I live in Bonita Springs Fl, No one in our area can grind a crankshaft here, I asked our local Shop were he gets his done and he told me about Bullet Machine and I am glad he did, before he ground my crank he did the measurements and made sure the bearing size I would need was available for this particular crank, it is a Allis Chalmers B 1938 model, He saved me the money of grinding this crank because he was correct I could not get a bearing to fit since the crank was already ground once already, I am very appreciative of his common sense on this, especially because he took the time to verify this even when it cost him the job. His shop is 2.5 hours from us but well worth the drive to get quality work, it is worth the drive and I will definitely be using this shop for my future machining needs. He is very trustworthy and his prices are fair as you can also see from other reviews. Shops like this are hard to find anymore.

Stay Away From This "Machine Shop"Jake the kid had my Ford 302 for 3 months, while there he was to machine my block for a 347 stroker that he was piecing together for me (Crank, Rods, Pistons). I Paid for rotating assembly balancing what I received was a crank that was balanced but NOT the rods or pistons. Bearing clearances on the rods are 2.122 which is the same measurement on my crank which means there's NO oil clearance. This is the only machine shop that I have used that does NOT have spec cards for the machine work that they do. He did NOT notch the bottom of the cylinders for rod bolt clearances due to the larger stroke. He did NOT surface the landing on the main caps for the main girdle to sit flat. The lack of knowledge when performing machine work for a stroker engine is disgusting and very upsetting to me. I've spent over $5000.00 in machine work and parts with this KID in the last 4 months. He made deals with me to purchase stock 302 parts only for me to haul them all the way to his shop and be told from his dad that he doesn't know what he's looking at and they wont buy the parts. I'm highly disappointed and very aggravated knowing that I've spent all this money for proper machine work only to have to take my stuff to a professional shop for actual PROFFESIONAL work. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP.Service: Engine repair

In the past, Jake has taken care of me. I was very pleased with his service. This time I am disappointed. Wish I knew what went wrong. He has had the head of my engine for over a week. Came into his shop last week to inform him that I had an appointment with my mechanic the following Tuesday. Jake assured me he would be working Saturday and give me a call. No phone call Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. Today is Tuesday. I drove to his shop because I am meeting with my mechanic. He had not even touched the head, it was still in the bag. I thanked him, took my head, and departed. Looks like it is time to find another machinist.

STARS! Jake @ Bullet Auto Machine hooked it up big time! Complete ls 408 stroker long block. I dropped off a bare block, told him what I wanted to do with it, gave him a budget and some freedom to build what he thinks would suit my setup best and couldn't have been happier with my decision. Very fair priced, great communication, honest and professional! Dropping off another ls to have built for the next project. I couldn't be more pleased with the entire experience with this shop start to finish. Customer for life! Thank you Jake!

Bullet machine performed block services on my 1975 Pontiac 400 engine. I got the basic services required for rebuilding my engine and he also worked on the cylinder heads. The crankshaft was serviced and came back to perfect spec and very nice along with pressing the piston connecting rods, boring, decking, hot tank and sizing rings. Very reasonable prices and willing to work with you on your budget. Jake is a Personable guy and recommends what is needed to do the job right. Although he was very busy and it took a bit, I didn t mind so long as the work was done properly. I especially was concerned due to the specifics required on a Pontiac as it s just not a basic Chevy engine and he seemed to be very familiar with the specific attention Pontiac blocks needed to repair. I would definitely recommend Bullet Machine for your engine rebuild.Services: Engine repair, Motor building

Jake and his team did a great job! Had them check and repair both heads on a 2012 range rover for a customer. Their attention to detail was excellent and the price was spot on. Highly Recommend Bullet Machine!

Jake is an AWESOME machinist and runs a great shop. He did an amazing job turning my SBC 350 into a monster 383 stroker. He was super knowledgeable and helped me pick out rods and pistons along with appropriate hardware to support my HP goals. I think I used just about EVERY service that he offered and he made sure that I understood everything each step of the way. When I brought it all home, I double checked that ALL clearances were within spec and that all machining was meticulous and EVERYTHING was dead on! Jake kept me updated from the moment that I dropped my items off and stayed in touch until the day that I finished assembly and turned the engine on for the 1st time to make sure that everything worked out as well had planned. I have a few more projects that I'm working on and I wouldn't trust anyone else to do the work so I'll be dropping off a few more engine blocks soon. My experience with Jake has been 100% amazing and I recommend him to anyone needing his services.Service: Motor building

Jake the owner is assisting my in my Big block chevy build by the end of it its gonna be 578 cubic inches and he has completely surpassed my expectations at every turn from cost all the way to quality of work even storing it while I had to go out of town for no extra cost. always able to get me excellent pricing on high end parts such as my Dart block tall deck 454 bb and even my race tech pistons.Service: Motor building

Bullet machine is the best machine shop I ve ever been to! It s an hour away from me but it s worth the drive. Jake is a master at his craft. I ve brought a few cylinder heads, a engine block, a crankshaft and a semi truck cylinder head!

sent a crankshaft to be worked on. never kept me in the loop of what was going on. made and broke promise after promise. after I agreed to come and pick up the crank i showed up to a locked down shop at the agreed upon time so i called and he told me he would deliver the crankshaft to me the next morning, and as I type this he is on the phone saying he will not deliver the crankshaft. told me he would not try and help on pricing for my inconvenience. they do not keep their word, and have a bag full of excuses as to why they don't keep their word....will not use again, will not recommend again....if you have the time to wait use bullfrog in zephyrhills, they are always busy but they keep their word. shame on me for trying to use someone who didn't seem as busy. lesson learned. *****update***** my client went to pick up the crankshaft, said the owner was very pleasant, and at the end carried the crank out to his car, and wound up taking less than what was due. happy he did the right thing.Services: Engine repair, Motor building

I took a chance and drove 20 min to Bullet in search of some head dowels. The gentleman there went straight to a box and gave me a couple and when I went for my wallet he said not necessary, take em . After buying groceries this week and fueling up my pickup, I m not going to take this as something to be expected. I ll be going straight to Bullet with any machining needs from now on.

I was a female dropping off a cylinder head and didn't know what I was doing, Jake was extremely helpful. He unloaded the part for me explained very well what he was going to do. I understood after talking with Jake. Very professional, helpful, and the price was great. Will use them again!

Amazing shop and work I brought in a special head for my rb20 from Japan when they first opened the work done was extremely precise and turned out amazing! I have sent everyone I know there to have there engines machined by Jake he even helped me out and had me drop my block of Christmas Eve at 8 am and knew I needed it asap I was able to get it by 4 to start assembling my drift car and just picked up my cylinder head today for it with a gorgeous deck and clean on it my 25 year old engine looks brand new I WILL ONLY TAKE MY WORK TO THIS SHOP THEY ARE AMAZING AND THE QUALITY OF WORK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

I got an engine they built ls platform,After just 3 miles after a dyno tune the rod bolts came loose and threw a rodI know this because I had my tuner and an engineer friend of mine both verifyI told them of the issue, they said they would inspect and I would have to pay for that and parts he installed improperly.I said no, paid once, shouldn't have to pay twiceI got no contact from them for 3 days and when I made it aware on Facebook they installed my engine improperlyAnd opted to bring my tuner and engineer friend to get a second opinion as contextual for my claim and to clear up any issue he may use to blame my tunerI sent a video of the engine before instal showing massive up and down play at the bearings and he said that was normalWHICH IT IS NOT!Upon this he said if i show up im calling the police and blocked me4k down the drain a 6.2 goneService: Motor building

The work was good but when I went to pick up the part, he wanted more money without notifying me in advance This is after delaying the job by a week for pushy customers.He did good work but the business side needs a lot of work to keep people coming back.

Jake has done machine work for me in the past and he is second to none! Compared to other machine shops the prices are unbeatable especially knowing that the part he has made, fabricated, etc... is pure quality and that's what I go home with every time!
