This location has been nothing short of amazing and professional from the technicians to the front office staff. The technician sat down with me to explain what was going on with my car in detail with no pressure whatsoever. Scott stayed in touch with me from the moment I dropped the car off to the moment I picked it up. When I ran into an issue while traveling, he went out of his way to help me get to the closest AAMCO in the area and stayed on top of things to ensure I was taken care of. Getting a car repaired is always going to be stressful but I ll say everyone here did such an outstanding job at making the process as smooth and painless as possible. I cant recommend them enough

My 2013 Fiat 500 with a manual transmission recently experienced clutch issues, and when I searched on Google for a repair shop in Gainesville, I immediately found AAMCO s listing. It s a business name I ve known and trusted for decades, and they ve lived up to their reputation once again. I received prompt courteous service from manager Scott Arnold as soon as I called, and that great service continued when I brought the car to them for a free estimate. They tested multiple items to pinpoint the problem, and gave me a reasonable, conservative estimate of the repair cost, which ended up exactly matching the estimate when the repair was completed. Scott will be following up with me after a week and again after a month to be sure that there are no remaining issues to be addressed. I m very satisfied with my experience and highly recommend this shop.

Got to deal with Scott Arnold this morning. He was professional, thorough, and patient with explaining to me the various service pros and cons and results of my inspection. After having an unpleasant experience the night before at the local dealership, it was a breath of fresh air to have my trust and confidence restored. I definitely would recommend anyone to take their vehicle to this local AAMCO branch. Scott really seemsto know his stuff and went above and beyond meeting my expectations

AAMCO just finished up my truck and must say they did a great job. They were upfront and very informative from the very beginning. All through the job they stayed in contact and let me know everything that was being done through the process. Thank you AAMCO for the help getting my truck back on the road and running better than it ever has.

I would definitely not go here for any car care, not even to wash my windshield, first they're very unprofessional and unorganized, when they say free evaluation better make sure it's a job they want to do or they tell you we're to busy for your needs. 2 hours of evaluation turned into 2 hours of waiting for the technician and 5 minutes of evaluation, and when I questioned Scott, first he's rude, then doesn't listen, then tells you oh no no it's this way, although on the phone when trying to get my business, it's that way, find another place maybe Tommy's next door would be better, DON'T GO HERE

I would never recommend taking a vehicle here for repairs. After my experience there. I took my truck thinking I was making a good decision unfortunately it was not. I was lied to on several occasions, took months to get vehicle back then the day I got it I had to take it back to AAMCO because it was not right. Then after a long period I finally get it back only to find out it still was not in right working order. I took it back again only to be told well that's it and warranty is up so there u go. What a horrible experience I feel as though I was done very wrong. After reading reviews I see I was not the only one. But I hope anyone thinking of taking their vehicle here for repairs will read reviews first. This was the worst service I have ever gotten anywhere... I would think that if the Owner of the business was going to reply to a Review at least he should be Honest and accurate. But this is for sure not the case in this situation....Service: Transmission

I had to replace the transmission in my car last month. Somebody recommended Aamco, and I'm glad they did! Scott was upfront about the potential price and sent us some financing options that really helped take the sting out of the situation.Some warning lights came on after the transmission replacement, so I took the car into a PepBoys to figure out what was going on. In hindsight, I should have just taken it back to Aamco. PepBoys charged me $120 just to diagnose the problem, then wanted to charge me another $400+ to tighten some bolts and replace a pressure switch. Luckily, I decided to take it back to Aamco at that point, and Scott didn't charge me anything for the work they did! I'm very happy with Aamco and highly recommend them!

I took my 2004 BMW in year ago for service and EJ the service manager and the Tech Team made sure I was taken care of, it's been a year now and my car still smooth. Thank you for the cold drinks.

Employees at this location are trained and have strong product knowledge, and are always looking out in the best interest of the customer. Because of the relationships they have with part vendors, they are always look for the most economical solution to better help customers. They recommend services and repairs based off a thorough car inspection, and offer options, to allow the customer to make an educated decision on what they would like done and they work within the budget of the customer. Also providing financing options, through third parties. If you decide to or not go with the services suggested, you have a solid understanding of it what was causing the issue that was causing the problem, and the reason you took your car in.

Worst shop in Gainesville, Will tell you that you need a new transmission to make more money off you, yet after going to two other shops for second opinions, both diagnosed and gave estimates for less then $800 to repair it instead of replacing it.

As a college student dealing with car issues on their own, AAMCO was extremely helpful in getting me the most affordable price in rebuilding my transmission. Had a poor experience with another automotive service that led me to come here. Ash took the time to listen with compassion and give me sage advice on what they could do for my particular vehicle issue. She kept in contact with me during the process and was honest about the delivering of the parts. To which picking up the vehicle told Mike about the whole experience and he took the time to go with us to the vehicle and even drive it when my son has some concerns. Taking the time to be professional and use some wonderful customer service skills is a rare find. I would definitely recommend this location.

This place is a nightmare. If the so called manager would keep the customer informed they may not have had my truck for 5 months. The first transmission the bell housing was cracked it was installed anyway. Did the company send it that way I think not. Oh your drive shaft is broke that's why it cracked, NOPE, the edge of the clip was broken. 6 months and 6000 dollars later I have my truck. Avoid this place like the plague.

This place has no waiting room for customers to sit in while their vehicle is being looked at or worked on. Just like any chain store they beef up the repair quote trying to make as much off the customer rather than being honest and gaining a repeat customer. I wouldn't use them and recommend you don't either..Instead, I went to Bills discount transmission and auto repair and found an honest shop.

I have had numerous experiences with auto shops. When I called Amoco and spoke with Ricky I was taken care of quickly. Within a few hours my vehicle was being repaired. I was given excellent service and a very fair price.Ricky is an impressive company representative. He thoroughly explained the trouble with my vehicle, the repairs required, the warranty Amoco offered and cost breakdown.I will continue to use Amoco and definitely recommend the company to friends.

I had a horrible time with this manager . He was not truthful about the expensive $8400 custom ordered transmission. Each time we talked a new amountsl was added. They are not specialist as advertised. The customer service with the manager position was subpar the least.

" I went in about 6 months ago and had my car serviced and was told all the work that I need. It was out of my budget, but after speaking with the staff and having been explained to me the need to have the work done to prevent future damage, I obliged and was able to get Easy financing. I am so glad that Mike took the time to explain to me, and I was able to actually get it done, he understood my financial situation and offered me the most affordable option. I checked around and found out that the work these guys did would have cost me $1,000's more then I was actually charged at AAMCO. Thanks Mike and the rest of the knowledgeable staff there. I wish I could this place zero stars. I took my car to this place SCOTT(the manger) told me I need a transmission. Which I did not need. AAMCO is a scam!!!

Im leaving a 1 star review simply for the fact that the service manager Scott CONSTANTLY talks over you anytime you try to get a word in. This is very rude, and possibly the worst customer service i ve ever had to deal with. I m also currently walking 3 miles home because he doesn t communicate accurate service times. Very combative company, as you can see by the responses to previous poor reviews. I should ve listened to Bill s Transmissions when he warned me about coming here.Service: Transmission

Mike and the rest of the crew at AAMCO are fantastic! He went out of his way to work out a price I could afford. Extremely courteous, professional, and upfront about my cars repairs (my car needed a LOT!). Mike really cares about his customers. For the first time in almost a year I finally have a fully working vehicle. I definitely recommend!Services: Tires, Brakes

Came to AAMCO for a broken flex plate a couple days ago. I ask for them to do a diagnostic to make sure that s what was wrong, diagnostic was free. Next day I speak with Ricky and he lets me know that they confirmed the flex plate is an issue, and they want to take the transmission off (at cost) to find out why, and to eventually fix it. I gave my permission for that, and by morning today they had an answer for me. My engine itself is broken and I ll have to get a new one. Since I ve saw the other reviews made today about them up selling things that don t need to happen, I asked if my uncle could come and see it and they allowed for my uncle to come and take a look at it, and took time to show and discuss with him everything wrong with the car. He s a retired mechanic, was working for 35 years, and he affirmed that everything they had quoted me was completely truthful and MORE than fair with pricing, so do NOT go by their bad reviews.They ve been very understanding and kind with my situation, I decided it s more worth it to go buy a new car since mine is 16 years old but if I had decided to put a new motor in I wouldn t go to anyone but them. Definitely recommend their services.Only reason I gave 4 stars is because I got towed to AAMCO using a towing service they work with, and the tow truck driver was racist, and mocking towards disabled individuals. The ride was very uncomfortable.

These are very nice people and great mechanics. I've had a few things done here on my family's cars. They are always honest about what is or is not wrong with your car. The employees are friendly and responsive, and their rates are very reasonable.

I have called 3 times and I have been told call back later I'm not near a computer called again no answer, went to voicemail and still no response. OK I'm going to update my review. Eddie and I spoke on the phone and his information was very helpful I will be taking my truck there when I get a chance. Thanks Eddie for the honesty. So update they are now telling me that my warranty is no good and I have to fix it because of codes. That is not in the warranty paperwork. They have my truck now and this is bad customer service. I have my truck back and it had very low oil when I got it back. Aamco customer service isn't picking up the phone I have call 3 or 4 times a day trying to get answers. Aamco in Gainesville Florida is a horrible place to take your vehicle they will steal from you as well as flimsy flam you about your vehicle. They stole my jumper cables and back pack out of my truck. The corporation said I am owed compensation but now they don't answer the phone.Service: Transmission

Exceptional customer service. Mike and his crew at AAMCO are all you can ask for in an auto repair facility. We originally had them replace the clutch in our car. During the process there were some other items that came up as sometimes happens on a car with 200k miles. All the additions were run past me first and well documented. Turns out the new clutch was defective, so they swapped it out at no cost. 2 weeks later our transmission went out. They helped us find a deal on a used one and gave us a discounted rate on installation. If you're looking for a solid mechanic in Gainesville FL, give these guys a call. Can't recommend them highly enough.

If you're looking for a place that is honest, professional, friendly, and has integrity, then look no further. John Sherman and his staff at AAMCO is amazing. We had an issue with my daughter's Transmission that had been replaced by another AAMCO facility in South Florida, that was under warranty, and he went above and beyond the pale to make sure that our issue was resolved and in as quick a time as possible. He took the extra time and attention to assist us with a problem we didn't even know how or where to get it fully handled. We are so grateful that he did the right thing! All staff persons we dealt with during our time with them was great. They were all courteous, friendly and helpful. John, Mike (I believe there are 2 Mikes) all did their very best for us. Thank you guys! You have earned our trust and our business. I didn't know they did all kinds of automotive work, but we'll be taking our daughter's car to them from here on in. Thanks, again gentlemen and keep up the good work!!
