Took my car in to get looked at because I suspected a seized caliper was causing my car to veer to right upon braking, overheating my engine, and creating a smell from my tire. My rotor looked a bit chewed up per the photo. They inspected told me nothing was wrong and didn t charge me. A day later I noticed the center cap was missing, so I called. They were dismissive and denied having anything to do with it, said it was brought in that way. I have a photo of it the day before at 8 pm with the center cap.I appreciate their service, but I don t appreciate their dishonesty.Service: Brakes

We needed a specific socket to remove a hitch (don t ask) so we could swap it out and accidentally left the correct socket at home. After failing to be able to buy the right size socket at auto zone AND tractor supply our timing started to get tight and frustrating. The guys at RPM who were getting ready to close lent us the tool without charging and saved us from ourselves

The guys were really nice and friendly but I never did get my oil changed bc they didn't have an oil tech there after making an appointment online. In person I made another appointment for the next day after waiting an 1 1/2 they still hadn't taken my car back yet and said probably be a couple more hours people were ahead of me.

This is a subsidiary of Pep Boys. They do a pretty good job fixing my car, most of the time.

We have been loyal RPM customers for years, having 3 cars being serviced. Chuck and Tyler always made us feel important. Tyler left to continue school and Chuck moved to the garage area. Dan became our new point of contact. Immediately we became unhappy with how we were treated. He is very short and rude with his customers.I recently had an issue with my car and I got that same treatment from Dan. I decided to take it to another mechanic. I actually went to 2 because I was getting different info from Dan than I got from the other mechanic(s). Dan wanted to keep my car for a minimum of a day and could not give me an estimate on the charge (but stated the labor would be a couple hundred dollars). Long story short, I felt heard at the other auto-shop and they only had my car for 2 hours and charged me $30 to take care of the issue. Needless to say this mechanic got 3 new customers as we will not be returning to RPM with any of our cars.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

Where do I start.Please Please PleaseDo price matching in your zip code.Because I have done the research and know the market for parts and labor services per hour I was able to avoid unprofessional fraudulent prices.$700 for front brake pads and 1hour service..Service for 1hr is between $180-$200In Florida next parts are 80-100Cheaper if you can find them as a package deal even with rotorsIn total you would pay around 300 or lessIn 2023.Come in and they touch your car for a free inspection and price you $700 amount after inspecting it, leaving even worse then you came in you will know why.Business license at this location is at risk.

If you're traveling in Florida you better hope and pray you do not break down near RMS automotive in Jax. Single worst experience I've ever had. I'd go as far to say it had ruined me on ever being towed to any place affiliated with Pep Boys ever again.We broke down 3 states from home with a simple toyota alternator failure. Knowing this, they said they couldn't get to it until after the weekend upon arrival at 8:30 am on a friday.After 4 days of unexpected expenses from the stay, they said it'd be $900+. When told that we didnt have that now we were told "well, You don't actually need a belt" and we can give you $50 off.We had to figure out something else and a friend drove 5 hours to do it himself so we could possibly get back home from Christmas. Upon saying we didn't have the money (no work having been done) the guy managing the office was extremely rude. Saying "the answer is you don't owe me anything, buddy." as we walked out the door. Really not something someone who has dealt with so much in so short of a period close to Christmas needed and was completely unconstructive and uncalled in regards to both parties. We had been nothing but polite despite every attempt to take us for over $900 for a part that takes 20 mins to replace and $180 for the part in addition to be told to wait all weekend when the worker divulge they could've had us on the road friday had they only taken a minute to actually listen to what we needed.Pep Boys may be convenient but it'd have been worth the inconvenience to have my insurance tow to the next place down the road and to not be subjected to all the shystering and rudeness.

I showed up for my appointment only to learn that RPM canceled it via text msg sent to a landline that is not capable of receiving text messages. No one bothered to actually pick up the phone and call to confirm I was aware of the cancellation. Extremely unprofessional.

I wouldn t let any other mechanic work on our cars. They are the most hard working, honest mechanics you will find. They will make recommendations without scare tactics and will be honest about what repairs are necessary. They have never tried to oversell us on repairs. For our most recent repair, they recommended getting the car replaced rather than investing in the repair given the age and mileage on our car. We can t thank them enough for their honesty and candor. Jeff and Chuck have always been honest and trustworthy!! You won t go wrong with RPM San Marco. Our family has trusted them for years and we will continue to do so!!

I was driving around on a jumped battery, trying to find somewhere to take me in & replace the battery on short notice & the guys at RPM were eager to help. I didn t know the type of battery I needed, but the guy up front helped me over the phone & told me to come in (5 minute notice, they were busy too)Brought the car in, they took a look & discovered they didn t have the specific battery I needed. Their first response was to call around to other shops & contacts to see if I could be taken care of that afternoon. I had somewhere to be that afternoon, or else I could ve waited at that location for an order to be filled. They even went as far as to let me know what prices I should expect to see based off the work I needed done.10/10 experience & they didn t even work on my car. I will be back & will be referring this locations to others as well.Service: Battery

Very honest company. They took the time to find the root cause of my issue which was above and beyond what the dealership was going to do and at a fraction of the price. Pat was very friendly and knowledgeable as well at the front desk. No complaints. Would definitely do business with them again.

I went in to get an oil changed. The price was more than I m used too. But then the man at the counter explained to me what kind of oil my car takes and why it was the price it was. And I was so RELIEVED. If he didn t take the time to educate me on my car I probably would have continued to put the wrong oil in it till someone told me different. Shout out to the desk guy for being patient with me cause I don t know anything about cars.Great experience, very personal &honest, as well as helpful!Services: Tires, Oil change

I am very disappointed with the recent service I received from RPM on Emerson. I will not use their services again and I will not recommend them. I had an issue that they said needed extensive labor. They did not even know if doing all of the labor would have fixed the issue. I told them no thank you and took the car to another mechanic. He saw the problem immediately (without all of the recommended labor from RPM) and fixed it without charging me. They recommended service and work that was ridiculously expensive and unnecessary. For the most part, the front desk staff is consistently warm and friendly. However, after this experience, I have lost all confidence in the belief that this business has treating customers fairly and honestly as their top priority.

This guy was awesome ...On my way to work this morning i ran over some construction debris which lodge a huge bolt and piece of rubber attached to it on my rear tire. I went home and pulled off the tire and thought I would just drop it off and have it repaired during the day while I took my wife's truck to work. I arrived at 7:45 AM and showed it to the guy behind the front desk. He grabbed it and said "I'll be right back" and went into the shop area. I totally expected to be there for a while and started reading the newspaper. Within 5 minutes, he was standing outside with my tire repaired and he put it in the back of the truck. When I asked him how much he said he just put a plug in and filled it with air again, "NO CHARGE". I went home and put my tire on and was still able to be at work at 9 AM. I wish I had got the guys names, because he turned what was a totally negative day up to that point in to a positive experience, and my wife still got to have her car for the day. I will definitely pay it forward, and needless to say RPM Automotive has just earned my business the next time I have car trouble. Thanks again, and I apologize for not getting your name, but you should be able to recognize this guy for a positive customer experience based on the date and time outlined in my review. Well done sir!!

Made an appointment online and turns out they re short staffed so they can t make any services no call to let me know anything, waste of gas and time this appointment was urgent and I m just disappointed in their service

I love coming here! The staff are candid and truthful with what's going on and are liking to give recommendations based on the safety and wellbeing of the car but also me and my wallet. They are always welcoming and patient when I ask questions. I even got a warm brownie while I was there earlier today! I'm sad to be moving away from Jacksonville because I will have to find another mechanic that is comparable

If you want honest quality work and service. Please take your car here. I was told by a 3rd party that I needed work, after calling around, RPM was the most cost efficient place to get this work. However they called to tell me, the work I was told I needed was incorrect and all I needed was a balancing of my tires. Which was 300 cheaper than my assumed work. I was ecstatic and appreciative. Most places would've just fixed the higher cost issue and found more things wrong. If I need work again, I pray not soon though lol, RPM will definitely be my first stop!! My husband and I have been using RPM for over a year now for all of our auto maintenance and repair. They have been able to accommodate us day of when we ve been in a pinch to get something repaired. Great team and great service!

Every year I bring my Porsche in for an oil change. Somehow, since the car is low to the ground, some power steering & brake vacuum assist lines got caught on the lift,all had to be replaced! Needless to say, not an easy, or cheap procedure on a car like mine. RPM stood tall!!! All was repaired.......with a smile to boot! Nick, Chuck & the gang have absolutely restored my faith in humanity!!!

If you need your wheel bearing replaced or wheel hub assembly then this is the place to go especially if your on a tight schedule and need it done ASAP everyone else I called and asked was charging well over $325+ with pep boys asking for $400. Rpm did a excellent job in the time I needed for only $293 only reason I give 4 stars is because aamco charges $265 but would ve taken over 24 hours to do so rpm is well worth the extra $30 on top of that if you need 2 replacements it s only $400 that s a super deal only and always going to rpm

As a female, I used to detest going to an auto shop. Seems that far too many of them are patronizing and won't take you seriously. RPM is the exact opposite of that: straightforward, clean, honest, and professional.I discovered RPM years ago at the recommendation of a neighbor (full disclosure -- he worked for this company at the time). Now, this is the ONLY mechanic we will use. Chuck and his team are like family now, and they don't ever try to up-sell things you don't need or rip you off.Oh yeah... I also LOVE that they support their community schools, including Hendricks Avenue Elementary!

I went in to have a high performance clutch installed and have them weld a piece of my exhaust. Upon picking up my car, my throw out bearing instanlty went out and they never welded the piece I needed done. The manager explained to me that he would not warranty a part they did not order. I explained to him the part was brand new and their mechanic's obviously f****d up. He told me to bring it back and they would weld the piece together and fix the throw out bearing (I assumed for a discounted price since I felt their service was not satisfactory, considering my car was exactly in the same position as when I brought it in $600 earlier). A short time later, he called to tell me the bill was going to be $890. He explained that was for the labor. After raising hell, I ended up spening almost $1500 for them to correctly install a clutch (plus the money for the part) and have them weld something they didnt do in the first place. I was also recommended to RPM due to them having a GT Mustang "expert". They are a RIP off and I would not recommend them to anyone!
