 in to have an exhaust leak fixed (tired of pulling the cats off after 4 times to fix it at the cat to manifold flange), to check a suspected suspension noise, and to give the car an overall check since it's starting to creep up in miles.The honesty Thomas has with how he runs his shop is bar none. He not only had the car fully checked over and diagnosed in less than a day, but he communicated with me in a way that helps you know your car is in great hands. He didn't try to push any unnecessary work like a lot of shops would, had facts to back up what he found, and caught some very small issues I hadn't noticed on the car. Not only did he offer to repair the issues, he presented multiple options rather than jumping to the most expensive route. Again, he runs an honest business with a reputation that matches.The great part is not only did he take care of the issues I brought the car in for, he knocked out some maintenance I didn't have time for while also adding some Z1 upgrades to improve the ticking time bomb that is the heater hose connector with a bleed valve without the Z1 wait time! It's nice to have a local Z1 hookup 15 minutes away if you need it. Pricing on parts and labor were very fair, and that comes from someone who loves to do my own work and save money when I can.Finally, he let me and my son talk his ear off for 45 minutes chatting about cars.10/10 would recommend his shop as the best in the west side!Services: Auto exhaust system repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

This is the best automotive shop in Jacksonville and honestly one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My family collects old Toyotas and I would bring any of our cars to Thomas. If they don't have the answer they find it, and they are always honest. If you have a Japanese vehicle in Jacksonville this is the place to take it. I will continue to drive an hour to this shop as long as I live in Jacksonville. Great work and even better people.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Thomas was wonderful! I recently bought a 2001 Lexus is300 that had a terribly maintained motor. He got the motor completely refreshed with all new seals, new timing belt, new plugs and wires, everything! I really appreciate everything he s done and will no doubt be coming back for any further maintenance. I highly recommend stopping by. Fair pricing, no up selling, straight forward and honest! What more can you ask for. Thanks again! It was a pleasure doing business and looking forward to the future.
