Great place to stay a while. Customer service is outstanding , showers well maintained and clean with a large laundry room that is shared with the public. Caution: Bring your card to pay for washing because coins or cash are not accepted. Big rigs beware... the roads are tight but not impossible to maneuver, but sites are wide.Nearby activities: Visit the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park and see the manatees.

I stayed at this RV resort over the Thanksgiving weekend. The resort is in good shape, generally. Unfortunately, the restroom and shower building was closed for renovation. The website did not mention this as it would have been important to me since my camper does not have "facilities." They did provide a porta-potty trailer, and it was upper scale with showers. Unfortunately, the resort staff did not clean or maintain the facilities during my entire stay. The internet was useless. There were other amenities that were not working or available during my stay. It's frustrating since I was charged $30 for amenities.

Management is awesome! Great manager Polly! Awesome sales Sandy! Fun place to live. A lot of neighbor support and gatherings. Great shopping 25 mins. away. 15 minutes to fun restaurants on the water. One thing SunRetreats should consider is lowering their commissions on the homes they sell for owners who want to sell. They need to be competitive to keep the sales going through the office. I know they lowered but really need to lower at a competitive rate. Thank you for considering that suggestion.

Nice, level, gravel RV sites with picnic tables. Clean showers in the bath house. Nice pool.Nearby activities: Close (but not walkable since there no sidewalks) to the wildlife refuge, waterfront and festival grounds.

We ended up staying here at the last minute stop with our rv. Booking reservation was easy and the park was in pristine condition! There are both seasonal people who are more long-term residents as well as people who just pop in like us for an overnight state or two. It's in close proximity to the Rainbow Springs we would definitely stay here again! Heated pool, fun activities all year round, a really good feeling of community and even a golf putting course that is along the sides of the road! It's not a traditional Putt-Putt but the residents were playing and walking around and it was very fun to see! We also played shuffleboard and one of the residents told us the rules of the game which made it even more fun!

The retreat is delightfully quiet. It s an older park ( we realized we had stayed there 30 years ago!) and roads are a bit narrow. There are many shaded sites with gravel. Some are hard surface. We enjoyed our visit BUT I think someone in the park has dyslexia and thinks the Dog Park sign reads Dog Krap! I picked up 5 bags of poop and barely made a dent. In the morning I almost stepped in one of 5 fresh huge piles. I think management needs to clean up the park and emphasize that owners need to pick up after their pets.

Even though it rained the entire time I was there, it has no bearing on my thoughts of how this once favorite park of mine has gotten dirtier and less friendly.

This RV site is not designed for large trailers, we have a 44 ft trailer & played hell trying to get it parked without destroying it or other property. The roads are so narrow. Trees need to be trimmed. There was NO cable the entire 5 days there. Called Spectrum they said we had to notify the front desk, Front desk said we had to get ahold of Spectrum, they then called but we still didn't get any cable. We have a porch attached to trailer, our dogs would be out there, if someone walked by they would bark. Someone reported we have barking vicious dogs which isn't true and only trying to start trouble for us. The "dog area" is right at the water with signs stating 'beware of alligators, poisonous snakes. There's no fence & only 25ft of walking area from water & grass area. We were totally dissatisfied with this park & would have left immediately if we could have gotten our money back. We would not recommend this park if you have a trailer 30ft or bigger & have dogs that bark. Brenda & Jack Quick of Safety Harbor, FL 34695

Great staff and nice park. Only complaint was the bathrooms while we were there. Dirty and wet floors and I was not able to take a shower both times I tried since there were kids and families using the only two stalls both times. Park appeared to be clean and well kept. There were a few questionable tenants, but it is Florida after all.

We stayed here for a week and loved it. Wanted to stay longer but they were booked through the Thanksgiving weekend.Staff were friendly. Bathroom and showers are nice and clean. The laundry area was clean. They dont take quarters so be sure to bring your debit card. There is an app you can use but we didnt have cell service so could not download the app.We enjoyed walking around the ponds looking at the turtles.Grocery stores close by. Close to the Homosassa state park. That place is amazing too!We will definitely be back!

Full-time RV Resort. If you come in please ask not to be put under any trees out RV was full of leaves and debris! and the residents there are mostly full-timers They consider it their home. So be respectful, The maintenance man there is a very nice person and he'll help you out any way he can, It's clean and well organized place. Restaurants are close by.

We went to kayak (Paddle tour of CrystalSprings). Didn't need fancy hotel, this RV rental was just fine. We even had a blast making our final transition to senior hood with some rip roaring shuffle board games! We are a competitive family. The pool was hot 94 but clean, and the dog park was great for our family pooches. We would do this again, it's fun!

Site was terrible pull through. We believe they created 2 sites out of one. Park staff told us it was a premier site one of the best they had. It was terrible.Showers were filthy. Standing water and hair clogging drain.Free Wi-Fi was basically nonexistent. We paid to upgrade to high speed internet. It never worked. More of a mobile trailer park than a nice RV resort.

What a pleasant surprise! My husband and I enjoyed a short weekend getaway here and couldn't be more happy with our stay! The office staff were wonderful and we were lucky enough to meet the delightful full timer across the way from our space. After we left, he noticed that we left our surge protector plugged in and got in touch with the office who gave a us call right away. We look forward staying there again in the near future.

This was my 1st time renting a modular here. It's been exceptional. Check-in was quick and easy. The grounds have grown quite a bit over the years and many improvements were made. The cabin was exceptional! Fully stocked. A cozy electric fireplace is nice after a long day of swimming in the springs. Everyone in town is so very nice. I had planned on leaving after 3 days, but decided on staying one more night, just to relax and order in. Bring your own fire pit if you like the comfort of a fire, otherwise there is a community one, but I never went by to see if it was being utilized, as I brought my own. We have had no neighbors, so it has been very quiet. We brought our own 10x10 canopy for outside and decorated with lights for a more homey feel. I will definitely be back soon. Possibly wanting to purchase.

I wish they have 3 1/2 stars. This is a Sun RV Resort Property. Upon entering, we were really impressed with the pool, check-in, landscaping, staff. Once we got to our campsite, not so much. We were given site C9, which was between two, what appeared to be either full-timers or permanent site. Both neighbors used up almost their entire sites, so it was a bit difficult pulling in with a 30 ft Class A. Our site was not paved and the picnic table had seen better days, lots of dirt and rot. In addition, the bathhouse situation was less than ideal; there is only 1 bathhouse for approx. 200 sites, the men s room had 1 urinal, 1 sit down, 2 showers, but to access one of the showers one would have to walk through one of the showers. Did not check out the women s restroom, but again, only one location. The place isn t horrible, but considering the price and being a Sun RV Resort Property, I expected more. It's probably a great place for snowbirds and permanent people, as there were a lot of organized activities at the campground. We originally wanted to stay in Crystal River to swim with the manatees, however, we couldn t get a campsite, so Homosassa River was close. Little did I know that you can swim with manatees in Homosassa River, it s unnecessary to drive to Crystal River. We plan on visiting he Crystal River again sometime in the future, I will be looking for a different campground.

Don't waste your time and money. This is a retirement community that also squeezes RV and campers in spaces. The sites have big lime stone rocks that are like chalk they are level with picnic tables, no fire pits. Very tight roads too. Our 50 ft DP barely fit into the space they call "big rig spaces". Honestly as full time travelers we are getting tired of the rv parks that advertise "resort" when all they are, are communities that barely have room for rigs. This problem is all throughout the country. Boondocking here we come...

We had a great time at the Resort. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Lots of things to do at the resort and in the area and great restaurants near by. The only issue is we camped at sites C3 and C4 and when it rained; which it is Florida so every day, there was significant flooding at our campsite. The flooding was so bad that we could not get in and out of camper without wading in water. Most of the sites at this campground were fine, but these two really need more gravel or to be paved. It really made the camping experience difficult because we could not even sit outside in front of our camper because of constant standing water. Other than water issue, we loved our stay and would return, but get different sites next time.

Our campsite was extremely small and was almost impossible to back our 26ft camper into. The grassy area in the middle of the roundabout was a muddy swamp and we nearly got our truck (4x4) and camper stuck in the mud while backing up. We had to ask 3 of our neighbors to move their vehicles so that we could get in and out. Beware of this when booking any of the D camping spots. Staff was friendly but the pool water was hot and overcrowded and the pool table was out of order.

Mixed feelings review. The general location to downtown old Homosassa is great. The resort designation must be taken with a grain of salt. Staff has been great so far. I can see they are making pool area improvements. There is a very large contingent of long time rentals (e.g. residents) here in more permanent Park Model type RV s. Some of the driveways and rental slots are very tight to get in and out. The premium SunWifi Internet service is probably your best bet. (Cost 30/month at the time of this posting). We will probably seek alternative locations in the coming years unless some improvements are made.

It was my family and I first time in this campsite... Had 3 reservations..Check in was fast. The staff was absolutely amazing... The place was clean. Wildlife and preserve is literally 2 minutes away. If you like to fish you can do it there or go 25 minutes from the campsite to Ozello Community Park Bridge. They also have Bingo nights, "so much Fun".The spot i had for my travel trailer was a bit tight in which I was a bit disappointed the first day we got there, however the time spent with family made up to it.

Booked for 2 nights, left after the first.1 extra star for the seemingly nice pool area. Many run down trailers, very dirty camp spot, could not let our toddler outside because of that.Sanitary building was bad as well.Large nasty looking dog with very long leash next to us, also not comforting for little baby to walk around.

Our family of 5 stayed at the Homosassa River RV resort for one night while traveling through Florida. The park was very well kept and all the amenities were in great condition and as advertised. The spots were close to each other but the park had done a good job to keep some trees and vegetation between sites as best as possible to provide some privacy. Everyone seemed friendly and welcoming and we would gladly stay there again in the future.
