Have not even got car back yet, Call speak with Keith on 3/11 was told if i drop it off in the morning, would receive a call by lunch that day. Leave it overnight on 3/11 with keys in drop box., Next day 3/12 come 5:30 haven t heard anything so I call and told next day he would call me back already gone home for the day. 3/13 3pm no call back again, so of course i call again. He tells what he thinks it might be, he would text a quote out the next day, gave me a quote by phone with the knowledge might not be accurate based on parts and what they find once they tale transmission apart. Tells me it would ready mid week the following week before it s ready, i say so Wednesday-Friday next week it will be ready (3/20-3/22), agrees yes. As long as once they get in to the transmission they find nothing else.3/14, 3/15 no quote sent over nothing. Call spoke to other people who try to get me answer and tell me he will call me back next day. Here it is 3/21 and not 1 call no written quote no nothing.Well last evening 3/20 my spouse goes there to get some answers , since WE HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD IN A WEEK OR EVEN GOT A QUOTE IN WRITING. He was told they haven t even got a chance to look at it. When i was told a week ago would be ready by now.I understand if someone can t call you back the same day, but at least return the call the following day at the very least.Now its 3\21 nothing not 1 call again end of day. Call speak with Keith Jr im ve try and polite and explained my situation why havent you or anyone else returned a phone or communicated that you we re running by behind. That last week when i had to contact you for details you told me if would be inspected and as long as the issue what you think will be ready mid-week. Mid week has come and gone no one has said a word!!He apologized promised he would communicate the car was next on the lift if all goes well and its the clutch then it would be ready today 3/22. Either way you the inspection would be completed by lunch that you would call me by lunch if not a lot earlier!! 5:33 Pm call Keith Jr is off no one called all day, inspection still not completed still no answers!!! To make matters worse they have had it since 3/12 ive not received 1 call from them, not even to be told they are running behind and havent

Please read. I took my truck in for transmission service. I picked it up to find a huge scratch down the side of the bumper. I met with the owner Keith JR then went on to tell me he had one of his " trusted guys" drive my truck home!After months of Keith JR told me he would fix it. He now has ignored everyone of my calls. I have been trying to have my tuck fixed for 7 months now. DO NOT GO HERE

Had my truck serviced here for transmission fluid and filter change back in 2020. Fast forward to July 2023, took my truck to get serviced for transmission fluid and filter changed, and my truck had the same transmission fluid which was completely black and factory transmission filter still on it just eroding away They never serviced my truck and still charged me

It s only a two instead of a one because the managers and owner are good people. But some of the techs have lied and manipulated on diagnostic s for there benefit. Lying, stealing, and misdiagnosis is likely. It s best to go to a different shop. Even for transmission issues. They butchered my wife s jeep and didn t tell the service writer all the information.

I had my transmission rebuilt here as well as many other repairs. Although there have been a few bumps in the road causing me have to return a few times they 100% stand behind there work and honor their warranty. Plus Scott the manager is a great person who makes sure you get taken care of. I highly recommend them and will continue to use them in the future.

We were devastated to find out our daughters car needed a new transmission. We did a lot of shopping around and we re referred to the Atlantic blvd location by several people. Scott was very honest with us from the beginning, informed us that it could take up to 2 weeks, but we were pleasantly surprised when he called 1 week later to let us know the car was ready. Scott and his crew were amazing and we feel like we have a brand new car, it runs perfectly, thank you American transmission for a job well done!

I took a 2014 Ram 1500, replace a fuel line sensor pressure and couple other things. Charged $1000! How ever, they cut the hose of fuel line, no clamp to hold and left with no sensor. Truck could of caught on fire if we didn t take it to another mechanic. Another important piece was left hanging. Now we have to replace whole fuel line and pvc.

If I could give 10 stars I would. These guys are honest fair and professional. Special recognition to Scott who handled all of my concerns with the pleasant attitude. I brought my Ram truck to them after getting a quote from the dealership for internal transmission and their quote was much lower than the dealership s. My Ram is one of three vehicles that I have brought to this location to have work done and each time it s been a great experience. I would recommend them to anybody and everybody who needed any type of mechanical work done on their vehicle. Thanks again guys!!

I have been a customer for a few years and overall have been satisfied. I always thought the work was good and the price fair.There has been a recent turnover of the manager position.Last visit i did have to wait in the waiting room until almost five pm until my vehicle was ready when initially they told me one pm.Part of the service was replacing my BMW thermostat. It leaked and I had to take it back. The manager at the time told me that he would give me money off the next service. About 2 weeks later the car was running terribly so I returned and there was a new manager that had no idea about a discount.Heading east in Beach you have to travel under the bridge to get to the business.

Friend told me to come here for the repair on my 4l60. For one, I'll say very nice people. Two, seemed a lot more knowledgeable than any of the other shops I've been to. Three, were very happy to honor the warranty after a very slight mishap. (Which normal shops try to put it off) I'm very pleased with this American transmission and they have my business for sure

This place really tries to get you. Guy wanted to charge me 5,000 to get me what he called a cheap rebuilt motor. I paid 1300 for a brand new motor and replaced it myself. Guy also tried to tell me the VA can give me a loan to pay the bill when I tried to be nice and told him I didn't have the money because I knew he was trying to overcharge me. Don't get me wrong the guy was nice yea, but I'm not stupid when it comes to paying for repairs.

Sent the car in with a delay in the transmission and was told I d get it back in 5-7 days. Just got the car back after 2 1/2 weeks of sub-par customer service, and the car now has a crooked steering wheel, the key doesn t come out (neither were issues until they touched it) and there is STILL a delay in a brand new $2,400 transmission. Plus the car smells like cigarettes. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I was told by Terry at Allstar Automotive to not use them because he has had over 5 bad experiences before he stopped using them but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Boy was that a bad decision.Service: Transmission

The beach location tried to fix my MAP, TBS and code problem 3 times. Their efforts caused me stay in hotels, rent a car for a week and wasted 40 hours of my time $900.00.Long story short, Pat intervened and solved the problem.The senior person checked the volts and fixed the problem in 10 minutes (two loose wires sending codes).The lesson is this if you have a problem with the work, go to Pat and work it out. Do no waste time guessing on how to fix the problem.The beach store should have called for help or run a volt test The jeep runs well and the transmission works as promised Very impressed with Pats professionalism and would return in the future (Atlantic location).Service: Transmission

Will give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was probably not in a malicious way.My transmission was leaking fluid (about 1qt every 300 miles), but drove normal when filled, so I took it to American Transmission and agreed to the standard charge of $95 for them to check it out and hopefully locate it. Transmission was slipping/hard shifting due to low fluid when I brought it to the shop. I was told that they topped it off with fluid, took it for a test drive and the car presented the same problems. They suggested that the transmission would have to be pulled from the vehicle ($700) to be further inspected, that's when I declined the service. When I asked about the leak I was told that there's no way of knowing where it is coming from, and simply fixing the leak won't solve my problems. Picked up my car the same afternoon after paying the $95, added 2 qts of fluid and car drove normal.Took the car to a different shop the next morning, and 15 minutes after dropping it off, received a call saying that the leak was identified and asking me permission to go ahead and fix it. Picked the car up that same day. $250 for the fix + a fluid flush.Long story short: I think they did not add fluid to it, tried to drive it and the car was on super limp mode (which it was), and at that point assumed the worst (which by all means would require the transmission to be pulled). I would expect that from a free inspection, but when I am paying $95 for someone to check it out I expect a mechanic to at least spend some time actually trying to diagnose it.

I found these guys a couple of years ago when my fianc�'s transmission died. They were $3500 LESS than the Toyota dealer to replace the tranny.I've since used them for both of our cars, my truck, and my step-daughters car. The service is spot-on, Richard (Atlantic Blvd location by the intracoastal) always calls me to let me know what the issue is and what the coat will be. The old parts are available for inspection. These folks at this location have me business. They do everything except body repair and paint. My step-daughter lives in Atlanta and takes her car to Richard when she's in town and he checks it out for her bumper to bumper to let her know what to plan for regarding maintenance. I've always been very pleased and confident with their service. Their prices are less than the dealers by half (or better) and on one occasion, 25% less than Tire World for a front-end suspension repair. The ONLY thing I would say might be considered a negative is that they are extremely busy and you might not get your car back the same day that you take it in. They have a courtesy pick up & drop off as well. They've got my business - I don't even bother calling around for repair estimates anymore - they'll beat just about anyone AND they warranty their work - not that I've had to use their warranty though.

I will not take my vehicle back ever. I have a 2006 Ford Explorer 4.6l with a 6r60 transmission that likes to jam into first gear when coming to a stop. I called to get a price for a new transmission in which they told me to bring it in for $95 we will run a diagnostics and tell you whats wrong with it. I did this and they attempted to pull the codes (were only codes for a misfire, which I knew because I already did this) look for leaks, test drive it and check the fluid levels.... All of this I have already done myself. They did not look into the specs or information of the transmission checking for signal errors or any of that, which would be the next step seeing as not all issues will throw a code. ON TOP OF THAT, I also had them do an oil change, price was reasonable but there level of care with my vehicle was poor. They tried telling me that I needed a 2011 Ford 4.6L oil filter for my truck, tried saying I had an engine swap. I have been doing my own oil changes and taken it to other shops for oil changes and we all have been using oil filters for a 2006 Ford 4.6L. It took them over 5 hours to do an oil change. They left a mess under my truck with the oil filter I now smell oil burning on my engine (external) and oil slowly drips from the bottom of my truck where they let the oil drain out on my cross member. Thankfully I thought there might be an issue and I put a piece of cardboard under my truck that night. They did not clean the oil mess they made on the underside of my car. The overall service was poor and I will not be taking my vehicles back to American Transmission. They are not what they used to be. I will pay more money somewhere else before I take it to them.AVOID THIS SHOP!

I went to a tire shop with a wobble underneath my truck and they suggested American. The fella at American told me I definitely had something going on. He then told me it was going to be almost a thousand dollars just to tell me what was wrong with it after they already looked at it. I went and picked up my truck and replaced the universal joints myself. That place is a joke.

Good place. Update got my car after 10 day. They broke my door handle and now my car turns of while I drive sometimes (happened 2�). I still think they are good.

Had the transmission go on my 2004 Taurus. Dropped off at 9 am and it was ready by 3:30. Good price and never had another problem over the next 85K miles.

This place is the worst. They lied right to my face. Didn't do the repair and told me they did. Brought it back 3 times and still not repaired.

American transmission did a great job with working around my schedule. Had a very difficult problem . Nobody was able to fix my truck. They were the only ones that figured it out. I highly recommend American transmission.

Coming in to the situation having had a nightmare of an issue with my transmission on my first car, I expected the same run around. The folks at American transmission not only got the transmission done in two days but it came with a warranty and excellent service. If I could hug everyone there I would but instead I'll just post this stellar rating

Recommend giving this place a try. Had a transmission fluid leak and they fixed it up. First impression is that they are fair and do good work. They suggested a repair instead of replacing transmission and then made it work.
