I highly recommend Empty Pockets Repair Service. I spent hours calling shops all over Jacksonville, looking for help. I am a decent DIY mechanic with 24 years experience working on aircraft. My Ram 1500 had a check engine light and I was getting a misfire on number 8 cylinder. I also had the "hemi-tick". I tried the usual fixes in my garage that I felt comfortable with but I could not clear the code and the "ticking" was getting worse. My gasoline hemi sounded like a diesel! The truck also began running rough. I took my truck to a local shop that will remain nameless. They confirmed what I was afraid of. My Hemi motor drive train was failing. The unnamed shop offered to replace the engine for a minimum of $5,500 without even pulling the valve cover. They seemed too busy, as I waited 3 days for an estimate. I called another shop, they quoted me $7,800 for a new motor. That is when I found Scott at Empty Pockets. I dropped my truck off on Thursday night and he diagnosed the problem on Friday morning with his advanced diagnostic computer. He called me before lunch with the bad news that my lifter on number 8 was seized up. He also told me my cam shaft may be damaged, too. I knew this would be a big dollar repair, but he could repair my Ram without changing the motor for half the price of a new motor. Scott insisted that I use MOPAR parts only. Scott emailed me an estimate immediately and I authorized the repair. He ordered the parts and got them on Monday. This repair required ALL the lifters and Cam shaft be replaced. It entailed pulling the heads. Scott also serviced my transmission during this time. Basically, he performed open heart surgery on my truck. From start to finish it took 2 and a half days. I picked up my truck and it NEVER sounded better. I was so happy. The hemi power was back! It has been 2 weeks and I drove my truck every day since then. I also towed my camper to the beach and back. The light is gone. The code is gone. The tick is gone. The motor sounds like a new truck. No leaks. Everything was reinstalled as if I did the repair myself (which I could not do). Scott saved me thousands of dollars because he was not afraid of doing a complete drive train repair. Scott gave me the parts he pulled and and gave me the bad lifter. It was not a pretty sight. He also showed me my cam that had a groove cut into it from the bad lifter. It was just a matter of time before the motor seized. I would trust Scott with ANY repair. This man has a spectacular, state of the art garage. If he can't fix it, it ain't broke. Scott is a professional mechanic. He called me after 2 days to follow up and see if I was happy and if my truck was running smoothly. I highly recommend Empty Pockets Repair Service for all your automotive needs. Great job, Scott!Service: Engine repair

Excellent quality, great price, and honest people! Scott is knowledgeable and dedicated to his work. We went in thinking we knew what the problem was. We asked him to order parts and replace them. He found that it was something different, a much cheaper to fix problem. Scott was transparent and honest and in the end saved us about $700.

Mr. Scott will be fixing my car if anything goes wrong again. I took my car to the dealership and they told me it would cost $895. I was recommended by a neighbor to talk to Mr. Scott and when I told him what was wrong he gave me a complete different amount. An amount that was in my budget. He did not sugarcoat anything and DID NOT try to take advantage of me due to me being a female. Very professional and very kind. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Mr. Scott at Empty Pockets.

Scott saved my engine. My water pump went out and he answered the phone and told me I could tow it there but not to drive it. He had to take my engine apart I was very scared so I consulted my son who is a mechanic in North Carolina and Scott spoke with him and we decided to trust Scott. It turned out to be the best decision I made this year. I would highly recommend this mechanic and I never do that except when I'm talking about my son. I will bring my car there and when I buy my next car I will bring it there as well.

It begins with my wife , so unsatisfied with customer service at other place paying for things we didn't understand ; and then one day she was referred to Scott, she came home not with her usual upsetting car appointment stories but forcing me to look at pictures at this clean shop, and rambling on about what nice guy, him and the young apprentice he has working with him, she felt so secure with our purchase of repairs not only because fair price but because he took the time to listen to her concerns and then to show her the problems , flashlight and all, I have since taken my truck to him and been just as satisfied , in fact he guided me through changing my own coolant system , and found a loose base in a fuse panel, (caused by other mechanic) in minutes ,.THANK YOU SO MUCH SCOTT MAKING CAR REPAIR AFFORDABLE OND EDUCATIONAL.
