Parts sold at significant markup to the dealership prices online. Labor costs came in about 15-20% above initially quoted for exactly agreed upon jobs. Overall pricing is at dealership level or more, but lacking the overall experience. I was charged $335 piece meal for the diagnostic, whereas at dealership it is usually flat half that. Charging $130 out of that to test drive and confirm the car vibrates at braking, and need new rotors, seriously? When I dropped it off, I said suspension was previously checked out by the dealer, wheels straightened, new tires, alignment, balance, etc. The only to things left suspect of ruining second set of front rotors was old calipers and flexible break lines (which I told them about, not the other way around). Charging $130 to confirm that?Shop looks messy at best more like a junk yard operation.Brought the car because second set of new rotors got warped after a 1k mile drive. They couldn t confirm why exactly and suggested trying new calipers. Calipers cost came in at $425 each whereas BMW dealers selling OEM for this model around $300. Front OEM rotors sell at $200, they charged $290.On top of that, I dropped of the car fit a full tank, and got it back at 7/8th. Must have been a really long test drive, I guess.I really see no point paying dealership prices without the matching training, certification, warranties, etc. Will not return, do not recommend.

As usual Jim and his crew did an awesome job! Every time I go to DBMW the customer service is awesome, the repairs are done quick and efficiently, and can t forget the great prices they have! Saved me thousands on repairs compared to other shops and especially the dealership. Thanks again Jim!

I was without a car within 6 months of buying it(from here). I had been referred here by a family member (& warned by others)However when I bought a car from them, I was told that everything was good to go and was replaced, including the oil. Jokingly, I asked if I'd be back in 3 months with issues. Incidentally, I did wind up breaking down a couple months later. Got services done, thought everything was good. At that point I was coming in nearly every 2 weeks, my car started smoking. I asked the mechanic that was doing work to check the head gasket and oil, and was told it wasn't necessary. When I picked up the car I was even told "uhhh the car can break down in 10 or 30 miles. . not quite sure..." Lo and behold I was starting to breakdown exactly 10 miles down the road. . With the mechanic "still trying to find the problem", I took it to another shop for a second opinion; they told me that the car wasn't even worth repairing & that I'd need my engine rebuilt. Apparently the filter was still the original... and the mechanic here said something along the lines of I didn't change the oil or blew the engine out. .. nice. Long story short, to reiterate I was without a car within 6 months of buying it and still had to pay it off.

My typical shop for my Honda and Subaru didn t want to attempt a fix on my BMW. I called DBMW this morning and they were able to diagnose and fix my issue same day. They don t know me from anyone and I feel like I was treated like a VIP. I will absolutely use them in the future.

First off let me start off by saying that Jim and his team go above and beyond. My oldest son who was just recently stationed down in Jacksonville had a ABS light illuminate on his BMW when he returned from deployment. The next couple of days he had another warning light indicating his car was now in limp mode. After making the phone call and talking to Jim about his issue he made it a point to have him come by the shop so he could take a look at it. After my son dropped it off and Jim ran diagnostics on his BMW he pinpointed a bad wheel speed sensor. Jim and his team didn't hesitate to fix his issue immediately and they were also amazing on pricing the repair. As a father and being so far away from your son you kind of hesitate asking some complete stranger to fix his car when normally you were the one to do it. Jim and his team at DBMW have earned my business going forward with his future maintenance and it's good to know honest repair facilities still exist today.

SCAMMERS. Lied about both the service and diagnostics they did (I had to take it to another shop, who quickly confirmed this) and overcharged with dealer-level pricing for what should have been a 30 minute job. Tried to tell me I needed a new turbo without correctly diagnosing a simple issue (vacuum line broke off). The stubborn old-timers that run the place should have some integrity in an economy like this

Thought I had a bad battery, called the dealer, they wanted to schedule an appointment 2 1/2 weeks out. LOL - so I call DBMW and they says bring it in, they got it done in 1/2 days-great service, always fair.Service: Electrical repairService: Electrical repair

This was my first time working with Jim and DBMW. I needed my oil filter housing replaced and a few maintenance things checked. They did a great job and the work was done earlier than expected. Definitely will be using them in the future.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance, Oil changeServices: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance, Oil change

I have worked with Jim at DBMW on several occasions. Reading through these poor reviews my experience was unfortunately the same. TWICE now I have had the same experience......I brought my BMW X5 in to have them check an oil leak, while they did fix the leak I left with a loud clanking noise. Turns out I needed to bring it back to have it fixed for another high fee! It wasn't clanking when I brought it in but was when I left. They of course didn't hear it when they test drove it and said "it was ready".Then, earlier this week I brought my son's car in and was told it was a radiator issue, they fixed it quickly and my sons car was ready the very next day with an $1,800 charge! He went to go pick it up and when he drove off the lot heard a loud noise. Drove it right back and was told, "they didn't hear that noise", it was the engine valve that came loose. Well it wasn't loose before we brought the car in! Then Jim had the audacity to tell me, "He can't control when the valve comes loose, but they were too busy to fix it". After charging me $1,800 to fix the radiator he won't fix a loose value that wasn't loose before we brought the car in????That same night my son's car broke down in the parking lot of his work. I had it towed to a different auto body shop and when I explained what happened, they even told me DBMW was a rip off with terrible customer service, I totally agree. NEVER USE THEM, I NEVER WILL AGAIN!Service: Engine repair

Thanks Jim at DBMW for the fast service and great job on my 2019 BMW 335I. Being stuck with a bad water pump 40 minutes from my home was not a good scenario. I checked with Bush BMW to have my head explode with what they wanted to charge to change the pump, DBMW did the whole job for a little more than what BMW wanted just for the parts.. Dropped the car off Friday afternoon, had it done by Monday afternoon! Thanks again, glad to have found an honest mechanic that really knows these cars.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I took my BMW 335 CI here to have a rear window repaired. They had my car for several days and the cost of the repair was $689. After two days, the window stopped working. I returned the car to them, and after three more days, I called them to see if the car was ready. They told me that my convertible top was broken and I would need to come and pick the car up because they could not repair the window. I asked them if they had checked the shelf in the trunk which must be pulled down before the top will go down and they had not. (No brainer) After another four days they called and told me that the car was ready. They charged me another $489 to repair the window that should have been warranted. I asked them if they could give me a discount since I paid twice to have the same window repaired and they refused. They are unfriendly, very unprofessional and ripped me off. I am sure they will rip everyone else off as well. They did not warrantee their work and took me for $1200 for a simple rear window that should ve cost about $700 , beware of this shop ! They deserve -10 stars !Service: Auto power window repair

A great local/independent BMW shop. Definitely a "hole in the wall" sort of location but DO NOT let that put you off. They done multiple services/repairs on my 2015 328 GT. Great service done on time and at a reasonable rate. They were recommended by a friend and they were spot on. I'd call if you have a super new BWM first but particularly for older models, definitely see DBMW! My service has been just as technically strong as at the dealership but at a much more reasonable cost. I will absolutely continue to bring my BMW to DBMW.Services: Electrical repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change

He replaced the timing chain on my son's R56 Mini Cooper, which is not a fun task to say the least. Completely satisfied. Can do 95 percent of the maintenance our cars need ourselves, but now I know I have a place close to home I can go for the five percent we can't do.Service: Engine repairService: Engine repair

Highly recommend for BMW owners! I called earlier today to see if they could look at my car and they said to come on in. Didn't expect to have my car done today. I figured it be a few days, maybe a week at most before they could get me in. But they could fix it brand-new alternator for $600 or used for $300. What a deal! Had my car done in 2 1/2 hours! I literally sat there & got some work done while waiting for my car! Very friendly & reliable. Granted they had my parts. Not always the case, but can get you in by the next day! Thanks Jim & staff!! Very grateful to have my car running again!Sophia

Amazing staff, friendly service, and quick turnaround! These guys have been in the Jax area for longer than I can remember and I've NEVER heard a bad word about them. Their staff is top notch, full of true enthusiasts who know their stuff. They treat you like family and strive to have you back on the road in a timely manner. I only have good things to say about my experiences with DBMW.Delete review

Had my daughters 08 Passat towed here April 2nd after the engine died. Tuffy told us that the timing chain was broken and belt would need to be replaced also. They said there would be valve damage and they could only do a full engine replacement. Before towing to DBMW I told Jim on the phone exactly what Tuffy diagnosed. They quoted me $2,200 for replacing those and head gasket repairs. After following up 2 weeks later they still hadn t looked at it (ok no problem). 1 week later they started looking at it , but still had to see what all it needed and Chandler didn t have an official estimate or breakdown. Another week and it was the same answer. Finally Friday May 14th I talked to Chandler again and said it s been way too long and I haven t received 1 call from them in all this time and every time I call there is no update. I gave them until Monday morning to get me an actual update and costs. Monday morning 9:30 I called and there was still no progress, but they promised me something in the afternoon. By 4:30 I knew they closed at 5 and I still hadn t gotten a call. I called and talked to Jim who told me that the estimate was $3,000 because the timing chain and belt needed replaced and they would have to inspect the cylinders still because they didn t know how many might need repaired. So basically after over 1 month he told me exactly what I had already told him and he still didn t know exactly the full scope of the job.I told them I had no faith in their abilities at this point and I was going to tow it somewhere else. I have them till 12n Tuesday to have it ready. When I got there with the truck Jim charged me $275 before he d give me the keys back. The piece of paper with the work done so far showed that the timing chain and belt needed to be replaced and that s what they discovered . There was a bag of parts in the trunk that were removed, which were next to nothing. Basically these guys sat on their hands for a month and a half then responded and then decided to try and work me for money. Just so that they could justify charging me.** Replying to the owner response: I never asked or expected you to work on my car for free, so don't try to confuse people with that. You waited over a month to touch it. When you did, you disassembled parts of the engine very quickly and last minute, only to tell me what I already knew. The new shop that I took it to, gave me a lot more insight on just how poor of a job you guys did at even inspecting anything. I was aware of a broken timing belt and timing chain and told you that. It was unfair to charge anything based on "work" you think you did. I have been able to get a reputable shop to do twice the work you guys did in 1 week vs. 1 month for a lower estimate. Instead of leaving false and misleading replies, perhaps you should try and fix your customer service issues.**Service: Engine repair

I had heard great things about DBMW how they didn t overcharge or try and sell you on something you didn t need. How they were trustworthy and did great work! It literally says on their website and I quote, We do it Right, for Less . I called them up and said I needed an oil change. They were accommodating on the phone. I was like okay so far so good!I showed up today at the time we set up, the gentleman asked me what they were doing today? I thought that s odd because I had booked a time for an oil change but no worries.I said I am here for my oil change. He asked my name, then he asked what type of vehicle I had, something is off, I thought. Then he asked if I had ever been here before, I said no, this is my first time. He took my info and entered me into the system and I said I have air filters on my front seat could you pop those in. He said yeah for sure. We can have it ready by this afternoon.I thought that is a little odd because I asked on the phone how long it takes and whomever I spoke with told me 30-45 minutes. But hey things happen so I was accommodating and left the car. Good thing I had my wife follow me.I get a call around 11:40am 2+ hours after I dropped it off, saying it was ready. Okay they were good on their time, he told me by this afternoon. They hit that time frame. I was feeling good about the experience a little off by the fact that they didn t know I was coming, had me drop off the car instead of waiting 45 minutes. It s about supporting a small local business and getting back to building relationships and trust within your community.I get to the shop go to pay and look at my bill. $281.84!!! I said what is this? You charged me $100 for the cabin filter and $50 for the engine air filter to put my filters in? Which they made clear on the receipt literally says provided by the customer next to each air filter and line item. The guy said well that is the charge for that time. Okay first it takes a total of 10 minutes if you haven t ever done it before! Second, I said you didn t tell me that at all! Knowing I was a new customer!I said are seriously going to charge me that price? He said that is the charge for the time. I asked do you think this is good business? No response I waited. I paid and he said I will go pull your car up. We do it Right, for Less is their motto on their website and on their receipt!Under the service tab of their website, it states: The services of DBMW are fair, reliable and affordable. DBMW stands behind all work performed and customer satisfaction is guaranteed!I feel the exact opposite of their motto!! Complete other end of the spectrum!Let s see if they believe their motto or not stay tuned...Response from the owner: 2 hours agoWow, he calls in for an oil change, then he brings in his own parts and expects us to put them in for free. Anyone can buy parts, most can t install them correctly. I have literally seen people ruin their engine working on their car themselves. In fact, most repair shops will not install customer supplied parts for numerous reasons. I am sorry he thought we would do repairs for free. I am fairly sure he doesn t provide free services to his clients. Now you accuse me of wanting/expecting something for free?? Let me ask you, did you perform an extra service or repair? No! Your tech's did not perform a different action, instead of putting the old ones back in they put mine in as you indicated on the invoice! What I said is are you seriously going to charge me that price? Did you charge me your full price, Yes! Did you provide me the product, NO but you charged me as though you did. Which is why I said do you think this is good business?! I waited for the correct response, & I still have not received it. I am sure that you see your fair share of inept mechanics, that is not applicable here. You got caught overcharging me, period! By the way, I value my clients & know that the only reason I am in business is because of them, not in despite of them.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Oil change

Liars and criminals. I was charged $700 dollars to replace 3 radiator hoses I found oem online for $150. As if that wasn't enough I was charged $150 dollars because I said , see if there's an easy fix to the stereo not working. Its still not working I got charged for 1.5 hrs .. all I said was if its obvious and there is an easy fix. I also made it very clear it wasn't worth any money to me. And if that wasn't enough I got charged 50 dollars just to look, literally look at my dash lights (abs) and confirm to me that yes the light is on. Soo $150 in radiator hoses cost me $1000 bucks ... like I said, criminal. Knew I wouldn't be back so they milked it.

DBMW is great on all points ~ they quickly accomodate my service needs and completion (oil change, tires, alignment, etc..), I find that they are more than reasonably priced, and they have always been courteous. I absolutely prefer local business over corporate, so I'm thankful they're here and look forward to continuing to call on them for any service on my car. Thanks ~ ya'll are awesome!

I had my 2006 BMW serviced twice in 2 months. Second time, I told them to inspect each and every thing, since I was going on a long trip. A week after service, I was driving to Orlando, and I noticed a burning smell. When I pulled over the car, I noticed smoke coming out of the hood and was stranded in between. In addition, when I had my car given for service, I told them about a water leakage problem in the trunk at battery compartment. They convinced me saying they had a good look at it and found no leak at all. But, I found the battery compartment filled with water when it rained after 2 days. So, I would not recommend this place to anyone. Totally disappointed with DBMW.Thanks,

Took my VW Passat here to have some parts replaced after my car broke down and it was returned to me in far better condition than received by the end of the work day! So thankful for these guys and their work. It's not many auto places that I feel comfortable going to being a female but I will absolutely return to DBMW after having such an amazing 1st experience with them. THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!!
