Took my 11 year old son to Ragan s family campground for Easter weekend with family friends. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped and beds were comfortable and we had AC. The kids had a blast playing GAGA ball and at the water slide. Adults had a great time fishing, sitting around the fire and playing bingo and other games. The campgrounds are clean, quiet and safe. We will definitely come back and would highly recommend!

This campground is truly for the whole family! They have a small water park, splash pad, pool, beach area, games, billiards, entertainment hall, putt-putt, craft and activities room... and much more. We only stayed one weekend but will definitely be back. The staff here go above and beyond what I've experienced at most campgrounds. When you check in they escort you to your site and make sure you can work everything properly or if you need help. The camp store is full of anything forgotten plus fun stuff. The water park and pools were so clean! The bathhouses were very nice as well! I'm impressed! Oh, and they rent cabins.Nearby activities: This campground is full of activities to do. The host puts out an itinerary each day.Safety: Plenty of life gaurds and other staff always around.Walkability: Walking trails and 4x4 trailsFood & drinks: They have a hot deli you can buy pizza and wings at, as well as a little hotdog stand.

Where to start...I agree with other reviews, this place has great potential; unfortunately it's far from what it could/should be, especially if paying the nightly rate. The Good:HUGE playground, big field to run around in. Mini golf, walking trails, frisbee golf. Jump pad, bounce house, volleyball court and some of the most beautiful trees we've ever seen. The Meh:This is a "pull-in site" campground. Sounds weirdly worded, but that's exactly what it is. Most of the sites appear to be for Class A's because of the fact that you are supposed to pull-in, facing whatever water structure you're near (fishing pond, retention pond, mosquito breeding pond). If you have an RV of any normal length, you may not be able to get your tow vehicle out because you'll run into said water feature. Some non-water front sites require all of your stuff in your site to be moved so the person in the site behind you can pull into your front yard to get their rig in. (Plus side- we met some great neighbors because of this). You can mention the size of your rig and the number of slides when you reserve, but it's solely to hear yourself talk, as they do not use that info to match your RV to an appropriate size site. If you "know how to drive and park a rig", you can surely fit in any of their sites, despite not being able to open slides because of trees. While they cannot control the weather (no argument there), they also cannot maintain or backfill sites so your RV stays level the whole time. The water went out ALOT during our stay. We get it, accidents/issues happen. It would be nice if they operated as a lot of other campgrounds and let the paying customers know when water would be turned off. Glad we were never one of the unfortunate stuck in the shower. The whole system needs an upgrade (per maintenance), but it's $10k on the low end, so...Glass shards CONSTANTLY at the dog park. They always showed up when staff backfilled low spots. The Ridiculous:How do you feel about electricity? Better yet, how do you feel about paying for a FHU 50 amp site and CONSTANTLY tripping your surge protector and/or inverter? (Like a 10-15 min cycle on/off). What about staff members that insist it is everyone else's equipment with the issue and not theirs? Maybe switching to 30 amp and running cords to the 20 amp will help... it won't. We were only able to run 1 AC in 90 degree heat, and it kept tripping for low voltage, then high voltage. Their solution? The only site they could offer us to move to was a site that had electrical issues that others were moved off of (or remove the EMS that was clearly protecting our rig from frying). The maintenance team is a joke. The guy that "was an ex cop", so he "knows how to not listen when people talk" will offer to "cut everyone else in the parks' power off, so you can have it all" and that pretty much sums up most of the staff's mantra for running the place. The long haired maintenance guy was a rockstar and acknowledged that the electrical is shoddy and that there are too many people on an outdated system (which is obvious, but he wasn't a jerk about acknowledging the obvious), but that there is nothing he can do to fix that, that falls on the owners putting money into the place instead of lipsticking a pig.The red haired lady in the office... what a treat. If you're looking to be berated for even the smallest question, check her out. They also do not remove anyone, despite their rules stating the opposite, for altercations/assault. Several incidents occured, kids were hit, personal property taken and inappropriate sexual comments were made regarding teenage girls. Violence was threatened to kids. The staff was informed. Police were called. The people involved were able to stay and enjoy their vacation.

Their rules are outrageous. We rented a golf cart and it was taken away from us. They didn't speak with us they just took it. They falsely accused us of going through ATV trails when we did not. They also did not refund us when they took it even though we did nothing wrong. The workers are also very rude when talking to us.Would not recommend to anyone.

This is our second time stopping here on our way home from Christmas in Louisiana. Again, this place is overrun by kids. We arrived at night and my kids start asking to go play with others running around the field. We pack up blankets and chairs for fireworks and head out to find a newly built huge playground where it was just a field before. My kids were in heaven. They always just ask to stop to see every playground on our routes. The firework show for New Years was incredible. We died laughing at our son that went to check out the snow and slipped into the mess. My only regret is we still haven t had a chance to come visit in the summer.

If you want to be charged a lot of money to be stressed during your vacation, Ragans family campground is for you!We paid $522 for 4 nights, plus $65-70/night for golf carts.Water park advertised to be open. It s not. They re blaming the hurricane that happened LAST YEAR. See picture. We ve been to many campgrounds, usually the general vibe is relaxing, staff are accommodating/welcoming and you simply have a great time. I ve literally never had a bad experience at a campground anywhere else until now. We ve been to south Florida, Georgia, Jacksonville and Gainesville. Always in the very least a worthwhile experience. Until now. There are rules upon rules. The weirdest rule is - You can t use golf carts at night. But the staff can. Why?You can t drive golf carts against the same direction as cars. But the staff are allowed. Why?16 year old licensed drivers can t drive golf carts. On the check in paper it s literally stated as 16 years old can drive but then it s crossed out and 18 years old are written down. At least change your pamphlets, surely it s not that steep of a business cost.My friend s 16 year old daughter was yelled at by the staff for her first infraction due to driving a cart on day one. She has a driving permit. How about simply explaining the rule instead of raising your voice to a teen? No warning?Oh and the bathrooms smell like feces. It s super obvious that any money that s made does not get reinvested into to the campground. When it comes to making customers happy or relaxed, this is not the case with Ragans. Apparently they are undergoing new management which is clearly not going in the right direction.Fire ants at the spicket dump station. See picture.10. I repeat TEN, lounge chairs at the pool. There are about 200 spots for campers. I didn t take a picture as people were at green/cloudy looking pool. Do the math. Ain t enough. The bench at the volley ball court is dilapidated. My 14 year son who weighs 105lbs fell off because the boards weren t nailed down securely. See picture.Overall a massive fail. We came because our friends had a good experience last year. Not sure what happened in such a short period of time, presumably due to new management but I guess these people generally don t like to make their patrons happy. If you actually want to have a good time, go to Island Oaks, Hanna Park, Suwannee Music park, or Ginnie Springs. We will NEVER come back here.

My wife and I stayed here in our pop-up with our 3 year old daughter and had a blast! Don't expect anything fancy but we had so much fun. The bathrooms were always very clean and the staff for the most part was very friendly. When we are camping we know we are kind of "roughing" it so older amenities don't necessarily bother us as long as they are clean. The water slide was a ton of fun, we couldn't keep our toddler off of it! I even went down it and had the most fun I've had in years, it was pure enjoyment! They also had a cool little general store that you could get anything from fishing supplies and things for your RV to pizza and ice cream. They also had disc golf, putt putt golf, multiple playgrounds, a pool table, arcade games, a bounce pad and mat and tons of activities for the kids. I'm sure there are certain people that this campground may not be for but my family and I had an amazing weekend here! I'm hopeful they faired well in the storm because my family and I are already planning our next trip!

If you are planning to stay in the cabins, this review is for you:First, the website has a list of items the rustic include and do not include. If you missed it like I did, do not be surprised when you get there and realize that the rustic cabins DO NOT HAVE A BATHROOM OR ANY RUNNING WATER AT ALL. I feel like that needs to be explained much better on the website. The only things in the rustic cabins (aka sheds) is a microwave, coffee maker, a small chair, a bed frame made of 2x4s and plywood, and mattresses from the 80s that have the worst holy plastic covering over them with a little dirt sprinkled on top (no flooring, no walls aside from all plywood). The door is locked on the outside by a master lock and on the inside by a lock you'd see in a bathroom that holds the bathroom stalls locked. Thankfully when we stayed here, our friends were with us so we just bunked with them in their RV. I would not have felt comfortable sleeping in a shed with mattresses that appeared to have been slept on by thousands of people. I did bring my concern about the mattresses up to the front desk the first day we were there but was informed they didn't have any new mattresses and when I said they looked like they were from the 80s she said, "yeah they probably are." I also called after we left for the weekend to ensure management knew that we did not stay in their "cabin" and let them know it was time for a remodeling of them, they just said okay, we will tell the management. As for the activities, my kids enjoyed the tie dying of t-shirts and the pool area. This pool area is quite old and dated but it served its purpose of entertainment. This whole place needs a full update. I did want to end on a good note and say that there were several employees that were around that were super friendly! The staff were great with the kids and I especially wanted to mention a super friendly staff (I never caught his name) that helped us load the firewood we purchased, came to get the trash from the campgrounds and I even saw him in the store hanging out. He definitely was the highlight of our stay!

Truly a great experience for the family! We took our 1 and 3 year old children and they loved everything about this place. The staff were kind and there was.aleays something to do. There is a schedule posted each day with activities like arts and crafts or rides on the train. It really felt like going to a theme park for a fraction of the price. Just a great experience all around.

Tried to find about availability and placed on hold for 5 minutes. Had to go inside store and get Diesel , tried again placed on hold another 5 minutes. Might be nice but not much confidence with customer service at this point.

We tent camped, and the tent sites are very close to each other, but thankfully, the next day, everyone around us had packed up and left, so we had the whole area to ourselves because the neighbors were soooo loud till 2am. But once they left, it was so peaceful, and my kids had a blast with all the activities this place has to offer. They did have to close the water park while we were there multiple time due to the weather and made the life guards clock out but told them they wasn't aloud to leave so that definitely needs to be looked at, that's not right for them people but other than that we loved it. Also, if you have ATVs, they have 88acres to ride that we didn't know about, so definitely check that out

A family with two campers, 4 adults & 3 kids. Our third visit this one being the first since the name change. Same services, we noticed the putt putt had been upgraded plus a huge playground had been added. The grand babies enjoyed every minute of being there especially the train ride getting soaked. I laughed so much. The fellow campers & staff were involved in pulling out their water hoses to wet the train riders. One recommendation my husband had was take photos or a video of the train rides. We would have definitely purchased either one. The only thing that could have made our trip better was all of our children & grandchildren ti have been there. Maybe next time because we will surely be returning. Pool & lazy river was so relaxing.

We stayed in the Pines Cabin and we had a GREAT time! Our children range in ages from 6-17 and they all had such a blast!! Even my Grandson who's 7 months old had a great time. =)We went here expecting a stay like KOA and that's exactly what it's like. Not the Hilton. Camping isn't supposed to be perfectly clean and tidy in my eyes, and that's not what we were looking for. You're in Mother nature-things get MESSY! Isn't that part of the fun in camping?!If you're looking for everyone to have fun in a peaceful environment, this place is for you!! If you're looking for a stay at the Hilton, or perfection...not so much. The WiFi worked great for us where we stayed as well! And we felt safe and comfortable.

We went with friends for a weekend. They stayed in their motor home and we stayed in a cabin. This property is beautiful! So many trees, a great play area for kids, and gaga ball is a definite hit! The activities director was amazing and so sweet to the kids! She is a priceless asset to this campground! We had an issue when checking in, in that we were told one thing upon reserving...months ago, and was told it would not be honored upon arrival. However, they did work it out and honored the reservation. There is a sign on the board in their office that basically says, if you don't like your job, you should go work somewhere else. I think they need to have a staff meeting because there are some pretty grumpy, borderline creepy, people working there. I understand it is hard to find employees these days, but the safety and well-being of the visitors should be top priority. We did not let the kids go anywhere out of eyeshot, or by themselves. On cleanliness, the pool areas need cleaning. I understand there are so many ppl, but closing one area on a day not as busy and doing a thorough cleaning, would make such a difference! Also a few umbrellas in the pool area would be great. The golf cart our friends rented was covered in mildew and spider webs, but, we appreciated having it. The price for the rental was fair, but again, a little effort would improve that issue.Overall, we had a great time and the place is beautiful!!! A good cleaning and employee management would make this place amazing!

Absolutely disappointed in the staff here. We come here every summer and our kids have made so many memories. Today we walked in and paid for 9 wristbands for the water activities. A total of $241 spent to support this business. We walked into the gate at the water area and they immediately told us they were closing due to lightning. We never even got a drop of water on us or our kids. I understand nature is unpredictable, but the staff told us we should ve checked the weather before we bought the wristbands. They didn t bother to tell us to check the weather prior to our purchase, 5 minutes earlier, when they were getting $241 of our money. Nor did they communicate with the staff at the water slides to maybe know that they shouldn t be selling tickets if the park is closed. I understand we should have had the sense to check, but for them to not even be willing to offer any kind of rain check or partial refund, not even entertaining the idea of our complaint .very very poor customer service. We will not return next year.

We went for a day adventure on the hottest day recorded. July 3, 2023. I spent the entire day on the lazy river with my grandchildren floating... it was amazing! My 13 year old son wouldn't stay off the slide.... he was so happy! Thank you for this adventure. It was more than wonderful. So stoked to make plans to come again with our Ranger, Camper, Friends and Family..... Yay!

We were there this weekend for the 2nd year. Probably won t come back. A lot of money for unlevel and sandy campsites. Bathrooms; 4 showers and only 1 trickled enough water to shower but not wash hair!!!!!! (Not good). Golf cart; once again this year, had to have someone come inflate tires. Really, again, a lot of money for problems. Your website says pool opens at 10. Did not open until 11. Change your website. Kids get disappointed and adults left to explain why difference. Weather was not an issue! Also need to add; speed limit is 5 mph, your employees need to follow that rule also!!!

Wonderful location. Who doesn't love Florida and vacation. When you advertise things however they are expected. Not being able to provide advertised things, nor being able to adequately explain how to receive them or why you can't. Also being dismissed because you and your staff are not properly prepared ... unacceptable for a business. Nothing more to say.
