Had them work on my AC unit replace compressor and dryer 1200 didn't work then they said it was another part had him do it $500 didn't work they wanted to charge me another $800 1700 and didn't still didn't very disappointed

They did a fantastic and meticulous job on rebuilding my engine and doing a few more things for my 1957 GMC truck I am very very happy with that..

Don's Auto repair has become famous for the bait and switch tactic of telling you one price and then it costing much more when the work is finished. NO LESS THAN 11 reviews verify this FACT. The mechanics tend to break parts and then charge you more. Don's did it to me twice and I will no longer do business here. Avoid this business or expect to pay more.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have taken all my cars to Don, over the last 35 years. He is honest and his prices are much lower than most places in town. I grew up taking my cars to Don and now all my grown children and my grand kids take there trucks and cars and I take my fairly new Bmw . I can honestly say that there is no where else in this town that I would trust to fix my car. Don and his wife have always treated his customers like family.Don is a #1 mechanic in my book.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Air conditioning

I took my 1983 Chevy C10 to Don that I had inherited. The engine had just been rebuilt, but wouldn t start. I told Don about it and he said to bring it to him he ll check it out. It took him a whole day to diagnose that the timing was off and charged me $400 for the diagnosis. He took another three days to TRY to fix the problem for another $750 I drove my truck home the fifth day and it never started again now that s $1150 I spent and Don never had to put any parts on my truck all his employees were interested in was buying my vehicle. Since he didn t have to put any parts on my truck I asked for my money back in which he replied no he wouldn t return my funds at all!! Be very careful with this guy he s nothing more than a shade tree mechanic and his employees aren t ASE certified and if you have a collector car they ll jack the prices up so high you can t afford to get your vehicle back that s what I think he was trying to do to me!!!Service: Engine repair

Did a poor job on fixing my transmission for 3,500 and it was supposed to be 2,500 but when I got there to pick up the car he "Don"was like,. I thought I told u it's a 1000 more, with that the car Doesn't drive the same car sounds like everything is loose underneath the hood, sounds like a truck. 2016 fusion the front of my grill loose just really not satisfied at all n my family been dealing with this guy since I was a child

Don is a great mechanic and an honest guy. I've had two of my cars diagnosed by T's auto shop as the motor being totaled and I took it to Don's and he had it fixed in a matter of hours for a third of the cost. I'm a woman and he has never in the slightest spoken to me rude or condescending. Great guy, great place, great service!

Justin diagnosed the problem gave a a quote. I had the repairs done and couldn't be happier. Service was excellent,price was fair .Don was great the whole thing was awesome and will be back . Thank you

Repaired brakes on my daughter's car. Took time to make sure job was done correctly and had strong pedal. He has worked on it before and we have been satisfied with his work.

Awesome shop. Don is a super smart guy who is fun to chat with. Mechanics here are extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy, efficient, and the prices are outstanding. Were up and running within a couple hours on two separate occasions. This is the mechanic you want!

My daughter is an out of State Student at Stetson. As a prank one of her friends tried to reposition her wiper blades. They became stuck in the upright position. I pushed them into place on my recent visit and they would not work at all. I was convinced the motor for the wipers may need to be replaced. After reading the reviews and asking locals I told my daughter to take it Don's. I feared some mechanics might try to take advantage of a College age female student. They looked at the wipers, unscrewed and them and reinstalled them and presto they were fixed right on the spot. They told her no charge! I highly recommend Don's and have found my mechanic for all my daughters car repair and maintenance needs for the next 3 years until she graduates! Thank you for your integrity and the polite manner in which you took care of my daughter ! First Rate!

Wouldn't let me post my bad experience here just a warning do not go here for clutch wwent from 650 to 1300 and had it a week the first time and 2 days this time and it still doesn't feel right

These guys are good for basic stuff but I was overcharged for repairs that did not fix the problem. They are Not Mercedes trained or authorized. I spent over $1,500 to fix the water pump, radiator fan & charge the A/C. The car still overheated, the A/C still blew hot within 2 weeks & they said the instrument cluster was bad & was another $1,500 but they did not have the Mercedes Star Computer equipment to properly install the cluster. I shipped them a cluster I bought from the Mercedes Club & they tried to install it without the proper equipment & the cluster would not communicate with the computer. I then took it to a Mercedes dealer who said the cluster was fried because they did not use the Mercedes proprietary equipment to install it. I think older domestic cars is their thing...Otherwise STAY AWAY!!!!

They bait and switched me. Will never go back again. Gave me a quote on the phone and when went to pick up my car the price jumped over 1k, even though they didnt do anything extra they said they woukd in the initial quote. SHADYService: ElectricalService: Electrical

Just got back from Don's Auto Repair. These guys are the best ever!!! They are fast, courteous, reasonably price and thorough. I certainly will be back there for the rest of my days in DeLand. So long Tires Plus, ripoff!!!!!

I was recommended to Don when I was quoted that I needed a new radiator, although I live in another city I called Don and told me " if you can get it to meI will take a look at it and you know what I find." I got it to him, he checked it out and it was a cracked heater hoes, he was so honest and really fair and reasonable he comes highly recommended.

I cannot say how these guys treat women(see the other review). But i was/am very pleased with their work. I would recommend them to anyone. Fast service, honest and hardworking. These guys are country, thats the only way to put it, thats not a bad thing but it might put you off at first, dont let it, they are good give them a chance. About my service, they could have told me that i needed a new AC compressor and i would have believed them, they didn't and fixed it right. labor is 70 a hour, but thats pretty standard, "a little high" but its hard times.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! THEY WILL TAKE WEEKS TO "FIX" YOUR VEHICLE AND TRIPLE CHARGE YOU!! GOT MY VEHICLE BACK AND A WEEK LATER DID NOT RUN!! SCAMMERS! WHEN I WENT TO PAY THEY JACKED UP THE PRICE $50 MORE DOLLARS ONCE THEY HAD MY CARD IN THEIR HAND! RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND SCAMMERS!! I PAID ALMOST $1,000 DOLLARS AND WAS LEFT WITH A VEHICLE THAT A WEEK LATER DID NOT RUN!

He has great mechanics working there but he need to inform ppl of extra stuff he put on your car. You get a quote when you leave but when you come back it's an extra 50 because he fix something you didn't agree on. I don't trust those politics so I'll use them for emergency. I have a main mechanic else where.

Had my transmission replaced there and my bearings he didn't even ask to do my bearings til after he had bought the part (i have them under warranty) his mechanic also left the dust shield off of my transmission and it went out a week later
