Set up an appointment which took me 2 weeks to get in for for simple clutch cable that broke,I already had the new part in hand. They called me a day before my appointment saying it would be next week before they would look at it. They quoted me 1 hour labor for the job, $100. A few days later they called saying it would be $600 labor to install the cable because some wires were in the way. I told them do not touch anything I would come and pick up my vehicle. Then they wanted $100 for diagnostic fees. I told the guy I already told you the clutch cable was broken. So I gave him $50 and said see ya. The biggest bunch of clowns and crooks Ive ever encountered.ended up having a friend run me over to where my tools were and did the job in my driveway. I never had to remove anything else to replace the clutch cable. Took me about 45 minutes total time to replace the clutch cable myself.

The owner Mike, his son Nathan, and the mechanics are extremely helpful people. I do not know much about vehicles, but they always get my car fixed fast and for a decent price. They find my problems immediately when I come in to have it looked at. I am very grateful to have them! I had some work done on a vehicle out of state. Soon as i got it back it started having issues. Mike and his team went over the work that was done and repaired some of the less than stellar work I had done previously. Mike has no doubt earned his reputation for being hands-down the best repair and restoration facility in New Smyrna Beach, or anywhere around for that matter. He goes above and beyond to provide the most skilled service possible and all his staff follows suit. When you know your repairs are going to be costly, but you trust the company 100%, that says all you need to know. My GMC truck is in Mike's shop now and the repairs won't be cheap. But Mike has gone out of his way to minimize the costs, has kept me up to date at each stage of the repair, has tried his best to offer options to reduce some of the costs while not sacrificing quality, and has been a pleasure to deal with. He sincerely cares about the customer and puts himself in your shoes. That's such a rare quality these days. Thank you, Mike, and thanks to all your crew! Mike was able to replace the compressor for the ac, and kept me informed about the process. On the way driving to town to bring our cat to the vet Our Drive Shaft under the truck broke in half.So called Mike and he worked hard to find a replacement but with no luck.Then he asked someone he knew to build a new one for our truck since due to length of the old drive shaft he could not find that new part.Luckily someone could build one. Mike put in the new drive shaft for us which was well built.Mike is a GREAT GUY, VERY CONSCIENTIOUS and DEPENDABLE. And he has very nice peopleworking with him. The starter on my 1997 Nissan pick-up needed replacing. After reading the 100% positive reviews of Southern Auto, I decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed! MIke and his team are simply awesome--knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. Mike replaced the starter at a very reasonable price within an hour. Southern Auto will be my repair shop of choice going forward. A good, trustworthy mechanic is hard to fine. Glad I found Mike and Southern Auto! Next time you need a repair, take it to Southern Auto. You won't be disappointed either.

Drove into Southern Auto Repair and Resauration with a strange chirping vibration on my 30 year old Alfa Romeo Spider, which two other European car shops either could not, or did not bother, to identify. Mike (the owner) came out to the lot to listen to the sound and told me it was a vibration in the muffler. Asked me to call him after I returned from a vacation I had already planned to schedulle the service.He looked up the part, ordered it and changed it at a cost to me that was $50 below the best price of just the part I could locate. Also custom cut a similar Chevy gasket himself.He knows auto mechanics, is fair and a nice guy to get to know.Services: Exhaust, Auto exhaust system replacement

While at new Smyrna vacationing. Needed to get new tail lights on my truck. I was sold the wrong ones back home. Mike was able to track down the correct lights, and got me right in and did a good job. I would recommend him to anyone. He did a very outstanding job!

My jeep was overheating and I was in need of a good mechanic and that s exactly what I found when I pulled into Southern auto! The guys jumped right into my repairs and worked hard to save money on the new fan I needed. They took care of everything all in one day plus a couple things that were not related to the overheating!!! Thanks Mike and crew. My son and daughter in law's van was overheating. I remember when my wife and I were down from Pa, two weeks ago, seeing this yellow auto repair shop very close to where they live. I thought nice, they have a auto shop close by. Little did I know, they would need some help getting the only vehicle running that they rely on to get around. I called Southern Auto and spoke with Mike and explained the situation. Mike didn't know me from Adam, had the car towed over and he went to work on it the same day. Got a new water pump installed but it also needed a radiator. Mike got the radiator installed the next day and got them rolling again. I highly recommend Southern Auto repair!!! If I lived down in new Smyrna, he would be where I'd take my cars to get serviced!!!

An older gentlemen did a routine inspection for me on a truck I was buying. Helped ease my mind on the lift already installed. Told me to tell the dealership to fix a list of things after he looked at everything. Great service and walked me through everything he was doin mg and checking. My family and I bring all our vehicles to Mike at Southern Auto Repair. After spending thousands of dollars in sink hole auto repair shops, we found Mike! He knows his vocation, he s honest and extremely fair in pricing. I can t say enough good about this place! Do yourself a favor, make Mike at Southern Auto Repair and Restoration your mechanic. 1st time I went there. My AC was coming out hot. They said I needed a new compressor which fine if I need it. I need it. They charged me over $600 for it plus $300 and something for labor. Which is fine! Total $1010.00Came to find out a compressor is around $300.00 prices are way too inflated! But hey, at least they gave 1 year warranty!

Mechanic has vast knowledge and understanding of all types of cars. Puts the customers needs first, and it shows. Won't be going anywhere else for service. Mike's prices are very fair and competitive. I also enjoy supporting local businesses.

Just passing through town at 1:00pm I could smell burning pads and had to find an emergency mechanic. Luckily Mike at Southern was my first call and couldnt believe my luck. Even after finding a cracked brake cylinder and warped rotor on top of a full work day he had me and my van back on the road again by 5;30. His calm and compassion was the most valuable asset to his amazing abilities I could've asked for in a time of my stresses overriding his personal commitments. Thank you so very much Mike for all your help.

Great shop!You hear a lot of stories about mechanics going out of their way to overcharge customers and then nickle and dime them outta as much money as they can. Not the case here. I was treated with respect and even got some free help that fixed an annoying light on my dashboard. Highly recommend.

Found a Honest, Reliable and Reasonable Price Mechanic in town!!Took my truck to Mike, Southern Auto, and after he went over it, he found the problem, rear differential, and fixed it while I waited Gave the under side a complete inspection and did not come back and try to sell me things I did not need or were not warn out. My Place from now on!!

I just picked up my 1967 Ford Fairlane station wagon from Southern Auto after a disc brake conversion. "Dorothy" now actually stops! Mike does great work at a fair price, and he has worked on all my cars.

Great Service! I went needing an oil change and he didn't bamboozle me with random fee's or try to up-sell me. He provided fast, efficient, and quality service! I HIGHLY recommend this company for all of your vehicle needs.
