This business was fantastic to work with. We were here visiting in Gainesville for a football game and our engine seized. Our vehicle was towed here and they were so kind to store our vehicle at their location and provided us great feedback on what happened. Great customer service and extremely helpful!

These guys are the best. They re honest, patient, accommodating, educational, fair, fairly priced, and very transparent throughout the process. The only thing I m not in love with is their location; they re a bit out of the way for me, but geez, it s such a small price to pay, and I m happy to pay it.I won t bring my car anywhere else for general maintenance/repair.

Shout out to Nick, my mechanic, who assessed what the issue was with my car, then executed the repair, all in a timely fashion. Thank you Nick! I appreciate you ensuring that we get a better performing car (the car is more gas efficient now) and is reliable. Shout out to the young lady at the front office. I appreciate her maturity, customer service, and her professional demeanor.

The service Josh and his team at Dad s Auto Repair is nothing short of exemplary. They are fair, honest and reasonably priced. I wouldn t hesitate to recommend them to anyone who needs their vehicle repaired. It s worth noting they do an excellent job working on classic cars. I ll definitely be a repeat customer!

HORRIBLE Auto Mechanics! Joshua D Martin and Michael D Martin Jr. are dishonest, unethical low life's. Brought my vehicle in for a simple radiator and fan replacement. They said I needed a new battery too, so I brought them a brand new Interstate battery. They installed the battery, but did NOT do a simple DC test that would have told them the alternator wasn't charging the battery. So they said the vehicle was fixed, I paid them and 10 minutes down 39th Ave my vehicle dies in the middle of the road. I called their tow truck to have it towed back and then was informed by them that somehow this was my fault and I had to pay a $200 tow bill. Then they said they were going to charge $1000 for storage fees. Also, witnessed their controlling, abusive behavior as Josh gaslighted his niece (Mike's daughter) who works there too. These guys are a NIGHTMARE!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

My husband and I had some bad luck with cars over the past week...Words can't even express my appreciation for Mike and his team. They got the truck in within a day, got the problem diagnosed and fixed. I even asked for some extra work (oops, sorry) and they graciously agreed. Just want to say thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

Price was a little higher than expected, but the guys did a great job and squeezed me into their busy schedule. You get what you pay for, so the little extra did not matter to me, I have peace of mind that my repair was done correctly.

I have been changing oil in Dad's Auto Repair for a little more than 1 year. The shop have been honest about my car's condition and does not try to scam me. The receipnist is always very friendly and responsive to my questions.Recently the car dealer told me the brake fluid looked bad and wanted to charge my a lot for it. I brough my car here to check if I really need it. Dad's mechanic checked it and told me the fluid look clean. I really appreaciate their honest and will definitly come back.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto maintenance

I had been trying for almost 3 weeks to get my windshield replaced with Safelite, after talking on the phone with these guys once they had my new windshield there that night and installed the next morning! I accidentally put gas in my Diesel at BP and I was far from home. I only wanted a tow from this company but Jason the driver said that his shop could take care of it right away, quoted me a price and it was a great price which never happens in this situation. All the staff were very friendly and they got me back on the road fast.Thank you so much to all of you for everything you did for me that day, my 1100 mile trip home went flawless thanks to you!

This review is long over-due, but for anyone in the Gainesville Area (especially college students) I HIGHLY recommend Dad s. I ve been on 3 separate occasions, the first time because my car was overheating, the second for a window motor malfunction, and the third for a check engine light diagnostic. My first time there I brought my car in not knowing how long my car would be there, and I had class later in the day. The repair was taking some time so one of the workers gave me a ride back to campus so I could make it to class on time (like, how considerate is that??). He told me he had a daughter around my age and treated his clients like he d want someone to treat his daughter. The prices were very reasonable (and that s a lot coming from a college student); at the dealership I was going to be charged 600+ for parts and labor, Dad s only charged me 200. The other visits were equally as great and the staff truly cares about its customers. It s so comforting knowing I have a reliable mechanic for while I m temporarily in Gainesville during these years, and I would recommend anyone looking for an honest, hardworking mechanic to visit Dad s (not a paid advertisement haha, I just love this place!)Services: Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic

I lucked up and had my truck towed to Dad's Auto 4 years ago right after I moved to Gainesville as a college student. They treated me fair, were not over-priced, got it working quickly, and were very friendly. Ever since then, I've had the same experience. Best auto MECHANICS I've ever come across in Gn'v ,Fl ever ! THEY saved me a boatload of money in not PRETENDING to fix things that don't need FIXING! ! THEY practice the best advice I'd ever gotten from an old hardware salesman yrs ago ( if it ain't broke don't mess with it ) ! Great prices, service, and people. I was skeptical at first but they fixed my car within one day at a fraction of the cost other shops quoted me. Would highly recommend and will be returning in the future.

I just left dad's auto repair, and I'm so thankful for them! I got an oil change somewhere else about a week ago and shortly after my car started making some really concerning noises. I pulled in to have Dad's take a look, we drove it around, they checked the engine and found that the company that changed my oil left the oil cap off and I was out of oil! They fixed it and just charged me for the new oil. they are a great group of professionals... and the oil changes there are cheaper, too! I'll be back.

This place is the best shop in town. The only place I could take any of my vehicles to and know it will be done right. They were even able to fix other problems with my truck that another local shop broke while "fixing it" last time. Hands down best team.

Huge thanks to Dad's Auto Repair, Duane McMahan, Josh Martin, and Mike Martin and team for coming through once again. My water pump went out on my truck and I needed it turned around quick before the weekend. They knocked it and saved me time and money! Whether its your daily driver or your antique show car, Dad's Auto is the one stop shop that will take care of your ride.

They told me I had water in my gas and sent me on my way. Same problem happened took it to another shop and it turns out it's a bad fuel pump. Nice people but they're a little busy to diagnose my problem.

As a female, I've had multiple mechanics in Gainesville try to pressure me into unnecessary upgrades or "preventative" services. But Dad's Auto has always been honest, fair, and reasonable with me. Highly recommend!
