John and his staff were so helpful with a low tire! They fixed that tire. Then we decided I needed new tires. He ordered them and installed them a few days later. Great service and price! I will return!

I reached out to John via email after receiving a questionable quote for brake work on my college student's car. I'm located in Illinois and the vehicle is in Florida. I sent an initial email requesting a quote. John's response was near immediate and the quote was detailed and thorough. We scheduled a time to have the brakes looked at. Come to find that what was actually needed was less than the questionable quote and that the vehicle was safe enough to take a mid-distance trip prior to repair. We scheduled a return time to make the repair and it was completed on time and as quoted. While it's impressive to find an honest shop, it's even more so to have such a level of communication via email and feel safe to send an inexperienced college student to handle the repair. Truthfully, John feels like family. If you have an FGCU student and need car repairs, go see John and team. They will take care of you!

Tried to charge me $500 for an AC recharge because I had more expensive freon. Called from the business I work at, and they only quoted them $250. Be careful here if you are a young female they take advantage of you!

We have been in town for three years and have never once had any issues. The service here is fantastic, they always go above and beyond. I came in at 4:30 with a tire down and they took care of it right away. This is the place you go to when you think the other places are ripping you off. Always honest, always friendly.

I wouldn't keep coming back to South Trail if they weren't the best service garage in the area. Had a problem with all manner of idiot lights going on in the dash. The shop found the problem, a declining battery. A battery replacement and oil change provided me with new peace of mind.

We took our Jeep here based on a recommendation from a friend who has been taking her car here for a few years. We needed a few things fixed on the car, as it is close to 100k miles. Luckily they were able to take our Jeep in right away. We were pleased the work didn t take more than a day. The communication with the service technician was great and they were very responsive, sending us updates and photos through the repair process. We had a great experience here and will certainly be taking our cars here for future needs.

This is my go to shop! I know I m getting just what I need and never pushed into anything I don t. 3 generations of my family trusts our cars here. Always straight forward and honest and they communicate very well about your vehicle. I even relocated to St. Pete and prefer to take my car when I m in town two hours away then bring it to a new spot. Can t beat a trustworthy throughout mechanic! 10 out of 10

Everyone there is friendly! They stand by their work, and help me with anything that I may need for my car! They listen to any concerns I have when it comes to taking care of my car as well! I recommend this place highly and I am sending as many people as I can to them they may need a bigger place!

Excellent and speedy service. I dropped off my Tesla at 8pm on a Thursday after getting a flat tire. By 9am the next day, I got a call letting me know my car was ready for pickup.

South Trail Tire & Auto RepairWent above and beyond!We had an emergency fuel line repair that needed to be fixed. We asked for recommendations from family and friends and they all pointed us here. The owner and staff were incredible! They got us in quickly and worked dilligently to get us running again. We are incredibly grateful that they went the extra mile and discovered that not only did we need a fuel line repair, but that there was a ton of gas in our fuel tank. I cannot begin to imagine the repairs that would have been needed had that been missed. Communication was great and we will definitely be back. Thank you!

I've been spoiled for years having a friend's shop take care of all my car needs. Finally, an honest repair shop with reasonable pricing!The service is accomplished by the promised time by expert service individuals. If you can make an appointment ahead of time, they will do everything to ensure speedy turnaround.These guys are the best! They take great care of my 2010 Dodge Avenger that has almost 180k miles! Honest, quick & easy to work with.They always suggest the best for their customers. Never price gouge & deliver on their promises.Update: January 2024. Another great service job! A "stuck" alternator caused the serpentine belt to split & fly off.Mike showed me exactly what happened & I appreciated the details he shared. Work was performed quickly without overcharging.Trust John, Mitch & crew with any repairs you may need. Avenger now over 182k & going strong thanks to South Trail!

I called up to see if I could get my van in to have a trailer hitch installed. Mitch got me an appointment within a few days. When I got there to have the hitch installed I met the owner John who checked me in. After my van was on the lift for a few minutes, John came to me and indicated that there was a problem with the trailer hitch. He asked if I wanted to go out to the shop to see the issue. I discussed the problem with Chad and we determined that with an adjustment they could resolve the issue. John and Chad were excellent in providing me options. They were able to get the hitch installed to my complete satisfaction. I am new to the area and really appreciate the way this shop does business. It is the local mechanic that you can trust. I want to amend a negative review I wrote on this business. The 1st and 2nd times I took my car there, my experience in terms of the repair and costs, was not satisfactory. However, I have to admit that after taking my car again and again, they kept looking to find what was wrong and did not charge more. At all times, John was responsible, professional and friendly. I picked up my car today and it seems is working fine. I respect John for doing what was right for a customer in this type of situations.Service: Air conditioning

John and his team are fantastic. Our auto only has 36,000 miles on it, still under warranty. We could not drive over 35 mph due to the shaking of the front end. The dealership scheduled an appointment 2 weeks out just to inspect the vehicle. Another shop told us it would cost over $2,000 for front end work. John inspected the vehicle and determined it was the tires. Johns team replace the 4 tires and did an alignment the same day (not 2 weeks later thank you Mr. Car Dealer) and we were out the door under $800.00. The car runs perfectly like when it was NEW. I can not thank Jon and his Team at South Trail Tire and Auto enough. When you visit John shop you can tell once you walk in what kind of guy he is by all the community involvement they support they give back.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment

Mitch and staff are very knowledgeable and forthcoming with servicing our vehicles. For over 2 years, our regular maintenance and repairs have been completed on time and with no surprises. We recommend giving them a try. We had a Jeep Renegade and now a Ford Explorer.

The guys at South Trail are what you've always been looking for in service technicians. Proficient, reliable, honest. I could go on and on... My wife needed four new tires for her car. I went and saw Jon who ordered them got them in quickly and got them put on in record time. I even told him to charge me for an alignment and when he checked the alignment, he said it was right on and didn t need it. I m a snowbird at Jamaica Bay. Just needed a quick oil change before heading back north. Friend recommended South Trail. Dropped in unannounced and was given an appointment for the next day, as all mechanics and lifts were totally busy. NO PROBLEM.Showed up next day, was promptly looked after and charged fairly for my synthetic oil change on my Chrysler Aspen.Coming from a long line of mechanics, I was able to evaluate the level and quality of service, just by watching and observing the goings on in the shop. Everybody was doing their task efficiently, no dilly- dallying like dealership mechanics do, no one on their cellphones ( charging shop hours to customers. ) No trying to upsell or find unnecessary problems. Most rewarding of all, I was actually able to ask the mechanic a question right as he worked on my car, unlike other places that treat the shop as a sterile , E.R.,barring customers from the shop. Also,I was also able to discuss a mysterious problem regarding my car with the owner, John, who actually was knowledgeable regarding my problem issue, where dealerships were ignorant.Overall, a very fair , efficient shop with very knowledgeable people. What more can you ask for in this day and age. Will most definitely be back , and recommend to other friends.P.S got a thank you letter from the owner for being a new customer nice .makes me feel more than just an accounts receivable ..uniquely nice these days Service: Oil change

John & Mitch are great guys! I recently purchased a new to me high performance Mustang. They inspected the car completely, presented me with items that needed attention, serviced the car and treated me fairly. I watched the Service Tech from start to finish and he was precise and diligent as he moved around, under, and in the car. John is a Tire Guru who found me hard to get tires at a very fair price.
