I came here to provide a float plan and get more information and advice on the kayak trip I was embarking to Tiger KeyEven though it is currently housed in a trailer, the bathrooms are open and accessible, and the staff and volunteers are super helpful! You can also get your stamp hereRegina and Harold are absolutely the best! They helped me further plan my route from the boat launch to Tiger Key. They provided key points of information that helped me navigate successfully while I was en route.Their pointers and advice was so helpful in making it a great trip with no issues. Thanks Regina and Harold! The boat launch is easy to access, and there is ample parking

This was an incredible experience last year. The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. It was a little difficult to find exactly where to go at first for the kayak rental, but aside from that, everything else was terrific. The equipment was in good shape, and the tips for navigating the waterways were very useful.

The visitors center was destroyed during hurricane Ian. But the have a tent up and you can take the 10,000 island boat tour from there- book online. The tour was so fun especially on a hot day. Saw white pelicans migrating dolphins and much more.

It s Everglades national park so what s not to like. We ll the visitor center is gone due to hurricane so that s why only 1 star. Did the airboat ride and was super fun. Definitely worth the drive. They said the visitor center will be back just not sure when.

Great place to launch boats from and get a lot of information about the national park. You can rent kayaks/canoes, possibly other equipment but that's what I saw (I had my own kayak, perfect place to launch).Do not forget anything though .. I washed off my kayak spray skirt. hung it on the fence by the hose and left it there. I came back the next day and inquired at the lost and found but no one turned it in.

Volunteers were personable and informative. We were unable to take the 90 minute 1000 Island boat tour because it was already filled up. However the volunteer directed us to the Cypress walking tour a few miles up the road which was an easy 1 mile boardwalk nature trail with interesting birds, vegetation and alligators. There was another volunteer at the end of the walking trail that was quite knowledgeable and informative on many aspects of the wildlife, habitat, trees and history of the area.

One of the coolest visitors center I've ever been to! We were absolutely thrilled with our visit in Gulf Coast Visitor Center. We took the narrated 90 minutes boat tour out to Chokoloskee Bay and we saw a bunch of widelife: many dolphins, manatees, stingrays, pelicans, osprey, an eagle nest. The boat captains were so knowledgeable and humorous as well. So epic trip, highly recommend!

Rangers and volunteers are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Facility destroyed by Hurricane Irma several months ago and temporary trailer is not in service. Visitor Center lacks electricity, water & bathrooms (port-o-potties on location). Still hosting informative canoe trips, talks, limited camping. Beauty abounds!

We ended up arriving at the Visitor Center right around 5pm and the park ranger was nice enough to stay a little bit late to answer a few of our questions and give up a map to show us the best places to go to view wildlife. She was so kind and personable and we were very impressed with her customer service! I wouldn t go to this area expecting a lot of attractions or entertainment, but if you enjoy wildlife and nature it is a really wonderful experience!

Friendly and accurate tourist information. Facilities and supplies seem limited, apparently due to recovering from storm damage. Nice people. Kinda hard to find though. Off the beaten path. Worth the stop if you have tourism questions.

This was the best boat cruise we have ever done. Saw manitees, dolphins, spoonbills, and more. Guides worked well together, and we're very helpful and had lots of great information. The boat was clean and it was clear the crew loved and cared about the area!!

Such views! I withheld a star due to lack of decent facilities for visitors. We stopped here to get our permit that will allow us to trek into the wilderness that is our Everglades National Park.It is closer than Flamingo's visitor center and because we wanted to ensure our choices of campsites/chickees, I have been able to see it first hand. The tower shown in the background of one photo is a must

The town looks pretty deserted. But then you arrive at the visitor center and start the boat tour and it is simply amazing. The skipper and the spotter help you to locate all kind of animals and actively try to find them. The guys are so much fun and know a lot about the animals The views are stunning too! But remember it is wildlife. So the animals could decide not to show up. But nevertheless it is worth every penny!

Building is gone, but they still have a ranger out in a pop up tent to answer all your questions. We still had a great time.

You can reserve a boat ride to see the wildlife in the Ten thousand islands. The boat was not too busy in July but it is recommended to purchase the tickets online before arriving.

Beautiful place. Unfortunately, I could not kayaking because you have to make the reservation at least with 24h in advance. But amazing experience.

Lots to do with camping nearby at Flamingo, boat rides, kayak and canoe rentals, etc. Plus they have food and a store. The upcoming center will be fun to go back and see. Tons of Manatees to see as well!
