We had recently moved to this area from out of state. Our clutch went out, so we had to bring the car to this shop. I was expecting it to be there for three weeks because that's how it would work, even for minor issues, where we came from.Our clutch and flywheel both had to be replaced. They had it all done in just a little over 24hrs! I was so taken aback at the professionalism of these individuals, and of their amazing work! Our car drives like it's brand new and it feels amazing!They really know their stuff, and I am still in shock that it took just over 24hrs to get all of that work done on our car. This place has won a loyal customer, and I definitely recommend this shop to anyone in the area!!! Just...WOW!!!Again, thank you all so much!

I came here for a second opinion on my ford focus with transmission issues (I got a recall letter from ford about the TCM). Austin was very nice, informative, and timely. Unfortunately, he confirmed what the Ford dealership found: I need a new clutch kit. It s not a cheep fix so I m debating on whether it s worth it, but one thing I know is that if I decide to go forward with the repair, Dunedin Transmission will have my business. Thanks again Austin!

Would not take my vehicles any place else. You get Quality work, and great service which is rare. Dunedin Transmission deserve 10 stars, they are in a class of its own.

They were very kind and extremely helpful and timely. I had my car towed to them on recommendation, fearing that it was something with the transmission they didn t even take a day to find out that a bolt fell out of my motor mount and fixed it literally the next morning and very affordable reasonable prices I highly recommend them.

I'm a snow bird and my car didn't start on my 2nd day back. A chain store did a quick check and said I needed a new alternator.I stop over to Dunedin Transmission to get a quote on installing a new alternator. Austin wanted to check it out first. After a "thorough" evaluation he determined it wasn't a faulty alternator but a loose connection. He said he doesn't want to sell me anything I didn't need. It's nice to know there are still honest and competent technicians still around.

If you're looking for a family owned business (same owners since 1979) that treats you right, then this is the place for you. My mechanic of many years retired and closed his business. He personally recommended these people to use which has been an absolute gift. Austin is very approachable, shoots straight and knows his stuff. BTW ... they do complete auto repair. Go Check Them Out !!

They are a family-run transmission business that does other work too they're very good I've had my oil changed there I've also had transmission work done. they're honest and they tell you what's wrong with the car before they do any work. They are excellent and very honest

Dropped my daughter's car off with what I suspected was transmission problems. I was told, after they performed an extensive diagnosis, that it probably wasn't the transmission. They explained there were some engine issues I needed to take care of first - and, if after that, I still had issues, they would look at it again. Not only did they provide the information (with codes they extracted), but they exhibited great concern. Unfortunately, they were unable to replicate the exact symptoms I was experiencing (not their fault; y'all know how that works), so I will repair the other issues, and If/when the (suspected) transmission problems occur again, I'll stop back by.All-in-all a GREAT EXPERIENCE! Charged me $2200 for a transmission rebuild. When I picked it up it still wasn't right. Had them look at it again and they said they replaced some parts that should have been replaced in the first place with the total rebuild. Don't take your vehicle here unless you want to give your money away and have someone else clean up their mess. Absolutely abhorrent service. 2 thumbs .

Brought my truck in thinking it was a transmission issue but after multiple tests and troubleshooting, they found it to be something else. Wasn't charged a cent. Impressed with their integrity and knowledge. Will be back.

I had trouble with transmission on foreign car and found it difficult to get a reasonable timeframe for repair and reasonable price. After interviewing the folks on hand there, and noting that they had a small backlog of cars, I had them take a diagnostic 'quick-look' . Gary did an assessment and mentioned that it might still be under warranty from the manufacturer... he did NOT charge me. Turns out, that although the original warranty had expired, the manufacturer updated their warranty! I am now getting it taken care of for FREE. Had Gary not mentioned this to me and just proceeded with the replacement, it would have been over $6K and quite a time without a vehicle. GREAT job, I recommend without reservation....Service: Transmission

These guy went above and beyond excellence of service. Our transmission failed 3 months after they had serviced it, with a 1 year warranty. They repaired the problem at no charge and fixed another problem unrelated to the second failure. They have been in business for quite a few year and our experience it a prime example of why. Two thumbs up.

Highly recommend. Took our truck to several different mechanics that kept slapping on random parts and didn t fix the issue. Wasted a ton of money with them. Finally went to Dunedin Transmission. This entire time was only a sensor. Would have saved thousands if I went here first. Finally, after months of wasted time and money, it s fixed!!!Service: Transmission

I had the transmission in my Honda Passport rebuilt. Ed worked with me and gave me best price and just an honest down to earth guy. These guys are trust worthy and really look out for you. I'm a single mom and in sales and he got the necessities done and me back on the road quickly!

What a great shop , my car is 10 years old , they checked out my problem, fixed it & didn't break my budget, I will always bring my car to them. Very honest as to what needs to be done. The Lady in the front office is also very nice & took care of me. Thank you so much Dunedin Transmission.

Dunedin Transmission was excellent. My XTerra had a torque converter go all whackaroo. They worked on it over Thanksgiving, and I got my now smoothly running X much much earlier than I expected it. Worth every penny. If you have a shift problem, bring it here. Thanks!

If you are wondering why Dunedin transmission has been in the same building for over 45 years here's an example why. I had a rear main oil seal leaking on my 2000 Ford focus I called around to every transmission shop in Pinellas county just about and dunedin transmission came in as the lowest price they R & R my transmission replace the rear main oil seal and set me on my way a few days later the car was still dripping a little oil not as bad as it was but still was dripping a little oil brought it back to dunedin transmission they said for some reason the rear main oil seal seems to be seeping so with a smile they took the car back in R & R the transmission again replaced another rear main oil seal which I thought I was going to get a phone call saying it was something else so on and so forth but to my surprise I never received that phone call I did receive a phone call to tell me it was ready to be picked up I went back picked up my car and it is not leaking a drop of oil they didn't charge me a penny on the return so I just want to say thank you to dunedin transmission to Gary Linda and Austin for there honesty integrity and good workmanship thank you guys great job.

Very professional and reasonable. An honest and fair transmission business that has been around a long time in Dunedin. We got our Dodge Grand Caravans tranmission rebuilt here and it shifts better than the day we bought it!

Brought my truck in for a transmission light that has been popping on, they had my truck all day and called me right before closing time saying they couldn t find an issue And no codes are popping up but still charged me a diagnostic fee when they couldn t diagnose the problem. A little bit disappointed with the diagnostics fee as they couldn t diagnose what was going on.Service: Transmission

I had a 4L60E transmission rebuilt in a 1998 WS6 Trans Am by Dunedin Transmission. The cost was a few hundred dollars more than most other places quoted, however I was assured at the time it would be rebuilt "better than stock."The transmission now has 45K well-maintained miles on the rebuild and it is slipping again from third to fourth gear.I took it back and they suggested another rebuild, I expressed my frustration that the first rebuild didn't last very long to which the owner replied "its a high performance car, the transmissions don't last long." I was shocked that was his excuse especially since the original transmission lasted over 110K miles prior to the rebuild that was supposed to be "better than stock".The drivetrain in the car is essentially 100% stock, so there are no modifications that would increase the horsepower/torque above what the 4L60E is capable of handling.Bottom line....unless your driving something that makes less horsepower than a Ford Fiesta...AVOID THIS PLACE!

For a transmission place, they failed to find the problem with my Transmission. I was stuck with the problem until I finally traded the car in for a newer one. one hell of a way to fix the problem...
