I took the advice of friends and neighbors & went to Steve Johnson for a second opinion after getting a very pricey quote from the dealership for my 16 year old vehicle. They identified the real problem and can fix it for about $200! I believe I have found an honest mechanic. Delighted:-)

Outstanding business! They have an evidently genuine care and concern for their customers. Mr. Johnson took the time to teach me the ABC s of car care and to diagnose my problems as an honest-man and not a salesman. Kind, Trustworthy, and Knowledgable.

They don t make trustworthy auto-shops like this anymore. We needed our engineer plate removed after it halfway fell off on the interstate. Mr. Johnson had us in and out within 15 minutes and a super fair price to boot! I would trust them with literally anything wrong with my car in a heartbeat with the added peace of mind that they are charging me fairly. Thank you!!!

The most trustworthy auto-shop! They went over and beyond to help me figure out what was wrong with my vehicle. They don't nickel and dine you and make you pay for things you don't need. They care about their costumes. I highly recommend them.

The emergency brake malfunction light came on while I was driving home, so I pulled it into Steve Johnson s lot and left the key. They contacted me the next morning, changed the battery and had it done by the next afternoon. So relieved and thankful for the great quick service!

My family and myself have been bringing our cars to Steve Johnson for over 10 years. I do own a 14 yr old Toyota Matrix which I had serviced last week. This week I looked in back seat and found one of my hubcaps there. I tried to pound it back on but it was loose. I figured their mechanic must have broken it.I went there to tell them and was told the owner, Thad Johnson, would call me. I wanted them to replace this hubcap. It was broken by them so they should fix this.Got a call from Thad Johnson. He claims their mechanic didn t break it, it is just old, and looks as though I run into the curb, etc. I evened asked and pleaded for them to go half, but Thad started calling me names, bad driver running into things and before I could comment He hung up the Phone!! How Rude is this man! I will never go back. He lost not only me but others in my family.

My partner was told that if she dropped off her car overnight, it would be serviced earlier the next day. The next morning, she called the store and was abruptly told that her car would be ready at 4:30-5pm; much later in the day than we expected. No details were given and the call was ended.Only when I called 2 minutes later was I given an explanation, followed by the employee saying "yeah I don't know why she thought that" regarding leaving the car overnight etc. When we were TOLD to do so.1 extra star for having the car ready to go around 1pm. Not disappointed about the auto service, disappointed about the customer service and basically not getting an explanation/update unless you're a man

Outstanding service. 20yr old Jeep with a bad fuel pump and electrical issues. Tracked down electrical issues and replaced the pump twice (warranty on pump). Appreciate the hard work. Excellent. Service was great and the appt. was on time and done on time. Staff very courteous and knowledgeableAnother visit this month X2. Excellent service and the reason why this is my "go to" repair shop!Update: Stopped to get some air in my tires. Everyone from the owner to the man who serviced my car answered all my questions. Great place to "baby" your car!!Update: Emergency battery call. Once again this business is more than outstanding....they respond immediately to an emergent problem. Thank you to my "go to" auto team.

Trust Steve Johnson! I had 2 auto places test my battery and said it was low and should get a new one. SJA tested and said it was like new! No need to replace. Can't thank them enough for their honesty and will be back for all my auto needs in the future. It pays to get a second (in this case a third) opinion!

So friendly and accommodating! I was in town for the day and found a nail in my tire. They were able to help me right away, I was in and out and under 15 minutes. Everyone is very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend!

These guys are the very best. They're really friendly and they know what they're doing. Having recently moved to Fernandina Beach from Pennsylvania I was hesitant trusting anyone with my car. Steve Johnson was recommended by a couple of people who I trust and they were right. I witnessed several other customers who also had service done and they were treated well and were happy with the results that this establishment provided. So happy to have found the perfect mechanics.

Had a slow tire leak. Even though they were busy, one of their technicians came out, jacked the wheel up, pulled out the screw in the tread and plugged the tire leak. Took about 15". Amazing customer service!

I m fairly new to this area. Prior to moving here I always took my 2008 Honda CRV to a dealer. I found Steve Johnson and am so grateful! These guys are professionals I can trust, they are so kind and really listen to what I say. Thank you all so much for treating people so well.

Just wanted to drop a quick note to say thanks for the service and pleasant experience. It was easy to set an appointment and easy to communicate with someone at the shop. And when the first fix didn t fully solve the issue, they listened to my concerns, kept working and figured it out. Car runs great now.I really appreciate the service. Will recommend to my friends and family.

WEEKEND SAVED thanks to Steve Johnson automotive! I can t remember the name of the kind gentleman that came to the rescue but after arriving to our campsite which was a 1 1/2 hour drive from home, my truck would not start at Fort clinch campground and the gear shifter would not switch gears! This kind man diagnosed and then came out and repaired my truck within 30 minutes brought the part from their shop ALL FREE OF CHARGE!! Such a blessing and he saved my wives birthday weekend!! No doubt! Thank you so much from the Langstons!

Great job done. Professional and honest. Had a lube oil and filter and ask them to rotate the tires and check the brakes while they're at it. 96,000 miles on the car I expected it needed brakes. They said I have at least 40% left on the brakes. That's honest. The price was half of what I expected it to be. This will be my go-to.

The efforts to ensure I understood what work was going to be done and why it was being done along with not diverting to the most expensive option first made me feel that they truly care about building long lasting relationships with customers instead of trying to make a quick buck. I've been using Steve Johnson's for the last year to maintain our 2 cars. These people are polite, knowledgeable and the rates are reasonable. Things get done quickly. Great prices on tires too with plenty of brands to select from.

Found a nail in my tire as we were checking out the surf motel. Walked in and within minutes it was on a jack and within 15 minutes I was back on the road. Can't beat service like that I'll keep them at the top of my list while in this area.

Steve Johnson Automotive and their staff have treated my family as just that, for nearly thirty years. They do good work every time, I've never had reason to bring a vehicle back even once in all that time. And not only do they stand by their work, but Thad, Scott, and the crew go out of their way to help make sure their clientele are rolling down the road safely, every time. I've even known them to do routine maintenance on my vehicle while there for other services, and didn't even notice until I realized the difference the change made to my motor, because they never mentioned it, and it wasn't on the bill!

My wife's min-van was having some pretty bad engine issues. We had it towed to Steven Johnson. They diagnosed it and realized that the parts that were bad were the same ones they replaced in February. They let us know that the entire repair was covered by the parts warranty they had with the supplier. Some places may have just charged us and recovered the cost for themselves. Steven Johnson is a very honest and transparent shop. I highly recommend them!Just to add to this - the covering on my son's fit had come loose and was torn. I thought we'd have to buy a $150 to $200 part and put it on. Steven Johnson took a look at it and was able to fit it back on the car for $25 or $30. Really like the honesty and integrity of this place!!!

It's rare to find an auto shop that is honest AND competitively priced. I have tried many places on and off Amelia island and this place outshines them all! They always have new deals to choose from, the service time is quick and the quality of work is excellent. I called this place for my stepmother who had just arrived in Fernandina Beach from Atlanta on her way to Port Canaveral. Her brakes started making some noise indicating service needed. It was 1pm and it was imperative she get the car repaired immediately as she s on a tight schedule. Called them and they couldn t have been more accommodating and responsive. Incredible service. We frequent the island and I know if we are ever in need of automotive service or know someone locally who needs automotive care, this shop gets our recommendation with 2 thumbs up. Thank y all so much for some good old fashion customer service!

While on vacation in Fernandina beach, we had a little accident with a high curb. Long story short, we needed a new radiator. These guys really took care of us. The final bill was exactly what was quoted two days before, and the car was ready to go 5 hours earlier than promised on a Saturday. Great people to deal with!!
