Beautiful surroundings, quiet and idyllic. The scenery was beautiful, saw fish, turtles, lots of birds and a few sounds we thought may have been bigger mammals. The walk is perfect for those who want to experience nature without going too far. Park up and head for a wander. The light just before sunset was amazing.

Kirby Storter was an unexpectedly wonderful stop big Cypress preserve. The boardwalk starts at being very unassuming, but in the middle of the trail, you encounter a cypress swamp with very large cypress trees. That is so impressive. the alligator deep pond at the end of the boardwalk is beautiful I saw many birds even in the rain But no alligators as they were likely in the water, keeping warm, being in the colder air from the rainWheel check, accessible flat boardwalk is an easy hike for virtually anybodyA super great stop Do it!

Great boardwalk with abundant wildlife. We saw fish, turtles, a lot of birds and cool forestry. I would bring mosquito spray and sun screen - only part of the trail is shaded and those parts are in mosquito heaven.Restrooms: Restrooms at parking lot.Picnic area: Large picnic area with many tables under shade roofs.

Nice stop to stretch legs on way home. "Old Florida". Nice boardwalk with educational signs along the way. Did not see any gators but did see many birds. It was cold (50s yikes)so bugs weren't an issue.Restrooms: Composting non flushable toilets. No plumbing/running water. Did have hand sanitizer available.

Nice boardwalk and the longest one I found in Big Cypress, about a mile round trip. The boardwalk takes you over the swamp where you can see lots of birds and cypress with their cypress knees. A must do if in Big Cypress!

I did the boardwalk here at the recommendation of rangers, and loved it. Great to see the different habitats as you took the walk and it was cooler in my case, on a hot day!

"Ventured into Kerby Shorter State Park, or as I now affectionately call it, 'Nightmare Haven.' Picture this: a dark night, a mysterious man materializes out of nowhere, and suddenly we find ourselves in an otherworldly rendezvous. Oh, and did I mention the giant ape man? Yeah, he joined the party. As we innocently gazed at the stars, the night took a turn straight out of a horror movie. The man emerged from the shadows, offering a joint like he was the gatekeeper to the twilight zone. And there we were, puffing away with Sasquatch's more fashionable cousin. It was a stargazing experience, alright just not the kind I signed up for. Note to self: next time, bring a flashlight, pepper spray, and maybe a guidebook on interdimensional encounters. Kerby Shorter, you've officially spooked me into rethinking my celestial aspirations. One star for the stars, and five for the unexpected fright fest."Restrooms: They have them bit, mehPicnic area: Very nice

Great little boardwalk, it goes through multiple environments on your way back. Keep an eye out for snakes, birds, and orchids!

Short and sweet out and back boardwalk. A nice little off road attraction to stretch your legs and take in the sights. The boardwalk is Semi-shady with a few areas with benches. Informative kiosks along the way that describe the scenery as well as some historical facts. The bromeliads were in full bloom. My small children enjoyed it.

Amazing little stop while going past the Everglades. There is a boardwalk thats about a 5-10min walk and at the end is a rather large pond around with plenty of fish and turtles. There is quite a lot of parking and a restroom and there are a few picknick tables.Restrooms: There is a restroom.Picnic area: A few picknick tables.

This half-mile long boardwalk into the cypress swamp is my favorite roadside stop in Big Cypress Preserve. The boardwalk crosses several habitats that attract many different birds. Best early in the day. Also check the edges of the parking area for a variety of butterflies

Short out and back boardwalk will take you over a grassy section and into some woods. We spotted geckos doing push-ups on the hand rails, a swimming ring snake, woodpeckers, and (best of all) we saw a hawk snatch a giant bullfrog out the swamp. It was our favorite stop of the day. Restrooms and plenty of parking.

A great place to walk into the swamp while being safe. The boardwalk is several feet above the swamp and is totally dry unless it rains. The half mile boardwalk passes through 4 distinct swamp ecosystems. Be sure to plan your walk during a ranger led presentation.Restrooms: Two vaulted restrooms

The boardwalk here is beautiful! Big cypress trees growing right out of the water. Not a very long walk but gorgeous the entire way.The restroom, on the other hand, was disgusting - literally the nastiest pit toilet I've ever used. There were feces smeared on the front of the toilet and garbage and urine on the floor. The hand sanitizer dispenser was broken too. There also is no water here, so make sure you bring some.Restrooms: Nasty pit toilet with no water and broken hand sanitizer dispenser

Good little spot nearby the camping and airboating adventure to stroll around and experience the ecosystem of the everglades from close. Good pier and a trail that leads to a swamp which has gators and turtles, with a nice hut along the way. Plenty of parking space makes it accessible. I d recommend it for quick (1-2hour) stop and take the glades in at leisure.

Always a cool place to stop on the way to Naples! Definitely make the stop and see what animals you find. It s about 15-20 minutes to walk to the end of the boardwalk. The Everglades is full of life and all kinds of noises lol. Planning to stop here every time and see what we find!

Pleasant location to enjoy a picnic lunch. The park offers covered picnic tables and a very nice elevated boardwalk into a large stand of cypress. The only drawback is that it's close enough to the highway that you can hear almost constant road noise.

Curiosity got the best of me and it showed me this hidden gem. This quiet little place has a great picnic area and a comfortable stroll to a seating area to view the nature of this preserve. Recommend it for some zen along the way.

Great place to rest. No guard, but we felt safe. The restroom is to be expected. No running water, but in a time of need..Doodoo whatcha gotta do. The trail is great, I don t know how long it is as it started to get dark we turned back. The park attendant was there early in the morning to clean and he was very polite. #stealthcamping

Beautiful boardwalk trail, especially when you reach the end! It starts out as an open grassland then becomes swampy, and opens out to a gorgeous clearing. Definitely take the time to stop here if you're in the Big Cypress area!

The best access (barring any walking or buggy tour) into the cypress swamp, a really unique and fascinating eco system.

Best Boardwalk along Hwy 41. Nice views, the vegetation is not too thick so there are some great views.. Lots of wildlife. Bring binoculars. Wish itwas longer or that there were some trails on the prairie.
