Needed new front CV Axles for my 09 Toyota Tacoma and they got it done and were quick with a estimate unlike and Highstandards 4x4. Shout out to Shifters Transmission LLC on S. Florida Ave Lakeland Fl. Check engine light came on as we were evacuating for hurricane. Had the codes checked at auto parts store. Asked who might be able to repair and was told Shifters. Chugged up the road to shop and Zack checked codes to verify and quoted price. He said he could start that afternoon (Tuesday) and would finish Wednesday if shop was open, depending on storm. Otherwise would finish Thursday. Well just about three or four hours later I receive call that car is fixed! Got a ride and picked up my wheels! Thank you Shifters Transmission and Zack!!

Zach and his team are truly professionals, very honest and great prices. I dropped my truck off to have a new exhaust installed at 8 am and they were done in a couple hours. Previous bad review was apparently deleted.2 years ago.I brought my 1992, 1 owner Ford Bronco in to have a simple Clutch replacement done. The job they left me with was beyond unsafe. They all but left me with a drive train that was about to come apart. After nearly a month, they called to tell me the vehicle was ready. I went to test drive the vehicle and, as I sat in the driver's seat, I saw my Hood release laying in the floor, broken off and my shift boot was torn and ripped apart. My test drive was very short. I managed to make it around the block and back but the manual transmission shifted worse than when I'd brought it to them. As I walked into the shop to complain, I saw oil POURING out from underneath. The owner promised to repair the damages and fix the problems. 2 weeks later, he calls and says it's ready. Still won't shift properly. After 2 more week, now 3 months, I pick up the vehicle. there was a lot of back and forth over the actual amount owed for services,but I get the vehicle back. I get it home and discover that NONE of the bolts holding the top of the shift cover on the transmission are tight. 3 are missing entirely. I take the vehicle to a shop that was recommended by many of the other mechanics in the area and discover the the front drive shaft was missing all the bearings in the universal join and the flange wasn't connected properly either.I don't know how this shop manages to stay in business after hearing from others due to my previous review. I am also curious how or why Google removed the previous review.

I can not express how happy I am with the service that I received from the people at Shifters. They are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. With fair prices and timely service. I highly recommend them for you auto servicing and repairs.

I had been having transmission issues for months and wasn't getting much help from the Ford dealership so I took a chance and booked an appointment with Shifters & they did not disappoint!! They kept me informed throughout the whole process and did everything they could save me as much money as possible. The entire staff was extremely kind and I can't thank them enough!! Had a transmission issue and took my car to Shifters. I spoke to a wonderful women named Donna. She was friendly and professional. She introduced me to the mechanic that would be working on my car. I was told what the problem was and how long it would take to fix it. They were true to their work and I picked my car up yesterday. I would highly recommend this business if you have any type of car trouble.Service: Transmission

The people that run and work at shifters are one of a kind amazing people and very professional. They don't just do transmission work. They do brakes, oil changes, tires, and a ton of other stuff. Next time you need maintenance on your ride stop in with them. I promise you won't be sorry.

Shifters Transmission, had to replace my intake manifold. I had very great service there, very knowledgeable and a wonderful staff that keep me informed on my vehicle. The customer service at Shifters is phenomenal. I felt like I finally found a place that cared. They were quick to assess the vehicle, find the problem, quote me a reasonable price and fix the issue. Wanted to follow up about the repair shop I took my car to get my transmission fixed. Shifters on Florida did an awesome job, they got it done in 1 day for a great price with a 1 year warranty. Drop by and see them about your repair, there are very nice and professional.

Horrible shop, Toni the "mechanic" shows up when he feels like it, he's rude as can be. My truck was dropped there for transmission issues that to this day is still not working right. I broke down in the mountains of TN on vacation with my family due to these incapable people. They take your money and then stop answering you. The owner is never there as im sure he knows better, he has been sued so many times. DO NOT GO THERE for anything, trust me. When i called another shop to check my transmission since after this place had my truck for weeks, they knew before i even told them who did the work, they asked me if Shifter worked on it because they were used to fix all of their mistakes.

I dropped off my car and from the moment I left I had no communication for a week. They never gave me a quote. They never gave me information. I called the day I was told it was ready and the oil change I asked to be done wasn't even done. When I got there, their credit machine was down. I waited an hour with my card in their building and finally needed to just get back to work. The lady up front was very sweet and said I could call with the info but wanted to just tell her techs what was happening. The tech approached me and said I could not leave until I paid and drove a car behind my car. I told him that was sus and he said they were just "moving cars". I offered to zelle pay or bank to bank transfer and he made all sorts of excuses. He said he'd call the owner to get the info but never actually did. He magically had to move the car that was behind mine back as soon as their machine was back up. Overall an awful, unprofessional experience from the moment I got the minus the front desk woman who is a sweet lady. I would give 0 stars if I could.Service: Brakes

Took my Silverado in for a transmission rebuild.Tony was very friendly, professional and had my truck in and out in 1 1/2 days. Great price, great staff, super clean. i would recommend them for all your automotive repairs.

They are very unprofessional and not true to their word. They said they rebuilt my transmission when in fact put a valve body in it AND CHARGED ME $3400.00. SIX months later transmission went out again took it back for warranty work and they had my car for 2 1/2 months before putting a rebuilt transmission in it. Still cannot drive it cuz it won't move. This business is a big waste of time and moneyService: Transmission

My daughter brought her car in to Shifters for transmission repair. While there they test drove it and ran a red light on Beacon and S Fl Av. My daughter got a ticket. We brought them the ticket They did not pay it and my daughters license was suspended. They owe her over $400. The car was never repaired correctly and we gave them another chance to correct it. Still not fixed. We had to take it someplace else and replaced the transmission.Service: Transmission

This place had my swamp buggy for a week and never called. Once I finally got ahold of them, they only told me that they had to pull the transmission out to diagnose the issue. The transmission shop I took it to after them diagnosed and fixed the issue within a day without removing it. I have no time or patience for a mechanic shop that tries to upcharge and take advantage of people by attempting to charge for unnecessary services. Is there a way to give no stars?

I was going bring my Tundra in for a differential carrier swap. After reading the reviews I believe I'll be bringing it to Clearwater. It's a shame one has to go out of Lakeland to find professional and reputable auto repair companies.Having/sharing reviews helps keep many of us out of their grasp.

Last week I made an appointment for today the 20th to get my transmission serviced on my 1957 Chevy It's running a GM 700R Transmssion which is very common in GM cars! About 8AM this morning I received a call from Shifters stating that the 10 AM appointment needed to be changed to 1:30PM, I called back saying this was OK! Got to Shifters about 1:15 PM and the person there wasent really to sure what I was talking about nor wasent to sure about the appointment! So I actually pointed out my appointment on the calender that was right in front of his face! Then the B.S. started "Well the rack that your car was to be on, a truck is on it! And it's going to be awhile but not today but I can call you to get you in at a later date! Well needless to say! I stated "that won't happen" and drove off! And not knowing to Shifters I had a few more cars to bring in! Sorry Shifters! Your loss! Larry Kalick

I brought my truck to them to replace the transmission. I bought a transmission that had less than 110k miles on it got the paper work where it was tested before taking it to them they put it in wrong and blew the pump in the transmission. I had to pay 500 dollars to get my truck out of there and put it on a tow truck mind you I drove my truck to them before they touched it. Wouldn t recommend them to my dog.Service: Transmission

Poor service kept my vehicle 4 days without telling me exactly what wrong with it gave me the run-around then on the 4th day tried charging me $1200 on a part that only cost $350-$560 on every auto parts store I called and that wasn't counting the labor cost of $1000+ ummm no thank you you tried it!!!!

Same problem accursed I paid 700+$ the patr including Trans oil was 200$ and labor and fees were the other 500 they had me drop off my car again and the refuse to answer my calls I told them I needed my car because I had already prolonged my chemo treatments the first time and now that I've started chemo I have no transportation.all you keep hearing is the owne says this place is sketch y.i will post everywhere all over social media how shifters and its owner took advantage of a cancer patientService: Transmission

I wouldn t recommend that anyone take their car there for any type of service I got a transmission job done on my truck and I wasn t done right and it was under warranty which anyone know a transmission job is not cheap at all they cheated me out of my money and they didn t honor my warranty on the job that they did and my transmission is still not right and I don t appreciate the way they handle me or business so no I definitely wouldn t recommend anyone to take their car to get fixed their definitely not a transmission job Service: Transmission
