Every time I bring my car in to C&L they really take care of all my car needs. I just brought in to get an oil change and a panel looked at and also my check engine light popped on. There Team did a great job. Happy car happy customer. This is the place to stop in if you need just an oil change or some work done to your vehicles. Lisa & Chuck always friendly and take care of you and your vehicles. Nice sitting area we you can just relax,read or use your phone,laptop or tablet until car,truck or bike is ready. Also if you need to rent a truck they also have Penske Truck Rentals right here at C&L

Brought my husband s truck because his power steering went out. Lisa and Chuck were wonderful to work with!! They go out of their way to find the part you need and are great are getting your vehicle repaired and back to you as quickly as they can. Exceptional service and work performed!!!

Came in just for a Fog-Lights InstallationCame out with the Front-Bumper scratched and the Fog-Lights scratchedHe stated he did not scratch it, but the scratches were on the same side and less than 1 inch from each other.Don't recommend this place, now I have to go to a body-shop so they can fix what this place messed up. Waste of money!

I brought my 1996 ford econoline here on a friends recommendation. I asked them to go through the vehicle with a fine tooth comb, 360 inspection because I had just bought the vehicle and wanted to make sure everything was perfect with it. I saw visible leaks (another reason for the inspection), when I went to pick the vehicle up, the owner said, it s mechanically perfect, no leaks . The van stalled out on me going in reverse a week later. I called them and complained. They said, they would check it out for free again as if THEY were doing me a favor. They charged $700 for fixing a tensioner and resealing the pumpkin, which I thought was really high (especially after already having brought the vehicle there another time).I took a trip to Virginia right after the vehicle was inspected and fixed . The blower motor fried, the van also stalled again.Lastly, it has not even been six months since repairing the tensioner and the serpentine belt just snapped today. I don t even drive this thing that often.0/10 would not recommend this shop as it is clear to me they will charge great prices for subpar work.Service: Auto maintenance

Chuck and Linda are a breath of fresh air as I'm 63 yrs old and most businesses are not so much that way they are friendly and very knowledgeable in a lot of auto needs .Chuck installed a Demco brake device on my 2022 Chevy Spark which required a lot of knowledge and skill to install this on your vehicle. He and his son worked on my car they did a very professional job and I was very impressed with there workmanship.They are reasonable priced and the work was done in a timely manner and finished as promised I would highly recommend C&L Automotive to anyone who has any automotive needs as they are the one who can solve your automotive needs. This is the worst business ever I work next door so I took my truck over to get struts put on had my own parts was quoted a price of 250.00 for labor upon removal of the struts there was damage to the part that holds the struts they gave me a call and explained it to me and said it would be an additional 230.00 and that it wouldn t be finished until the following day. I agreed 230.00 +250.00 . I went over to remove some items from the truck and noticed coolant on the floor the mechanic and I discussed a pressure test and I told him I would fix it myself because it was only a hose. The next day they called me to tell me my truck was done. I went to pick it up and pay and was charged 800.00 and was told oh since your paying cash it ll be 700.00 they also included a axle replacement in the 230.00 and 250.00 a axel that I had just replaced 4 months prior. I got ripped off and when I complained the guy at the desk asked me did I want them to put the old hose back on and charge me for the pressure test instead. I told him no because I felt the tension and didn t want them to do anything to my truck. He told me there hourly rate was 130.00 an hour. The hose is a quick connect no way it took 2 hours to do. I rented a Penske truck in Oregon and C&L Auto was my assigned drop off location in Jacksonville, FL. After a difficult trip, Charles was incredibly helpful and professional. He assisted with getting my car off the carrier and then unhitching the trailer from the truck. Thank you Penske for having individuals like Charles that provide exceptional customer service!

I returned a Penske truck here.I received a truck that was completely scratched, with a brake light that doesn t turn on, missing furniture pads. They told me I wouldn t be hassled when I dropped it off.I got charged $85.00 by this place because the fuel was slightly below the F for full.They didn t call me, just charged it and said they charge $10 per gallon. There was no way they needed 8+ gallons on this tank.They don t really do business in an upstanding way, I wouldn t take my car here and expect them to do thousands of dollars of work without overcharging for something based on my experience.

This review is worth the read....Went in for a suspected leaking water pump, and Chuck was the most professional and kind hearted individual. He turned an awful day better with how he accommodated working on my car, and fitting me in immediately in the middle of the day on a Friday. I had to go back to work, but they made sure my car was done in less than 3 hours, and called me before charging me anything to go over everything that was going on with my car. Being a newbie to Jacksonville, i will tell all of my friends and family about C&L and Chuck, and will be bringing my car here with any issues.

I had an amazing experience here. Bobbie is an amazing and honest mechanic. He knows his stuff and won't try to cheat you like a lot of mechanics have done to me in the past living in Florida. I know not all mechanics are like this. However, being a female I have learned can be a con if you don't know about cars. I travel all the way from Daytona Beach just to see him, and it's totally worth it.

We rented a Penske Moving Truck from them and it was a very pleasant experience. I was having a hard time even finding a moving truck and they called back and stated they had one! The fact that they called back was awesome in itself but then the quality of the customer service was out of this world! They were beyond helpful, was a great deal and they were just pleasant to speak to, Thank you Ms. Tracy! The facility was sparkling clean, kind people with excellent manners! I will use C and L for anything that comes along with needing to rent a truck or anything that happens to my vehicle and would / have already recommended them to others! Wow! Most impressed! I was looking to have my 2015 Infinity QX-60 OEM headlights updated to LED and searched around online. I found C & L Automotive who claimed to do this type work, but so did a lot of other places. I called and was most impressed with Chris who was very knowledgeable and said he'd like to inspect my vehicle to verify that the upgrade was doable. After verifying that it was and giving me an estimate we set up an appointment to do the install.C & L's location is very clean and the staff extremely professional.In less than 90 minutes and at what I consider a reasonable cost, I now have a fully LED equipped SUV with much brighter and safer!C & L does all types of automotive repair and upgrades and I plan to make them my regular go to automotive service provider as my car ages.Most impressed with C & L and in particular their Service Manager, Chris!

Chuck and his crew have been amazing every time I ve dealt with them. Very fair pricing, his staff goes out of their way to help their customers, they treat everybody like family. Decent work, friendly and honest staff that will try to help you whatever way they can. But high priced service. First time in my life I ever paid over $50 for a conventional oil change, among other things that were quoted fairly higher than other shops.

I rented a Penske truck from C & L for a weekend in November and couldn't be more satisfied with this business. From the first phone call, Ms. Tracy was more than helpful with the rental process. She was engaged in every step of the process and ensured a smooth transaction. I thought C & L was very courteous and Knowledgeable. I had them do some performance upgrades to my diesel truck. Great job! I'm impressed with the recommendations that were made for upgrades and when there was a warranty issue with a bad part that was installed, they handled it quickly and kept my work truck rolling. I could not be more happy with their service ! We brought in a 1999 Jeep with a couple of problems, and they went above and beyond to help us out. Extremely nice and honest guys... which is usually very had to come by, especially in the auto mechanic industry. I highly highly recommend this place, they will not let you down ! Also, if you stop by during the weekends you may be lucky enough to run into their shop dog sam !! literally left the shop wanting to hug the owner ! you will not be disappointed

I first found C&L Automotive when they had a groupon for an oil change. I haven't taken my car anywhere since!!Fair, fast, reliable service from friendly, knowledgeable staff. I love watching this business grow into the place it is today. I highly recommend C&L to anyone needing their vehicle serviced!

Family run business #supportlocal! Their family has had a shop in St.Louis for decades. The Jacksonville shop is always busy and can fix anything from imports, classics up to trucks and motorhomes.

The best shop I have ever been into. Been coming here for basic maintenance all the way up to major repairs. Chris, the manager, is excellent and very up front and honest about everything. He runs a tight shop and the techs are knowledgeable. I would recommend this shop to ANYBODY, and you don't need to worry about him trying to upsell something you don't need. He's in the business to help people, not to hurt them and take advantage.

Would give zero stars if possible. Took my Car in for an engine light check and an oil change. This was around noon. I went to work, assuming it could be picked up the same day. Received no call. The next morning, I called to check the status. They hadn t even looked at it yet. Finally, I receive a call around 1:30.They told me it was throwing a lot of codes, but mechanically everything was fine. However, they also told me that my brake pedal was vibrating during the test drive indicating need for new brakes. They said my car needed all 4 brakes are rotors replaced and quoted me over eight hundred dollars! They also said my vacuum pump needed replacing for another seven hundred dollars. They charged me eighty dollars for an oil change, which is double I normally pay elsewhere. I declined getting anything done beside my oil.When went to pick it up, my battery was dead. This may be coincidence, but you usually expect to pick your car up in better condintion than how you left it with a mechanic. I have to leave town the next morning, and am stuck looking for a new one first thing.This is sad because they ve helped me out of a few binds in years past. I used to recommend this place to friends and family. Now that they tried to rob me, I ll have to warn them to stay away.

Do NOT go to this shop just RUN as fast as you can RUN. They aren't honest with their service. They will hold your vehicle for a very period. They can't do the work first time correct. Nothing but a hassle from this place. Do your self a favor and go someone else. Save yourself time and money and work that is Not done right...

Corey & Chris at C & L Automotive impressed us with their honest service.I brought my F450 Diesel flatbed dually in for service with injector issues.Corey took the time to listen and get me quotes for future projects that need to be fixed on the truck. After leaving the truck with them, they diagnosed the problem and made a quality long term suggestion which was affordable but out of my price range.When I ask for a quote with a basic solution for the least amount their quote was reasonable.They fix the bad injector quickly and the truck is now driving like a CHAMP! Thanks again!

We used C&L Automotive to look over, drive and assess a used car we planned to purchase. We were VERY much impressed meeting Chuck Hood and he spent quite a bit of time looking over the car in question, driving it, going through tthe diagnostics, etc.We would go back to him without hesitation in the future for his expert opinion and great customer service!

I give one star because number 1 they did not even realize that my front and back tires were different sizes and switch them out. They couldn't even tell that I had gotten new rotors literally 2 days before I took it in and wanted me to replace them. They lost by center peice and my valve stem cap from my tire which were both custom. They really try to overcharge me when they said I needed tons of stuff for a $1000 but when removed a whole lot of stuff it was only $200 cheaper when I made a point to them of it being only $200 cheaper when they were doing Less than half of the work proposal. Lastly their alignment was $30 more than big chief tire which was literally half a mile down the road. Also they did t even fix the problem that I have as it's back 3 days later. Do not go here. Only positive thing was the guy I front was nice.
