My usual shop was unable to look at my truck, so I had my wife drop it off here. They were very thorough and got my truck taken care of in a timely manner (under a time crunch). At a very reasonable price. Thanks again very much appreciated. They have earned my business from here on out.

Been there four times, the last two were enough for me. Jan 2021 had them install a tie-rod and brake hose, got home and looked under hood and brake fluid all around the master cylinder and engine compartment. and frame where hose was replaced and rear wheels where they bled brakes. I liked Bruce the service writer he was straight up, fair and knowledgable, I know because I worked in the automotive business a long time and was a mechanic. Nonetheless, April of 2022 my radiator transmission cooler blew and had to get my transmission rebuilt so called American Automotive to get the engine flushed. I spoke with Tonya who took over for Bruce, as we spoke and I explained my situation she began to explain what was necessary in order to clean out the coolant system. I told her I understood because I was a mechanic and was in agreement with everything she said and added, "you have to drain the engine block by taking the drain plugs out".After keeping my vehicle for two days and a $ 321.00 bill Tonya called and told me my car was ready but would have to come back after a couple of thousand miles to drain the system again because they had left additive in to clean out the system. Well I knew at that point the job was not done correctly. .Every mechanic knows when this cross contamination of fluids happens that you have to drain the engine block. So when I came to pay my bill I asked Tonya directly if they pulled the plugs on the block and she said "yes". So got home and checked, and they didn't even try to get the plugs out. So took it to another shop where they kept the car for a couple of hours, charged $110.00 to do it correctly the first time. Lastly, I've seen some stupid things working in the business, but this was total incompetence across the board.Service: Auto maintenance

They were great! Super busy but diligent, they got our truck fixed as quick as they could. Taunya was great and very responsive. They have decent prices and great diesel mechanics.

I've been working with Bruce down there. I can say his prices are honest I got a few quotes from other local shops and his prices were some of the best. Hes very honest for example he could of charged me to do the breaks on my Truck and I would of paid but he said the breaks are good an also I would of paid for a main seal to be replaced but he changed the value cover gaskets said that was likely the issue and to see how it drives for awhile before doing the rare gasket. Not only is pricing fair but the honesty is what matters the most and I got that here. Thank you Bruce to you and your team an when I need things done Ill bring my car and truck here again.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Oil change

3 weeks waiting for our vehicle. When we went to pickup, there was no people to be found anywhere. All keys on shelf, vehicles all opened with keys inside. I called and no on answered so we had to go back to pick up later. Overcharges for the bill and I asked for the 10% discount for seniors or veterans and the cashier didn't want to honor the discount. But finally discounted to more than the original quote. I might try them again and give them another chance.But very strange way to do business.

I went there for service based on the reviews here and was not disappointed. Bruce and his crew do a very good job at a very fair price. They have worked on 3 vehicles for me and I have been satisfied with their work. I highly recommend them.

Very unprofessional customer service. Receptionist wouldn t allow the secondary mechanic to explain what he saw after inspecting my vehicle. If he s not qualified to Speak, how is he qualified to work on vehicles? Eventually. Drew came to the front to explain what was found. He was very annoyed to have to speak with me directly and that is simply not the way to gain the trust and loyalty of clients. After asking around, others have had to return to the shop to have the same problems corrected multiple times. No thanks. All around zero stars. Drew, when you go to the doctor, are you satisfied with the receptionist explaining what the doctor finds? This shop must have changed hands, different mechanics and staff. Not costumer oriented.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Our 2006 motorhome engine developed a terrible screeching noise that we believed could be the dash a/c. We were headed for Dunnellon and decided to find a service center in the area that could accommodate a big rig and had RV engine experience. Customer reviews for American Automotive remarked about the professional and knowledgeable mechanics, the excellent customer service and extremely reasonable pricing. Based on those comments, we made an appointment. We are happy to say our experience mirrored those of the positive customer reviews. We would not hesitate to recommend American Automotive to anyone in need of auto repairs and will definitely seek their expertise with any future repair needs. Kudos to Bruce, Nick and Drew as well as their lead technician. You guys are awesome!!!

Very understanding. Affordable. They are very nice and knowledgeable. No person on earth wants to fix a broken vehicle. They make it much easier to take on the grief of a broken vehicle. I highly recommend.

Tried to sell me a new front end for $1200.00 which I didn,t need in April 2017. Tried to get same tires they put on in April 2017. Waited days for a callback, never happened. Found out they don.t make them anymore. I will never go back.
