Terrible experience here. Don't use Vicar Auto Center. The owner employs bait and switch tactics and is dishonest. He had our only vehicle for over 48 hours before he informed us at the last hour on a Friday afternoon that our bill was going to be over double the amount he stated. This was after he said that he thoroughly inspected our automobile and looked at everything 24 hours before. Bring your vehicle somewhere else.Service: General repairs & maintenance

This guy is very dishonest. He is price gouging. What are very dishonest person, he overprices the parts and labor costs are way overpriced. Please do due diligence when dealing with this business. I was not the first and not the last. Karma will get him.

Warning Don't bring your vehicle here if you are seeking an honest and upfront mechanic. The owner will bait and switch you and take advantage of you. Go, no run to somewhere else.

I called them for a quote to replace an oil pan, they suggested that I bring over to them and they might save me some money by getting the oil plug out for me. The end results were, fabulous! The got the plug out and replaced, changed my oil with the oil I bought previously along with the filter and topped off my washer fluids with the fluids I bought as well previously. They had me in and out within an hour, plus the customer service was very good. The recognized that I didn't speak Spanish and they continued out the whole process in English for me. I tip my hat off to them, Thank you for your great service!

Being a new car owner and having never owned one before I didn't know much about where to go to get certain things on my car fixed. Let alone what was actually wrong with it. I was referred here my a worker (Angel) and someone I consider a friend who works at auto zone. He said they were to be trusted and such. And they were right they fixed my car and unlike many places didn't cheat me out of my money. They even told me the actual problems to my car and gave me a really good deal to fix it. Even gave the option that everything did not have to be paid in full. And now my Sebby (the car) is full working and ready to go. I can't thank Vicar Auto for helping me fix my car. This has now become my body shop for all my cars issues. And personally I think everyone should come here and try it for themselves!!

This guy truly too advantage of my elderly father. He overcharged him, repairing items that did not need repairing. One item was 428.00 for front brakes. Can you imagine that price for brakes on a 2004 truck? Once it was brought to his attention he gave an BS itemized receipt with wrong dates and fees. But no refund!!! This truly Elderly abuse!!!!Services: Transmission, Auto engine tuning, Brakes

It's amazing how all of the one-star reviews are posted around the same time and many of them do not even have comments so obviously someone got their friends involved in trying to bring down a great and honest business. My wife and I have been going here for about 3 years now even when we lived in Cutler Bay and Kendall we would drive our cars down to be serviced here. We have never had a bad experience and we have only been charged when there's been actual work done. We never take our cars anywhere else and always recommend this place. When we traded in our Kia Optima that was serviced here on a consistent basis every dealership we went to said the engine was in great condition. If you believe any of the one-star reviews you will miss out on a great and trustworthy mechanic.

The owner was very helpful and got me back on the road quickly when I had an issue with my motorcycle. He helped translate my issue to his mechanic and saved me a pricey tow to Miami. If you breakdown in Homestead these guys are trustworthy. Thanks again for the help with directions. Sven

Alvic is amazing so honest and helped me quickly in my time of need. I had an accident on my way home to Tampa and by the next morning my car was fixed perfectly. I'm so happy and grateful for this place! If you have anything bad to say about Vicar Auto, you are the problem. They are amazing. I wish I had them at home! 10/10

Driving home to Islamorada on a Saturday, a front brake on my van seized up and I pulled into Vicar. They gave me an assessment in 15 minutes, the owner himself drove me to the rental car agency and refused payment for doing so. I picked up the van Monday, fair price and good workmanship. Recommended.

I took my bmw here 4 months ago. And he still has it. I m to the point I think he s trying to steal my car for parts. I took it in because it had a high idol only when the car first started then it would smooth out as the car ran. After doing a diagnostic for the high idol he told me the car could be fixed for 560. He clearly admitted that his mechanic who obviously knows nothing about bmw repairs took the balancer off wrong which in return threw off my timing in the end he tells me he don t have the tool needed to set the timing back and that I would have to spend over 2k for a new motor when there was nothing wrong with my motor. I would not trust this guy he s the type that scams with a smile on his face and plays the inoccent role as if he s trying to help. Shop Not recommended at all. Also he does not communicate with his customers I had not received a phone call from him since I take my car there. Then I go in and he tells me he has to get another mechanic to help with there overload of work or he will get to it. I m not sure how my car got pushed to the back of his repair list or why I had to physically go in for him to tell me he couldn t fix it or even put it back together like it was when I drove it into his shop. I received no phone call or any attempt to contact me until I filed a complaint with the dept of agriculture. Go at your own risk. He will quote a price and that price will go up tremendously when it s all said and done big scam if you ask me. Price gouging is not acceptable!!! He gives a low price so you agree to the repair then goes in and says it needs more work or another part this is bs and I don t see how he getting away with it! How was this not recognized during the diagnostic test? Don t trust! Don t trust!

Victor guaranteed my wife and I that our vehicle's issues (stalling and rough idle) had been diagnosed and fully repaired. We paid $333.37 for these guaranteed services. We left his shop, stalled out at the first red light, and idled rough the entire way home, just the same as when we brought the vehicle in. We called him immediately, he said he would assume the financial responsibility of fixing the vehicle if we brought it to him the next day. We agreed, but when we arrived the next day he suggested increasing the RPMs to "fix" the problem. I told him I'm no mechanic but I understand that by increasing the RPMs, he would essentially be taking a shortcut to get around fixing the actual problem, not to mention the detrimental effect it would have on my gas mileage. One of his mechanics on duty walked into the office, unaware of the conversation we were having. I asked that mechanic if he thought it would be advisable to increase the RPMs on my vehicle to fix this issue. He immediately replied with conviction that he would never touch the RPMs on my vehicle, because that setting is exactly as it should be, and increasing it would only be, as I suspected, a corner-cutting method to avoid the trouble of an actual repair. At this point, I told Victor I'd prefer the repairs to be done properly, at his expense, as promised. After a long day of disagreement, we established that I would return the next day for the proper repairs. The next day, Victor tells me that he has no obligation to me, because he did his research and discovered my argument wouldn't hold up in a court of law. If I want my truck fixed I have to pay, and he also informed me that if I choose to do so, I am not welcome to stay at the shop and wait while my truck is being repaired. He said this was a matter of shop policy. Meanwhile, a gentleman sat right outside the office in a chair, a few feet away from the mechanic who was working on his vehicle. I told him I would prefer to remain with my property while it is in his care. He told me that if I chose to stay at his shop, he would drive my truck around the back of his property so that I could not observe the repairs. Victor told me to bring attorneys, bring the police, bring whoever I want and he will be happy to tell them the same thing he told me. He also put the wrong oil in my vehicle (10W30 instead of 5W30) despite the fact that the cap he unscrewed to change the oil reads clearly in big letters, 5W30. When I told him this, he needed me to pop the hood to prove it to him. This is an absurd way to run a business. He charged me $333 for a slew of things which had nothing to do with the problem my vehicle was having, which is illustrated by the fact that my vehicle still exhibits the same exact symptoms it did when I brought it to him. He guarantees his work, but this is only an illusion of a guarantee. Victor has been caught in numerous lies, and that seems to me to be the only logical reason for him to be so upset. I should be the one who is upset, having paid so much money to see absolutely no change in the problem the repairs were meant to address. My wife and I choose small businesses for their integrity, as a matter of principle. We prefer to support the mom and pop shop over the Pep Boys if possible. We went to him because he was well reviewed and local to our neighborhood. We made a big mistake, and hopefully this review helps others to avoid the same mistake. Victor is also a price gouger. I know this because I witnessed a conversation between him and another customer who appeared to be stuck at Vicar with car troubles. The customer asked Victor why he was being so steeply overcharged for the parts on his invoice. Victor said that the prices on the invoice reflect the cost of the parts. The customer informed Victor that he knew the cost of those parts to be much less than what appears on the invoice, and that he will go to a store nearby and purchase those parts himself for half of Victor's price. Victor said that he would do the repairs but increase the cost of labor. Does this not speak volumes?

I was in town visiting and my transmission went. I was recommended this place and after dropping a pretty penny on the transmission and a couple other things they said "was routine", I was having the same problem. It almost seems like they even made things worst. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Very bad experience I had in this workshop, the owner is a scammer gave me an estimated $ 600 and I told him to start at half an hour he called me that they were $ 200. After a while he called me telling me that he had to charge me $200 more. and after a while he called again saying that he had more problems with the car and that he would charge me 300 dollars more. In conclusion I had to tow my car to another workshop and thanks God they fixed it for 500$.
