My experience with All Star was amazing! I called, scheduled an appointment, and brought my car in within a couple days of it acting up. When I arrived the guys were all super polite and understanding!! Special shoutout to George, he was able to give me an estimate just a couple hours after I brought the car in (even though there were a few cars ahead of mine) and then got all the parts for my repair and had it done a couple hours later. Having an automotive service that is quick, easy, and affordable is hard to find!! 10/10 recommend All-Star Automotive!!

Had a great experience bringing my 2002 Miata here. I was in the area for a month for work and needed to take my car somewhere for a quick oil change and inspection since I had a long drive ahead of me.Not only was the service amazing (and very reasonably priced), Steve is amazing! We had a great time talking about different cars and Gainesville in general. While this isn t a Miata-specific shop, I would highly recommend. These guys know what they re doing. It also helps that one of the guys who works there has his own Mazdaspeed. If I was ever in Gainesville again, I would absolutely bring my car back here.

One of the most honest and stand-up mechanics I have ever met. This is the first place I'll take my car when anything goes wrong. They specialize in Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus, but will do most of your typical maintenance on a variety of brands. They don't do everything, but will always refer you to a reputable and honest place in town when you need something they don't do. I have recommended them to a bunch of other people and I have not heard anything but good things about the experiences others have had.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance

So a little good comes out of some strange times. My son's 06 Honda Accord started having a cooling issue. UF parents group recommended this place, very glad I took the advice. Steve was nice to deal with on the phone, he explained that he only likes to work on Toyota, Honda and I think Acura so he'd definitely be able to help. His tech figured out that the only thing wrong was a faulty radiator cap. He put a new one on and filled the system and said he didn't even need to charge us anything, that he doesn't sweat the small stuff. I was shocked, he was more worried about me getting my son some new tires because they were so bald and worried for his safety. From my experience Steve is a class act human being, its just not everyday that a person would be so generous or willing to help and even care about other things. If you have a Honda, Toyota or Acura and need some auto work done, its worth your time to talk to Steve. Ps went same day and got my son some new tires, thanks Steve

Left my car at this shop to fix the back breaks. Found out later that the break rotors weren't changed; the rotors are worn out and rusty. I mentioned my concern about the breaks before I left the car at the shop. Now, I have to change the rotors. I was disappointed with them that I fully trusted this auto shop. But the outcome was bad.

Easily the best mechanic in town. Had to get my car towed over here - Steve didn't charge me to take a look at the car, found the issue, and had me out and running the next day. Excellent service, great people. Won't use anyone else in Gainesville.

I purchased a car that needed some motor mounts. Not to mention some other problems that were poorly fixed. All Star Automotive was quick straight forward and too the point. Mounts were replaced and they even tighten and secured some other parts the previous owner had done. Price was reasonable compared to dealers and chain shops. He even noted some other issues that will need repair soon. It's nice to know there are still good auto shops out there. I will be back for sure.

It is nearly impossible to find a decent mechanic these days, let alone a great one, but All-Star Automotive has never once let me or my fianc� down. We had an older car the needed a repair almost twice a month! I am so happy that we had him and his team close by every time we needed him! They have hooked us up more than once and always give us a very fair deal and great customer service. I don t ever feel like I am being taken advantage of. My fianc� took his car to another repair shop in Orlando, but we wanted a second opinion. Steve told us that the other mechanic was definitely trying to take advantage of us. What would have cost $1200 only cost about $200 with Steve, and the car is running great! The only service he doesn t provide is tire repair/ replacement. He even recommended going to Discount Tires on 3003 SW 34th street which worked out perfectly! 10/10 service all around. Please give him a call the next time you need a car repair!

I do not usually write reviews, but my experience at All-Star Automotive was exceptional at the least. I brought my old 2001 Hyundai in for all of my motor mounts to be replaced and an inspection. Steve was kind and honest, which is rare in business in this day and age; especially with auto repair. Not only did Steve's prices beat quotes from local companies such as Auto ER and Tire's Plus, he offers a student discount, which really sweetens the deal.I don't like spending money to fix my car, same as everyone else, but I will spend it at Steve's location. He even gave me advice for my next car.

Came in with a battery issue without calling ahead, left 30 minutes later with a completely fixed car. Huge shoutout to Steve and George for being so kind, helpful, and not charging me due to the simplicity of the repair. I come from a family with a mechanical background and do a lot of mid-level work myself. But with our daughter away at school, it just made sense for her to get her car fixed before riding home. Based on reviews, I told her to go to All-Star Automotive and see how it goes. My dad ran his own repair shop for 45 years and gained a reputation of being fair with integrity.Steve helped my daughter with her Mazda last week and quickly diagnosed a problem with her front bearing. After a few days, she was on her way with what I thought was a fair price. A few days later, she found additional problems and feared that the other bearing might be going out as well. I told her to take the car back and explain what she is seeing.It turned out that there was a problem with the repair and they replaced any damaged parts and fixed the problem at no charge. I told my daughter that is exactly how her grandpa would have handled the situation.Service: Auto maintenance

One of the most challenging things about moving to a new area can be something you think little about until your car needs help. Finding a honest mechanic shop isn't easy. I had my car lowered by another shop which left a lot to be desired. After getting quotes from Auto ER for $378 and advance automotive for $243 both for misleading repairs such as a cracked top mount for the suspension assembly, I found this great shop. They got me in early and by the afternoon got a call to come pick up my fixed car at no cost. A simple wheel tightening and a stabilizer bar link tightening was all it needed! Wow, what a honest place I highly recommend going to this shop for peace of mind knowing anything you are charged is legitimate and not a money making scheme. Thanks so much All-Star Automotive I was at my wits end and so frustrated you made my week!

Steve was super nice, so sweet! I went in not knowing what the issue was but I had an idea. He said I just needed oil and to come back in 1 month to double check the oil levels (I went through my most recent oil change pretty fast). Great price, great guy. On a roadtrip, our alternator died in the evening and a friend recommended All Star. I called first thing in the morning (a Friday) and brought the car in. Steve had to order the alternator from Jacksonville, and had it installed by 2pm the same day. Incredible same-day service in an emergency! Honest about the timeline and costs. Highly recommend Steve & All Star Automotive! He was able to service my car and have it back to me within 24 hours and was very kind and honest. Another mechanic in the area wanted over double the price that Steve charged me, he was very honest and transparent. All-Star's repair and maintenance work is top-notch and affordable. Josh worked on our Jeep today (Friday morning) and replaced our 3rd brake light in about 30 minutes! Excellent customer service from Steve, All-Star's owner. Always a delight to visit these guys. Honest pricing for honest work. Amazing! Steve is a really honest, stand-up guy. He helped me after a chain car place quoted me $1900 for 1 coil that wasn't working; Steve charged me $228 for the same job (and gave me a UF discount). Truly, he will help you and will not take advantage of you; he's great guy. Steve with All Star Automotive is the BEST!! I called from out of state looking for help with my daughter s car (UF student) and he was kind enough to get her in right away. He helped fix a problem with her old BMW that multiple garages had not been able to resolve for 2 years! His communication with both of us was fabulous! He treated my daughter like family and we feel so lucky to have found his shop, We highly recommend Steve and All Star Automotive!

I cannot recommend All-Star Automotive more highly. Steve was extremely patient with all of my questions and explained everything thoroughly �he even took photos during the repair process so that he could show me exactly what was wrong. He fixed a small issue with my brakes for free, and the prices for an oil change and a window that was stuck down were extremely reasonable as well. We were so fortunate to find All-Star Automotive. Steve Pruitt and his team saved the day. We were on a road trip traveling from Atlanta and had a car issue. I called All-Star late on a Friday, and Steve made space for my car on Monday morning. His mechanics diagnosed my car for free and fixed a minor issue (that was caused by another auto-shop) also free of charge! Great to have the peace of mind that my car is ready for a long road trip and that it was really the other shop that caused my check engine to come on. Highly recommend especially for college students! The local Mazda dealer (Davis) wanted to charge my son a high diagnostic fee even though I already knew what the problem was (under cover was loose). I sent my son to All-Star Automotive on a Friday morning and they took him right in, diagnosed and fixed the issue for a fraction of the cost. In my experience, honest auto mechanics are hard to find, especially when dealing with vulnerable, naive college students. But this is one of the honest ones. I got my brake lines replaced here after they rusted and started leaking brake fluid. Steve is very friendly and knowledgeable, and not at all pushy like some other mechanics (in fact, he recommended that I look into buying another car rather than paying him to fix up my current vehicle). I was also very impressed by his staff's covid precautions: everyone was wearing a mask while interacting with customers, the man who moved my car was wearing disposable gloves, and Steve gave me clorox wipes to clean my steering wheel when I picked up my car. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience with Steve. I was sure I needed a new alternator (which would have run me $500 at least) and I was looking for someone to install it for cheap. Steve looked over my vehicle and very kindly informed me that all I needed was a new battery, which was more around the $100-$150 mark. He very easily could have taken advantage of my ignorance and made a quick buck, but he did the honest thing instead. All-Star has my business till the day I graduate. Great place.

Steve, the owner of All-Star, gives great customer service and always provides accurate quotes for their work. My wife and I were worried that we wouldn't be able to find anyone to take care of our cars. Always happy with their work. Highly recommend this spot for non-dealer auto service

I would just say I recommend with getting a second opinion before getting your car worked on by them. I went in and they told me I needed a new pump and that they needed to fix my brakes immediately. They told me my car was dangerous to drive with the brakes so I was pretty nervous. They also told me I needed new tires and I should go to a tire shop to get them. Well anyways I went to the tire shop and they took one glance and said my tires were really good and that I don t need new ones for awhile. Then I decided to check with a friend who does car work and found out that my water pump is good and the belt just needed replaced. Then found out my brakes are totally okay! Steve would of charged me alotttt of money for things that really didn t need to be fixed. And I know for a fact they didn t need to be fixed because I ve gone many long road trips and seen several mechanics and it s been more then a year since then.
