Location was ideal for our reason for being in the area, but, unfortunately, the LaQuinta experience left us unimpressed. We were there for four nights and five days. Our room was never formally cleaned, our bed was never made, we often needed to ask the front desk for additional towels so we could both shower. Shampoo was never restocked either. I even had to make a trip to the front desk to request toilet paper. Floors were filthy. In-room coffee was not restocked. We were in a king accessible room, the pictures displayed in no way represented our bathroom. The complimentary breakfast paled in comparison to Hampton Inn's a half-mile up the road. It was a convenient place to sleep. Beyond that, we were very under whelmed.

Let me start by saying I don t do negative reviews but this one was just wrong. We stayed one night here in room 229. We got in at midnight and the room smelled like raw sewage. I called immediately and the front desk told me they would put a note in for the manager in the morning. That didn t do anything for the problem but I was exhausted, due to delays arriving it was midnight, and I just needed to get my family some sleep before a doctors visit the next day that we had traveled for for our daughter. When I get to the front desk in the morning I waited until there wasn t a single customer there to hear me, and I very politely told them that the room smelled awful and something was very wrong. He gaslit me like I was trying to get a free room and didn t even so much as acknowledge what I was trying to let them know, and said I should have switched rooms if there was a problem. Something that wasn t even offered to me when I called down at midnight. He gloated telling me he was Bill, the main manager when I asked him for his name. I actually was really sad when I got in the car because I hadn t seen that level of grossness in a person in a while, let alone from someone in a customer service position, and my husband reminded me to not let people steal your joy. But that manager at the front was terrible. I only expected him to react accordingly. It was disheartening to feel as though my feedback was not taken seriously. I believe that a more receptive and proactive approach to guest concerns can greatly enhance the overall experience, that and the room not smelling strongly of a port o potty.Update: the response from the hotel in writing here should be noted as completely empty words and just for something that someone reading bad reviews about the place can see a response from the business. They did not care at all, or take the feedback into consideration, let alone take it seriously. I am truly holding back the full descriptions of the conditions of this hotel, and the manager Bill, possibly the William who responded, was horrible when I spoke with him in the morning about the issue of the unsanitary conditions of the room. This hotel does not want your feedback. Why add the phone number when we spoke face to face already? They have my number.

I stayed here back in November and forgot to write the review I was just thinking about all of the wonderful people that took such great care of me the nine days I stayed. I was sick for the first week and everybody was wonderful and left me to myself as I asked... cuz I'm very cranky when I'm sick lol. But the girls made sure I had everything I needed. I would like to shout out Ashley, Maxine, Rich, Rae, Jessica, Joann, Gina, Dayna, Camila, Gabriel, and Cheryl.... you all went above and beyond to make sure I was okay, thank you all!! you all rock!!My room was clean, towels were fresh everyday, all staff were completely professional and so kind.Breakfast was always amazing, fresh, hot, and delicious . I had a marvelous view overlooking the pool. And not one time did I encounter any negativity or something like that I didn't like about staying here. I loved the hotel and I love you all! I will be back for sure someday! Keep up the great work... my blessings to you all! thank you all, again, so much

We had a great time. Pool is massive and heated, breakfast was nothing special, but they do have 2 hot items (ex. Bacon and Eggs) and waffles, along with yogurt, and cereal. Fitness center has 2 treadmills out of order with no apparent plan to repair them, but overall, it is a great place to stay if you want someplace less touristy.Nearby activities: Really nice beach, within a mile walk. Grocery store and restaurants a short walk away.Walkability: Really nice beach, within a mile walk. Grocery store and restaurants a short walk away.

The location was great. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Phone and coffeemaker in room didn't work. Breakfast service really ended 15 minutes before the stated time.Safety: We felt safe in the lodgings.

Stood here a few days ago and was not impressed with the cleanliness of the room but I decided to still give it a try. Always go with your first instinct, I had to leave at almost midnight with my daughter because there were roaches. They asked me if I wanted another room but I declined. I spoke with a manager trying to rectify the situation and I was told that since no one else complained of roaches I was not able to get a refund. I will NEVER stay at this place again.

Went to my room found roaches and I immediately went down to the office. I spoke with Chris who didn t try to fix the problem. I requested a refund and was told I have to wait til Monday to speak to the manager. I finally got ahold of the manager bill. Bill was very rude and proceeded to tell me that there was no roaches in the room and that I never went to the office and I never showed any videos. Instead of trying to fix the issue he just gaslighted me and kept telling me what I didn t do. He went in circles with the same answer every time. Bill was very unprofessional.

Had to empty my own trash and ask the front desk for towels. The staff kept skipping my room. Elevator broke and stairs taped off. No fresh fruit or yogurt at breakfast. 70% empty, but still dirty, dingy, run down. Loud A/C vent.Nearby activities: Near Sanibel

Our first room had roaches, our second room was occupied, our third room smelled like mold. We found a nice room at the Hampton Inn 9 miles away. La Quinta should be ashamed of their product. It was emberrasing for us as guests to see the staff had to work in these conditions. Clearly there is no management at this location. We will always tell our amazing horror story to anyone in hopes they never have the same experience.

While a lot of reviews state they had bad experiences, we did not. Hurricane Ian impacted this location, and based on previous reviews, most all of the rooms have been renovated, along with the pool and hot tub. Our bed was comfortable and clean - no bugs or sign bugs anywhere. (Believe me, I would've left immediately had I saw bugs!) The pool was clean and inviting. The only issue we experienced was our sink not draining properly due to how the plumbing was installed. We reported the issue to the front desk in which they offered to move us to another room if repairs weren't successful. Repair wasn't completely successful, but we weren't in our room enough to use the sink very frequently. If I were on a smaller budget and needed a place to rest, I'd plan another stay at tgis location.

The good thing about this location is the staff. The front desk staff was very polite, friendly and professional. They were amazing during the stay. The room, not so much. There was a fairly large stain on the side of the mattress, the carpet was dirty, the room had a musty odor about it which we figured may have been due to the water damage the hotel suffered during hurricane Ian. The entire first floor was being repaired/renovated during our stay. The elevator buttons were obviously in need of attention as it was difficult to get them to make a connection. The lights on either side of the bed were inoperable and the room phone was not working. Overall it is not worth the price.

This hotel shouldn't be open. I understand they are still recovering from Hurricane Ian, but...the roaches own this place. The front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly (can't emphasize this enough). We went upstairs to our room after a long drive and saw a roach on the wall, and as soon as we pulled a corner of the bedsheet back...roach. Closer inspection revealed the place was infested. The girl at the front desk was again super helpful and placed us in a different room. Unfortunately, it was the same story there. This place needs to shut down for a brief spell and immediately address this issue. Also, it would have been nice to recover the reservation fee (generally non-refundable), but it appears that won't happen. Under normal circumstances, I would understand, but you couldn't pay me to stay here. Sorry, I just don't want to share a bed with cockroaches.

The room had roaches. The bathroom has hairs in it like it wasn't cleaned well enough. The AC didn't blow out that cold. The pool was as hot as the ocean. Some elevators worked but not all. The ice machine on some floors wasn't working.Nearby activities: Bunche Beach was down the road hotel was on. And Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach were minutes away.

The staff especially Adriana as well as the manager were helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We were disappointed that the pool was not open but we knew that when we booked it. The manager promptly replaced the dehumidifier that wasn't working. The breakfast was mediocre and didn't include decaf coffee. The external door to the room #350 was not plumb allowing daylight in the room. The room was poorly lit. All in all it was a nice stay.Noteworthy details: Conveniently located short drive away from stores, restaurants and the Sanibel Causeway.

Many people have given this place the thumbs down. We found our room to be comfortable and clean. The area and building are recovering from Hurricane Ian. Breakfast was well stocked and ready every morning. No complaints:)Rooms: Clean and comfortable

Pool is not fixed yet post hurricane, most 1 st floor rooms were still being renovated, we stayed on the 3 rd floor and the room was clean and nice. Elevators worked and the stairs were covered.5* for post hurricane recovery efforts, it will take time to be back to normal but we enjoyed the hotel and the local restaurants and beaches.

Don't sign the waiver before you've been in the assigned room!We booked this hotel a few days before staying. On their website they mention that some amenities aren't available. They don't specify this.It was kind of strange that upon checking in a waiver must be signed by all guest. They informed us that the pool and breakfast wasn't available. I wasn't too happy about the breakfast but it was only one night so I accepted that. The whole ground floor was under construction due to the hurricane.Once in our room a mouldy smell and high humidity came upon us. We thought it was because of the hurricane damage. But older reviews mention the smell before thatThey had set up a small humidifier but it already had a full tank.We tried to open the windows to let in some fresh air but they where blocked. Instead we opened the room door. But after a short while we decided that we didn't want to stay in this unhealthy room.At first they didn't wanted to let us cancel without losing our money. Because we signed the waiver. We said that we didn't agree to stay in a smelly room. Finally they gave us 10 minutes to leave to room and cancel. No apology or what so ever.Only your all set.No alternatives where offered and we were on our own to find another hotel. We've lost a lot of precious vacation time with this.We do understand the struggle but do inform people before booking in which state the hotel is and don't show there's breakfast if it isn't possible to offer it.Rooms: Nice rooms but not in the current condition.Safety: I really think the room we have been given was unhealthy to stay in.

Along with family, I visited for 1 night in July 2023 with 2 rooms for my sister's sweet 16. They don't do anything for birthdays. The whole area along with very small parts of the hotel are still being repaired from hurricane Ian (which did not affect on-site amenities or overall stay). Was able to access Netflix and watch a nice movie. Decent rooms with mild lighting and convenient mini-fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Our mini-fridge chilled our water bottles nicely while the mini-fridge in our 2nd room froze the water bottles completely. A/C, plumbing, shower and ice machine worked efficiently as expected. The bathrooms are nice and spacious with a large perimeter-lighted mirror that provides lovely lighting however there is no ventilation and the door is a sliding door that doesn't block noise and cannot lock. I noticed these type of hotels typically do not offer room service or any delivery services. Free American breakfast; warm scrambled eggs, toast, bagels, waffles, sausages, cereal, fruits, muffins, coffee, tea, milk and etc. is always a winning touch. Property offers a nice sized pool (open dusk-dawn) and a small workout room but doesn't seem to have any nice views. Convenient store/gas station right next to hotel. Main road in front of hotel runs along nice beach-front areas and leads directly to Sanibel Island. Overall nice and quiet staff and a pretty decent hotel for the price; $125/room/night.
