Heard good things about them so I brought my Tahoe in for intermediate hard starts. They suggested fixing some unrelated problem that cost me $700. Still have the same problem but now with $700 less to fix it with. Owner is nice to you until you have to bring your car back because of subpar service they performed. After his condescending attitude when I called back I just decided to go somewhere else. I should have listened to my wife when she was concerned about the amount of old dead cars piled up around their shop

They were highly recommended to me and met all my expectations.From getting my appointment to my car ready,the service interaction with them was 5-star.They treated you as being special and a friend of the family.They were ready fo me and finished with my car when promised.The work on my car was fabulous and it ran better than it had for years.They even found a problem and fixed it for less money because they already had the engine apart.Again,all aspects of their service was 5-star and that's rare these days. There are very few people that my husband will trust to work on our cars when it s something that he doesn t have time or ability to do himself. He describes Quinn and his son as some of the best he s met. Highly recommend.

My husband and I have used Holton Automotive for many years, and they are the best in Gainesville for car upkeep and repairs. Over the last decade or so, they have worked on our cars, the oldest being my 2007 Mustang, and the most recent being my 2019 Lexus. They are fast, thorough, dependable, very nice, helpful, likable and their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend them. I assure you that you won t be disappointed.

Always exceptional service and got work done pretty quickly since they knew I had a spouse with cancer at home--even though they were very busy! Quinn and crew are just the best!

Dropped my truck off on 10/11 for what I thought was a fuel pump going out.. 10/25 I called to see if my truck was repaired and ready. They told me that they wanted to road test it one more time and if that road test went well, my truck would be ready for pick up. I picked my truck up later that day and was told that they replaced the distributor, spark plugs, an O2 sensor, and an ignition module. $916.61 later my truck was was reported to have more power and ready to go. The reality was when I cranked my truck up it wasn t idling well, broke down on me twice on my way home. It barely made it back to my house. I called Holton s as soon as I got home to make them aware of the condition of my truck. They had it towed back to the shop and I m now waiting for updates now 16 days in. This is my primary vehicle Update: 21 days now with no truck! I ve called for update, only to be told they would call back. They ve never returned a call. I dropped my truck off with just under a half tank of fuel. They told me they need to get more fuel for it before they can road test it. Still after spending almost a thousand dollars at their shop, no idea of when I ll have my truck back, and no communication from them to justify having my truck for almost a month now. The only information they ve given is that the distributor that they ordered was bad they reported replacing the faulty one they ordered almost a week ago..

this place was recommended by a few people who also have a miata. they check all the boxes for great customer service, hospitality, and transparency. they even gave me a walkthrough on how to change the bushings of my shifter on my own. thank you so much!

My go to shop for all automotive issues! The staff is always friendly, honest, and the pricing is fair. They have never tried to upsell unnecessary services like the car dealerships and the mechanics actually know what they are doing. It is a busy shop, but they will take care of you. Highly recommend

Great place. They are a little old school. If you are looking for a fancy showroom and a free coke, this is not it. If you are looking for an honest repair shop where they know what they are doing, and not guessing or just trying to milk you, you found the right place. Its nice to know reputable service centers still exist.

Still the best mechanic Ive found with the lowest labor rate in town. Honest and impeccable work. 6 years going there and never a complaint from me. I wont use anyone else. He does whats needed and tells you what he finds extra and shows you the bad parts without me even asking. I trust Holtons implicitly.

We brought our Mazda5 here when it needed brake work. Dealership would not do the work because only aftermarket parts were available. Holton did the work and guaranteed it, and delivered when they promised they would.And when a part failed 5 months later they replaced it at no charge! Overall a really good experience.

I had brought my car here for the battery dying multiple times with no issue, but this last time has been a nightmare. I dropped off my car two weeks before the holidays, and now (two months later) they are not answering the phone when I call any longer. We have a small child and two jobs that require our attention, and having just one car for this long (with no idea on when we will get it back) is beyond stressful.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I've been taking my vehicles to Holton for years. They are the most honest and caring mechanic shop I've ever been to. I usually have to book an appointment a few weeks out - they're so busy because they're THAT GOOD! During my most recent trip, they forgot to mention something that needed repaired. When I inquired a few days later, they made it right immediately in a big way, as any quality business would. They're not out just for the dollars, they seem to truly care about their work and their customers. As long as I'm in the Gainesville area, I will never take a vehicle anywhere else. Thank you for being amazing, Holton. I'm so grateful for you!

I have been taking my car to them for repairs since 2017 and they have always done outstanding work. Unlike some of the dealerships and other repair shops they stand by their work as well, if they miss something or something is not fixed right rather than make excuses they make it right and for me that is the hallmarks of what I want in a mechanic and why I will continue using them for as long as they are around. They have never tried to sell me on a repair that they did not believe was necessary and flat out told me if something was not financially a worthwhile repair. I ve been coming here for awhile. The lady that ran the desk before the owner Quin was very nice and pleasant. But the owner who now runs the front desk attitude is trash. Very unpleasant and disorganized. Had an appointment for a month checked twice about the date. Show up and they say I don t have an appointment! Remind you my a/c went out and I paid $1,300 for them to put new system in. Had multiple problems and yet another one. Also bring my other car here for service but not no more. Not going to say he s a RACIST but he s always treated me funny but I notice its NOT PLEASANT to every race. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE WITH A OWNER WHO DOES NOT WANT TO Work and always in BAD MOOD!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I like to think of myself as a fairly handy guy, but some jobs are a bit too big for me to tackle in my driveway. Holton Automotive is my go to place for repairs that need a more professional touch. In the years that I've been a customer, I've recommended them to anyone asking for an honest shop to get work done. Isn't it sad that our #1 concern is honesty? Not quality of work, or fair pricing, but honesty... Either way, Holton has never steered me wrong. This shop is run by good people that have never left me feeling like I got a bad deal. I even recommended them to my mother. She uses their services for jobs big and small. If you are looking for a mechanic that will do good work, charge a fair price, and treat you with respect, look no further than Holton Automotive.

I had one of my best auto repair experiences at Holton Automotive. My friend recommended them and i drove 300 miles based on his opinion. It was worth every mile. Quinn and Sharon were awesome as was their team. Not only did they fix my car a/c, but replaced a few things they could see were worn out. They were professional, helpful and plain wonderful. When i told them i was moving closer to them, they suggested a few good repair shops near my new house, in case i didnt think i could get my car up to them. I would recommend them to anyone in a second. I am so glad i found them. Thanks again Quinn and Sharon. Mahalo.

Absolute best shop in town! We had them go over our Tahoe top to bottom. New ac, brakes, tires, trans service, oil change, new instrument cluster, they did it all! They got it done in a fair amount of time & UNDER my budget!! They will continue to be my only mechanic.

For the past 10 years, I've been taking my car to Holton Automotive--for everything from oil changes to minor and major repairs--and have ALWAYS had great service. The mechanics do a great job: experienced and honest, they diagnose and fix the problem and do so in a timely manner. The price is always fair: not once have I felt like I was being overcharged or taken advantage of (in fact, estimates of repairs have often been lower than what I feared they would be). It's always busy at Holton, but the wonderful manager, Sharon, keeps things running smoothly and sees to it that both cars and customers are well taken care of. In addition to being super friendly (always!) and going out of her way to accommodate customers, Sharon takes the time to explain everything in detail: what's wrong, options for repair, cost estimates, you name it. She knows so much about cars that she could easily be one of the mechanics!! And if the diagnosis includes multiple problems, Sharon is great about discussing them in terms of priorities, for customers who may not be able to afford a huge repair bill (i.e., "you really need to fix X now, but Y and Z are less urgent...."). If you want your car repaired well and you value great customer service, take your car to Holton! I'm glad I did so many years ago when a friend highly recommended it to me.

Just wanted to sincerely thank Sharon and the team at Holton Automotive for the excellent service and courtesy they extended my daughter when she had car trouble. Their pricing was very reasonable and they genuinely cared about fixing it correctly, quickly and not over charging. In fact if I recall correctly, the bill was actually LESS than the estimate they provided before beginning the work.

Holton automotive is my go to mechanic shop.They are honest, friendly, and professional. I always feel like they are looking out for me and my auto needs and not just trying to make a buck. Quinn, Derek, Sharon, and the rest of the crew are awesome friendly folks and they are my first choice when recommending a mechanic.

Quality service, reasonable prices, knowledgeable technicians, friendly associates. I can't say enough! Sharon always helps me. She is efficient and she even knows about the vehicles, not just the techs. I won't go anywhere else when something is acting up on my GMC, or it simply needs a regularly scheduled oil change. I highly recommend you start with Holton Automotive and you won't go anywhere else.

We have been taking our family cars to Holton for over ten years. Quinn is a very professional experienced mechanic, and can diagnose almost anything right away. The service is great, both in getting your car fixed quickly and the excellent communication from Sharon, the most helpful and genuine receptionist I have ever met. There is a reason they have been around as long as they have, and it is the high level of quality service.

My husband and I have been going to Holton s for a number of years for repairs and maintenance on our vehicles. Not only is the service great, but this shop is honest. We always feel taken care of and wouldn t go anywhere else. Wonderful people at Holton!!! Treat you like family and better! Will not sell you something you don't need and make sure they do the job right the first time. Reminds me of how your granddad would run his business back in the day, honest, upfront, fair and done right! May be over an hour drive for me but they have earned all of my business!
