Normally performance shops make me nervous, but upon walking into Higher Ground, I felt right at home. Ken and Mattea are very kind and passionate about what they do. I immediately knew my subaru STi was in good hands. They are honest mechanics who know what they are doing. I would go back in a heart beat!! I highly recommend this performance shop. Hands down the best of the best!

Never had such a great experience with a shop and the fact they are in contact with you every step of the while your car is under the knife is unspeakable. To the whole team at higher ground, y all are wonderful and keep doing what you re doing. They installed a new clutch on my WRX and also did some valve cleaning that was much needed even though the car only had 43k miles. Ken and Mattea took care of my Sophia and I can t be more appreciate of them and the whole team.If I ever need anything else done, I know where to go or I know where to refer someone. Thank you very much!!Keep up the good work.

Ken an Mattea are awesome people I wish more businesses put fourth the effort into customer service like they do. Super knowledgeable, friendly, down to earth, and fair on pricing. So happy I found this place to have my STI worked on, had 2 heat shields and a bracket deleted along with a turbo blanket installed / Motul oil change thanks again you two!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Ken & Mattea are some of the friendliest and approachable people I've come across and are amazing people. I had my BRZ's clutch replaced here, and they both kept me updated with pictures and videos going over the process. Excellent service and prices, they go above and beyond caring for your car and the quality they put into their work is incredible. I highly recommend!

I heard about Higher Ground via word of mouth at an Orlando Subaru meet up. I had just gotten my 2022 Outback Wilderness and wanted to find a shop that would be willing to put on skid plates that I was debating to purchase. I called first to ask about pricing, and Ken was overly helpful and patient with all of my questions. When I was ready, I brought my car to him. Him and his wife were very accommodating since I was going to wait for the work to be done. I actually had tons of work to do on my laptop, they set me up in their waiting room and were super helpful right out the gate. There were some customizations needed in order to fit my front skid plate on they clearly communicated the work needed and that it would cost extra. Which I hugely respected. Most shops would do the work without telling you there would be an extra costs. When the work was done they allowed me to take a look at what they had done while the car was still on the lift.Disregard the bad reviews; it s just dumb people who think they can no show, no call on a private business order.Will definitely go back for more work!

Higher Ground and Ken are absolutely the most amazing Subaru shop, hell automotive shop I ve had the experience working with. They took care of me when I had my heads to be serviced and even helped me out with some parts I didn t have and did need without any cost to me. Higher Ground is tan by incredibly generous people who care about their customers and they always go the extra mile to make sure you re taken care of! I couldn t recommend this shop enough!

Higher Ground is the best experience I've ever had at a car repair shop. Their knowledge, expertise and honesty are above and beyond anywhere I've ever been. They have saved me money several times. Most recently by telling me my dieing battery was still under warranty by Subaru. I got it replaced free. I love these guys!

Brought in my 2007 WRX while home for a week, Ken and Mattea recommended what I should replace/repair. They got it done in a very timely manner and I drove the car 800miles back home a couple days later with absolutely ZERO issues!!Every time I m back in Florida I ll be making sure to go to them for anything my Subaru needs!!Services: Auto engine tuning, Engine repair

Just picked up my 2005 Baja after having Ken and Mattea replace nearly the entire rear suspension including springs and struts. Fantastic job and great people. Hard to find a service shop that has the experience and patience for some of these older subies. They did everything I needed and a few more things and still came in less than the other shops quotes.

Ken and Mattea are awesome! I was looking for advice to increase engine longevity. Ken suggested everything and thoroughly explained it, without being rushed. They both worked on my car themselves, and kept updating me with pictures. Very impressed! Thank you both

Dealer said I needed a power steering pump replacement. HG replaced the hose and so far it's dry. Fingers crossed but they may have potentially saved me from a much larger repair.

I am beyond happy with the service received at Higher Ground. Ken and Mattea are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, and it is abundantly clear that they love Subarus and treat every customer car as their own. I ve had my WRX for five years now and the turbo needed some maintenance with some other odds and ends. Ken not only took care of the requested items, but also took the liberty of going above and beyond and fixing some other small issues he ran across when working on the car. Not only that, but I got live video explanations of everything along the way in real-time. Just an unfathomable level of service in today s day and age. HigherGround is one of the best trustworthy places you can ever taken your Subaru too! Ken has work on my WRX 19 on a few modifications/maintenance and couldn t be more happier with the turn outs! Highly recommended. They know their stuff especially Subaru related. I was referred to them after I showed up to my oil change appointment at Sport Subaru and they never ordered my Motul in. So I went to Higher Ground. Ken had me in and out, was very reasonably priced and gave me options on which Motul I preferred to put in my Hyper Blue Sti. I will definitely be returning and highly suggest you try them out. I am a Subaru Ambassador and Id give Higher Ground a 10 star rating if I could.Service: Oil change

Do you have a Subaru? Me too. Do you need service on it? You do. Oil doesn't change itself. Did the dealership give you a paper with a big number on it and smile at you while simultaneously offering you weird coffee with a TV in the background playing CNN or local news? That's not normal. Higher Ground is normal. They're real people. They know Subaru stuff. If you don't want the dealership experience with the weird coffee, give them a call. They will take good care of you and they will be normal about it. Normal is cool. Higher Ground is cool.

One of, if not the best Subaru shop in area. Always get treated with care when I go in for maintenance. The crew here is very knowledgeable on the platform. Previously my car was maintained at 6 Star motorsports in Chicago. Anyone from the Midwest that's familiar, then you know. Great shop, Quality work, and the dude looks at the car like it's his. Pointing items out that would need attention in the future. When I leave, i know my car is in tip top shape. This is some of the best service I've had for my Subaru. Owning a Subaru it's hard to find a place that'll work on it AND be affordable, and you might as well rule out good customer service. Ken and Mattea are very good mechanics and even better human beings, with no lack of integrity whatsoever. They brought my 2007 WRX back from almost dead to a car that I still to this day am proud to drive. Quality craftsmanship and very fair, honest pricing. I can t recommend Higher Ground more. This is THE garage. No where else will perform work on your beloved machines with more care and enthusiasm as here. Ken and Mattea are not only incredible professionals but genuinely wonderful people. This shop is the first where I have not only found myself with 100% confidence my vehicles are in the best care possible but I have made life-long friends with a shared passion for not just Subaru but car modification and restoration in general. If you own a Subaru and need service on it please visit Ken and Mattea instead of going to the dealership. Awesome team of passionate people. Ken and Mattea are not just mechanics but competitive drivers with a ton of passion. The team worked on my 99 Impreza and got her back to proper running order. I would not recommend higher ground to any Subaru Owner. They got mad when I went o another Subaru shop to diagnose a problem they could not fix. It s my right as a customer to find an alternative repair when they failed to diagnose my engine codes. The owner basically told me once I went to another shop they would not service my car again as if my car belonged to them. I spent on thousand of dollars trying to diagnose a code that was simply a broken connector, higher ground told me it was everything but the connecter. And when I told them I took the vehicle elsewhere they got mad and told me they would never work on my car again they are good for basic stuff like brakes and things that don t require and diagnostic . They also fail to give you a proper written estimate before you authorize repairs. They simply bill you at the end whatever they d like.Service: Engine repair

As we all know it s very hard and scary to trust automotive shops. Glad to say I ve found that one shop that s super loyal and honest from the get go. Explained everything to me in details and made me feel very comfortable leaving my vehicle with them for service. TERRIBLE!!! Terrible that it took me so long to take my car to Higher Ground. Why didn't I do this sooner!!Made an appt and Ken quickly diagnosed the problem 'clicking and clanking', this after 'another' mechanic had claimed to fix it and another shop told me everything looked fine!Estimates were fair and the car was worked on in short order. Ken and Mattea were both great and communicated well throughout the process.I shall be back!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Bought a 2008 WRX. Brought it to Higher Ground to have them check it out, and let me know what it needed. Ken is awesome. Walked me through everything he checked, and explained in detail every item that he found. Including the stuff I said I could do at home. He still took the time to make sure no detail was left unchecked. Ken also went out of his way to schedule a time that I could make, since I work usual business hours. Could not be more impressed with this place.
