My mother and I visited this store in search of Fort Myers sweatshirts. My mother approached a man working there about using the fitting room. This man, who appeared to be around 50 years old, Caucasian, and approximately 6 feet tall with a round body, responded in an incredibly rude manner by saying, "say the magic word." My mother, taken aback by his rudeness, replied with confusion, asking, "um, what?" It was clear that she was shocked by his disrespectful tone. Instead of addressing her concerns, he proceeded to insult my mother and forcefully grabbed her clothing items from her hands. He then proceeded to yell at us, demanding that we leave the store. After enduring two minutes of his verbal abuse, we decided to exit the store. As we were leaving, a young cashier woman at the front of the store called my mother a very inappropriate word, despite not being present during the incident and having no knowledge of the situation. I am utterly disgusted by the "service" my mother received today. She is a 60-year-old woman who was screamed at for no reason by a man twice her size. This experience has left me feeling appalled, I don t know if that man was the owner but we will never set foot in that store again.

What a unique and fun place to stay. Spent two nights here. If your not into cookie cutter hotel rooms and enjoy a place with personality and ambiance this is a perfect place to visit. The staff is super friendly, the rooms are quaint with an "at home" feeling. There are two pools, a lovely dock side sitting area, off street parking, a large gift shop, and you are a block from the beach. Plenty of places to dine, shop, and people watch right outside your door. We will be staying here again the the future. Great place.

I give this place 0 stars...we decided to check this store out while visiting Fort Myers Florida and my grandson was excited about a ball..he bounced it twice because he was so excited and the store owner rudely walked up to him and snatched the ball right out of his hand with no warning what so ever....my grandson is 4..I get that the owner was watching out for his merchandise but there was NOTHING in that store we couldn't pay for it it was broken by his ball...mind u most of fort myers stores r damaged and closed down from Hurricane Ian...so there wasn't much to shop at there...needles to say all 10 of us dropped what we planned to buy and left with my grandson in tears...shame on u (store owner/employee) u should b ashamed of yourself and I hope that store goes under and loses business from this post....I said what said...heartless man works there.....

My review was removed! Not surprised as it was an awful experience. The girls working were talking trash about customers. This place is an absolute nightmare. The staff are so unbelievably rude! I will never shop here again nor would I recommend it. Stay away from this store.

Nice store. The gentleman working the counter was rude to a customer who was interested In buying a ring. It was close to closing time. Told her, the door is closing in 10 minutes. Make your selection.

If you want a good location this is the place to go but the kitchen has 1970 appliances. It was very clean and gives you that island feel. Also it s not very far from the beach.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at Shipwreck Motel. I love the fact that this is a family ran motel! This motel is a few blocks from the beach and has a dock over the water. Thank you for having us!

Nice place to stay. The rooms we have stayed in are fairly small but clean. A couple great things are the following: 1. The location is great if you want to walk around the "popular" area of the island. 2. The boat slips are the super convenient as they are right out your back door. 3. Parking is straight forward.A couple of things to consider: 1. It is not a 5 star hotel - finishes are not the highest quality. 2. The beds and pillows are not of the highest quality. 3. After staying here more than 15 times, there is a slight odor in every room that we can't put our fingers on (it is tolerable). 4. Trying to get fresh towels was somewhat of a challenge as the hotel staff is inside the store on the road side of the rooms.Overall - it works. If you want to slip a boat - it's great. If you desire a comfortable bed, amenities, and service you are better of staying at Pink Shell.

I stayed there last weekend with my best friend. We had a girls weekend. The shower in our premium room that had two beds did not work. They opened the room downstairs for us to use to shower in. They offered for us to move to that room but the problem was it only had one bed not two and the shower was a quarter of the size of the room we were staying in. We ended up checking out a day early. When I asked for some kind of compensation because they never got our shower working I was told no because they offered us a room that was the same as what we were staying in. The room only had one bed! I love my friend and all but we weren't sharing a bed. No one has reached out to me to apologize or anything or offer any kind of compensation. Who wants to pay for a "premium" room when they can't even use their own shower?

I cannot complement this place enough!!! First, booking was a breeze and they sent me so many helpful messages to ensure my stay was excellent. Next, our flight got cancelled! We were so bummed because most places would not be accommodating under such circumstances, but Shipwreck motel were amazing! Shaun was the person I spoke with, he took my information down and made sure to ask the appropriate personnel what to do. He called me back promptly and they were able to book us for an extra day at the end of our visit. They were sooo helpful and nice. We got to meet Shaun at the hotel who was really polite and gave us insight to book directly with them next time. They were even able to hold our luggage for us after checkout since we had a later flight. Rooms looked the same as what you d find anywhere else in Fort Myers. They were clean and right in the heart of Times Square plus very quiet! I love this motel!

Disgusting rooms, terrible staff, false advertising of a pool. The pool has been replaced with a personal beach . The beach is not connected to any water. So its just a giant sandbox. Pictures of a pool are all over the website and google. When you book there is a small print on the confirmation email stating we no longer have a pool .My unit has one window, and minimal water pressure. The sink in the kitchenette was backed up when we arrived. A guy came to fix it and did nothing and left. I reached out to the front desk at 7:30 pm (had to call like 5 times inorder to speak with someone) to ask for towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags. They responded by telling me the house keeper is gone for the day so i will have to wait. After reminding them that they are a hotel and i paid money to stay here. The front desk lady reluctantly told me she would deliver the items shortly. Been over an hour.

Found out when we got there they no longer have a pool. There was almost no water pressure for the shower. More often then not there was no hot water. Rooms are super small. You almost have to strong arm someone to service your room. When you go up to the store to complain no one has a clue what to do since all they are involved with is the store and checking people in. Clearly management does not care about the motel side of it. I would not recommend this place for my worst enemy.

I give it one star because the beds were comfortable and because they cleaned the rooms. I would never stay here again. There were random old lounge chairs and tables thrown around the pool. Never touched or straightened up. There were obvious areas for landscape but the shrubs were missing. The landscape they did have was awful. The grounds are a mess. You can tell there is no care taken to this place. Even if they swept the walkways it would have helped. The bathrooms are extremely dated. I paid about $220 a night or $1500 with tax for the 6 nights. This is a $75 per night motel at best. They need to spend the huge amounts of money they are taking in to make this place look nice.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A LUXURY HOTEL, THIS ISN'T FOR YOU.However, on a budget, you can stay at The Shipwreck in comfort and have a variety of dining choices within walking distance. Each August, a large group of us would spend a weekend at the beach. Our group ranges from ages 10 all the way to 75. We used to stay on the beach at a competitor that was not as clean, friendly and helpful as The Shipwreck.. When we called and explained what we were looking for, the front desk was very accommodating. Our group had enough people that we were able to book a block of rooms that surrounded one of the pools so if we were up half the night, we were not bothering other guests. The pool area was clean and well maintained and There were plenty of shaded seating areas outside of the pool area and a couple of BBQ Grills. The rooms were clean, well maintained. Air conditioners were in working order , the beds were comfortable and clean. No bed bugs and no stains on pillows, cases or on bedding. Extra Pillows & blankets were already in our rooms which was nice. Some might think it loses something not being directly on the beach but with 2 swimming pools and the beach so close you can walk there even with little ones. We found the pool and social areas to be most enjoyable The only downside for me is the bathrooms in the rooms are quite small. You have a tub with shower, lavatory and pedestal sink was a bit shallow so I had to rinse my hair in the kitchen sink but that one issue is not enough to be a deal breaker. We would love to do another weekend again soon. If we get the chance, you can bet we will be calling the Shipwreck!

Ok 2 star hotel. Good location. Close to restaurants, bars and the beach. Housekeeping is solid, very clean. Parking is easy. Staff is nice and friendly. But room is not very well maintained. Nothing that ruins the stay. Just makes it feel like a cheap off campus college apartment. Chipped paint, crack in shower, water damaged door, bad paint job, doors don't close tight, stained toilet seat, damaged dresser... lots of things that could be fixed with some basic upkeep. They keep it clean but they don't seem to invest in keeping it in good condition. One the fence if I would stay again. Not a bad property but think I might try a few others before I repeat here.

As a Local this is my go-to spot to stay on FMB. I'm not looking for catering, or crazy accomodations, or anything like that. I'm looking for a nice, clean spot to drop off my things and be close enough to the cool stuff to do. This hits the nail on the head. <0.25 mi from everything and a chill spot. Staff lay out the rules and expectations up front and don't charge any ridiculous resort fees.10/10 in my book.

When we vacation in Fort Myers Beach we like to try different locations. This time we thought we would give Shipwreck a try. They have a number of different room layouts from basic to condo-like. We opted for a larger 2 queen bed with kitchenette. The room was very clean, beds very comfortable, and located right across the street from pretty much anything you will need to eat, drink, listen to live music, shop, etc. It has an older nostalgic motel feel with 2 small pools. Behind the motel is a small bay/canal. Absolutely must check it out! We were fortunate enough to see a manatee and 2 dolphins! It was incredible! All in all, great little motel at a reasonable price for the location.

Our visit to Shipwreck didnt start off too well . You are directed to "Check in" parking in the back of building. There is no designated spots . There's about 6 spots utilized for guest parking as well. It's a very small area and people parking wherever they can find a spot makes it difficult to turn around if you dont have a compact car.The front of motel is on a busy street with metered parking so if cars are parked there, there's no where to stop and drop off your luggage because the paid parking lot is a big haul around the corner. You will find yourself lugging your suitcase on the busy sidewalk. Our rooms were 45 and 46 which was an obstacle course. Someone in our party slipped twice because the surface was slippery from the rain. The paver roads are uneven and fills up with water. Was pretty upset with the check in process as the "pay at hotel" rate was not the same as what I was quoted on Hotels.com The girl told me were being charged for two children. Room one had 2 adults, one 5 yr old. Room two had one adult and two children. I inadvertantly put there ages as 13 and 16 on the reservation as I had booked for a friend that I hadn't seen in a long time. They were 11 and 17. She said Expedia said to charge extra person fees. I showed her my quote. From Hotels.com. The extra $20 was principle. I had a quote, nowhere on any booking app or website or fine print of the motel does it say that a parent with two children 17 and under will pay "extra person charge" I asked her to honor the price I was quoted with Hotels.com as there were no extra persons. Two kids travelling with their parent. She told me that she could not adjust it because it would affect their commission. I explained again than the quote I received did not make me happy and I was upset that she was worried about a commission. There was no apology that n a 4 capacity Deluxe queen room I was paying for two children. Just directed me to the horrible parking lot that was gravel, flooded from the rain and shared with the general public. The rooms are nice, clean but very small . A beautifulshower. It's been updated. They also told me they plan on taking out the pools in August . So we wont be back for the reasons. The gift shop is very nice and reasonable. There were also alot of outside people that came in to use the pool . They were drinking with bottles of alcohol and playing football. There were 10 of them making it impossible for our small daughter to swim. no employees walk with people that around the grounds

Expedia states an efficiency, but the hotel reads "teeny" room. Awful experience and the reservation receptionist argued with me the entire time. Would not recommend unless you want to pay extra for the upgrade. 1 of the pools is without water. The shower is a 2 ft. by 2 ft. enclosure with the water strong enough to rip skin off of your body and not to mention the soft floor in the "teeny" shower enclosure. One good thing about this travesty of a mini vacation, the maid was nice and polite.

Nice little motel. Nothing fancy if that's what you are looking for. I was in a "premium" room. Bed in one room, full kitchen in another. Room was against the bay with a door out to it. Spacious for what it is. Would absolutely stay again. Only complaint is the back door. It was not sealed at all, with visible gaps around it. Glad it was cooler out, otherwise we probably would have had a bunch of bugs inside.

I don t care.

Room was small but clean. Unfortunately, the property is not there very handicap friendly. Location great. Close to beach, shops and restaurants. Staff was friendly and gift shop had nice items at reasonable prices. For short stay, I would recommend but maybe not if you are accommodating someone with a physical handicap.
