Mahoney's Auto Repair Shop was recommended to me by a co-worker. I had a problem with my car and took it to Mahoney's. My experience with them was great! They called with an estimate, which matched the charges, and had my car ready by 3:30. I was sent a copy of the itemized bill before I went to pick up the car. No surprises whatsoever when I arrived. The car is running great now. They communicated well, were timely and the price was fair. I will continue to take my car to them and will recommend them to family and friends. They care about servicing your car well. Thank you

New to FL and female it's important to find car people you can trust. Sal, Mike, and the rest of the crew at Mahoney's are the good kind of people who know their business & won't try to hustle you in the process. I've been here a few times and enjoy my experience each time work is always done well and professionally, keeping me safe on the road.

2ND REVIEW 01/26/2024: my car would not start and found I needed a new starter. I also asked them to check my car out for other issues which turned out to be some major issues. My car is 18 yes old and I want to keep it for yrs to come and i appreciate their honesty in helping me keep it in good condition. Plus I like that when they say they are going to call you they do.FIRST REVIEW approx three/four months ago: I have used Mahoney's several times. This last time, the other day, my tire's valve stem had broke and my tire was flat. My brother was able to put air in the tire but was uncertain if I would make it home as the tire was slowly leaking air. I was close to Mahoney's, called and they were able to fix it even though they were close to closing for the day. It didn't take long to fix but the fact that they took me in and did stay a bit past closing shows how much they were willing to help when it was needed. It is hard to find an honest and good mechanic. Mahoney's is it!

3.5Six years ago, my tire blew out, heading into work, and I was close to here. Stopped in, and they put the spare on for me for free that day. I had the same thing happen a few months ago when heading home around 340p, so I pulled in. They offered to do it... for $16. I was in a jam, I could not do it myself so I accepted and paid. Had to sit for around 20 minutes while the tech got around to it. They put my popped tire into the trunk and put all my work stuff, which are in bins neatly in place. I resolved with getting the busted tire replaced elsewhere, but Mahoney's got me home after a stressful moment that day.

Hubby replaced water pump at Mahoney s last summer and other repairs resulting in approximately $3000 parts & labor. The water pump recently failed and lost the universal belt which resulted in a hefty $300+ in towing fees expecting Mahoney s to honor the warranty and give a fair price for labor. Instead, approximately 3 hours labor was $600. The total bill was $870 (plus my towing fees). No proper explanation for incredibly high labor charges. I would not recommend. They do not stand up to their warranty and try to recoup more than justifiable.

I love bringing my SUV to Mahoney s for the past few years with the new owners. I drive over from the convention center area for service and so happy that I do. They are always so friendly & honest. I highly recommend this family owned business.

Came here to get my car diagnosed and fixed. They fixed my issue in less than a day and did an excellent job. They are honest and fair with their pricing. I will go back whenever I. Need anything.

This is the second time I bring a vehicle over to Mahoney's. This shop is outstanding. Owners are down to earth, honest, and have a very professional demeaner to them. Their shop is impeccably clean and organized. Lastly, they do great work. They keep you informed on what they are doing and anything else that may be wrong with the vehicle and are never pushy about getting any additional work done if you choose not to. I tend to be very finicky about who works on any of my vehicles but Mahoney's did some great work (major work at that). Kudos to Mahoney's and their staff! Recommend to anyone with car issues.Service: Engine repair

I was coming home from the Winter Park area on 3/31/2023 when I started to have traction control issues while getting on the interstate to head back north. Got off the first exit I could find which was Maitland. After trying to self fix it with restarting the car I had to try to find a place to diagnose it and to see if it could be fixed since I had a 2hr drive back home, and it was approaching 3:00pm, which most auto places close at 5:00After calling a few other places with no luck, I googled auto repair in Maitland, since I m unfamiliar with the area. First place that I found was Mahoney s. I called to see if they would be able to try to fix it since it was a last minute request, and explained my situation and that I was trying to get back home and that didn t feel comfortable driving back 2hrs while approaching interstate rush hour traffic mid way home with traction control issues.They told me to bring it in so they could try to diagnose it. It turns out that my spark plug and spark Ignition needed to be replaced, which was a quick fix. What I really appreciate was that they showed me the exact part from my car that needed to be replaced and explained in detail what went wrong, rather than just telling me x needed to be replaced.Price was really fair and I really appreciate that I was not pressured to buy anything extra that was not needed, which happens sometimes at the place I usually take it to back home.Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area and if I had lived in the Maitland area, I would make them my preferred auto repair. If I have any more auto troubles while in the area, they will be the first ones I go to.

I read a lot of reviews before deciding on an auto repair shop. I just moved and wanted to be sure I was not being ripped off. As a girl, I have ran into this problem multiple times, even with my knowledge of cars. The staff at Mahoney s treated me fairly and were very detailed in phone calls regarding diagnostics and price. Even when I came into the shop to pick up my car, there was a miscommunication that was instantly fixed and I left very satisfied. I feel like other reviews that are negative did not actually chat with the staff in the office to make it right. Mahoney s was delightful to work with! I will definitely be bringing my car here from now on.

Zero complaints at all. This place is fantastic and with reasonable prices. My first ever visit was to have my license plate swapped, the bolts were stripped and had to be drilled out. The mechanic not only did it for free, but completed it on the spot in the rain no less since they were busy. Just returned with my car that had other work completed and the process was a breeze. Very satisfied

I went in only for an oil change and they called me back telling me I needed new brake pads and air filter replacements.I told them not to do that and just change the oil.I went to another mechanic for a 2nd opinion and my 45000 mileage car was still fine with minimal wear on both the brakes and filters.They did a fine job with the oil change. But Mahoney's trying to find more things to work on my car wasn't appreciated.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Brakes, Oil change

I used to swear by Mahoney's. The repairs would always be solid and, more importantly, I never had to worry about being screwed over on price... Unfortunately it seems that after going there for well over 20 years, I now have to find another shop. The staff was great, punctual and communicated well, but the repair seemed a bit pricey for just a new radiator and hoses. Looking at the invoice today, it seems they charged me $64.00 per gallon of coolant? Seriously, $64 for what I'm assuming is a $10 bottle of Prestone and some water. I was also charged $61.91 and $92.86 for hoses that I can get at O'Reilly auto parts for 47.99 and 36.99 respectively. On top of all of that, the radiator overflow tank was not reinstalled properly. both screws securing it to the engine compartment are now missing and the overflow tank is just wobbling around only being supported by the $92.86 hose. it appears the mechanic had better things to do than to put two bolts back in their place. Sadly, the only place I will ever take my cars has become the last place I will take my cars.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Typical car mechanic upcharge and I'm very disappointed. I needed an oil change and they told me it would be $45. In the middle of them working on my car, they said that my air filters and my brake pads needed to be changed and it would be close to $400 and then they asked if they can go ahead with the repairs. I told them no, I just want the oil change, so they did that and when I went to pick up my car, it ended up being $70 because there were other charges they didn't account for when they gave me their quote for the oil change.Of course I didn't want to ignore any potential issues, so I went to Orlando Import Auto Specialists for another opinion and they said that my brake pads were still good and only about halfway used and they said the air filters could last until my next oil change before being replaced. We moved, which is why I wanted to find a closer mechanic, but I always trust Orlando Import Auto Specialist and regret going to a different place.Service: Oil change

In 15 years of owning a vehicle and living in many parts of Orlando, this is the best auto repair shop I have yet encountered. After a few poor experiences at Peacock Ford I went to Mahoney s. They correctly diagnosed my issues after failed attempts at the dealer. The dealer quoted me $500 to fix a part that wasn t broken. Mahoney s correctly identified the problem and fixed it for a fraction of the cost. They have a clear bent toward winning loyal customers. They did not try to sell me on parts I didn t need. In addition to being friendly and personable, they are thorough in their work, they take the time to fully listen to you, and then help you to understand the fullness of your mechanical problems and what is needed to fix it. I felt like a person at this establishment unlike at the dealer. Thank you, Mahoney s. You have gone above and beyond in earning my business. I will be back.

I will never trust my car to any shop other than Mahoney's! It is family owned and operated. They know what they are doing and are awesome people! This place us always busy for a good reason. If you need to take your car in, call ahead first as they are always packed with cars. Totally worth the wait (if any). I got my car back the next day. Not sure how they managed that with all of the other cars, but they did. If anyone gives Mahoney's less than a five star rating, they should be considered unreliable and out of their mind. Great prices, awesome customer service and amazing work!

I took my Mercedes to Mahoney s because my car was having a hard time starting. They diagnosed the issue and gave me a fair price on replacing the alternator and doing a full service. I picked up my vehicle and noticed it was smoking on my way home, so I called them and turned around- it was 5:45 when I pulled back in and I left it there for them to fix (expecting for it to be ready the following morning.) When I got home Sal called me and told me it was just an O ring that wasn t tightened properly, he apologized profusely and said he was going to drop my vehicle off to my house- he delivered my car to me within 30 minutes. These things can happen to any mechanic but the fact that he took his time after hours to fix the issue and then delivered my car to my house was above and beyond. It is rare to find mechanics that take this kind of pride in their work. I highly recommend them.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I have always tried to keep in mind the simple business principle: "Fast, Cheap, and Quality: Pick Two" when evaluating other companies. Mahoney's easily checks two boxes, Reasonably priced and Quality, and I will definitely be returning with my future car needs. They may not be the fastest shop around but I would take good prices and quality work over that any day. They are a good, clean business that is honest with you and tells you like it is. They recommended against doing one services I requested because it would not fix the problem I was experiencing and thought it would be a waste of time and money. I was blown away by their commitment to doing the work that needs to be done and taking care of their customers. Thank you Mahoney's!

I went to Mahoney's for the first tine because it was highly recommended. I dropped off my car on a Friday morning looking to have my right rear tire assembly looked at, and a check engine light checked out, and the first thing the guy asked is "Will you need it back today?" They mentioned being 2 guys short so I sympathized with them and told them no. I did not realize they were closed Saturday and Sunday too but that was my fault. I called Monday around 3pm, still without a diagnostic. Got a call back around 5pm saying they were short on people again and they would call me first thing in the morning. I did get a call Tuesday morning, 96 hours after the initial drop off. They said my car was so rusted out and asked if I had "found it underwater" I didn't appreciate being made to wait that long just to have someone look at it, and then being insulted on top of it. When I purchased the car it was inspected by a different mechanic, I guess the did not look hard enough. Mahoneys refused to work on it which is understandable, but then went ahead and did the scan anyway without asking, and charged me $120 for that. They even said there was no point trying to fix the check engine issue as the tire assembly was "unfixable" and it wasn't safe to drive. So why do the scan? I just feel like a lack of staffing and poor judgement caused unnecessary money and time spent, and the rude comment wasn't appreciated.I ended up junking the car.

These guys are AMAZING, they solved my car problems in less than 15 minutes. I went to Mercedes Benz, and there they charged me 53 dollars for nothing (2 hours waiting), plus wanted to charge 169 dollars to check what was happening with my car.So I decided to bring my car to Mahoney s Auto Repair and they were VERY quickly, professional, HONEST! I SUPER recommend this place and I will return for sure!!!Thanks guys!

I came here on recommendation of multiple friends when I needed a second opinion on my car ($1300 worth of repairs quoted originally). I drove almost an hour to get here, that's how strong the recommendations were. That's how much I trust the people who trust this place. I was not disappointed at all. They were so friendly and so quick with the inspection. Not only was there nothing wrong with my car but the mechanic showed me where the supposed work I needed should be done and showed how everything in that area was tip top. On top of all this, they did not charge me for the inspection. These guys blew me away with their service and understanding. If I have a non-emergency car issue, you bet your butt I'm driving across down to come here again!

Likes: People were super nice, convenience of the location was spot on, quick serviceDislikes: I got just an oil change and the price was steep for conventional oil ($63 with tax). They also didn t do any of the other things most places do.. check fluids and tires.. how do I know, you ask? Well, I have a small nail in the outside tread of my tire and it s been there for about 3 months... after the oil change.. still there and no one even told me about it. Checked my wiper fluid and it was low. They also didn t reset my oil life which, although easy, is inconvenient.For the price I paid, when you can go down the street and get great service and only pay $25, I expected more.

I am very disappointed with the present owners of Mahoneys When Mahoneys owned the business it was very comforting that Mahoney was honest and fair These new owners are very unfriendly and not helpful. They charge $165 just to diagnose your problem and this is not refundable even if you do the work with them I have found other mechanics in the area that are more reliable, honest and helpful And they only charge $60 to diagnose the problem I don t think Mahoneys will be in business Too much longer .

As a young female taking your car in to be serviced can be stressful in itself. The first time I brought my car here I knew my car was in good hands. I needed to have my front brakes replaced which he did for a very reasonable price, I want to say $120 for everything. I was also informed that I would need to have my back brakes replaced sometime in the future, no one tried to push anything on me or make me feel like I was being cheated, it was just an FYI. Just Brakes advertise $99 but I have heard horror stories of the work preformed while supporting Corporate America. I love supporting this local family business not only for that reason, but I also feel confident they are being honest with me and know that my car is being serviced properly. A great Auto Repair Shop is hard to come by. I strongly recommend having your vehicle serviced at Mahoney's.

I've been using this shop for about 2 years now and every time I have an issue with my car they go above and beyond with their services! They keep me updated, use the least expensive routes first (which is great for me, considering I am a young adult), explain why the car is having issues, and finish it in a timely manner. I am very grateful that my family referred me to them, as they use Mahoney's, too. I always make it a point to refer my friends as well whenever they have car problems.

I brought my car to the Honda dealership because it wouldnt stay running. After a week I was told they couldnt figure it out and wanted to begin process of elimination by changing parts for an astronomical amount. I had it towed to Mahoney s and they had it repaired the next day for a very fair price. Mahoney s is my auto care center.

I dropped my car off for an oil change and alignment and it was done super well. Steering wheel doesn t pull right anymore. David and Silvano seem like pretty good guys too and kept a conversation the whole time I was there. My family has been using Mahoney's for over 3 decades and never had any complaints. Bill does great work and his team works hard to make sure you are satisfied. Highly recommended!
