I have never had to file a claim before, nor have I hade to work with a body shop. After reading reviews on several body shops, I was dreading what laid ahead. The staff at Gerber Collision and Glass are wonderful!! The receptionist, Shawna, was friendly and attentive to costumers needs while waiting for estimator. Kim, my estimator, was incredible! Not only did she explain everything that needed to be done but dealt with my insurance company AND made arrangements with Enterprise for my rental while my truck is being worked on! Also, one of the techs did a temporary fix so my passenger door could be opened without causing more damage! I will add to my review after I get my vehicle back but so far, Gerber Collision and Glass are 5 star all the way!!

I had an incredibly seamless experience with Gerber Collision & Glass. I was involved in an car accident in early January and my car needed repairs. When I first stepped foot into the office, I was greeted by all the ladies in the office and I was blown away by how kind, understanding, and informative the staff was. I was given a rental which was great and the team worked well with my insurance company, I was kept updated through the whole process by Matt. When I picked up my car, the lady at the front desk went over everything with me in detail and answered all my questions, she was a delight, she even let my son have a loli while we waited for my husband to get all of our belongings switched back over from the rental car. My car looks great, thanks again so much to all for a job well done. I cannot get over how nice the entire team was.

**In response, I have not been further contacted as stated below. I feel you owe me a refund based off of your own guarantees and even the recording when you call customer service that states we know you trust us to return you a fully repaired and safe vehicle. I pay alot each month so I only have a $500 deductible, however any portion of that...Even just a portion of the profit you made or the commission paid to the guy you had estimate this should be refunded in good faith . I still feel like you don't truly care to do the right thing .... Geico should be requesting some refund for this too, but that is on them ... My portion is my right to argue however ****Very dishonest. Went to pick up my daughters Jeep and it was squeaking terrible. Thier own mechanic admitted to hearing it squeak that day before they called to say the repairs were complete. They had me leave it, take the rental car againand I had to call for an update days later . Noone called me .They stated they rely on tire kingdom for all thier mechanic work and only do the body work in-house. Tried to state the squeak was breaks. I said car sterring wheel was turned to the right during accident and no squeak prior to accident. Requested and begged they get another opinion from a reputable mechanic, not tire kingdom...They refused , restated it was breaks, and hung up. I was not going to let my teenager take possession of an unsafe vehicle . I had to have Geico tow the vehicle from thier location to the dealership purchased _boniface . They found $1700 drive shaft still broken . Geico paid it as still under the claim, and when I brought it to thier attention the Gerber district managers stance was..So what,every one makes mistakes, and this is no big deal. Ok, so Felt they had no responsibility to return a safe vehicle to a teenage girl after collecting thousands of dollars.. well. Ok.. Never again .

Unfortunately, can t put zero stars complete waste of space in the office with complete lack of communication and corporate rules that apparently change on a daily basis I ll try picking my car up on the third time around since. No one can make up their mind on what rules they want to follow that day. Everybody here, including a manager apparently needs a refresher course on rules and understanding why you shouldn t be wasting peoples time. Save the headache for yourself and go somewhere else.

Fantastic service from the front to the back teams. The woman who helped at the front desk, and Matt who helped guide me through the repairs were kind and very helpful. The repair was easy and seamless. My car looks amazing having been rear ended in an auto accident. They even vacuumed the inside which was totally unexpected but very appreciated.The entire process of dealing with the post-accident medical care has been its own headache, so my experience with the team at Gerber was a breath of fresh air. Thanks to all who played a part into helping get my life back to normal!

I was having a really bad week when I brought my car in for repairs from an accident that was no fault of mine. I work two jobs and have no family in the area. My insurance didn t cover a rental and it was not in my budget. I had no choice but to take public transportation and a Uber a few times when the bus was not an option. When I came in to the shop to pick my car up things where not as my insurance company explained and being that I had a very rough week I got a little frustrated and Shamone and Shawna were absolutely amazing with helping me. They both went out their way to help me during my rough week. Thank you ladies. Awesome service from both.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

Office staff was friendly, very helpful and most importantly, quite efficient. So it is 2 months later and I have picked up our repaired Prius. When I dropped it off here it looked very, very bad. I literally had to use bailing wire and duct tape to keep more parts from falling off and also keep the rain out! Now I cannot tell that it was ever severely wrecked because of the very fine work performed by those who work here at Gerber Collision & Glass. I can highly recommend Gerber to anyone needing automotive glass or body work , no matter how badly your auto is damaged. Thank you to everyone here!

I strongly recommend people to avoid this body shop. They took my truck in and told me it would be a fast turn around. Turns out it took them over a month. (Which is fine I understand things happen).You would expect them to call you with updates along the process like they claim they do but they don t. I ve reached out numerous times week after week looking for answers and updates on my truck and I get no response. Fast forward to when they finally called me the day my truck was done, I drive over an hour to get there only to find out there is damages all over the front end of the truck. The manger comes out very rude and unprofessional mad at me because I am pointing out damages I see on my truck. (Cracked front grill, broken bumper, dented hood).He proceeds to tell me that all I need to do is pay the remaining balance and he will order all new parts and call me when they come in. Well it has been weeks since then I have called numerous times asking to speak with the manager or Matt who was handling my claim and I haven t received a response yet. I ve sent them emails with pictures and descriptions of the damages and nothing. I don t know what else to do. I really hope someone will read this and just think twice before this establishment steals over 8,000$ from you too. Carl Cataldo is the so called manager after seeing how rude and unprofessional he is. It s obvious his negligence and toxicity has rubbed off on the staff, causing them not to care about you or your experience when you visit this establishmentServices: Painting, Body & Trim

I was going to give this shop five stars but the amount of delays has caused me to only give them one. I don t fault them for waiting on approval from the insurance company but I do fault them for taking and additional 3.5-4.5 days to finish my car. With a hurricane on the way I need that car back asap!! I just called your shop and was informed that I will not get my car backuntil Wednesday or Thursday!? This is absolutely ridiculous. I know it does not take an additional 3-4 days to paint a vehicle, reassemble it and wash it. Especially when it should have been in paint 3 days ago! As soon as that approval came from the insurance company you should have put it in the paint booth! Also, the hurricane will be in full force during the time you say it ll be ready and my car is the last thing I want to worry about. I NEED MY CAR BACK!!!!!! I don't care if you have to stay late today and tomorrow to get it complete. GET IT DONE!*UPDATE!* I did eventually get my car back and the repairs are pretty decent quality. Only time will tell how well the paint holds up. The only qualm I have at the moment is there is noticeable overspray and large white spots (almost like hazy white) in the paint that need to be buffed out but I know that once I have time to swing by Gerber they will happily buff those out for me (*ahem). With that said I ve updated my 1 star review to 4.

This location was truly a delight to work with. My car went in on a Thursday for a bumper re-paint, and the next morning it was good as new and ready to go. Carl was GREAT and very professional and willing to help in anyway that he could which I really appreciated. The paint job came out great and I would highly recommend this location to anybody needing a paint repair.Service: Painting

Update on my earlier review of gerber collision in Merritt Island, the general manager Richie reached out to me in response to my review on the genesis g70 work that was done, I spoke with him and he had me bring my car into his shop in cocoa and set me up with a rental car so I could still get to work, only took him one day and the car looks like new, the mark on the bumper lip is gone and the weird scuffing in the paint as well, no more gap by the taillights either, car was even cleaned and looking great when i got there, special thanks to Richie and his team for reaching out to me! Body work looks great, but there s an issue with the LED trim light that stopped working shortly after on same side as repair. Been calling for months to no avail to find out if Insurance would pay since this is on the and not me of person that hit me. Even tried calling national 800 number and still nothing! This has been going on for months! I have to do all the leg work and still no response from Gerber M.I. I will never use them for repair again! Even my dealership says this is on the repair work by someone that doesn t even work at Gerber anymore!Carl! Thank you for fixing issue!Service: Body & Trim

I have used the Merritt Island repair shop before, very good,results. However, this time acommunication problem causedconfusion as my virus protectionsoftware sent Gerber'comms toneverland!!My car is a Genesis.Gerber found the parts and had them installed on time with anundiagnosed headlight problem.Fixed problem second time.Overall good job, some glitchesbut i am pleased.

The Body Shop work is good however customer service forget about it call you keep you updated inform you of what's going on forget about it you have to be the one to keep calling them after getting the body work done on my car I no sooner was off the lot and system malfunction lights come on I brought the car back three times for the same issue still not fixed. They brought it to dealership 2x's I had to pay over $200.00 and STILL NOT FIXED. Something happened to my car while in the care of Gerber and I got stuck paying for it... Not to mention at least $3,000. in wages lost due to this.They do good body work I will say that...

They greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. My insurance company had already been in contact with them so they went over the repairs and had me sign over the keys to them.Seems to be a very professional group of technicians. I looked at the cars that were done and awaiting pick up. Showroom quality. Can't wait to get mine back!UPDATE 8-17-20. I got my car back! These guys did a great job. Can't tell that my lady's Focus was ever banged up.Highly recommend Gerber Collision and Glass for car and truck body restoration.

I can't say enough great things about this business, its people and professionalism. They took my car in immediately after someone hit my car in a parking lot and left. They repaired it perfectly and kept me informed every step of the way. They are very nice and reassuring that your car will be taken care of. I had a small fender bender and after three visits to Gerber and over two months later..... I need to take my car somewhere else as they actually put a used hubcap from the junk yard on my new tire. Then they never replaced the rim which is causing damages. The car is still not driving right. They assured us it would be taken care of. It just sat there all day for the third time only to not be fixed as they claimed it already was?????Then lady said Gerard was supposed to call us and inform of this. He never did..... so another wasted day with no car. Made complaint with insurance and they are sending us elsewhere. Please beware of this particular branch as they do not follow through at all. Much more happened to lead me to this complaint but too much to put in writing. If you want speedy service with accuracy- find another shop through your insurance.

I totalled my car a couple of years ago and it was towed to Gerber Collision. When I walked in the door, the receptionist called over an intercom to say I was there and I heard someone immediately reply, "Is she ok? " What a caring way to start a business relationship. Needless to say, I went straight back when I recently needed minor body work. Everything was handled quickly, conveniently and professionally. Most of all I felt treated warmly. Gerber is great. Highly recommended.

I took my car in for an estimate today they were extremely knowledgeable fast and friendly. Rick even skipped his own lunch to help me. If you need your car fixed or just needed an estimate definitely go to Gerber in Merritt Island

A few years back I brought my truck to their cocoa location after a minor fender bender. It took them three weeks to get it fixed and the reason for this is because they backed my truck into another vehicle. They DID pay for a rental in the meantime, but overall I was unimpressed.Fast forward to now, this time at their Merritt Island location. I purchased a part from them, an instrument cluster. This was supposed to be programmed to my vehicle and keys. It was programmed to my vehicle, but not my keys so the vehicle would not start. I went to return it because the 450$ for the cluster+$350 for ford to program it was simply not worth it to me. They refused to refund me and said they never said the vehicle would start with the part even though I asked first before ordering and then before paying for if it would. They then clamed I should have researched it more even though I asked several times if my key would work in it. The best they said they could have done would be to get me a discount to have Ford program it.Be very wary because this company has failed me two out of two times at two separate locations. I would NOT recommend this company to anyone in fear them failing you as well. Your money is better spent elsewhere.****Update****Had their general manager, Mona, call me in an attempt to resolve the issue. This turned into the most pointless conversation of pushing the blame around that I have ever experienced. There was absolutely no attempt to resolve the situation. She in fact seemed confused by the fact that I have an issue with the favor and great deal they did me despite me not getting what was described.I have however since had the part programmed for a fair price at Island Lincoln without issue. These guys completely exceeded my expectations in both speed and cost efficiency, very professional people.Back to Gerber, again I absolutely WOULD NOT recommend them because if my past experiences tell me anything it is this, they will fail you.

Horrible. My daughter in law had her car towed there for estimate only. They started work without her saying ok. Promised her car would be safe I won t give you a car I wouldn t put my own kids in . Ordered the wrong parts. Couldn t complete work when promised. Car had horrible vibration and shake when finally was finished. Have to take it back. Don t even want to take it back there. Just horrible

Repairs were made faster than expected. I received an update phone call after 5pm every Tuesday and Thursday. Would definitely use Gerber again!

I would use them over and over again. They are so professional and kind, so much better than experiences I have had at other repair shops. I was SO HAPPY with them in all aspects! Thanks Gerber, if need be I will definitely use your services again.

In my 26 yrs of driving, this was my first accident, I was hit by a turning car.Customer services goes the extra mile. Michele Always comunicate with me and took the time to explain details I did not understand. My car looks wow like it never happened but sadly I cannot give all 5 start due to the mechanic guy. He fail to put everything he removed back. Gerber purchased and replacethe what was missing. Also he fail to properly attach covers underneath my car and on the wheels, this I cannot understand, I was hit on the passenger side but they were parts loose all over. I asked to speak with him. as I wanted answers but my car was his last job and he was unreachable I was told.I have taken my car back 3 times and they have being very professional and patience with me. I just wish that mechanics would have being also professional and taken the time to finish properly and put everything back, this would have definitely given me peace of mind.

Had an accident to where my door was pinched closed. They were able to get my door opened and functioning properly within a day. Although they did not fix the damage surrounding the door because my insurance would not cover that much, I'm sure they would have done just as good of a job

I operate and part owner of an auto repair and maintenance shop communication is key when you have a truck been sitting for several weeks no phone call until you call to check on your truck and they say it is complete ready for pickup yet no phone was ever received on my end for approval instead they completed the job without approval stating I had signed a document to repair it bottom line is this place is your generic run off the mill body shop with a pump and dump bait and switch attitude will never be going back here and the customers I serve have also had similar experiences. Avoid this place at all cost Rick is unprofessional and there are many better body shops on the island and brevard to name a few Buddy boys and Mitchco
